Frampton's in Isle of Wight

An Oasis in Bembridge, classy and cosy, warm atmosphere, a real gem and a must if you enjoy a real and down to earth experience of ambience while dining. Food was exceptional and staff were amazing. Love it, will be back again and again.

We visited Framptons a week or so ago with our dog Tilly …had an amazing Sunday lunch and on another day an equally fab flat bread full of flavour …can’t wait to get back on the island to visit again …don’t miss out on this little gem of a place.

We wandered past this little streetfront place almost passing it up as a tearoom. Then we noticed the menu on the door and immediately went to book an evening table. Paul seems to run it almost single-handed with a talented chef out the back. Booking is recommended for an inside table, but there is more seating outside. Decor is quirky and interesting and the vibe is lively and friendly. Paul brought us a teriyaki fish flatbread with spicy chips, and bao buns with homemade pulled pork and soy and ginger pulled brisket. Hard to pick a winner- they were all excellent. Bit of a hidden gem here, but set your satnav and park on the street outside.

We walked past Framptons the other day and saw the Sunday menu, so as it looked very enticing we booked online. We live not far away in by Nettlestone. My wife had a small leg of lamb and I had the pork belly. A very good English roast , couldn’t fault it! We will spread the word and recommend “Framptons “

We've had a couple of very nice visits here recently, though we felt we were skating on thin ice, slightly! The trouble is the front area is open to the street, and it looks really inviting when going past in the late afternoon - perfect for a cuppa or cold drink. But the place is not really set up for that, so it can be a slightly uphill task to agree this kind of arrangement. Success on both occasions, and had two lovely visits, and with enough effort managed to have a friendly response from staff members.

We Visited framptons 4 times while on holiday…the food was delicious and full of flavour …Paul the owner was very attentive to us and our dog …we will definitely be visiting again when back on the island …thanks again mark,Wendy and Tilly the dog .

Friendly staff and good service. Good sized portions and the food was delicious. My desert was especially delicious, I had the toffee profiteroles,which were lovely and crispy with a lovely toffee sauce. I think they’re the best profiteroles I’ve ever had. We ate here whilst we were on holiday in Bembridge and if we are ever back we’d eat here again. The only slight downside was that there was only one toilet but the food more than made up for that.

We had food there before and it was lovely. Last time we stopped for a coffee and it was the worst coffee we had for a long time. It had no taste or smell of coffee. We just drank some of it and left. Will visit again for food and beer this time.

We walked into Bembridge to go to another restaurant but when we got there it was closed. This turned out to be a stroke of luck because we stumbled across Framptons instead! Lovely meal, really chilled vibe and very friendly.

Hubby and I decided to lunch here during our holiday. The food was delicious- I went for the lamb flatbread and herb fries and we sat outside in the lovely courtyard with our dogs … highly recommend!

We happened upon Framptons completely by accident, and with two very tired and hungry kids after a long day so I was a bit desperate! They couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating, and the food was really great. Super service and really reasonably priced. A real hidden gem - I just wish I hadn't been driving to be able to have a cocktail or two!

As good as you can get ribs. Friendly and efficient staff. Good atmosphere. Decent value wines. Great random walk in.

Framptons is a great local bar/restaurant. Have eaten here a number of times and never been disappointed. Great food and relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff, Cannot recommend it enough.

We had a fantastic lunch today. Great atmosphere, attentive waitress, beautiful food and the best lattes we have had on the island. Already thinking about a return visit before we head off back home. We even know what we are going to order next time. 🥗

Been here before with family just for drinks. My husband I decided to try the food. We went for about 5 starters and made our own little tapas. Food was tasty fresh and hot. Lovely young waitress. Will return once back on the island

We have used Framptons a few times now for their Sunday dinner take away service. The food has been excellent quality hot and very enjoyable every time. We can highly recommend them.

Nice little quirky bar with a good atmosphere and nice food. They had a fairly limited but interesting selection of beers on tap, complemented by a decent range of spirits and cocktails. I had a top notch burger. Service could have been better, so it's a 4.5 stars from me really.

Hardly noticeable from outside, this small wine bar / restaurant on the High Street has an interesting lunch and dinner menu and the food is very good. It's tight modern seating inside and there's nice outdoor terrace. We had their Sunday lunch and it was great. We tried the slow cooked lamb and the pork belly, both were delicious and came with Yorkshires and nicely cooked vegetables with great roast potatoes. The crackling with the roast pork was amazing. For dessert we had the white chocolate bread and butter pudding and the Apple and Salted Caramel pudding, both were really lovely, well presented and accompanied by lovely custard. Decent wine list. Nice coffee, nice people.

Absolutely love Framptons! Great vibe, great food and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend popping in for a drink and/or something to eat if you find yourself in Bembridge.

Currently sat in the heated rear garden seating area having just finished THE best roast I’ve had on the island by far. I’ve had a few meals in Frampton’s before, but never a Sunday lunch. I couldn’t believe the flavours, and every aspect of the roast from incredible giant yorkies, to perfectly cooked roasties, and our slow cooked lamb was just incredible and all for such great value. We had a family meal on the Sunday, some had the roast dinners while others had choices off the menu. The food was of a good standard and the service was excellent. We enjoyed it so much we returned to have a couples night later...

The roast was ok but the service was slow, to say the least. No one asked if we'd like another drink, or checked how our food was and despite asking for the dessert menu and waiting almost 30 minutes for it, we then had to ask again. Didn't bother in the end in case it meant another long wait. Vegetable portions very sparse indeed. The waitress was run off her feet and doing her very best but everything just seemed disjointed and not well organised. The broken/grubby plant pots at the entrance to the garden need removing as add nothing to the surroundings. Shame about the service as the menu is exciting and unusual.

We were hoping to order a takeaway at 7pm on a Saturday night while on holiday. The food looked lovely on the menu. I couldn’t complete the online order because there were no slots left for collection! When I rang the restaurant I was told that I needed to book my takeaway in the morning or ideally, 24hrs earlier!!!! Who on earth books a takeaway a day in advance?!? Here’s an idea for you Framptons; why not only open your ordering system from 6pm or if you can’t do that, perhaps put a note on your website for those without psychic abilities? The food might be fantastic, but for some reason, it’s totally inaccessible unless you can work out what you want and when you want it well in advance. Good luck!!!

Food is good but service is appalling. Went early evening, three adults and two kids, took over an hour to get any food after ordering and only four meals out of five arrived. Nice decor and garden, shame about the setvice

The food was lovely, the service however was pretty poor. There isn't enough staff to wait on the amount of tables. Definitely need more waiting staff. It's very small and seems a bit confused of its identity, is it a wine bar or a restaurant or a cocktail bar. Waited ages for drinks to the point where we just got our own drinks instead of waiting for the staff.

What a great little wine bar/ restaurant! A nice sheltered courtyard out the back for al fresco dining and suitably spaced tables inside. We had a well made expresso martini to start. Starters were large and the mains had many choices. I had the brisket flatbread with wedges. Paul, the owner was extremely pleasant. Enough choices for the vegetarian too.
