A lovely location. Great food and drink only issue I would have is that the cost of a mug of tea and a small piece of cake was £6.45 which, to me, was pricey to say the least.

After walking past here numerous times and it being packed we finally got to stop and try. Sharing a bottle of wine and I had a lovely strawberry drink we had a very pleasant lunch. We tried the fish finger sandwiches with tasty homemade tartare sauce, and prawn and avocado, all served with a small side salad, and shared some skin on fries. I couldn’t resist some of the delicious Isle of Wight ice cream . We did have a wait while the food was being prepared and cooked but sipping our drinks and enjoying both the glorious views and the sunshine we were not in a rush and happy to enjoy our wait. Looking forward to returning as we were told they are open year round

We were recommended to go here for food, breakfast or brunch it wouldn't matter as we were staying on Cliff Edge directly above it. As I've very recently had a total knee replacement, and still walking with sticks, I wasn't overly keen about negotiating the steep cliff path either up or down but the temptation got the better of me. And I'm really glad it did!! On a day when the weatherman promised cold and rain, we sat in glorious sunshine and warmth eating one of the best full English breakfasts we've ever had on the edge of the esplanade watching dogs playing in the surf. Fins is owned by two sisters who have created a destination venue for great food, they have an extensive menu, enough to give everyone a chance of finding something to their taste but not too much to be confusing. They clearly use local produce from local suppliers, you really can taste the difference. A wide choice of beverages are available including the staples teas and coffees but also an exciting selection of fresh smoothies, chai and matca teas and more. Good service coupled with good food and reasonable pricing is a winning combination, and Molly and Betty have smashed it. And the paths not as bad as people think it is

Excellent cocktails as a pit stop walking back to Shanklin. Great service, lovely location on the beach. A perfect stop off between Sandown and Shanklin for a late afternoon drink. Good cocktail menu freshly made

This is a cafe with fantastic food, location and a view… unfortunately the service is terrible. I don’t think this is deliberate, more a lack of organisation system and prioritisation of what’s needed to be done. Eg waitresses scattergun clearing bits of tables then taking orders then disappearing etc. 1.5hrs from seating to our food arriving and no communication, asked for our order to be taken after people around us were served before us (and they’d arrived after we had!) chasing orders etc. No apologies when food finally arrived and no follow up to ask how things were. We paid anyhow, but was frustrated a lack of follow up from the staff, no one asked at the till how it was. Also be aware there are no bathroom facilities on site. Would like to visit again though and hope the management organise the service better.

My wife and daughter enjoyed their smoothie bowls, when they eventually arrived 45 mins after ordering. I ordered a full English, my son just a couple of slices of toast. After a couple of enquiries, and being told it was just coming, my son’s toast came out, exactly an hour after ordering. By this time I’d given up hope of it ever arriving, so left and bought a breakfast in a different cafe. Which is a shame, as it looked quite nice. I won’t go again, frankly I don’t have the morning to waste. We kept being told the breakfasts were coming (they never did), and that they were busy. Irrelevant! They continued to serve people who in arrived well after us. They could have come and said sorry, we’ve forgotten your order, we’ll process it now….but no, ignore the customer, tell them nothing, and make them wait seems to be the accepted level of customer service here.

Excellent location, really fantastic food, individually prepared - hence expensive and with a long wait - about an hour and a quarter for brunch. Maybe we just got there at the wrong time, so we will go back when not so hungry or with things to do later. Frozen yogurt and fresh fruit bowl around £14. It's a real treat of a destination especially when it's sunny, although the covered area seems to keep the worst of the wind/rain off too. PS. I’ve reached that stage in life where, theoretically, I have more time than ever. But actually it’s running out too, so I do hate wasting it.

Just stopped off on our ride from Cowes to Sand down. Stumbled upon this little gem just as the heavens opened and spent a couple of hours sampling the menu. The Brunch was excellent with great friendly service and fab views despite the rain. Would highly recommend.

Stopped for a cream tea which the wife enjoyed. Usual 2 scones provided with jam and clotted cream and a good pot of tea. They normally do Gluten Free cream tea but due to high demand had sold out of GF scones. They were however able to supply GF cheese scones so I had a savoury version of cream tea, 2 GF cheese scones, a tomato chutney and a cream cheese. Was very nice and would recommend.

A very peaceful place to stay, in the centre of Newport, conveniently located, close to the bus station and to restaurants. Charming interiors, with a lot of character. Spacious, comfortable and clean room. Breakfast is served, and freshly prepared after the order is made. Hostess is friendly and Staff polite. We will definitely stay there again!

Stopped here for tea and we're so glad we did. Loose leaf tea in a china tea pot (not one of those awful stainless steel ones that dribbles all over the table), a tea strainer, china cups and saucers and a china milk jug - this is how tea should be served. The Bakewell slice and chocolate cake were both delicious and the portions very generous. The friendly welcome and engaging staff added to the enjoyment. Looking forward to the next visit.
