We went early in the evening , and we all enjoyed our steaks on the stone . I had the fillet, and the others had sirloin and ribeye. All were very good .I had a coffee that was really good and tasty . Top coffee lol. Total bill around £230 but well worth the money .

This is our second visit to The Cow. I do think that it has gone downhill since our first visit last year however this is just based off our experience. Our food took 50 minutes to arrive which for 4 burgers and chips ia to long esp with kids. The kids meals are tiny. My 6 year old was confused and upset that his meal was so small, the kids burger is like a slider size and they got a bowl the size of a side plate bowl with the burger and chips, fine size for my 2 year old maybe at a push 4 year old but 6 year old it was to small. Kids meals are £8 for that which is dissapppinting kids dont get any drinks or dessert just a tiny meal. My burger the chicken burger was lovely and husbands was good also. We also ordered the onion rings, you get 10 onion rings and its £10. This is way to much and not worth the £10 price tag for onion rings. When it said tower I was expecting a lot more for £10. It is expensive for what your getting for kids meals and sides. The bill comes up and is wrong we got charged for items we didnt have but no sorry from waitress just a ill change it and then when the machine is passed to you the first thing it says is about tip it gives a 10%, 15% or 20% choice...... we arnt in the US this shouldnt be the first thing on the machine its very tacky and you should be able to tip as you see fit. Not sure we would return again.

Sunday lunch 29th September Decided to give their pub another go as reviews looked hopeful. Even spoke to a couple the next table who said you won’t be disappointed. Firstly the table was a little sticky and the reserved sign has dirt on it ! Looked like gravy. Chair was wood and no cushion so uncomfortable for anything longer than a few minutes. I had to go out to my car to get my coat as I was cold. My husband ordered at the bar and returned with a very flat looking beer. Apparently they are unable to get a head on it ! Something to do with the machine. Food arrived and I was shocked. The child meal or mini roast was on a the smallest plate yet they had piled it with vegetables that you couldn’t sort it so my son could actually eat with any decorum. There was a Yorkshire pudding on top that was limp and doughy- not crispy as they should be. Potatoes are clearly deep fried as crispy but just a tad too and no flavour as you wouldn’t want to ruin the oil would you. Mine and my husband’s Yorkshire puddings unfortunately looked the same so I asked for some cooked ones. They came out the same. The potatoes were appalling as well. No salt and pepper on the table to add some flavour. Had to ask. Both my husband and I had asked for double meat which you pay a little more for. Even when the server brought mine out he said ‘chicken ?’ I said I ordered ‘chicken and pork’ !! Oh yes he said there is pork as well. I’d have to forgive him for not seeing it though as it was almost non existent. No crackling which was clearly being eaten by half the other diners as you could hear them but not on our plates. To enjoy cauliflower cheese you can order this on the side at a cost. It looked like it had been dipped in mustard and there was little sauce but a dry coating of cheese tang to the cauliflower. It was just weird. You can order extra stuffing, potatoes and even limp Yorkshire’s at further cost. Thankfully we did not. So we spent over £60 and was left wanting. The server was in his own and not checking his diners. We left within 40 minutes. Shamefully I feel I have to write this as the other reviews are misleading. I really wouldn’t waste your money.

Disappointing drop in standards. As a regular visitor to Yarmouth on a boat, have been buying coffee at PO41 since it opened and have always found it to be a good experience and the staff to be friendly and helpful. Sadly today was very different. The young lady behind the counter displayed a combination of downright rudeness and indifference. I was taking new crew there and had told them to expect a delightful experience. I was embarrassed that this was not the case. My female companions took their time in deciding on their choice of coffee and cake and one could sense the very real impatience by the server. She practically threw the cake plates down on the counter. She was very aggressive in her voice and manner. The situation didn’t change when she brought the coffees to the table . When asked for sugar, she rudly pointed at the end of the counter as if we were idiots for asking. We observed that none of the staff were friendly to boat crews reserving their smiles for regular locals. Today’s team had clearly not been trained in customer care making the whole experience unpleasant. So sad to see this change in attitude and I will be reluctant to recommend PO42 and visit again.

I use chessel cafe quite often as I think it has a nice feeling about the place very clean, friendly staff and nice ambience however i think the coffee is way overpriced as you only get a small pottery cup pour that into a normal cup and it wouldn't even be half full also had a toasted teacake very small and asked for some cheese to go with it was charged £1.50 for two small slices of cheese just think it's very overpriced

The team at The Llama Tree could not have been more helpful and friendly when we asked if we could host part of our wedding there. We love West Wight Alpacas, just over the driveway, and we thought how wonderful it would be to feed our guests pizza after an experience feeding (and walking!) the animals. We struggled to choose from the pizza menu because everything sounded delicious! So the team did an even split of all their topping options and honestly, I'm still struggling to pick a favourite! Us, our families and our friends all enjoyed their pizza and audibly agreed with an Aunt when she said 'this is the best pizza outside of Italy!' The Llama Tree team decorated their space with very pretty wedding decorations and set the table beautifully. They kindly boxed up leftovers which did not last long - enjoyed and complimented again as an evening snack... and once more for breakfast! Thank you to all at The Llama Tree and West Wight Alpacas for making our first day as husband and wife so memorable!
