Great food at a great price! Lovely setting and brilliant service from staff. Highly recommend to anyone either visiting or local to the isle

If you’re on the Isle of Wight and craving a seriously good burger, The Cow should be high on your list. As they proudly advertise, they serve one of the tastiest burgers on the island—and they certainly live up to the claim. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, the burgers here are a standout. The atmosphere is welcoming and casual, complemented by a team of friendly and attentive staff who make you feel right at home. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food, and it’s a great spot for families or groups of friends looking for a satisfying meal. The venue is clean and well-kept, with spotless toilets that reflect their attention to detail. While the food is well-priced, the cocktails are on the pricier side, which may be a small downside for those looking to pair their meal with a few drinks. Note: The Cow is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan your visit accordingly.

At first we weren't sure because when you pulled into the parking lot it looked more like an amusement park. However, the restaurant is located behind the parking lot on a large lawn and the food is simply delicious. You can hear the salad crack because it is so fresh. The meat melts in your mouth. Absolute recommendation.

Overall a disappointing meal. Service was good but for a place that specialises in burgers they were really not great. Beef burger was overcooked, tater totes needed more time in the fryer. The chicken burger was particularly poor. The patty was just a chicken breast covered in spices and broiled. Fairly basic, what you might throw together yourself at home. The chips that came with it were also old and had been refried. Greasy and with a chew to them. For £20 a burger the standard is way below par. Disappointing. Wouldn’t take much to do a much better job.

Had been reccomended by lots of people. Thought the menu would of been larger but a fair selection of burger or steak. Glad I visited. Not keen on looking out the window at what your eating...I know where it comes from but seeing it there...little wierd. Plus the ridiculous cow as you enter showing the different cuts of meat...for a butchers shop yes...restaurant..no in my opinion. Not the best burgers on the island but worth a visit.

An amazing restaurant in the fields offering the best locally made burgers from their own grown cows. The experience is unforgettable. It's just like my old memories of visiting Jeju Island in South Korea.

Great food. Great cocktails. Super fast service - we were in and out in around an hour. It was expensive and perhaps more so than it was worth but we didn’t mind too much. Only annoying thing is we went for a special occasion (my birthday) which we mentioned when booking, yet no birthday service was provided / it wasn’t even acknowledged which was a little disappointing.

We visited twice during our holiday. Once for a quick drink and some bar snacks, and another for a roast dinner. The service and the food were incredible on both occasions - the roast dinner was the best I've ever had (sorry, mum!). The bar and restaurant are both dog friendly, and they were fantastic in understanding and accommodating a coeliac within our group

We ate here Sunday after visiting Tapnell Park. Adults 2x burger mains Kids x2 burger mains Wings Coleslaw Kids x2 Icecream 1x Sticky toffee pudding I would say the burgers are okay. For us, the burger sauce was something we've not had before, definitely unique to this restaurant. The portions are on the small side (small plate for your burger and chips). The kids main is £8 and it's a very mini burger and chips. I'm not sure, but a mini burger is not big enough for any kid over the age of 6. The chicken wings were far superior to the burgers! They were tasty! Overall, I think it was expensive, just under £100 for 2 adults and 2 kids! No alcohol, etc. Would I recommend this place? Probably not. I think you would find better value elsewhere. If you go, have the wings! Service was nice and polite. Only criticism would be, was we were never asked how we like the burger cooked or told how they would come.

Great experience, very good burgers. We visited when it was busy and the service was still very good. The calves menu is a good size for 6-9 year olds and had some salad (cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes) which was good to see. Would recommend booking in advance. Not a lot of options for vegetarians - but it is called "The Cow"...

Food is blend .chicken breast prob sliced in half as very thin, dry and overcooked. No flavour overpowered by a rosemary or Italian herb ? Only good thing was the kids milkshakes . Not worth the money and wouldn't go back .

Solid burgers with unique flavors. Chips were fantastic. Mac & cheese was also amazing. Views were spectacular.

We visited here recently with a party of 16. They had no trouble catering for us with orders being taken promptly and food all coming out hot together. Rump steak cooked perfectly. Couldn't fault it at all. Highly recommend the espresso martini.

Had a fantastic steak meal there, & the other dishes ordered were great too.

It was okay, but at £66 for lunch of three, it feels a bit steep as it wasn't that great... for comparison, we had a lunch meal at Weatherspoon 'Man in the moon' the next day, for under £26 (final bill) and all equally happy. Thanks.

We have Just celebrated are daughters 18th birthday decided to book the cow for birthday meal for family was a party of 14 food was 10/10 tasted fresh and flavousome was nice and hot ,quick service .atmosphere was great the watreses were absolutely brilliant even helped with the cake (thankyou:-). Will definitely be going again thanks for a lovely birthday 🎂 🥳

Best burgers we have ever had! Staff great & love the venue.

Just came for lunch but was seriously impressed with the burgers. Proper chunky, meaty beef burgers. None of this slightly anaemic greyish beef you sometimes get - these are fat proper meaty slabs in a bun. Definitely worth the price. Lots of other stuff here like axe throwing and archery so presumably you can choose your burger beforehand? Lots of space in the restaurant although would assume it gets rammed in summer. Good service and other options (including gluten free) on the menu too.

Sadly, unimpressive food that was just about okay.

Everything about this place was perfect. We heard about it in an Isle of Wight guide as we were holidaying there last week. The magazine promised the "Best burgers in the Isle of Wight" and boy did they deliver. Everything was so delicious, we'll definitely be coming back when we return to the IoW. We had a couple burgers each with fries and I specifically had the Caramel milkshake which was so good and the sweetness was such a huge contrast that every bite felt like a new one as I took a swig of water occasionally. If you're ever in the IoW, you owe it to yourself to go to this place.

We just stopped by to see the famous collection of Decorated Cows at the Restaurant and for a light snack style Lunch. We had the Dirty Fried, Rosemary Salted Fries and a Garlic bread, all shared between the two of us. We sat outside in the sunshine surrounded by the Herd of multi coloured and designed Cows. A very pleasant environment to sit and eat. The food was exceptionally tasty and the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and polite. I would definately recommend a visit to the Restaurant and to see the cows.

This was our second visit here to eat at ‘The Cow’ restaurant & Bar, as before, we had pre-booked just to be safe, we needn’t have as there was plenty of room. We were greeted at the door & shown to our table, seating is at wooden tables and chairs with some wooden benches too, they’re comfortable with cushions/throws on them. We ordered drinks, a G&T, a Bloody Mary & a Caramel Milkshake, the milkshake was especially good, delicious in fact, the Mermaid G&T was good too, the Bloody Mary was good, albeit VERY spicy (be warned). We ordered a number of dishes, (see pictures), Short Ribs were especially good, as was the salad, the burger was OK, but if I’m honest, a little dry, the Mac n Cheese was devoured, it was delicious, the fish (Pollock) Goujon’s were not my cup of tea, the taste was fine, but I don’t want to see skin on fish, the Halloumi Fries/sticks were OK, but hard too, over crispy, the onion ring tower came with maybe 10 or so onion rings, but they were over done & the batter was hard/too crunchy as well. £100 was the bill for the 3 of us, value for money, I’m not too sure, they used to call their burgers ‘the best on the island’ 🤔 The staff were all lovely, especially our server who was funny, amiable & very patient waiting for us to order our drinks/food. Scone things were very good indeed, sadly others were not. Will I go back? Probably, 7/10.

Good if you like burgers and stake, food presented well, but a limited menu, although in a large barn setting, nice throws on seats and cushions, so comfortable. Staff were very professional and were kind enough to let us take a birthday cake.

I make my own burgers, choosing the beef and mincing. I can say the cow serves some of the best out there , and if Iam right even the gherkins are made in house and the best. Chips with skins on with salt and rosemary, great combo. The happiest staff I have met in a long while. The cow deserves to do well, other businesses please take note.

Huge Burger. 😋 £20 a pop is a bit pricey! If you're not huge eaters you could prob share one. Friendly service. Great spot for families. Nice local gin.

🤠 Proper Beef Burgers 🍔 The Cow, located at Tapnell farm, serves fresh Burgers that are full of flavour and have the option to be topped with a range of exiting toppings! The burgers are big, fresh and juicy and care all served with freshly made fries. All burgers have an option for an upgrade with a miniature burger on top! 🍔 We enjoyed the Louisiana Chicken as well as the big Smoke burgers. We also had the dirty fries upgrade but found it had a little bit too much cheese sauce overall which tainted the overall taste of the meal. 🍟 Overall we really enjoyed the burgers at the Cow and we cannot wait to try more of their exiting burger flavours on our next visit! 🐄🍔 🌟 Recommendations: The Big Smoke Burger ( Pictured) ⛔️ Drawbacks: Too much cheese sauce on the dirty fries. 🌟🌟🌟🌟/ 5 Stars

It's rare I leave a review, but The Cow absolutely deserves it. Tapnell farm is the perfect setting. We sat outside and ordered at the bar, the staff were wonderfully pleasant and the food was incredible! I think it will be a new regular spot on our yearly visit to the island.

The cow is a quirky, pleasant place and the burgers are delicious.

Good burger and chips. Would have been nice to have a side of something on the plate, but tasty and the kids loved the cows. Good for families and we didn't feel awkward about making too much noise.

First time visit to The Cow for an evening meal with family. We were greeted by friendly staff who were very welcoming. Our server was very friendly and efficient, checking up on us making sure everything was all okay. The food was great too and everybody else loved their food too. I would highly recommend this place and would visit again.

This place has been described as serving the best burgers on the island, that may be a slight overstatement however the food is absolutely top notch. We went here for lunch after spending the morning at Tapnell Farm. Excellent service and great food you must visit this place for a meal if you come to the Isle of Wight. Highly recommend it!

This place is very pleasant, large spaces with games for children, organized especially for families. we took a hamburger sandwich, really tasty. Prices in the English average. Recommended

Great tasting Burger & Dirty Fries!

Nice place and great idea for diversification. Staff were very nice but it’s go up to the bar to order type place. Other reviews raved about the food. It was ok but not worthy of 5 stars. 10oz rib eye was v thin and although asked for it to be rare came back medium to well done. Burgers were also charred too much. Not cheap either for what you get. Overall worth a visit with the kids but don’t expect anything beyond the ordinary as far as the food goes.

Great food - probably the best burger I've ever had! I went for the big smoke and can highly recommend.👌🏼 Just bear in mind these are proper burgers, not your McDonald's thin patties cooked to death. The kids weren't a huge fan, not being accustomed to proper meat 😂 Relatively pricey but well worth it. Staff could have been more attentive, I needed to chase them down to get a water refill, but not bad at all. Overall, love the restaurant, and love what Tapnell have done with this space!

A lovely venue with massive portions. The service was also really quick and responsive. It’s dog and kid friendly and, on a nice day, there are tables both inside and out. So, lots to choose from

The air-conditioning was definitely the highlight of the meal on this very hot day. the setting is beautiful and the view from the mezzanine area unparalleled. However the food was the letdown. We didn't like the texture of the burger (it's not grainy.. Tastes a bit sausage meat... Also has a weird taste of bacon or something in the patty itself?) The kid's burger was very small.

Food tasted amazing, the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive, and the atmosphere is always nice (made even better by the live music). Can always recommend the Cow for a good burger!

The best burgers we have ever eaten. We were a group of 8 plus a toddler and everyone who had one agreed it was the best burger they’d ever had. One adult in the group chose something from the children’s menu which the staff were happy to allow. Two people shared the platter of 4 mini burgers and they were able to swap out one they weren’t keen on for a second of another which was no problem. 100% recommend!

The food here was fantastic, we booked for 40 of us and we had a private area which was perfect with having children with us!! The staff went above and beyond, they were super friendly and polite. The food again I couldn’t recommend enough, thank you kitchen staff!! I can see why they have such good reviews! I would definitely return!!!

Sadly gave up waiting and left. Waited to be seated whilst 3 waiting staff chatted, saw food plates but no one collected. Eventually got given a menu but again waited and waited for order to be taken whilst same 3 staff chatted. No staff seemed sure what to do.

Went mid week evening in June. Laid back atmosphere with cow themed decorations. We each had burger with 2 opting for daily special of chilli burger . Huge portions. Burgers were terrific and very well put together. Dog was welcome which was a bonus. Would highly recommend.

1st time visiting today. Had a biscoff espresso martini was delicious. Me and hubby had the 10oz ribeye steak with garlic butter. Was honestly the best steak we've had . Would highly recommend

Following the previous reviews, we wanted to see what the place was like… and, it was magnificent..!! Food was superb and well priced.! Table service was well covered and professional. If you are taking a break on the island, book a table and have some great food.. it really is worth the visit..!!

Best burger I think I have ever eaten! Superb service!

I visited the Isle of Wight as my partner was doing the Isle of Wight ultra challenge, we visited the cow the last day we were there, when I tell you I wasn’t hungry because I’d scoffed down a full English breakfast 4 hours prior, I was not hungry at all. So me and my friend decided to share the 4 mini burgers with loaded fries (which between us was actually so much food!) and when I tell you I ate every. Single. Morsel. I wasn’t even hungry but these burgers were absolutely, hands down, the BEST burgers I had ever tasted and the loaded fries were incredible too. It was so incredibly delicious that I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. I’m absolutely gutted that I have to cross a body of water to return!!!! If you get the chance to come here, please please do. Sen.sat.ion.al. One day I will be back😋

Amazing place, brilliant for kids and yes they do amazing burgers, and a good selection of beers,the restaurant is fabulous, friendly staff nice vibes.

Wow! What a tasty burger! It was very busy when we went, so the wait for food was a little longer than we wanted but waitress was very apologetic. But the food was so worth the wait, one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The “Shinny shin shin” was my burger of choice 👌🏻👍🏻

Had a lovely experience for our Sunday dinner. The staff were great and the food was also great too. We all had Sunday roast with beef and two had vegetarian option and a lovely atmosphere. Would recognise here to anyone.

Over priced food that wasn't very good. Burger was raw in middle and "blue cheese burger" didn't actually have any blue cheese in it. Kids mac n cheese tasted of nothing but flour.

Best burger I’ve had in ages/ever!

The Cow decor was very good and the staff friendly but inexperienced. I ordered the Moo Blue burger which sadly was overcooked. There was also no real taste of blue cheese as it was drowned out by the salsa. The bun was also not toasted well so became soggy and cold quite quickly. The fries has virtually no rosemary on them despite being labelled as such. The kids sort of ate their Mac ‘n’ cheese but not happily. My wife has the Louisiana chicken and found this also drowned in flavours. My burger was £20 so I did expect better hence my review.
