Fantastic locals pub, always lots going on, great selection of well kept ales, lovely courtyard garden and friendly helpful staff. Best pub in the bay ☺️ should be CAMRA Pub of the Island. 😊 and you can bring your own food, they'll supply all you need. What's not to love about this fantastic pub 😁

The service was fantastic and so friendly. Happy to accept babies which many of the pubs in this area are not!!!! Delicious range of beers and ciders on tap! Around £4-5 a pint

Dropped in to check it out. Enjoyed a Cruzcampo in the garden which had lots of flowers. The two pub cats and the dog were very friendly.

Seemed like the only place in Sandown that had a good atmosphere, as a holidaymaker that is. The beer was good too.

Talk about quirky. Puts a smile on your face. From medieval weapons and suits of armour to a Halloween dungeon. Probably the cheapest pub in Sandown but not short on quality. Great staff great atmosphere.

Supposedly the 2nd best pub on the Island as claimed by CAMRA.🧐 A reasonable choice of ales. No food as far as I could see. I actually liked the suits of armour dotted around the establishment. I would have liked the Butcombe Original poured thru a sparkler. The lady behind the bar did kindly hint that a sparkler was around somewhere but nothing more was said about that awkward matter.😒 I do have to say that I've tasted a really nice pint of Butcombe Original back home in Scotland, served thru a sprinkler, with that all essential creamy head and I'm not sure a sparkler would have improved matters much in this instance. Friendly staff and an otherwise pub of note.

A brilliant, back street wet-led pub. Without a doubt the best in Sandown, six real ales all well kept and great range of drinks for all tastes. Excellent bar staff and a friendly atmosphere. Dog friendly. Highly recommended.

We got the wrong beer and my coke was flat so we left after one drink

Great night out. No food available but you can order take away food too the pub and they will provide you with plates and cutlery. An excellent idea if you ask me

Working on the island and staying nearby. Pub was a great traditional sort of place; selection of ales and cracking Guinness. Pints were very well priced. Staff were really friendly and the locals were a great bunch - cribbage and darts nights when we visited so a great busy pub atmosphere. Extra bonus was the 'takeaway' service - get local food delivered or collected and they provide a plate and cutlery for your meal. A great place, great beer, great people. Wish I was more local!

Great place, the bar has been fully decorated for Halloween, lots of events organised for the weekend. Staff very friendly, had a great atmosphere to the place. Didn't eat there so can't comment.

Brilliant medieval decor. Lovely old traditional English pub. Very nice selection of beers, including cask. They offer the option of you bringing your own food in, which we did and it was the best of both worlds. Very friendly and homely staff. Will be returning, next time we're in Sandown.

Great friendly local pub in sandown just off the main high street popular with both tourists and locals. Great prices. Has a good sized bar area and also a great size beer garden to the rear of the pub. They don’t serve food but are happy for you to get a takeaway delivered and will provide crockery. Well worth a visit

Old style English Pub, with an absolutely charming courtyard garden. They don't do food but you can bring in a take away and they have lots of bar snacks to choose from. Have a good range on draught.

A traditional brittish pub with great real ale and friendly staff. Beer garden to rear. No food, but notices saying your welcome to order a takeaway to be delivered to the pub and they will provide eating utensils.

The interior of the pub is well worth a visit😀. The beer was also well worth a second visit.

Really friendly staff and locals. There was a bit of a wait to get served, but that's not a negative. I would rather wait 5 minutes to be served and be in a fairly full pub with atmosphere than be served instantly in a dead pub. Definitely going back for a lot more of the same.

Not friendly at all got accused of trying to take someone's handbag which was on the bar while ordering a drink believe me I don't need to do that I have enough handbags even the bar maid told the man to shut up . The big man doing the hot dogs tried to start trouble with two people I was with I think he is the landlord not a nice man . I never go in there normally only did because off the charity day will never go in there again . Wrong pub to include when doing a charity day like yesterday. Very clikqy

Owner is horrible shouted and swore infront of my 18 month old daughter Vile he just sits at the bar getting drunk with the customers all day Nasty guy he's so brave he even had to get a customer to be with him when we confronted him He says it's a family friendly pub but it's clearly not

Such a lovely pub. Since moving from Derbyshire this has become our local. They have a good selection drinks with local ales. Really friendly staff and customers. I would highly recommend this pub. Daisy the border collie is a sweetie.

Owners sit at the bar getting drunk all day and generally just rude and so is the blonde lady behind the bar would never go back

Fabulous interior, very friendly, dog's welcome. Real ale festival on Easter weekend with free hog roast Saturday 31. Don't miss it. I now live in Sandown and the Castle Inn is now my local, in my opinion it's the best pub in Sandown.

Visiting sandown for a sort break came across this pub and popped in for a drink great selection of beers beautiful beer garden lovely pub onside too very welcoming with very friendly staff and customers and very reasonably priced will be our regular for our stay here woukd highly recommend.
