The best restaurants in Ventnor East Isle of Wight South East

Pictures don’t do this hotel justice. It’s absolutely stunning inside and out! We had a fantastic stay! The breakfast was excellent and the hotel facilities were great. Thank you Hillside Hotel we can’t wait to return.

Always a very tasty dish served at Cantina. Along with the warm welcome everyone receives, this is a lovely place to have a meal.

I booked Studio room 1 for a single night. Large bed, 2/3 person sofa and then in the bay window 2 armchairs. Great bathroom with a large bath and a good sized shower cubicle. Sounds large? Yes it was and then there's the balcony with sea views over Ventnor harbour. None of this craning your neck to catch a glimpse of the sea, this was a proper face on sea view. Great choice of breakfasts at an extra charge. Helpful and friendly staff. So would I stay there again? Absolutely, 100%.

We arrived at 3.30pm for tea and light snacks en route back to our holiday cottage. 4 adults and two dogs. We were at first impressed by the lovely views and sat down to peruse the menu. A man called Paul arrived at our table and immediately looked at his watch and said you having got a lot of time to order any food , I enquired what the last time for ordering food was and he said he would have preferred we had arrived earlier, as 4pm was the sort of time they wanted to stop food. We were there at 3.30pm prepared to spend about £50.00 with snacks and drinks but his face looked angry as he shrugged his shoulders when I reminded him it was only 3.30pm. So annoyed at their overpriced snacks and tea at £2.80 per person we decided that this establishment did not warrant our custom or money beyond a drink as I was with my 82 year old relatives who needed a drink. We had the tea and left. Paul if your cafe is doing so well that you can turn trade away then thank god you have a view as there would be nothing else to bring tourists to your cafe / team room. Give this place a miss , they don’t need the custom and your not missing anything either.

Delicious meal at Amarcord on NYE. I had been craving Lasagne all day, and it did not disappoint - it really was good and clearly homemade (the only kind of good Lasagne in my opinion). Meaty, saucy and so so cheesy!! Nice hint of oregano and the bruschetta on the side was plentiful and fresh. My Partner had Pizza which was very well made, nice pillowy crust and none of the dreaded soggy bottom that ruins Pizza for us. Friendly service, good wine and Prosecco in a relaxed environment and at a very reasonable price. Another great Restaurant in Ventnor. Thank you Fabio & team!

Good size meals, especially breakfasts. Good cuppa, no frills just true value, friendly staff. I would visit again and recommend this café.

We ordered 2 breakfasts and lattes, these were very good and tasty. Friendly staff and ambience good, only marked down as the seating appeared to be made of pallet type wood, so could snag on clothes or give splinters....

This place is a godsend for parents looking to entertain little ones on a wet day. Lots of toys, soft blocks to climb, and hot coffee for parents! I have a 3 yr and 1 yr old - and they were both happy for a good hour and a half.

Best located restaurant on the island overlooking the sea

As someone who live to the rear of this bar I and many others have complained about the excessive noise, anti social behaviour, drunks flowing into the rear car park as if it part of the bar's property . They also use the car to park their vehicles as if their own yard without paying for a ticket. The children's slide and climbing area (if approved) is monitored from a distance! With all the anti social behaviour around this area the owners do nothing to help improve it; especially the noise polution this bar and it's clientele create! The "new. Management " promotion is a joke! Just the same anti social crowd! No respect for any neighbour even after the recent "noise complaint" raised with the council! Close the place as it should not have rear access / facilities within a residential area! Gives Ventnor a bad image!

Small quirky place. Outstanding authentic Italian food. Great friendly service. Unappealing exterior conceals the treasure inside . Highly recommended

The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are so helpful especially Hollie who contributed to the amazing experience. I will definitely be returning again.
