Good pub menu. Excellent quality food, produced quickly. Friendly staff and lively atmosphere! Plenty of tables and sports TV.

Pictures don’t do this hotel justice. It’s absolutely stunning inside and out! We had a fantastic stay! The breakfast was excellent and the hotel facilities were great. Thank you Hillside Hotel we can’t wait to return.

This place looks nicer from the outside than it is. It's a serviceable pub but nothing special. Would recommend the Crab and Lobster Tab nearby as a nicer venue with a bit more atmosphere

We arrived at 3.30pm for tea and light snacks en route back to our holiday cottage. 4 adults and two dogs. We were at first impressed by the lovely views and sat down to peruse the menu. A man called Paul arrived at our table and immediately looked at his watch and said you having got a lot of time to order any food , I enquired what the last time for ordering food was and he said he would have preferred we had arrived earlier, as 4pm was the sort of time they wanted to stop food. We were there at 3.30pm prepared to spend about £50.00 with snacks and drinks but his face looked angry as he shrugged his shoulders when I reminded him it was only 3.30pm. So annoyed at their overpriced snacks and tea at £2.80 per person we decided that this establishment did not warrant our custom or money beyond a drink as I was with my 82 year old relatives who needed a drink. We had the tea and left. Paul if your cafe is doing so well that you can turn trade away then thank god you have a view as there would be nothing else to bring tourists to your cafe / team room. Give this place a miss , they don’t need the custom and your not missing anything either.

We come to Ventnor on a regular basis, and the first evening out is always this place, never disappoints, ever changing specials to compliment the standard but superb tried and tested main menu, we had starters from the regular menu, and the chicken specials, absolutly perfect in all ways. The waiting staff are fantastic, professional and ultra friendly, see you next month when Emily and I return.

Good size meals, especially breakfasts. Good cuppa, no frills just true value, friendly staff. I would visit again and recommend this café.

We ordered 2 breakfasts and lattes, these were very good and tasty. Friendly staff and ambience good, only marked down as the seating appeared to be made of pallet type wood, so could snag on clothes or give splinters....

This place is a godsend for parents looking to entertain little ones on a wet day. Lots of toys, soft blocks to climb, and hot coffee for parents! I have a 3 yr and 1 yr old - and they were both happy for a good hour and a half.

We had the most wonderful stay at The Hambrough. We had both rooms with the balcony’s and they were beautiful. So relaxing to sit out on in the morning and evening. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We had a delicious breakfast both days and felt welcomed and well looked after by all staff. I would love to stay again one day.

Stopped for lunch, and had sandwiches with cakes, they were ok, but not the best crab sandwich I had on my trip to the IOW, but ok. Cakes the same, ok nothing more. Service good, but just felt it was lacking something, and the place looked tired and in need of a refurb.

The chops were very tough and dry.

Went on a Saturday night. Was very quiet. This place deserves to be busier! Excellent food and service, with a view onto the coast and sea. Seafood coconut curry was excellent

As someone who live to the rear of this bar I and many others have complained about the excessive noise, anti social behaviour, drunks flowing into the rear car park as if it part of the bar's property . They also use the car to park their vehicles as if their own yard without paying for a ticket. The children's slide and climbing area (if approved) is monitored from a distance! With all the anti social behaviour around this area the owners do nothing to help improve it; especially the noise polution this bar and it's clientele create! The "new. Management " promotion is a joke! Just the same anti social crowd! No respect for any neighbour even after the recent "noise complaint" raised with the council! Close the place as it should not have rear access / facilities within a residential area! Gives Ventnor a bad image!

Been living on the Isle of Wight for 6 years now and we went for a walk with family and decided to have lunch , we all agreed on on fish and chips and have to say it’s the best I’ve had on the island , lovely freshly caught fish and you could tell it’s cooked perfectly and very generous lovely indeed took me straight back to the 70s when I was a kid and my mum used to get the large filets from the fish monger for our Saturday treat homemade fish and chips .
