It was a lovely meal. We had chorizo and chicken skewers for starters and salads with three toppings of our choose and grief chicken thigh dish with salad, fries and vegetable. Everything was delicious and yes you had to wait a bit for a food to be served but it's been done from scratch so it takes a time. Worth waiting for. I wanted to mention a lovely staff too, Plum and Luis and Amazing Julia who was helping preparing food and Fabbio ofcourse. All of you went extra mile to make our meal special. Thank you so much. We will be back soon xx

Pleasantly surprised on our first visit to this restaurant, the service was excellent and the staff were on point and overall a very good night out. The sourdough pizzas were very good a long with the starters and salads that our group had and I doubt it will be our last visit either.

We visited without a reservation and luckily got a table. The walls are lined with quirky stuff like steam punk animals, clocks and art. Service was good and food tasty. Would have liked more soft drink options but plenty there for alcohol drinkers. Small place so they cook to order but well worth the wait.

We eat there the last time we came to the IOW and went again. It was as good if not better. If I could give it 6 stars I would. The food was absolutely amazing. Best vegan pizza I’ve had. The dough on the pizzas are delicious and cocktails are fun. We could take our dog which is brilliant as we couldn’t leave him in the holiday home alone. The restaurant is a cool place, the staff are lovely. We were only here for two nights and could have ate anywhere on the island and so glad I ate here.

Another wonderful Italian meal at Amarcord Italian restaurant in Ventnor High Street ,hand cooked and personally prepared by Fabio the owner and served by his lovely staff. All the Christmas decorations and beautiful lights added to a fantastic party atmosphere. Added bonus was a bit of Italian thrown in by Fabio as darling daughter is too shy to speak it and he was very encouraging😅

We have never gone to the Isle of Wight and stumbled upon this restaurant. Absolutely great value. Delicious food. And good value for money. Strongly recommend it.

Lovely pizzas at Amarcord in Ventnor. Great deal for kids too as the ‘kids menu’ is basically most things on the main menu but at half price.

Lovely Small Restaurant, nice variety of Pizza and Pasta, and a selection of Burgers and Steaks to die for, probably one of the best eating out experiences on the Island in 10 years. Friendly Staff. Highly Recommended.

Visited last night with my husband. Greeted at the door and showed down to the basement; which we were glad of as a large and lively group had not long been seated upstairs. I was driving so they had a selection of zero alcohol beers so I could pretend. And husband was happy with his beer selection. We ordered a beautiful tomato and basil brochette to share which was a perfect size to share, so tasty, and fresh. Followed by prawn and crab linguine for me and all the meats (I forget the name) pizza for hubby, with garlic cheese pizza to share. Food was magnificent. They were well staffed and all friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. And the service was fast having arrived and left the restaurant completely stuffed within the hour with a box of left overs which we’ll enjoy later. Best Italian meal for a very long time. Would highly recommend (and to also ignore the negative reviews which almost put us off). Note google reviews 4.7/5 which is more accurate than those we encountered on trip advisor. Recommend a visit for sure. Thank you :)

Booked for an early meal, been before and was very good despite a bit of a wait for the main course, however the menu on this occasion has changed slightly and I think for the better, if that was possible. The sharing board starter was absolutly delicious followed by massive superbly cooked pizzas, the guys that served us were superb and proffesionally spot on, especially the young lady, thank you to Fabio also who came and said hello & goodbye, cannot wait to return.

After an hour and 45 minutes there, only a starter and no main. Don’t book for a group of 10, horrendous service. He was happy for us to walk out without eating

It pains me that I can not offer this restaurant zero stars. To give this restaurant one star from five is shambolic. We were really excited to take our friends here (to what we thought) was a nice local restaurant . Especially as we had two pregnant friends who craved Italian food. We arrived at 19:30, to an okay service and order drinks and our first course. Both of which came really quickly and were delicious. We then waited for 1 hour after ordering for our main course. We questioned the service and received a very confrontational restaurant manager, who not only admitted that our dinners were not ready to be served, but they had not ever been prepared. It was such an unpleasant experience, to learn that this restaurant had no intention of serving us, we left feeling completely hungry at 22:00. Please avoid this restaurant at all cost. It’s not worth it.

Another fantastic evening at this great restaurant. Fabio and the staff were lovely and the food is superb. We enjoyed a selection of starters and a mixture of pasta dishes and pizzas for the main meals. If you haven’t already tried this restaurant, book a table now, you will not be disappointed. Ventnor is very lucky to have such a venue.

I really enjoyed my evening at Amarcord. I have tried a lot of pizzas as I live on the mainland but this was up there with one of the best. They even made us a chilli oil dressing to go on the top. The starters were also so delicious (prawns pil pil and padron peppers) and the service was great. Recommend for couples, friends and families! There is also plenty of choice on the menu and one of our party was a vegetarian and could not eat gluten - this was catered for! Thanks so much Amarcord

Popped in here on the off chance if a table, it was packed but we managed to secure the last table for three, ordered the tapas choice of three, all amazing and just the right amount for a starter for 3 people. Main courses we all had something different and we all said, yes to having it again. Service was laking a bit, a bit of training for the young wiring staff maybe in order, however it was all good, our wait was just about ok but other tables were getting very upset as there waiting time for main courses was over an hour, maybe due to the success of a new resteraunt, we wish them well and we will be back.

Had a very nice meal at that restaurant. Service with a smile. Going there after the most horrid meal at the Spyglass pub down the road was a breath of fresh air! Thank you for a lovely evening at your restaurant. Reasonably priced. Best to...

Friendly local Italian in Carisbrooke which was walking distance from our holiday let so we gave it a try. Overall a pleasant enough dinner, £23 bottle of Sauvignon properly chilled, attentive service, free bread. Decor is rather dated though not as off-putting as photos had suggested, the pasta dishes were tasty and - oddly perhaps - came with a choice of salad or vegetables. The latter (including roast potatoes) would seem more fitting with a Sunday roast than a plate of penne but were nicely cooked and great if you want to really fill up. My chicken with pepper and seafood was a disappointment - somewhat dry chicken breasts in a gravy that wasn't nearly as rich as one might have hoped and generally lacked flavour despite some interesting ingredients. Perhaps I was unlucky. Certainly the place seemed popular and maybe I should have had a pizza.

Michelangelo in Ryde is a must-visit for Italian cuisine lovers. This family-run restaurant near the seafront offers an authentic dining experience with delicious dishes, warm hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere. The menu boasts a variety of Italian classics, from freshly made pasta to wood-fired pizzas and indulgent desserts like tiramisu. The flavors are rich and authentic, with standout dishes such as their seafood pasta and perfectly crisp pizzas. The restaurant’s rustic decor creates a charming, traditional Italian vibe, perfect for family meals, romantic evenings, or gatherings with friends. The service is exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who ensure a memorable experience. Their knowledge of the menu and wine pairings enhances the overall enjoyment. For a taste of Italy on the Isle of Wight, Michelangelo is the place to go. Great food, welcoming staff, and a lovely ambiance make it an unforgettable dining destination.
