Amazing venue, friendly staff and great selection of drinks, atmosphere is electric something for everyone

What a lovely little gem of a place in the right place and time. Superb friendly service and wonderful homemade coffees, cakes and lunch items. Today I had some crumble cake and an amazing flat white. I’ve been touring the country and comparing flat whites and this place is in the top five, maybe the top spot. Wonderful atmosphere of locals very happily returning. After a minor op at the surgery I was really needing somewhere homey and friendly and this is the place. Maybe the only place. Thank you. Decent prices and ample size! I’ll be back!!!

Four of us visited The Hen last week and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The pub had been doing Indian food and well as a comprehensive English menu for some time now, and I’ve heard nothing but good reviews, and we certainly weren’t disappointed. The service and welcome from Belal and his team was excellent, and the time taken to care for one of our party who has a garlic allergy was absolutely perfect. We all agreed that the reports of this being the best curry house around were spot on, and we will definitely return.

This was a home delivery order. 1.5 hours after ordering online, no food had been delivered so I called to enquire why. I was assured by the owner that they were very busy and our order was next to be cooked and delivered. Ten minutes later, a bag of stone cold food arrived. I understand these things happen but the attitude of the owner was awful…defensive, dismissive and rude. I can’t comment on the food as we threw it away but the business owner’s attitude was enough to prompt this review. Horsham Tandoori is much better..:and more reasonably priced!

This local pub is well used by the locals and visitors alike the food is very good on the both days I eat there. The staff and locals are very pleasant and welcoming and a pleasure to meet

We visited the Sunday carvery and wow it was perfect from the lovely staff that welcomed us to the amazing roast the roast potatoes were amazing and it was amazing value for money a fabulous lunch thank you

Delightful pub in the heart of Southwater! Easy to get to and amazing staff. Ansar, the landlord, is very welcoming. Great atmosphere and a large selection of drinks.

Ordered a pizza and sides online, waited an hour for the delivery to arrive. For half an hour it was showing on the app as “quality checking” which tells me it was cooked and sat in the store for half an hour. When it finally arrived; it was cold. Called the store immediately to be told my options were a £10 refund for a meal costing almost £30 or wait another hour for a new one. I spoke to the “manager” who reiterated this. He apparently couldn’t offer a full refund as he had no proof it arrived cold. I asked to speak to somebody further up the food chain than he and he laughed and said the owner doesn’t come in to store and to contact head office. Which I have. Disgusting service, will absolutely not be using again. To top it off I tipped the driver, I’d have been better flushing the cash.
