Four of us visited The Hen last week and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The pub had been doing Indian food and well as a comprehensive English menu for some time now, and I’ve heard nothing but good reviews, and we certainly weren’t disappointed. The service and welcome from Belal and his team was excellent, and the time taken to care for one of our party who has a garlic allergy was absolutely perfect. We all agreed that the reports of this being the best curry house around were spot on, and we will definitely return.

I recently booked a Sunday lunch for a party of 18 to celebrate my 80th birthday. I booked all the different menu choices in advance. Although most opted for the carvery as their main course, there were a few other choices, including vegetarian and gluten-free, and we selected a wide variety of starters and desserts. Despite our large numbers and the fact that there were many other diners, the food was served quickly and efficiently and there was little queuing at the carvery. The waiting staff were helpful and friendly, and the quality of the food was much praised. Many thanks to Andy, Dionne and their team. After the meal we moved outside for final drinks in the spring sunshine

This was a home delivery order. 1.5 hours after ordering online, no food had been delivered so I called to enquire why. I was assured by the owner that they were very busy and our order was next to be cooked and delivered. Ten minutes later, a bag of stone cold food arrived. I understand these things happen but the attitude of the owner was awful…defensive, dismissive and rude. I can’t comment on the food as we threw it away but the business owner’s attitude was enough to prompt this review. Horsham Tandoori is much better..:and more reasonably priced!

Ordered a pizza and sides online, waited an hour for the delivery to arrive. For half an hour it was showing on the app as “quality checking” which tells me it was cooked and sat in the store for half an hour. When it finally arrived; it was cold. Called the store immediately to be told my options were a £10 refund for a meal costing almost £30 or wait another hour for a new one. I spoke to the “manager” who reiterated this. He apparently couldn’t offer a full refund as he had no proof it arrived cold. I asked to speak to somebody further up the food chain than he and he laughed and said the owner doesn’t come in to store and to contact head office. Which I have. Disgusting service, will absolutely not be using again. To top it off I tipped the driver, I’d have been better flushing the cash.
