We came in for a Sunday roast. Was not disappointed everything was cooked to perfection. Also great welcoming from really friendly staff. Keep up the good work guys

Dreadful don’t bother with food, served cold posh dog and chips. Sent it back and had to wait about half hour to bring us a new meal. Another couple were also complaining that the roast chicken dinner was absolutely awful, chicken was very under cooked, veg and roast potatoes were frozen and only just warm. . We felt sorry for the bar server who was doing her best to help and remained calm. She was very professional and very apologetic. Her customer service skills were great, shame the kitchen staff didn’t come out to sort out the issues.

The Lintot has a great ambience with a fantastic balcony area which is great for summers. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious . Whether you are looking for a great meal, a cozy place to unwind or a lively spot to catch up with friends The Lintot has it all!

The lintot landlord and staff are always really welcoming and friendly. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is great. The cocktails are to be recommended. A great place to hang out with friends both during the afternoon and evening. Our dogs are always welcome which is a bonus.

I use the Lintot every week in the capacity of a pool team captain for practice and a league match every other week. The staff and landlord are very welcoming and myself and my team are very pleased to be able to use the pub in that way. The food that we are served at our home matches is very good and reasonably priced. There are 2 pool tables so you can always be guaranteed a game and it costs just £1 a game via contactless or coins. I recommend this pub as a place for any social event as there is plenty of space both downstairs and upstairs.

We went for lunch today and really enjoyed the whole experience. Friendly staff and good value for money and tasty food. we moved to the village 3 years ago and have tried the Lintot a few times. It is now clean, has very fiendly staff and is good value for money food. This time last year the atmosphere & clientel were not good. I would now happily take my grandchildren there.

Arrived at 7.00 Wednesday for a meal, informed after ordering drinks not serving food until Friday! No notice at the bar or on the web site about this. Really bad management, will not be going again, never know when they might be serving food!

No food in the evening available. My girlfriend travelled over by bus to meet me for a bite to eat and because the Tipsy Fox wasn't serving food either I had a kebab and she went home.

We recently had a family party upstairs at the Lintot. The service was amazing and the staff were great. Everything ran so smoothly and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Great location and food superb. Reasonably priced. Ruined though by two regulars (apparently) who eat there most nights. The woman in particular was very loud and kept calling me babe despite me not wanting to talk to them I just wanted to eat in peace....

Odered lamb roast 3 of us ended up changing to beef lamb was all fatty must of been cheap cut for 2 pounds extra you think they get a good cut of lamb .

We had a hectic week & decided to pop down for some early evening pub grub. This pub is convenient for those living in Southwater. It has good decor & staff are very accommodating. Unfortunately it took over 70mins for a couple of burgers & a soup. Appears they are operating on a shoe string & maybe 1 or 2 more staff would help.

We had starters & mains,all ok for the price we paid,salad on the side could have been bigger rather than a mouthful but happy with the price including drinks around £30per head.

We have visited the Lintot on several occasions this year and have not been disappointed. The quality of the food has been very good.

Arrived at 630pm was greated with a warm welcome, seated right away. Our drinks order taken and brought to us within 5 minutes our orders taken. The food arrived 15 minutes later. I had the pedigree ale lasagne and it was hot looked amazing the side salad was fresh and crisp and tasty garlic bread was Devine not too garlicy just enough cheese on top of the lasagne the taste was phenomenal best I've had in a long time. My husband had the Gamon steak with chips and peas he said it was very tasty we both cleared our plates. We then ordered desert the American gateux for hubby and perfiteroles for me both were yummy. Price was very good £46 for it all. The pub was clean and well presented the staff were amazing and helpful. I had read the reviews before we went and we must of been in different places to the other reviewers. Will definitely return.

Live locally eaten here a few times but not anymore You can tell fresh veg isn't being used, it's a shame as could be great in that location.

Had not booked but got seated straight away. Ordered for six people and the food was quick to arrive to our table. Lovely meal helpful staff much improved food compared to previous visit.

We had a large family meal and didn’t book until the last minute. Great friendly staff. Great service and good food.

As we were in the area we thought we would try it out again. But it was awful yet again. Dirty menus, sticky tables. It took 45 minutes for food to arrive. Waiter didn't apologise. It was quiet in the restaurant so who knows why it took so long for food to be prepared. Food was ok, but we were passed it by that time. With 2 children and a dog you don't want to be hanging around. Never again unless something dramatic changes.

Went here with my family for lunch on a Sunday. 9 of us we hadn't booked but nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food was very good and all the .meals were hot. All staff were very helpful and friendly .

We visited the Lintot on the way home and compared to the last time we came here, we really have noticed that prices have shot up for what you get, and also taking into account the quality.

Dated 17th Aug. We were staying local at Barns Green and tried 3 pubs around the area. They either had the wrong menu as advertised on their website or just didn’t tickle our fancy. However The Lintott was a great surprise. We had a fabulous smiley waitress and our food was spot on. No complaints. Went away totally satisfied.

We popped in for lunch (Sunday). Wish we hadn't bothered. Not very busy (arrived about 12.45). There was only the barman & a lad bringing out the food. Food was ok but you could tell it was all out of a packet! Very slow service. The whole place could do with a good clean as there was leftover food & rubbish under our table & it had been there some time. Felt it was overpriced for what it was. We used to come here regularly a few years ago & it was very good. I don't know what has happened but won't be going back anytime soon! Marstons you need to have a very close look at this place!

Just moved to the area, a lovely welcoming service, attentive, helpful but still relaxed , Good food but basic chain pub dishes,would have been nice to see some locally sourced different food dishes which would match the authentic service given . Shame but guess it is a chain !! Well done to the staff a real asset

The Lintot is most certainly a family pub - great atmosphere, decent food and great bar staff. Except for Charlotte. Just kidding, Charlotte's fantastic. Her permasmile is infectious! Zack is also a great and very friendly barman - for example he wasn't even on shift but he rushed to provide a toddler's highchair when required.

Ok. Pleasent surroundings, attentive staff who worked hard to please. Let down by a tired menus which was predictable and lacked inspiration. The food was ok perfectly edible but you are not going to be excited or surprised. I would think it is a good family venue, a place to bring the children, especially those who like pizza,burger and chips.

Great place to come for food or just to have a drink, bar staff are extremely friendly and make you feel welcome, especially Charlotte.

I visit here every day after work for a few drinks, the staff are always welcoming and nothing is ever too much for them, especially Charlotte. She is always guarenteed to put a smile on your face! I can’t comment on the food as I have not had the chance to try it yet, but meals we have seen being taken out look very appetising and well presented. It’s always busy with diners so they must be doing something right! Keep up the good work.

We decided to go out for a meal in the village last night, wish we had not bothered, service was slow, we ordered a sharing platter and two mains , but unfortunately the sharing platter arrived at the same time as the mains, I ordered scampi and chips with coleslaw the chips were soggy, coleslaw looked like it had been around for a while, no sauces offered, had to get our own. We complained about the chips so my plate was taken away then brought back with the same chips, then more were brought out. Just no thought put into it, customer service was nil, such a shame as it could be a lovely pub, but no one in charge or leadership, will not hurry back.

Came here in January and had a fantastic Sunday meal with my family from Spain. The food was great and even had the sprouts 'which I hate' they were disguised brilliantly. Since have visited frequently what a lovely place to take your family or have a beer with your mates.bar staff very welcoming.

Our family came to eat for a birthday celebration on a Saturday night. We were left waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes for our mains. When they came we also we’re given no cutlery so one of my partly got some her self for us. I had the bbq burger with onion rings. The burger was a good portion size however quite dry. Maybe with a change of menu and more staff the Linton could improved.

There were 6 of us out for lunch, the food was cold and I received my pizza after my husband had finished his meal. Waitress was stressed and that came across to the customers. An expensive and disappointing meal.

Southwater is an isolated commuter settlement, contrived from its inception and marooned on the dual carriageway to London. Like inclusive Britain, it has its share of decent folk and those of a lesser God. The whole town is purpose-built so lacks the soul needed to create a living community. A couple of other pubs from days gone by remain but are some distance, so locals are stuck with a tesco metro and this. Been many times, but wasn't prompted to comment due to the crummy furniture, microwaved food and predictable Marstons dreary ales, but there is always a hooligan element in here which is allowed to be drunk and disorderly. In the US, these people would be told to leave, but in the UK- anything goes. When some drunken trash tried to shake my hand and I refused, he become violent. To her credit, the girl behind the bar apologised but of course, took no action. There are decent people in this town, but sadly they have to mix with the worst, and when there is only one pub- this is where they are going to go....you are far better off staying in with your 4 pack from Tesco Metro and a takeaway from the equally dire 'Indian' restaurant. RIP Southwater...

Waiting to be served barmaid ignored me and served two other customers before me who came to bar after me. Same barmaid ignored me the night before, rather show text messages to colleagues than work.

Went to the Lintot during the recent bad weather to celebrate a birthday as its the nearest pub to home. Over time the quality of food and service has varied dramatically but I had been told that things had improved (as we had avoided after previous experience) and this was the case. We were given a very friendly welcome by the girl behind the bar and given a choice of tables. The food order was taken promptly and arrived in quick time (although I expected this as they were not busy). The food was good and the prices were pretty reasonable. We would go again.

My Wife and I along with our 2 Cocker Spaniels are fairly regular visitors to The Lintot and we are consistently impressed with the incredibly warm and friendly welcome we get and more so the attention our canine companions receive.

Decided to pop down to eat as couldn’t be bothered to cook. It was curry night so we decided to go for it. Food was hot and very tasty,service was fantastic. Would definite pop down again for this night as very reasonable. Have since had pizzas here and they have been very good

Came to The Lintot on a Sunday to have lunch with friends. We are from out of town and saw that the pub looks like it's on the up, so we thought we'd give it a punt. We were greeted by a very friendly man who explained that Jody (not sure on names) would be our waitress. She showed us to our table, explained about the specials and took our drinks order. She came back to take our food order and was very chatty and polite. The man delivered our food and made a few whitty comments, which made us all laugh and we knew we were in good hands. The food portion size was small and had clearly come out of a packet, but the chef did reheat it very well. We decided not to go for a dessert because the food wasn't that great but we had another drink as the waiting staff were so friendly and welcoming. I wouldn't choose to come for food but can recommend a Sunday because the staff are friendly, polite and attentive.

Had lunch at The Lintot today with my elderly parents. It was our first visit back there after several years as our last couple of visits had been very disappointing. I’m delighted to say that we were really pleased with the improvements. We were allowed to have meals from the children’s menu as our appetites are small and were very happy with our food . Very good value. Becky looked after us really well and we had a lovely relaxed time. The new decor is very attractive and creates a nice ambience. We will be back. Thank you.

I was taken here on Saturday for my birthday and was greeted by staff with a smile and shown straight to my table which my friends had kindly decorated with balloons. I had an amazing evening all the staff were so attentive and even sang happy birthday to me as they brought out my dessert which the chef had added a candle too an added bonus after receiving a free drink already from the waitresses. The food was delicious, I tried one of their specials which was a beef brandy casserole with rice and opted for an apple and blackberry crumble for pudding. The Lintot is very well priced and a really lovely place to spend such an occasion they all made me feel very special. I will definitely be returning soon!

I came here for lunch in September 2017 and was overcharged for my drinks. I returned to query it and was refunded the difference. I thought I would give them a 2nd chance so I came back on 10 January 2018 with my husband. Again I was overcharged for my drinks (sparkling water) for the 2nd time and when I queried it again I was told that the sparkling water had gone up to £3.95 for a 330ml from £1.45 in September 2017 and that it was so expensive because the water was not produced in their area. Even it all this was correct, my bill still does not tally. I thought I've had enough so I wrote to Marstons to complain and was told I would receive a reply in 7 days, that was on the 11th January 2018, guess what still waiting - don't think I'll be back

I work locally and often come here either with colleagues for a quick bite to eat on our lunch break or to meet friends for a drink after work. This pub just keeps getting better and better the food is delicious I often enjoy one of their pub classics such as cod and chips or their homemade lasagne. The staff are really friendly and very attentive and the recent refurb has made for a warm, welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.

Came here on new years and had amazing time with casino night. Come here often as dog friendly pub and bar staff very friendly. Also good pub food. Highly recommend coming here.

I visited here at the weekend and had a lovely day out with my family. We were very well looked after by the staff who were extremely helpful in letting me know what I could eat as I am gluten intolerant, I opted for the gluten free pizza in the end which was cooked to perfection, I followed this with the gluten free sticky toffee pudding which was equally as good. My grandkids were kept entertained throughout the meal playing with books and toys and interactive tv’s that they have upstairs for them. We will definitely be back for another visit soon!

I have been coming to the Lintot for years and can honestly say it is the best it's ever been! The decor has been updated and is now a lot warmer and more inviting. The staff are very friendly and always go theat extra mile to accommodate any special requests. The food has also seen great changes meals are now fresh pub classics and I'm always tempted by their stone baked pizzas! WoUldale highly recommend Wether you're looking for a good night out with friends or dinner with the family you won't be disappointed!

I came here with friends on Friday night and had a great time. The staff were great fun and even suggested that my partner upgraded her glass of prosecco to a bottle for just £10 (apparently this is every Friday) which kept her happy! We shared a nachos and a Lintot sharer which was delicious and the perfect sharing amount. If you’re looking for somewhere to go I would recommend The Lintot for a fun relaxed evening.

I was visiting family in Southwater today and was taken for lunch at The Lintot. I was pleasantly surprised that i could take my dog in with me and found treats and water for him upon entering the pub which made him very happy! We were greeted straight away and they accommodated us as a table of 6 with ease, my roast lamb was cooked to perfection and i would definitely recommend trying the homemade cauliflower cheese that comes with all the roats. I look forward to returning to this welcoming, relaxing and friendly pub with fresh food at a great price!

I often come to The Lintot either for dinner or just for some drinks to catch up with friends. The staff are always really friendly and helpful on arrival this evening we were greeted by Stacey one of the waitresses and were seated straight away. Tonight our waitress Olivia suggested we go for the curry night offer which is every Thursday so we gave it a go, I had the beef madras which was great and a big portion, my friend had the vegan curry and was equally as pleased. I would definitely recommend it at such a reasonable price just £9.95 for the curry and a free drink with it!

Great improvements have been made. The place has been spruced up. The staff are welcoming, friendly and happy. The new food menu is another improvement with many decent choices.

Yes I agree this pub has a long way to go,we have been coming to the lintot. On and off for a while. It can be hit and miss but tonight service was amazing and food was very nice. Play area upstairs is great and always busy

We booked the table in advance and when we arrived no-one were expecting our party. We then had to wait for the tables to be set up and laid out. Eventually we were seated and given a poorly printed menu on a piece of A4 paper. The table had crayon marks all over it, the salt and pepper pots had something crusty stuck to them!

I went as part of a large group for a Christmas meal. All orders and payment made weeks prior to booking. We arrived at 1 for 1.30 at 2.30 food began to appear. My main course was pork, so tough it was inedible.at least 45 minutes between courses, by 4 pm I had lost patience and didn't wait for the coffee/tea. There were not enough staff to serve. If a pub accepts a large booking they should ensure that they take on extra staff to cope. Terrible, would not willingly return

Came here on Sunday, Stacy and hatti couldn't do enough for us. This was bi far the best food and service we have ever had, they made us feel like king and queens even when they were rushed of their feet. We over heard other customers saying how lovely these two staff members are. We will defiantly be returning!! Good jobs guys!!!

Very disappointing Christmas meal last night. One of our party had the vegetarian option and literally all she had on her plate were two roast potatoes and a lump of pastry filled with spinach and some cheese, it was so hard she couldn't cut into the pastry, dissected it eventually. When she questioned the waitress about the claim that all meals were served with vegetables we were told there was red cabbage on the table. The rest had either Turkey or chicken which was good however the roast potatoes and parsnips had obviously been dished up in advance and heated up and the sprouts were shredded so looked like a pile of cabbage. Two dishes of red cabbage appeared after we were all served. . Not good for a Christmas meal costing £15.99, service was slow but there were several groups there but even so no one offered us coffee and I was left feeling very let down having organised this as a thank you for our friends.

Had a great eve, served by the dream team of Stacie and Hattie! We were rather a demanding lot, but were always treated with smiles. I personally had the best burger to be found in the Horsham area and a sticky toffee pudding, which is legendary. We will be returning soon!

My wife and I went there for a meal last night and it was great. The service was fantastic and the food very pleasant. We basically had 2 bottles of wine, various starters and a great main course each. It all came to less than £60 - a great deal for a lovely evening. I would have no hesitation in going back again.

Jose took really good care of us, thoroughly enjoyed our meal, our main was lovely but have to give a particular mention to our desserts, sticky toffee pudding and strawberry and clotted cream tower.

I only give one star as josie the waitress was so good and overloaded . So the one star was for her . while manager zac stood there putting his fingers through his hair . Doing very little , and not keeping a smooth running team . even when I complained. The waiting time was so long . Orders mucked up . Portion sizes small. Food over cooked . Plates not cleared .and so on . I asked for cutlery twice and ended up eating pudding /ice cream with a spare fork of table . One silly moan is I’ve never known nachos be served without soured cream before I asked for extra sour cream with order to find after . They don’t do sour cream with nachos . I won’t go back again . The old Lintot was great food and service .. it’s so very poor and as a local I’m very dissatisfied

We waited over 45 minutes to receive the start of our order, our 'Leg of Lamb' roast was not even enough meat to be an adult size portion let alone a leg of lamb! We got served the wrong childrens meal, the other childrens meal was served with spaghetti not peas, 2 adult roasts were served with no gravy and cold vegetables, the burger on the children's meal was small and over cooked, all of the vegetables were soggy and over cooked and then we waited another 15 minutes to be told that one of our roasts ordered had run out! 15 minutes later we received the children's correct meal! All in all a complete fail and we were all left hungry and very annoyed. We requested a full refund which was honoured but never have I experienced a restaurant/pub get it so so wrong. Appalling!!

Firstly just don’t bother going here for food. I’m not going to bother. For a pub that’s described as a marstons local where they pride themselves on being a god family pub it’s far from the truth. Nachos cost me £8.50 and they were burnt on the top and half filled with smash bits from the bottom of the bag. Then the mains came. We ordered roast dinners. They ran out of potatoes so just gave us chips without telling us. Waited 55mins for a fatty lump of beef with chips. Absolute shambles. A lad there explained he hadn’t worked here long and all of the staff are relatively new. The boss had gone out to lunch and wasn’t contactable. I get that everyone needs a day off but why would he boss take a Sunday off. That’s a busy pub day, and to leave just a few youngsters in charge for the day. Do not go here for food. Plenty of other nice pubs in the area. I’ve given my contact details to the lad on the bar and expect a call of email from a senior manager about this.

Went for a drink in the Lintot which is next door to the co op place was dead so decided not to eat which I’m told was a wise decision the staff were friendly though
