Lovely welcoming pub , but was freezing . Carvery was lovely but needs to he hotter . No offer of horseradish sauce mustard etc . Sharper knives needed too. Be interested to see if these comments get noted and acted apon

Four of us visited for the first time to try the carvery, did not disappoint at all, in fact it was fantastic, the meats were cooked to perfection and everything else was top notch. A warm and friendly service in a lovely pub. Will definitely visit again, I highly recommend this place.

Very family friendly place for a really nice Sunday lunch. The carvery is great value for money and the kids menu was perfect - our 7 yo wanted to go back every day! Staff are really attentive and helpful. And the beer is good!

We went for a Sunday carvery today. Staff lovely but disappointment with carvery. Everything was hot, but the pigs in blankets were not cooked, chicken with 'supposed to be wrapped in crispy bacon' was not, beef was very very red, roast potatoes weren't the best. Shame. But veg, managed and stuffing lovely.

We had my daughters birthday party here it ended up being 45 kids/parents in total. The staff were absolutely brilliant, so helpful, polite and kind. The food was brilliant, we did a massive order and it all came out pretty much the same time. They made such an effort with every aspect. Absolutely recommend for a party, my daughter had such a brilliant day.

Really enjoyed our afternoon at this lovely local pub. Excellent food at great value. Amazing play facilities for the kids. Will definitely be back soon! Thank you to the lovely and helpful team working today.

If you're calling yourself a 'family pub', please can you make sure the ground in the beer garden is safe for kids running around. Visited in the afternoon with another local family. Kids happy to play on the bouncy castle and play areas. Until one of the little ones cut their foot open on potential glass while running across the grass. Then, in closer inspection around the area. I noticed a lot of rusted nails embedded into the ground with a few sticking up. No wonder the little one hurt her self. Thankfully, one of the mums had a first aid kit and saved the day. Completely put a dampner on our first visit, as heard good things about the pub and that there were bouncy castles for the kids to play on. Unfortunately, I won't be visiting again until the garden is safe for littles to play.

Called in for Sunday roast dinner. Staff are friendly and pub is pleasant. The roast dinners were dismal and seemed like it was just warmed up frozen tasteless vegetable mush out of a packet and a wee bit of roast meat thrown in there. Prices are on par with pubs producing real fresh cooked food. 2/10.

A hidden gem! Traditional pub with stacks of history 16th century?..Excellent menu recently added Caputos Pizza to it…with quality and quantity make it great value, … backed up by a friendly team offering top customer service… Huge family focused garden, with a number of bouncy castles and climbing frames, ….certainly worth a visit

Excellent lunch. Tasty beef and stilton pies and veg. I had a delicous chicken Schnitzel with chips and rocket with a unusual dressing. The dining room is light and bright. Staff friendly and service good. On walking in, the pub has an open fireplace. Very cosy with a crackling fire. I would definitely recommend for an excellent meal.

I visited the Tipsy Fox with a friend for a Sunday roast and we both loved our meals (veggie wellington and roast beef). The service was perfect, the staff were so welcoming and friendly and the food was so flavoursome. My dog joined us too and the staff made a fuss over him which was very lovely. We had a lovely experience! I’ll definitely be returning, with the hubby next time 😊

Service was fast, but kids meals were quite salty. My partner had the pie of the day and it was dry, tasteless and the veg was soggy and overall a real disappointment. It tasted like it had been reheated or left under a heat lamp all day. £65 for a family meal mean it could have gone either way. My chicken burger was pretty tasty as were the chips.

Very poor customer service. Arrived at 12.00 for lunch with a friend. Barmaid hardly acknowledged us because she had problems with the tills. We suggested that she served us and put the drinks on a tab but absolutely no response. Went to the Hen and Chicken up the road which was really good.

Casual, inattentive service. Waited 55 minutes for meal. No apology offered. Despite booking in advance no table available in restaurant, only a cold table at end of bar next to emergency exit. The Gammon was "horrible" and inedibly tough. No serviettes supplied, and when asked for, the waitress could only find two!!!

An overall good experience here, with good food, good atmosphere and friendly staff. A lovely waitress by the name of Amy served us, who was very attentive, despite the fact that it was considerably busy and it was only her behind the bar AND serving food, but despite that did a very good job serving everyone and catering to everyone's needs.

First visit here, me my wife and sister decided all to have the Sunday lunch of roast beef. No choice of how we liked our meat cooked and it came out very rare! Which suits my wife but maybe not me so much and certainly not my sister. After a few minutes of struggling I asked the owner if we could get some steak knives as it was very difficult to cut. So much so my sister eventually gave up with the meat and left most of it. Not once were we asked how our meals were. I’m pretty sure he knew I was not overly happy. My sister was the only one who ordered a dessert, probably because she was still hungry. It was fine although a little on the small side. Then the bill, boy does this place know how charge. I will accept that the price of the roasts were pretty standard but £6.50 for the dessert, £3.60 for half a cup of black coffee (which we asked if some more hot water could be put in it. £2.70 for a small pump Diet Coke, luckily I only had tap water. Then a 10% service charge. Yes I know I should have complained at the time but I hadn’t seen my sister for ages and didn’t want to kick up fuss in front of her. However I am writing this review based on all of the above and the fact it is 5am in the morning and this is the fifth time I have had to visit the toilet since we got home. Make of that what you will. We will NOT be returning!

Interesting history of the building written on the wall worth reading whilst you wait for a truly beautiful dining experience. The actual place is very warming, open fireplace, with lovely little places to sit either at the bar or in the restaurant part . The food didn't take long to come & was surprisingly different in texture & taste to anything else I've tasted - absolutely loved it. At time of visit it was a bit quiet & there was only one guy serving behind the bar & doing the serving of the food orders too but it all went smoothly. Had 2 starters & a dessert whilst my partner had a roast Sunday dinner. Both of us full up with even leaving enough behind for a doggy bag. Definitely coming back.

We went for a few drinks after a meal in the village. It was a very quiet Friday night so not the atmosphere 5 forty something males were after. Called time around 22:40 but wanted to stay on a little longer if we ordered more drinks. This wasn’t an option. Cashing up for done very quickly and staff disappeared. I previously left poor review. HOWEVER!! The owner engaged! I was unsure whether to engage back but actually appreciated a very open and unemotional conversation with someone who came across as an owner who really cares about his business and more importantly his staff. We can all have an option.. leave feedback etc but the way it gets responded to is the real test.
