The best restaurants in Pilgrims Guildford South East

Had dinner here a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic a1 service can't wait to go back

We were delighted to learn that Lee and his wife (formerly at The Donkey Elstead) are managing and running the kitchen at The Barley Mow. We were mourning the loss of The Donkey Sunday Roasts but we are now happy again!😀🥳 Fabulous, what a great community initiative this Pub is ❤️

Nice little tea rooms, very busy, but quick service. Excellent smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich. Plenty of seating. Suitable for singles or groups. One gents and ladies toilet. Craft shop nextdoor.

Really friendly welcome. Kitchen and cafe area were very clean. The garden extremely tidy, must be great for a spot to sit outside on the way to your summer holiday destination. Food was excellent. Very fresh, not greasy at all. The toilets for the most part were clean except no toilet seats in either of the gent’s cubicles. If you use sat nav with postcode to find, be careful not to drive past as it will take you 100m past the cafe.

Is our first time here , we booked for a Christmas Day menu £125 per person we are at last sitting at 4 pm , which means we are the last table to be served , we picked this place because of the menu with what I can have prawn and lobster. When we arrived to our table and seated 16:05pm our table was tiny and is on the stairs where people passed and i couldn’t moved my chairs back to sit in properly but they have sorted it out by moved us to another table that just became available that’s really kind , We order a bottle of red wine to share and large bottle of water , our canapé arrived very quickly , followed with our stater less then 10 mins , Our mains arrived around 16:55pm , my starter and mains was perfectly cooked and presented and tasted delicious , My partner mains was Worcestershire free range turkey ballotine with only 1 piece of turkey in the middle and it was more fatty layer less turkey meat, he cut it off he couldn’t eat it , all the vegetables and the trimmings That comes with my mains which it a lots to have with just one piece of turkey with fatty layer on it , We didn’t complain or make any comment about it because we understand it’s a special day for everyone and we understand that the restaurant were up early to prepare food for everyone, We didn’t get Christmas crackers like everyone else does till our dessert arrived at 17:27 pm , we didn’t bother to ask why and no staff or manager pay any attention to that or even check back on our meals . We left before 6 pm while there’s still other tables there , On our way home we still talking about Christmas crackers we didn’t have this year it’s suppose to be a traditional how you celebrate Christmas Day with family and loved ones , Thank you to the waiters who had been up dine 7am and seated us to a different tables , a lovely waitress who bring warm cooked food to our tables , I feel that I have to leave this reviews after so many thought. We had a wonderful Anniversary dinner at the Squirrel Inn. The staff were very welcoming and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the T-bone steak and it was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. My rack of ribs fell off the bone and I couldn’t finish the portion even though it was so tasty. Looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely pub, been twice and had great meals on both occasions. Beer selection is good and the chicken burger is next level. Service was attentive and friendly.

Booking Caper & Berry for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made - the tasting beforehand blew us away and they delivered over and above that on the day. The staff were all super professional, and Tui & Saskia were incredibly helpful and supportive in the run up. The desserts and cocktails were stand out, we wouldn't hesitate to book Caper & Berry again in the future.

I'm biased because it's my local, but I genuinely love this pub. It's been through a few different tenants over the years, but Dani and George are doing a great job of looking after our pub and keeping the local economy healthy. It's truly the centre of our village and George makes excellent food and still does the basics well.

My surprise birthday lunch was here. Reservations required as the place is very popular. Awesome Sunday roast dinners - a wide selection to choose from. Staff friendly, helpful and pop by frequently to see we were alright and chat. Great local knowledge, we had some good laughs. Good menu selection available. Food hot, tasty and colourful nicely cooked veg. Thank you. Highly reommended.
