Last went here for a balloon ride in the car park. Evidentially went bust and bought by steakhouse. It shows. Nothing spent on drab decor and harvester like signs all over 'christmas lunch 95gbp' etc. soup fine. Staff friendly but untrained (12.5% service) clearly never been to branch of the Ivy to learn. Pensioners steak and ale pie with mash good value at 8 plus service was like pukka pie. Generic glutinous pub gravy on a square of mashed potato. To differentiate it for the old codgers from main menu. Not a single pea, Carrot or bit of cabbage or other veggie. Bizarre. Waitress said she'd feedback but heard no more. Finally they have a tropical fish tank but the green algae was coating the glass. If you have one must be spotless. Quite a lot of punters but needs 100s of thousands to update and not clear who their market is. There current offering is a dud in our view.

We stopped here for lunch. We experienced slow service (despite being the only ones there) - waited an hour for fish and chips and nachos which were simply stale crisps with liquid cheese. The food was really average and the prices were ridiculous for what we had.

Stopped en route to London for a quick meal and had the most fantastic experience at this pub. We were greeted by Dave who couldn't have done more to make our two children feel more welcome. The children's menu was the best they have ever seen, and high praise from our youngest who said it was the best beef burger she has ever had. As well as the usual kids meals they offer much more variety like ribs or steak, all for £10 inc dessert. Outside is a huge play park. Location is perfect if your passing, less than a minute detour from the A3. Highly recommend this pub, and I would suggest to the management that Dave should have a pay rise!

It’s such a shame as this pub/restaurant has so much potential, great location, parking, great outdoor seating areas but the service and more now than ever since a menu change, the food really lets it down. My partner and I visited recently as we do often. I would normally have the chicken skewers and some extra veg on the side as it was the healthiest item on the menu. Disappointingly the menu has changed and there isn’t a healthy option. Anything chicken is deep fried from frozen. Only a starter of a ‘Greek salad’ was offered.. that was disappointing too and drowned in cheap oil. Chicken burger which my partner had was a couple of dry buns filled with a deep fried chicken breast which dripped with and smelled of used cooking oil, a slice of tomato and a dollop of sauce. The coleslaw looked and tasted like the cheapest basics brand from cash and carry. Hugely overpriced and service was almost non existent. What’s happened? This could be such an amazing place with good food and decent staff but until something has been done about the menu which honestly I’ve seen better options at Wetherspoons (many years ago too), we won’t be going back.

Only popped in for a drink. In new hands and looking good. Heaven's kitchen in farnham is excellent, so if it's pedigree reads across, it should be good.

Great lunch venue on a sunny summers' day. I took a risk and went for the liver! It was superb, and others now had food envy. Great people, happy, friendly service. Just a good day.

Met a friend for lunch here and the location is very convenient. Staff were friendly and attentive and it looked like there had been a bit of a makeover since our last visit with bull themed artwork. We opted for the 2 course set menu which was reasonably priced. Starters of calamari and chicken wings were really tasty but the main of sandwich and chips was average. Bread felt a bit dry and stale. Filling was OK and the coleslaw was nice. We did not stay at the hotel so unable to comment

Very underwhelming steak for £37.00. The peppercorn sauce very dodgy tasting, almost cheesy & unpleasant. Table service was very minimal and no one asked how our meal was. These are basic things, I think this establishment can do better.

If I have to be very picky, we never got a check back to see how we were getting on with the food But when your food is this good, it's not an issue! We only had sandwiches & chips and scampi & chips but would definitely have these again

Ate here recently and had the fish and chips. The fish was excellent but the chips were a bit underdone. The meal was a bit expensive for what it was. We were charged over £5 for a bottle of mineral water and a 12.5% service charge was automatically added to the bill. Hence the 3* for the overall cost The service was good.

Food was cooked to perfection with decent sized portions, service and drinks were excellent. Wine was a tad expensive - £8.50 for a small glass of Pino Grigio. £60 for a shared starter, two mains and two drinks (one was 1/2 pint of Landlord) 12.5% service automatically added to the bill! Excellent location just off the A3, with ample parking, and two outside areas: beer garden to the left and covered area to the right.

We stayed at the squirrel for five nights although booked for a full seven days as our son was very ill and in intensive care unit at the royal Surrey hospital . The room was ok but there was some issues. Firstly the television was not working which was important for me once we had left my son-in the hospital I needed something to distract my constant stress re son . The Manager did attempt to get in fix but it failed again . The manager did give us his PC so at least we could watch a film . There was a constant noise all the time from a water pump going on and off although the manager said it was the tumble dryer but that was incorrect as we located the pump adjacent to our room and the switch.also no breakfast was on offer which that is a failure as nowhere near by that we could see . I feel just Continental and cereal would benefit your stay at the squirrel .The Manager was very empathetic towards us with are situations and did offer breakfast when chefs came in, which declined as late morning . The manager and staff where very pleasant and did try and make are stay better they allowed us to use the washing machine and tumble dryer which again help in our situation. The food was perfect no complaints there it’s just a shame the Facilities was not great . We left after 5 nights as son came home so we returned to southampton . My son was altogether in hospital for 10 nights so we spent 5 at a travel lodge and booked 7 night at the squirrel but only stayed 5 in the end .

Yesterday was our first visit to The Squirrel although we are regulars customers at Heavens Kitchen, Farnham. We had a great time, super meal and the usual excellent, friendly service. We'll certainly be going back and am just about to book Sunday lunch as I noticed they will be offering lamb shanks. Yummy. Well done Mario and team. A great new venture. Thank you.

Such a lovely evening for the opening of Heavens Kitchen Steak House. I really hope it does well as you can see the team are putting in a lot of effort. We received a warm welcome and were seated with 2 glasses of complimentary bubbles which was a lovely start to the evening. We chose the calamari and deep fried Brie wedges to start - both were delicious (the chilli sauce with the calamari was nice and spicy!) We then opted for the 50day aged Black Angus fillet and ribeye steaks - both were cooked very well and the accompanying sauces (peppercorn and blue cheese) were great. They’d run out of a couple of the desserts by the time we got round to order them but not too much of an issue and my warm chocolate brownie with ice cream was a great way to end the meal. Service was lovely and friendly and the only issue we had was that our drinks were a little late coming out but it didn’t spoil the evening for us at all. I also loved the DJ who was playing some fab old skool RnB / hip hop tunes. I hope they work out some of the little issues but all in all, we had a great time. It’s not cheap but we found the quality of food to be good so were ok with the prices. Thanks to all of the team for a good night and we wish you every success!

Very disappointing meal out. Food was ok, but nothing special (chicken was overcooked parsnips were undercooked) and very expensive for what it was. We asked for glasses of milk for the kids, and were brought hot babyccinos instead. The kids had asked for beef burgers, and after a 40 minute wait they were brought plates of roast beef (which hadn't even been on the children's menu). After another 10 mins or so they were finally brought one beef burger, and we had to wait a few more minutes for the other one. No apology, no explanation of what had happened, and when the bill arrived they'd already added a 12.5% service charge. Safe to say we won't be trying The Squirrel again any time soon.

Currently staying here whilst visit family nearby over Christmas. The room is nice and clean BUT TV doesn't work, no coat hangers, no tea bags only peppermint and also nowhere to hang the bathroom towel. I spoke to someone about the TV and coathangers but nothing done, also spoke to someone else about the tea bags, again nothing done and obviously no one had been in my room to replenish supplies. Nice room but poor on the day to day things. These are all part of what is paid for so should be available. It wouldn't prevent me staying again but I would check everything first. Also no WiFi details in the room so couldn't use my tablet to watch TV.

Disappointing, I had the Sunday roast with steak and was expecting a nice sirloin steak as stated on the menu. I was asked how I wanted it and I said medium rare got two small strips of dried out meat. My wife ordered the calf liver and was reasonably better. Don't get the steak option as it's not steak as advertised, it's a couple of measly strips of roast beef. Service was friendly and fine, food subpar.

Ate there last night with my wife using a GroupOn voucher against their set menu. It was quiet as early, around 5:30pm. Waiting staff were great and attentive and the food was really good, nothing was left and it was delivered promptly and hot. I had squid and chilli sauce, which was very punchy followed by the chicken schnitzel and Treacle pudding. Couldn't fault any of it.

Nice Sunday lunch but a bit on the small side, our side orders arrived after we had finished our roast which was a bit disappointing. Food overall was good, service was good and atmosphere good. Not 5 stars because of repeated wrong food delivered to our table, late delivery of side orders for main meal and all the dogs in the pub. We will go back though, before today we’ve had better experiences there.

My favourite at Kokoro is Salmon Teriyaki with plain rice. Tried before with noodles rather than rice. But noodles is already sweet and Teriyaki sauce is sweet as well. Rice goes better with Salmon Teriyaki meal. Today I decided to try something new. I ordered a Sweet and Chilli chicken. I'll never have it again. Too dry and chewy.

Lovely sunday lunch at the Stag on the River. We had the vegan roast and also the pork roast which were both very nice, albeit a little overpriced for what you get. Parking is also limited so get there early or park round the corner over the Eashing bridge. The staff were friendly and helpful and we requested extra spuds and yorkies which we were provided complimentary with the meal. Would definitely come back for dinner another day. Thank you.
