Amazing new menu. Wonderful attentive staff. The lobster bisque was perfect. A lovely cosy pub for a meal out. Definitely going back.

Came nearby for a hike and was searching around for a local pub to find this gem. Food was incredible, ordered the pork belly and every aspect of the dish was cooked perfectly well. Really incredible flavours, this was done perfectly. Stayed for dessert and ordered sticky toffee pudding which also was done well. Highly recommended.

A spontaneous last minute visit saw us decide to call in without a booking. Whilst we had to wait at the door for a long time for a member of staff to come to greet us, we eventually were shown to a lovely looking table. We both opted for the Tikka Massala, without doubt one of the best I have ever eaten, so so so creamy and I kept wanting more. The Naan, bargees and poppadoms, EVERYTHING Tasted made to order, nothing felt bought in. Service was excellent and whilst it was a very expensive meal, for a special occasion we would return… 10/10.

My partner and I attended here for a midweek meal. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. Food was absolutely delicious, clearly home made from fresh ingredients and presented wonderfully. We had homemade breads with butter and oil/vinegar for nibbles - English onion soup with raclette crouton and scallops to start, followed by confit duck breast, and pork belly for main. We shared a crumble for dessert. Cost was reasonable considering the effort that had clearly gone into cooking. My partner is a coeliac - the staff were thorough in explaining which items on the menu could be made GF. Many establishments don't put this level of effort in - also the taste of the food is usually different. We could see no discernible difference between Non-GF and GF food, a true sign to quality cooking! The drinks choice was good and it had a traditional pub atmosphere (think wonky beams, low ceilings, roaring fire). I would highly recommend this pub for a meal or drinks. Not to discredit the establishment in anyway, but be aware of the steep carpark and steep rutted road approaching - it takes some navigating!!

Attended an evening function, plenty of Guinness Zero behind the bar for those driving. The dining ! What can I say, outstanding ! Compliments to the kitchen team. Roast beef with all the trimmings carved in front of you and the dessert, lemon cheesecake with sweet braised rhubarb- simply the best dessert I have ever had. Plenty of parking, light and spacious building. Perfect !

If I could give 0 stars I would. Attempted to visit this pub for food after seeing the menu online and a food hygiene review in the window. Greeted by a bunch of farmers inside asking what we want, we said we were just waiting to see if food was being served. He said ‘nah no food at all here’ and the bar maid said ‘nope just crisps and nuts’ with an attitude, the other customers laughed us out the door. Very unfriendly, unprofessional and quite frankly rude behaviour from both staff and customers. Do not recommend at all.

Another great meal at Halfway Bridge! All the meals we’ve had have been fabulous - last weekend we hit the jackpot with fish pie as a special - beyond delicious with a perfect balance between creamy mash (with Parmesan, which was great!) and fresh fish mix. Great wine, great drinks, lovely atmosphere, friendly service and local pub vibes. Strongly recommended.
