Three Horseshoes in Chichester

Came nearby for a hike and was searching around for a local pub to find this gem. Food was incredible, ordered the pork belly and every aspect of the dish was cooked perfectly well. Really incredible flavours, this was done perfectly. Stayed for dessert and ordered sticky toffee pudding which also was done well. Highly recommended.

Stopped by after a lovely local walk on Saturday afternoon. Pub was pretty quiet but received a very warm welcome, and excellent Guinness and a lovely coffee. They have a secluded garden to the rear which is really nice. The pub is set out for eating mainly but has stools and tables in the bar area and it's really cosy. The staff were very attentive and would happily go back if in the area.

Had the most lovely Sunday lunch. Service and the food was amazing. So pleased we have made it back after not coming for a while.

So delighted this pub is back to the high quality we remember. Really good menu with plenty of choice fish, meat, gf etc Interesting starters and sharing platters. Good wine choice and very friendly pleasant service. We will be back.

Lovely people, great atmosphere and gorgeous food

We moved locally 18 months ago and have been wanting an opportunity yp visit this pub. Well, the wait was worth it. A lovely pub with a great vibe and gardens. The food was lovely. I had the Monkfish curry which is so out of my comfort zone but I'm so glad I tried it as it was so good! My partner had the burger which was tasty to. The staff are lovely and attentive. We are looking forward to taking our kids there to show them around.

Service was friendly. Nice garden area. Indoors is cosy.

Wow! The Food and the Team are amazing! We will be visiting now ever time we come to Goodwood Festival of Speed. Only because we live 5 hours away! Or I would be here every week!

Probably one of the best meals I've ever had! The meat in the burger was beautifully fresh, everything was cooked to perfection! Great staff service (even on a busy day) and a lovely wood fire burning just adds to the atmosphere!

Lovely roast beef but risotto lacked flavour. Didn't get the salt and pepper we asked for but otherwise service was good

Used to be first class. Change of ownership have taken it a bit down market. Not as good but prices reflect that. Not expensive for what we had and still a nice place to be Went again. Much improved and lovely staff. Especially Emma

Lovely pub with great food and the servers are always lovely. Desserts are always absolutely fab despite usually being pretty full from the mains!

A firm favourite and a regular spot for us! A cosy and welcoming country pub with beautiful food, great selection of drinks and fab staff. Will probably head over again this afternoon to sit in the sunshine on their lovely terrace and relax in great company, snacking our way through the menu.

Lovely pub, open fires, v friendly staff and superb food

We’ve been here a few times, it’s a really great place to visit with a proper old English pub hug and atmosphere. Things continue to improve all the time. An extremely attentive management who actually listen and interact with the clientele desires - well worth our 45 minute drive from Woking ! The food and friendliness are fantastic - a gem of a place where the embrace allows a calming, peaceful and refreshing experience. To top it off, an escentual at this time of year - it has 2 proper inglenook fireplaces !

Fantastic food and service and an amazing location. Staff were incredibly attentive and the kitchen completely unfazed by a food allergy for one of our party. In fact rather than just exclude food that was an issue they provided alternatives. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you to all the staff that made it a very special Sunday lunch.

We booked a table online in the main downstairs dining area and received confirmation that we would be sat there. On arrival however we were told they hadn't actually reserved our space and needed to go eat in the empty floor upstairs (literally just me and my partner in a large empty room). Two tables were free downstairs but apparently these had managed to have been reserved. No further help was given and we were promptly ignored. Disappointing.

Food was good and the only positive. Service appalling with non-interested and unmotivated staff. The table location was poor as it was next to an entrance for customers and staff to enter the lower restaurant area. Requested to move tables (tables available for the whole time we were there) or to our requested area which was just ignored and someone sent to move the table 3 feet. The atmosphere started well enough and then the big table arrived and ruined the experience for others around them with no regard to anyone around them. In the end, I couldn't get out quick enough! There are much better options within a 10 - 15 minute drive, depending on how far you are prepared to go.

Ate very well. Friendly staff. The fireplace was soothing and cozy in the rainy weather.

Just went in for a drink and the work they’ve done to the place is amazing. Beautiful bar, lots of inside and outside seating. Great all around pub, need to go back to try the food.

Easy parking, easy booking, good staff friendly. The atmosphere inside and out draws you back along with a good menu our meals were very well cooked and good range of beer, cider, wines.

Lovely lunch. Good quality and varied menu. Starter of scallops with black pudding and cauliflower purée was very good, followed by excellent steak and ale pie with rich gravy - with the pie made on the premises. I’ve been visiting this pub for many years, through its many incarnations, and am happy to see it back and under local ownership. I will be returning….

Pie of the day was delishhhhhh! Should have photographed it with the gravy. Could have eaten it twice over. We were a huge party and were sat in the outdoor area.

Quick stop off to see if it was still a good food pub... it is! Wouldn't hesitate to come again and recommend it.

We had a fantastic roast here and a pudding. The food was so lovely. The staff were friendly and as a bonus they had a fantastic saxophone player playing songs which added to the atmosphere.

Great pub, lovely setting and delicious food. Really enjoyed the saxophonist playing live music in the garden which was a lovely addition to our Sunday afternoon lunch today. We'll be back!

Nice garden, but menu felt overpriced for what was basic chain pub grub and general ambiance and service aligned with that ...not the "hidden gem" reputation that at times is associated with it.

We have just spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon with friends at your Lovely dog friendly Pub, The food was delicious we had the roast beef and the Pies, good local beers, your young staff were very professional and friendly and when you think things could not get any better you had a brilliant Saxophonist playing in the garden. A truly memorable afternoon, well worth the trip over from Eastbourne, we will be back.

Absolutely beautiful hidden gem. Some of the best pub food I’ve had. Service was top tier and would highly recommend to anyone. Lloyd was so polite and helpful, don’t have a bad word to say about this place!

Excellent pub dining. Beautiful Sunday roast and service was top class. We had a little mishap with the burger on delivery. The stack fell over but our waitress quickly handled it very professionally and without fuss. Having been closed for a while, these guys are doing an excellent job at delivering a great pub and it seems to have good local support. Well done guys.

Rather disappointing, expensive for what it is, ended up eating alone as my steak came cooked through having ordered medium rare so I sent it back. £32.75 for a thin, badly cooked steak is not good enough. Daughters mash not nice, and generally slow service. Not worth a re visit for us I’m afraid.

I am happy to wait 45 minutes for lunch but it would be polite to be Informed of this prior to taking out order food was good but if you want your local customers to return then encourage them with the food you provide should be above par and sadly today the whole experience was not ! Would we return ? Possible not

Excellent food and drink. Not your provincial little pub at all but a vibrant and modern restaurant, providing high quality food. Well worth a detour to visit and located in truly beautiful countryside.

We arrived in the evening after booking a table online in the downstairs seating area. We were unapologetically told the area we had booked was full, and told we could sit upstairs which was completely empty. The waiter then walked off with no further help given. Rather than eating an expensive meal in an empty room, we decided to leave. Poor customer service, and a disappointing experience.

I took my daughter and her boyfriend for dinner last night and it was outstanding. I had the best steak I have ever had

Staff were amazing so friendly! Great cosy pub. Really lovely atmosphere. Food was lovely. Only thing I would say was the venison was slightly on the dry side. Apart from that is was brilliant and we will be back.

Our first visit to The Three Horseshoes and a really wonderful all-round dining experience. The pub is beautiful inside with 2 roaring fires going - perfect for a drab November day. The food was of a really high quality and the service was spot on. Not once did we feel like we were being hurried or left waiting too long. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. A wonderful place to which we will definitely return soon.

Well done to the new owners..we love this place and so happy to see this amazing building up and running again...a real pub indeed

We went for a drink and some bar snacks on Sunday and it was everything we had hoped for when we had heard the pub was reopening. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the rugby was playing on the screen near the bar and there was a roaring fire, which all created a lovely ambience! I can't wait to return soon and try out the menu.

The lightest of chicken parfaits, so tasty served with chutney and brioche. Friendly staff that could answer all the questions asked about the menu. A good NZ Sauv and will most certainly return.

Had hugely high hopes but not only was the food severely disappointing I ended up with awful food poisoning from the seafood bouillabaisse, was given no refund or good will gesture, no returned call from the manager, handled dreadfully and over £200 spent. Will never return.

The Lickfold pub itself is very pretty, and the staff friendly and knowledgeable of their menu. It used to have an expansive menu inclusive to all dietary requirements, especially popular with vegan diners. However, this is no longer the case as new management has given rise to a new menu, so vegan diners should give this a miss. The vegan scallops were rubbery and the Bouillabaisse's flavour was far too subtle. I'm sure that other items on the menu would have been lovely, but on this occasion we were left disappointed.

Disappointing, not disappointed. Booked well over a month before booking for Boxing day and was informed the Christmas menu would still be on. Unfortunately I did not take the name of the person who told me this. Guess what, arrived on boxing day only to be met with a different menu for that day, and being informed the Christmas menu wasn't. Fortunately, our initial disappointment melted away as the food chosen, was absolutely superb and I complimented both the server and one of the bar staff to ensure the chef got my comments. I would highly recommend the food.

No airs or graces just great food Visited on our weekend away. The staff were very helpful and engaged. Amuse bouche was a surprise but very tasty. My partner loved her steak and my bouillabaisse was quite superb. Massive kudos on providing a necessary finger bowl! Partner was too full for a dessert but I managed a delicious fondant. Be aware this is an historic building so there are unavoidable droughts, we went the windiest night of the year but were prepared! Really lovely food and environment Great experience!

Remote place to go to, Easy parking, cosy English pub restaurant, big fire place. Husband n our guests had steak and I had hake and they were good. Except they had to check on their Americano coffee quality and stock up on more interesting non alcoholic drinks ie Seedlip for the designated driver of the night.

Friendly staff. Reasonable beers. The pizza was an atrocity: the base was made from scratch, but I only know this because the part that was slathered in sauce was raw. Calling it a sauce is a stretch as it didn't seem to be more than some bland passata. The cheese managed to be both bland and burnt. Will not be returning for more.

This is a wonderful place to have lunch at on the weekend. The drive to get there is beautiful. The restaurant is in a very old refurbished in. There was a big selection of food, and a lot of plant based options.

Had a great meal here on a Friday evening. Staff were very professional, friendly and unobtrusive. Good pace of serving and food arriving, not rushed but no wondering where you’re meal had got to! Food itself was very good - we had garlic prawns & squid to start and the pie of the day & chicken burger for mains, no room for dessert! All the food was really tasty, hot (hate a lukewarm meal!), well seasoned & nice presented - definitely a “gastro” take on good pub grub!

Absolutely beautiful setting - beautiful restored old pub with lovely garden in a super quiet area. The menu is extensive and covers a lot of different types of food (which I often find to be bad sign), but everything we had was lovely. The staff were also friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Nice location, shaky service and missing a meal when the mains arrived. The food didn't live up to the expectations from the pictures and other reviews. Friendly staff but will probably give it a miss in the future and stick to the Noahs Ark Inn round the corner!

Not clear on website that we would be in a tent in the garden. Was at least warm and a good setup for covid, but we were a bit disappointed not to be in the restaurant. Unfortunately the food did not make up for it. Whilst the starters were good and the desserts were fine the mains consisted of rubbery tough pork belly, dried up lentil meatballs and dried up sauce on BBQ ribs. Altogether poor food with a premium price. Absolutely does not match sophistication indicated by the website and the Michelin info. Menu was stacked full of bog standard pub food at smart restaurant prices. Also, a bit frustrating that for every course we had our food delivered when the staff realised that they had not given us cutlery. They then had to go back in the pub to get some for us, leaving the food on the table getting cold (3 times this happened!). Also didn't get sauces for mains until I had eaten half the food. Didn't complain on the night, as it was a birthday celebration and we did not want to embarrass the teen-agers. Just won't go again.

I took my husband there for a lovely birthday lunch. We were welcomed in with plenty of social distancing into a lovely gastro pub with a lovely fire alight. The food was excellent beautifully cooked and lovely and hot and the service was very friendly and professional. We were even given a Christmas discount which we didn’t expect especially as the pricing was very good to begin with. Definitely a lovely pub to go to on a miserable day.
