We went for new year's eve and it was great. You could not fault it in any way. I am gluten free and they accommodated for me even though the restaurant was full. It was a throughly enjoyable night with entertainmentas well. Well done to the owners and staff.

This is a lovely little hotel with a smashing owner, Seonaid, and a fantastic chef. We stayed last night after a Chapel Down vineyard tour (also highly recommended- the hotel does a great package deal!). We had a delicious dinner at the hotel after drinks in the charming salon with log burner. Lovely husband had the soup followed by excellent meatballs and I had the duck pate followed by a very tasty fish pie. We both had the sticky toffee pud - wicked and moreish. The wine list is very good and of course they sell the splendid Chapel Down fizz! The continental breakfast was also very good indeed. The bed was comfy, the room was cosy and the decor throughout is welcoming and just a bit quirky, which we loved. It is in the perfect location for vineyard tours, National Trust houses, gardens and castles and beautiful Rye and the seaside are within easy reach. We highly recommend this gem with its friendly team and welcoming ambiance.

A great place to drop into for a drink and/or a snack. Friendly staff served us. There's seating outside (when the weather's good) but the seating inside is more homely. The aroma from the deli is delicious. Oh, before I forget, the freshly-made coffee and green tea were very good.

Placed in the heart of Tenterden what helps when You out and about. Went there for pizza and some kebabs with friends, didn't have to wait long for food to be ready. Food was fresh, tasty and not overpriced. I ordered a pizza and must say was one of the best pizzas i haf for a long time. Very friendly and polite staff. Would definitely recommend

The best pastries I've ever had. Loads of variety. Amazing texture and taste. Had a really nice baguette also. Lovely shop.

We got the Latte Lounge to do the catering for my Nans funeral. We chose the "End of life" cold buffet. It was absolutely spot on, delicious sandwiches, gorgeous savoury pastries, scotch eggs and more.... All freshly homemade. There was plenty to feed everyone! The amount of people that commented on how fabulous the food tasted (which was many) was the result of the professionalism of Sharen and her team. Thank you for taking care of us xx

I have always enjoyed eating at The Lemon Tree, as the food is consistently pleasant. However, my most recent experience was deeply disappointing and has left me reconsidering my visits in the future. Today, my 92-year-old mother and I faced an unacceptable level of rudeness from the staff. As we were settling our bill, my grandson, who happened to be in the area with his friends, came in to say hello. Immediately, we were met with an aggressive approach from the male staff member, informing us that our table was needed immediately. The manner in which we were spoken to was both abrupt and unwelcoming, which overshadowed the pleasant meal we had just shared. It is disheartening to be treated this way, especially when we were simply enjoying a quick moment as a family. Given this experience, I feel compelled to share my thoughts and will not be returning to The Lemon Tree. Customer service is just as important as the quality of food, and unfortunately, today’s visit did not reflect that.

We thought we would try Mr Bean in Sayers Lane on our visit today to Tenterden. A nice array of cakes and pastries. We bought our favourite, a toasted teacake which we usually have at another coffee shop. I found a table for us but it was dirty with crumbs and sugar and rather near to the air conditioner in the ceiling which was blowing out cold air, something you would need on a hot day, not on a cold, rainy March day, as well as the doors being wide open. I moved to another table but like the previous one, felt grimy and sticky, in need of a good scrub!! The teacakes arrived. Large, with very little fruit, more like a biscuit than a teacake. Certainly not enough butter to cover the unusually large surface area and rather dry. I went to use the ladies toilet, but only found a disabled toilet. Upon entering I found it to be very unsavoury, wet floor and generally unfit for use. As it is the only toilet and obviously used by male and female customers, this makes it essential to keep vigilant over its cleanliness. All in all, with the higher prices and the state of the establishment we will not be going back.

Looking for somewhere to grab a quick lunch before going into Waitrose in Tenterden, we settled on this without really knowing anything about what it might have to offer. As long as it was reasonably quick and served in a friendly way we would be happy. And goodness me, it was all that and so much more. My sandwich, nearly rare roast beef with a salad, horseradish and crisps, was probably the best I’ve ever eaten. Really packed well with fabulously lean beef, tangy horseradish and a simple side salad, it was just exactly what I needed. So good in fact my partner and I each had a slice of their scrumptious sponge cakes - soft and fresh and presented in generous portions. Yum.
