At first sight it does not appear as if the Savannah Coffee Shop is either pushchair or wheelchair friendly as the front entrance is down a flight of steps from street level. However, it is because, just round the corner, at street level, there is another entrance which can be used by both pushchair and wheelchair users. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We went for lunch with friends. There is a reasonable choice on the menu (I had the 'Plouhgmans', which I can certainly recommend), reasonably priced and ample-sized servings. My wife is Gluten Free but her diet did not cause any problems. An added bonus is that the establishment is dog friendly. An excellent cafe.

Fabulous food, large portions, reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and helpful. All day breakfast, baked potatoes, main meals, cream teas. Will definitely return!

Went for breakfast on a very cold wet morning. Very friendly welcome. They were happy to toast my gluten free bread, the coffee was very good, and hot. Popped back for a quick lunch.

Pleasant surroundings and reasonable coffee. Stay was short lived due to three inconsiderate locals who persisted in talking in raised voices across the width of the premises when other customers were engaging quiet conversation. We left before finishing our drinks when the local 'lad' was quite pleased with telling his friend that he wasn't at work because he'd caught something and was feeling sh*t. Certainly no respect for other people or consideration for their welfare, and quite happy to spread his germs around. Will not use places such as this that tolerate bad manners and such selfish behaviour

Very friendly and welcoming cafe. Great choice of food. Clean toilets. We have tried most cafes in Tenterden and this is definitely the best. Tea cakes with jam are our choice.

First time we have visited this cafe, first impressions were friendly and clean. However, on trying the food, mid day brunch …sadly the food quality was dreadful. Eggs were poorest of quality and completely anemic and tasteless..as was the tomato. Such a shame but the price doesn’t reflect the food…

Savannah is my go to place to have food or a coffee and cake. My girls love going there too specially for their ice cream, staff are always so friendly, my youngest daughter can be abit full on sometimes but Allison is always brilliant with her. Thankyou.

We came here after booking for a group of 8. It took 25 minutes to get some pretty poor quality coffees and another hour for our food to arrive. It wasn’t particularly busy and the staff forgot to bring out milk for teas too. The portions were quite small for the price and the food wasn’t particularly good to justify the price tag. Wouldn’t recommend.

On a work break, fancied something hot. Costa, nero's available but always overpriced. Spotted this place so gave it It a go, lady (didn't get name) served me very polite and friendly. Had Takeaway so came in a container. Most places skimp with panini filling but not here, thick slices of bree and bacon. Was happily surprised. It tasted amazing. And will definitely be back for more 👍

Since lockdown means we can no longer visit our favourite cafe, we took advantage of the takeaway service and ordered 6 cream teas for distribution to friends and elderly relations who are isolating, and us. Home made scones, jam and sponge cake, with proper clotted cream, very nicely presented and wrapped for freshness and the journey. Thanks Alison- you made a lot of people very happy today.

We Visit this cafe regularly and very pleased to see previous long-standing member of staff has re-opened it. Always excellent service and lovely meals. Hopefully she can make this little gem of a cafe continue to thrive in these difficult times.

Nice service. Nice food. Only complaint was noise of milkshake/smoothie machine. Literally had to stop talking while it was on. Sounds petty but it was ridiculously loud

Terrible coffee, tasted & looked like recycled grinds, wraps were cold and hard(straight from packet) fillings almost non-existent & grose.

Whilst visiting the Tenderden area , we came across this lovely cafe in the high st. Covid safe, very clean and good choice of menu. The owner Alison was so welcoming and friendly. We received a very friendly greeting when we dropped in for afternoon tea and cake. Actually i had coffee and it was excellent. The coffee and walnut cake was top-notch. A great local business.

Hunted out after returning early from France. Lovely service and great food - especially as my children decided to create their own breakfast (not on the menu) - which was obliged with a smile!

Having a few hours to kill in the afternoon (and having had a nice early lunch out) I popped in here for an afternoon snack and drink. Very pleased with the prices and quality and plenty of place to sit inside and out.

We've been here a few times, normally after taking our grandchild to the leisure centre. Menu is fine and food cooked to a good standard for a reasonable price. The grandchild loves the choc chip ice cream, which, I have to say, is excellent. Our only gripe is with the coffee which is served soooo hot that its barely drinkable for quite a while after serving, and, in my view,the overheating of the coffee contributes to its bland flavour.If you're unfortunate enough to spill some, beware as it might cause some damage where you would least want it!!

Always warm, comfortable cafe/ restaurant with plenty of choice and good sized portions for main meals. Friendly co-operative service. Do not recommend soup which twice was very watery. However, cottage pie and fish pie was excellent.

We walked past here on a gloomy and wet Sunday afternoon, and thought looked like a nice place for lunch. And we were right! We both had a ham, cheese & chutney baguette which came with coleslaw and salad. It was very yummy!Service was good too! Waitress who served us was nice.Would recommend

Thought it would be good to support a local enterprise and had seen some good reviews on-line. What a disappointment! Our three coffees and one mocha tasted of absolutely nothing and none of us finished more than half of our drinks. The place was all hard surfaces and anything but cosy, AND it smelt of frying. Not my idea of a good coffee shop.

Dropped in for a coffee whilst out shopping. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The surroundings were very pleasant indeed. The coffee was very good. Did not try any food but, from what I saw of people who were eating, the food looked very good. There's plenty of choice on the menu and a "specials" board as well. And, an added bonus, there's one room in which dogs are welcome.

Stopped with the family yesterday again. Breakfast fabulous, jacket potato scrummy and so accommodating to grandchildren’s requests. Always go here when in the are.

The coffee cake was delicious the staff efficient and friendly . There is a washroom though it is up some steps and it was clean.

Convenient for cyclists on a nice day because there are tables outside so you can sit with your valuable bike next to you and it opens early (8am) whereas most palces are 10am on a Sunday. Waitress was friendly and came to take our order - I was prepared to go inside to place it leaving hubby guarding the bikes.Food was delicious (cooked breakfast/scrambled eggs) as was the coffee.Toilet was clean!The ice cream looked tasty, I might have to go back another day for that.I can't find a fault. Says it all that we hope to stop there again next Sunday for a repeat performance.

Savannah is bistro meets builders’ cafe with a great menu of local and homemade produce. The food is heaving on the full English breakfast plat with the exceptional Korkers sausages. They have a takeaway menu too. The staff are so friendly and helpful.Have been every morning of our three day stay.

Good value, tasty, traditional food. Friendly staff. Dogs welcome, which is a bonus in Tenterden; main alternative in the town being to sit outside with the traffic. Only disappointment was the ice cream which didn’t live up to expectation.

We first came across the Savannah coffee shop about 4 yrs ago. The food and the service then was first class. We come back to Tenterden on a regular basis. And our first port of call is the Savannah. And we are pleased to say the service and food is still excellent.

Serving a great choice of food or a lovely cream tea this little place has quaint charm and great service. Makes for a nice alternative to the coffee shops in this town.

We use this lovely little cafe on a regular basis. The food is always freshly cooked to order. The staff are so friendly and the coffee is some of the best I’ve ever had. The pies and quiches are delicious, both are home made . We highly recommend this terrific little cafe !

This is quite a basic cafe but nothing wrong with the food, just nothing exciting. My mozzarella in the panini wasn’t fully melted so could have been better. However, the lady and young girl serving were lovely, smiley and pleasant.

Very disappointed we have been here in the past and had a delicious fish pie.

Popped in today for a quick lunch just before closing time, the staff were friendly and welcoming. I had spaghetti bolognese which was the day's special, it was a lovely big portion, the tomato sauce was rich with plenty of mince, it also came with a large portion of grated cheese on the side. My other half had lasagne which is one of his fave meals, he said it was delicious and he's a big man so it's hard as sometimes portion sizes are an issue, that was not the case today, the lasagne was large enough to satisfy his appetite. We had cheesy garlic bread too which was lovely and topped with a nice amount of cheese. Savannahs is lovely for the reason the supports local businesses, we both enjoyed drinks from the local vineyard with our meals today, so much so we stopped off at it on the way home. I would recommend Savannah's if you want a nice homecooked meal in a lovely little setting.

Came in for breakfast with my boyfriend and our friend and his son, we all had a full English breakfast which was yummy. Good service, friendly staff and clean shop. I also had a huge hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream which was so delicious.

Met here for a coffee, had a cappuccino which was as good as any of the major named coffee houses. Served at the table which was nice and the service was excellent, won't hesitate to go back next time I'm in Tenterden.

We love the coffee, breakfasts, lunches and pastries at Savannah. We are always welcomed warmly and nothing seems to be a problem. The staff can offer advice/alternatives about allergens.

Stopped here on a blisteringly hot day and for once in my life decided to have a salad. I chose the prawn salad and it was lovely. A nice big portion of prawns, a similarly hefty pile of coleslaw, and a big pile of mixed salad leaves with a delicious dressing. There was also a pot of chutney - not sure why exactly in a prawn salad, but I ate it anyway because it too was really tasty. Followed up with a waffle, vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce. Gorgeous, and a generous helping! Very friendly service rounded off a really pleasant meal. Can't comment on busy periods as this was 10am on a Friday and the place was not packed.

We were just stopping for a light snack/drink, on our way through Tenterden, on a beautiful day. We found all the cafes were heaving and "no room at the inn". Then we saw Savannah and there were only a few people in there (this should have started some alarm bells ringing...). The girl serving us was friendly enough, but, although only a few other people in the café, it took about 20 minutes for our pot of tea to arrive (I had even gone to look around the shop next door for 15 mins and was surprised to find the tea hadn't arrived by the time I returned) and another 5 or 10 mins before we got an under-toasted teacake and a rather dry bacon and egg bap. Very disappointing.

Popped in for a late breakfast this morning. Extremely fast service from a friendly waitress who took our drinks order.Breakfasts arrived after about ten minutes, were delicious and used high quality ingredients. The light breakfast for £7 is superb value.Will definitely be returning!

A most enjoyable coffee shop. Very friendly and helpful team. With very pleasant weather was able to enjoy the sunshine whilst watching the world go by. Main area of the coffee shop is down a flight of steps whilst service for both order and food and drinks were served at the table. So nice that the lady came and made a check for satisfaction with a very good conversation. Bacon and banana toasted sandwich was a new one for me and worked very well and most enjoyable.Well worth while a visit in a town of a number of coffee and tea shops.

Stopped here for brunch. Dog friendly inside and out. Friendly staff and quick service. I had the delicious cream tea , hubby had light breakfast. Both excellent. Good varied menu.

We really enjoyed our lunch today as the food was really good and served by very pleasant ladies.I loved the little jug of gravy added to my meal as I could add as much, or as little, as I liked. I would recommend this café to anyone. Really good service and scrummy food. Well done ladies

Popped in here as it was quite late on a Sunday and a few places were closing up. A nice welcome and quick service - I had the Chicken Liver Pate and toast, whilst my husband had the tuna salad. Both meals were very tasty and filling, with 3 drinks and all just under £19 to so good value too. We're moving quite near here in the Summer so will certainly visit again.

Took my son along for breakfast on a Saturday morning and we were absolutely amazed by the entire experience. The full English is sublime, great quality local ingredients that are cooked to perfection. The service from the lady behind the toll was efficient, friendly and attentive.This really is a diamond in the lovely town of Tenterden and should not be missed!!

Visited for the first time today and loved it. It was welcoming when we entered, lady greeted us and was friendly throughout. The food tasted very fresh and clean (my husband had a cooked breakfast and I had the cheese ploughmans). I thought both dishes were very reasonably priced and we both left very happy. Will definitely return and would recommend to others.

Had lunch here as is was very convenient for us, after our walk around the town. They have free wifi. The sponsor and show local artist artwork on a screen. They sell their own salad dressings and jams. The food in general was ok, the salad came dressed with their reciepe they sold there. Quite a cosy setup for a cafe, couldn't hear the tv (didn't ask to be turned up) music plying on the background. The prawn jacket potato was well presented, flavour was ok too.

For a lite bite, this cafe has quite a wide range of food, from sandwiches, salads, and some vegetarian items.I had vegetarian sausages and mash. I asked what was in the sausages, told they did not know, but supplied by the local butcher (I smiled at that !)They were some of the best veggie sausages I have eaten, seemed to have dried peas, lentils and herbs. Definitely better than the usual Quorn served elsewhere.

We stopped off here as part of the steam train experience. 2 Adults 3 Children. All i can say is why overprice your food...its basic and bland. Won't be returning here and recommend people to find alternative places.

Visited with a couple of friends last week and had a really delicious lunch. We found a table outside in the shade and after much deliberation ordered a chicken, bacon and cheese baguette, quiche, broccoli and stilton soups and duluxe hot chocolates. The food was very generous and tasty and the service was brilliant, with helpful, friendly staff. Best of all were the hot chocolates. They were enormous, each with an additional flake and caramel biscuit, as well as ramakins containing marshmallows, hot chocolate powder and a variety of chocolate buttons. I have recommended these to half a dozen people in the last couple of days and will certainly be making a return trip myself soon!

A lovely town in the South East of England. What a shame we stopped in this place for coffee. It's was up there with the worst coffee I ever tasted. The service wasn't much better. A complete disappointment and waste of time and money.

Set just below the High Street, it is an excellent location to people watch. We had a cream tea, with an extra cup, as what is on offer is enough for two and at a very good price. Two scones, two butters, two jams, clotted cream and fresh strawberries to boot!Do not have another cream tea until you have visited here.

After our excellent tour at The Old Dairy Brewery we topped off our visit to Tenterden with a delicious lunch at the Savannah Coffee Shop.Coffee Shop in the name doesn't do it justice. We had a delicious lunch. The three of us had quite different lunches. I had an excellent fish pie. My husband had a homemade pork and bramley apple pie and our friend had a toasted sandwich. We then finished off with homemade cinnamon waffles with ice cream and toffee!The staff were friendly and helpful. If you are in Tenterden or driving through I would recommend you have your lunch here.

Open for excellent breakfasts, coffee, lunch and substantial teas. Friendly staff, great pies and cakes. Indoors when it's wet, outside when fine and comortble seating.

A lovely quaint establishment, lovely coffee and environment. Prices are about right for area but not the cheapest. Somewhere nice on a cold day to take the edge off that shopping trip :) will go back here.

We've changed our usual procedure and have been trying breakfast instead of lunch on our weekly visits to Tenterden. This was our second try out and we gave it top marks. Very clean and comfortable place to visit with a very friendly greeting from staff as soon as we walked in. We all went for the cooked breakfast with extra hash browns. It was cooked to order for us and looked wonderful when it arrived ! We had bacon, sausage, fried eggs ( one of the group had scrambled eggs ) fried tomatoes, mushrooms and really nice toast. It tasted as good as it looked, eggs perfectly done which is always a good test for me. There is a very nice atmosphere there and staff are friendly and attentive. It was a good start to the day and we will certainly return.

Love this coffee shops with inside and outside tables in good weather. They serve delicious homemade cakes and food.

Stopped for lunch here and had some lovely home maDe food. Pleasant surroundings withe friendly ladies. My husband had a very generous individual Shepherds Pie with mash, green beans and broccoli, I had one of their homemade chicken pies with a side salad and coleslaw. The portions were very generous and at just under £8 each, good value for money.

In the high street of Tenterden, this is one of the fairly good cafes around the town.I give it a "very good" rating because there is no "good" on Trip Advisor. It is better than average.It is good for morning coffee or breakfast.You can sit outside on a fine day and orders are taken at the table. Generally the service is efficient and friendly despite the rather disjointed layout.We have always found what we ordered to be fine.

While visiting Tenterton, decided to get a quick cuppa, and saw Savannah's and decided to pop in. It was fairly busy, but found a table. Nice lady took our order for cup of earl grey, an americano coffee, and cheese and ham sandwich. Drinks swiftly arrived, followed by nice sandwich with coleslaw and small salad. Tea and Coffee hot, Sandwich delicious. Menu was varied, with full english, lunch etc. Staff lovely and helpful, will go there on next visit.

Had full English, which was lovely. Cafe is clean and tidy with a nice atmosphere. Nice to be able to sit outside too. Will come back.

Tried here for breakfast this morning. Wonderful! Good food and plenty of it. Staff really helpful and it is a quirky place, set below street level but with tendrils going out to the front, side and rear of the building. You know you are on to something when you follow a couple of builders into the venue. They know what a good breakfast is. We will return.

Stopped here for a light lunch with my husband today. First time, was impressed with menu, we both had a sandwich. Lovely bread and baguette, I had coronation chicken homemade, delicious, husband had chicken, bacon and mayonnaise baguette also delicious. Both had coffee. Will certainly go there again when visiting Tenterden.

Me & Mrs KP Reviewer had breakfast in here and found both the quality and price to be excellent. The service was quick and polite and the food was well coocked and hot. Looking at prices, there is cheaper around but not for the quality. Will we eat here again? Yes I think we will.

Came for lunch, party of 10 people including 5 adults and 5 children. There wasn't enough room for us to sit inside but it was a nice day and we sat outside. Lovely waitress came and took our order and was patient with children. Very accommodating to my special request for lunch. Fish pie was excellent quality and good size portion. Jacket potatoes also a good size, could have been a bit more generous with the cheese though. Would visit again.

We are here on a Sunday afternoon we had ice creams, which are locally made, the ice cream was amazing and the one scoop was huge!!Really friendly and sweet young girl who served us.
