Dirty place..Totally neglected The coffee is terrible. Tastes so burnt... It has to be Bottega Do not serve lactose free milk. Milk substitutes are bad for you!

Not be put off by the appearance of the front . Looks run down.the staff are very friendly

Extremely filthy. Hair and dust and marks all over the seats, the tables were all sticky and worn, the floors looked like they had never been mopped. No toilet paper in the ladies bathrooms, the bins were overflowing. It’s very rare I write a review but this place was disgusting. I couldn’t even bring myself to at my food!

Excellent staff and coffee. Could do with a fresh coat of paint here and there.

One look at the canopy and the filthy outdoor front eith peeling paint would definitely make you turn around. I would suggest pulling the canopy in immediately as making it look even worse

Seriously in need of a do-over - tables are peeling, chairs are greasy, the floor is so dirty and the paint on the walls is flaky, with graffiti and finger marks. There are so many tea rooms and cafés in Tenterden that this one is definitely worth a miss.

Great tasting coffee, friendly, helpful staff and a good seating environment. A very good place to drop into for a drink and/or a snack.

Staff were really friendly. Lemon muffin was Devine however my latte tasted like warm milk and the table was super sticky.

Friendly service when we were eventually acknowledged, but there were 4 members of staff who were more engrossed in themselves and their conversation and banter than the fact that they had customers waiting to place an order and spend their money !!!

Girl behind desk loudly talking about they don’t know why we tried to order large instead of medium because they haven’t sold large for 5 years (my first time at costa so I don’t know!) talking to man behind the desk who was on his phone. handed me drink without putting the lid on propperly, so spilt all down my new white jumper. As I was cleaning myself up she asked what did I need, I said nothing thank you the lid wasn’t on propperly, and she turned her back to me and said the most sarcastic ‘sorry’ I’ve ever heard and nothing else. 0 customer service

Horrendous service today, had a visible hand injury and a broken hand no staff offered to carry my tray which I almost dropped everything I’d ordered. Rude staff and overpriced anyway…

I usually don't write reviews, but I feel like I should. Two Sundays ago, I went to this coffee shop and the staff were amazing! A girl and two boys, all teenagers, served me. One lad made me a delicious flat white. My wife spilled some milk, and a kind teenage girl with blonde hair came over and cleaned it up while chatting with us. I didn't catch her name. There was also a gentleman at the till who was always smiling and lovely. They were understaffed but still helpful and kind even though it was very busy. The coffee was delicious! The cafe is very out dated though. The staff definitely needs a pay rise!

Stopped for a coffee and toast. Lovely service and thoroughly enjoyable. Place clean and comfortable.

Always visit this coasta when passing or in the area. So much so that Sam in particular gives fantastic customer service and is a credit to the team. He always remembers me and my drink preferences and always greets me with a smile. The store environment is always pleasant and clean. My only negative is that the toilets could do with an upgrade. Looking quite tired. Thanks to all the team for their hard work. Very much appreciated.

Since when did Costa stop serving large Caramel Latte? Or is it that the staff do not know what drinks they serve only asking as when ordered my usual drink we was refused it and the guy serving just kept saying we don't do large Caramel Lattes and would not listen to us. Never been told this before so train your staff to know there drinks before letting them loose on serving your customers.

Always enjoy going in here. Coffee is always good and served quickly. Cakes, toasties etc are always tasty. Lots of space inside can always get a table. Staff friendly and work hard - it can get really busy in there sometimes! There is a ramp to get to the back seating area and a toilet on the ground floor so it has disabled/pushchair friendly loos. Toilets upstairs also.

Always friendly staff, plus they sell good coffee. More of a range of toasted sandwiches would be better.

Good coffee including Soya, although cakes too expensive and table clearing often slow (why not encourage clients to take provided trays & cups back on exit?).

Why do Costa serve such poor quality cakes?? They really need to improve in this offer. Deals only available on the app even though I have a loyalty card - drives me mad! Coffee good but now soooo expensive. Cafe seating closed off in parts and looked poor with not a great atmosphere / ambience. Overall - disappointing

Coffee as usual is good and at a reasonable price. The Gents loos need a good spruce. Chewing gum in the urinals and the state of the sink panels should be attended to; seems to have been in this state for quite a while. PLEASE TIDY UP. 3 stars given due to state of loos.

Expensive for what is cold coffee flavour milk but it was clean and relaxing.staff young but attentive and friendly.

I was at Tenterden Folk Festival a fortnight ago and several of our party said that Costa was v slow. I waited until 1130 and managed to get served fairly quickly - there were 3 servers. At 1315 I went in and there were 13 people in front of me and 2 servers; there were 2 tables with people sitting at them. There was another server cleaning a seating area,  despite there being several spare tables.  Several in the queue behind me were huffing and puffing.  One of the servers who was cooking sausages in buns kept on dropping the sausages on the counter, picking them up with her fingers and then licking them. After 20 minutes another of my party came in and I told him I'd get him a coffee if I could but that I'd been waiting a long time; after 30 minutes I gave up, still being 5 people away from being served.  Throughout this time the reserved area became extremely clean and yet still no one was sitting at any of the other empty tables. 1.  A delay of 30 minutes during a well-publicised event is ludicrous as it speaks of incompetent staff poorly managed. 2.  One server taking 30 minutes to sweep and clean an area consisting of three tables is ridiculous, particularly when there was other seating available. 3.  Servers not having the right tools to produce food and/or not knowing not to lick her fingers is a breach of I-can't-imagine-how-many food laws. I have a loyalty card and enjoy Costa coffee more than any of the other high street brands, however, I was in and out of next-door Nero in no time.  I think it's time that Costa management took a serious look at this shop.

Had to drink coffee from cardboard cup as staff said from 1400 dishwasher was down. Found this strange as they still served cake on china plates with proper forks.

Truly wonderful experience. The staff are beyond brilliant, the coffee sublime..............Never been in there Google decided I had !!.

This is a lovely costa to visit. I visit here around 4 to 5 times a week and every time I visit the staff are friendly and always helpful. The only downfall is the website says it opens at 8 and closes at 5 but this is wrong opens alot earlier and closes at 18.30 could you please update opening times and closing times many thanks from Lionel Fosher

Love Costa coffee always brilliant

I was once again in here today (tenterden, kent) my favourite branch, and once again the staff couldn't be more helpful, always pleased to be of assistance.

While waiting to be served the lady in front of me in the queue, was just stirring her coffee at the counter and asked the male server if she could put the used stirrer on the tray.She was told in a very rude manner'There are waste bins over there"unbelievable, she had just spent about £15 pound.My turn now, ordered 2 lattes and asked for one to be extra hot.I sat down and waited.When they were ready they were put on the counter, no your coffee is ready now, no please or thank you.When i asked which one was extra hot ,i was told feel them.Idont think so love which one is it then.The very rude male server then said"i done them both the same,no sorry or offer to replace.The most rudest people i have ever encountered in a service to the public industry And the latte seemed to be watered down, avoid like the plague

A decent coffee, open relatively late on a Sunday afternoon.

Great atmosphere. Takeaway only at the moment but looks lovely to dine in when possible. Lovely and spacious. I had the caramel oat latte - if you like sweet I highly recommend!

Still open for business and busy as ever. Covid rules in place and coffee as good as ever.

Plenty of space, reasonable value tea and coffee. The filter coffee is only a pound. Comfortable seating, A safe warm place to go with loos to hand and newspapers to read. Snacks are limited and mediocre but pastries good.

Shabby service, unclean, and over priced. There are at least 10 other Coffee shops, tea houses, and patisseries. This would be so far down the list I would chose any of them and water from the grocery store, before I returned to this Costa.

Only called in for a coffee. The service was quick, friendly and efficient. The coffee was freshly prepared and tasty. The establishment was clean and airy with plenty of seating.

Visited this Costa as part of a visit to the Christmas markets. While the food and beverages themselves were good and of normal costa standard, I was more disappointed by the service. A 2 year old child in our group was bought a baby hot chocolate and accidentally dropped this close to the till area. My partner asked for some tissue to clean this up and what I presume to be the manager rolled his eyes and stated it would take more than that to clean it up. There was some blue roll next to the till, so my partner said he would use that to clean up the spillage. There was NO effort from anyone to do this on my partner’s behalf and the presumed manager kept looking at us and rolling his eyes in between cleaning the ovens. No offer was made to help us, nor did they put down a wet floor sign so there is no regard for customer safety or service. Probably the most disappointing costa I have visited. The only reason it’s 2 stars is because the drinks and food were good as expected.

Friendly, cosy atmosphere with plenty of seating. Always a good cup of coffee and plenty of choice of food.

3 hours in this coffee shop waiting for RAC breakdown found the hot sausage rolls and breakfast wraps very tasty 😋and reasonably priced , coffee was good and staff quick- ish... Never thought I would say this but I would recommend. This was of some help please tick.

Went when it was new,had a hot chocolate and there was a long hair in the cream on top. Yes I complained, not impressed,havnt been back.

No high end retail outlets.A growing number of empty units seems to indicate a Mall in decline.

Realy nice staff and a good place to have a coffee and watch the world go bye.

We ordered two drinks one of which was an iced mango drink. Which came with a straw. The service and the drinks were fine. But the straw was useless. It leaked and basically fell apart about half way through the drink. This is not a criticism to Costa. But the main reason for reviewing is to comment on all aspects of our visit so others can make their own choice of where to visit. Also if the management read these reviews. They can act upon any negative issues raised. I advise a different type of straw be sourced as the ones provided aren’t capable of doing the job. And when they leak and drip down the customers front. It’s not amusing.

Standard Costa, only mark it down because the chain is just quite expensive but other than that great place.

Really don't like chain cafes. No atmosphere. Mediocre food. Overpriced beverages. Nothing to recommend it!

Coffee was good here (not always so at Costa). Service was a bit haphazard but friendly. Toilets not spotless, but I wasn't mortified either. Parking outside is one hour only so be quick

Fine but the staff should not shut the toilets early so everyone uses the disabled toilet. Also staff should not clean the toilets in their aprons and come back in the food area wearing it.

Bad customer service very unhygienic

Mid morning on Monday no queue. Not sure what that says, but it meant quick service. Good cappuccino, not bitter like some. Ridiculously pricey sweets and snacks.
