Moretto's Cafe in Ashford

Looking for somewhere to grab a quick lunch before going into Waitrose in Tenterden, we settled on this without really knowing anything about what it might have to offer. As long as it was reasonably quick and served in a friendly way we would be happy. And goodness me, it was all that and so much more. My sandwich, nearly rare roast beef with a salad, horseradish and crisps, was probably the best I’ve ever eaten. Really packed well with fabulously lean beef, tangy horseradish and a simple side salad, it was just exactly what I needed. So good in fact my partner and I each had a slice of their scrumptious sponge cakes - soft and fresh and presented in generous portions. Yum.

Gerry and his team including Josephine, Alison and the two girls really make Moretto’s the best in its league in Tenterden. Top quality food and presentation, immaculately clean restaurant in Sayers Lane opposite Waitrose. Friendly staff and atmosphere, So much nicer than nearby potential competition and not bombarded by starchy high maintenance local people. Morettos is the jewel in the crown for its breakfasts, sandwiches and light bites including salads, sandwiches etc. A real pleasure to go to see Jerry and his girls. The customer service at this cafe is excellent, the salt beef sandwich is off the charts, so good!, the smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich is lovely too, great atmosphere, I would thoroughly recommend this cafe 👍

1 Coffee 1 tea and 2 slices of cake ( small portions ) came to £15.80 ! No menu or any indication of cake slice prices before we paid - Will not be revisiting.

Good coffee with friendly staff and dogs welcome. The atmosphere is cozy. The downside is that there is no customer lavatory despite the number of covers

I traveled all over the world but this is one of the best cafes i have ever been to. Absolutely amazing food and lovely people working there. I had a sandwich with Beef which i really reccomend. Will be back again soon.

Visited with family and as we had our dog we sat round the side of the cafe outside. We were just moving the chairs a little as needed to fit the pram in. Were quickly approached by one of the staff to say we couldn’t move them cause it’s a walk through. Which we quickly replied just moving to fit in the pram so it was clear of the walkway. Went inside to order, asked for two large lattes and two regular and cake. Came out shortly afterwards and the large lattes were the same size as my regular latte! Queried this and was told we only do one size. Ok, but should have said this. I was just checking as my son had paid and didn’t want him being overcharged! Waited a while and no cake arrived so popped in and reminded them. They answered that it was just coming. Which blatantly they’d forgotten and would have been much better to just say sorry. My grandson needed feeding so I advised my daughter in law to go inside the cafe as it was too cold where we were. They had not finished drinking their coffees so my son took the coffees in with her and the baby. They sat in a corner and she feed whilst finishing their drinks. However, they were being made to feel very uncomfortable as to coming inside with their coffees! I noticed from outside lots of glares at them! Lastly, a staff member came outside, I was still drinking my coffee and she took away my husbands plate and cup without asking! Felt so unwelcome here and won’t be returning!

We took our grandchildren here for lunch on Saturday, I know it was really busy but there is no excuse for getting the order wrong. I ordered sandwiches for my grandchildren, a plain ham sandwich which came with salad and crisps this cam up correctly and a plain cheese sandwich with salad and crisps, which came up toasted so had to send this back, we also ordered a wrap for my husband which he said was really nice and a plain toasted cheese sandwich without the caramlised onion and no salad as I am allergic to both, my toasted sandwich arrived with onion and salad, I explained to them quite specifically when placing the order. I sent my sandwich back only for them to bring out a plain cheese sandwich for my grandchild without her crisps and the same for me, I sent mine back again as this was not what I ordered. When I asked to speak to the manager he told the waitress he was too busy and would not speak to us, also when we went to pay they tried to charge me for the sandwich I never had, will definitely not be going back there again and have also reported them for not following food guidelines on allergies.

Good coffee and eats, Clean and friendly. Relaxed atmosphere inside or out. Lovely selection of ice creams as well.

It was our 1st visit and will certainly be our last. I ordered our food and drink, I also paid with my debit card at the time of purchase. We ate and drank up then left the cafe. A minute or so later we were approached outside by the assistant that served us,questioning whether we had paid. I explained I paid by debit card upon ordering. She seems to remember that and she went back. Only 3 or 4 minutes later her boss approached us in waitrose where we were shopping insisting we had not paid he asked for the receipt but no receipt was issued. It was so embarrassing as other shoppers and staff were staring at us. He was getting quite loud and speaking over us how he's fed up losing money by people walking out without paying. We explained to him we paid by debit card he insisted we hadn't as it hadn't cleared on his system. He was told we can show him through our online banking that we had paid. No apology of such just going on about him losing money on a regular basis. Thank goodness we never paid with cash. So be careful.

The food was OK finished went out got accosted by a waitress and accused of not paying my wife paid when she ordered though nothing of it went in waitroses got accosted by the rude obnoxious owner in waitroses he accused use of not paying made a scene saying his system was showing we had not paid we should him the bank receipt did not apologise for his mistake not only that they let dogs run around the restaurant

We had a lovely lunch here. We sat outside enjoying the sunshine on the cutest bistro sets. Quick, friendly service from polite and helpful staff. Good menu choices including sandwiches, salads, breakfasts and some amazing looking ice cream! They even had gluten free bread so I could enjoy a delicious club sandwich, while the Mr had a Tuna Melt. Both even came with a little side salad and some crisps just to add to the presentation. A lovely little hidden gem, tucked down Sayer Lane but definitely not to be missed. At £10 per person we felt it was well worth it. Next time we will save room for some ice cream.

Moretto's coffee shop is an amazing place. Had coffee and some sicillian pastries. They were quite outstanding. Really friendly staff. I wish there were more coffee places like this around. It really knocks Costa and Neros out of the park. Well done!

We had seen this establishment on display when we down our brewery tour so decided to give it a try. The staff were very friendly and polite . We ordered two sandwiches and latte coffees and when the food arrived we were pleasantly impressed.

Great service and the best breakfast ever! Always very accommodating and great value for money. Would recommend to friends and family!

Had an informal light lunch here with the family....coffee, soft drinks and sandwiches : friendly efficient service and good food....and good value for money. We sat outside - table service with a smile - happy to return when next in town.

After having an gluten intolerance for 18 months now,I asked the waiter if they did anything gluten free, it was like I was asking a very strange question..they did nothing to suite me so we went somewhere else after our drinks..

We stopped off briefly at this Italian style coffee shop/cafe for a Friday afternoon cup of coffee and a bite to eat. We sat indoors and an enthusiastic waiter took our order. We both had good sized cafe lattes and sandwiches. Mine was a bacon sandwich in thick brown bread - it was generously packed with delicious bacon. My wife had a cheese and ham one with a fork or two of salad. Sufficient to tide us both over until dinner. Service was super - the attention to detail regarding COVID-19 was also great. We missed some restrooms - the nearest seemed to be next to the play ground near the village green. Quite a run if you get caught short...
