After reading great reviews and needing lunch in Bourne End, I had no hesitation going to the Wimpy.
They did not let us down either.
A joyful hello as we entered and great service throughout our stay.
Fish in a bun and chips for me and my son had a double burger and chips.
Not long to wait for these choices and very happy with our food.
A great place to visit
Excelente. Realmente realmente excelente.
We came across this little gem when out for a walk in Wendover.
Although the outside seating allocation was full due to the lovely weather, we easily found a spot inside.
We both ordered the large breakfast, which arrived promptly. For the price, you got a very good portion. The black pudding was very tasty, the hash browns were perfectly crispy, the bacon was meaty with a nice margin of fat for flavour; also, perfectly cooked eggs, well cooked sausages etc. The food was piping hot too.
Our only criticism would be the use of semi-skimmed milk. Recent studies show that full-fat dairy products are protective against diabetes, obesity and heart disease. Large numbers of people and cafes are switching back to whole milk. I recommend you use whole milk too for health and flavour reasons, as it makes coffee etc. taste much creamier and you need less of it!
The welcome was first rate. I’m guessing that there was a little problem with staff communication. The young lady who served our drinks was struggling, as some of our party had to wait some time. The food came out at roughly the same time. We were a party of 21. Food. The mixed grill. You couldn’t fault the amount of mixed meats. Lamb and beef, I asked for rare and was told that it couldn’t be done as the meats were cooked in a “package”. The meats came out universally “well done.
It seemed to me that they were fairly new to the business and training new staff at the same time.
My wife and I, intending returning as a couple next year. Given the amount of effort they’re putting in, I hope they succeed.
Poplar little roadside cafe on the A259 road Hove. Poplar with Trades people. Opens from 6am and closes at 1pm. Appears to good value meals ranging from Full breakfast to salads and scampi and chips and Rolls to order if required . Always hot and tasty Lovely staff always very pleasant
A spacious cafe serving excellent Cortado, a fine Hot Chocolate, and superb Cherry Bakewell.

This lovely chocolate shop in Burnham a small village in South Bucks , is definitely a jewel, competing very youth ,with a varied selection of children sweets. He also has a selection of drinks, among them, Persian tea, Turkish coffee & in the summer months, ice cream which is organic ,& comes from Hitchin farm
Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and run by a lovely lady. The smoked mackerel sandwich and tuna melt were the best ever tasted. Great coffee too! Well worth a visit
I went to two Beano cafes while I was in the area. I found the one in Broadstairs poor; but this one was terrific. Beano isn't a chain, as such, but more a set of individual businesses. So that must explain it. The big difference was that the chefs in the Ramsgate one really knew how to cook an English breakfast. There's an art to it and they nailed it.
In particular, the food was piping hot, and the two over-easy eggs were served perfectly runny. Also the two hash browns were deliciously crisp, not soggy. Even the tea was bang on. Only let down was the catering-level sausage. They were quite busy, a good sign, with groups of locals and workmen in.
The cafe's not on the seafront; but it's a good place to stop for breakfast if you're walking, like I did, down to the western seafront from the station. Prices are good value.
A small cafe with very basic furniture and decor. Cheap basic, fill-belly menu. Some would call this a transport cafe, but bearing in mind the quality of such places elsewhere, particularly in France, this place fails to get anywhere near that standard. Our mugs of tea were produced by the man behind the small counter. He spun on his seat, threw a tea bag in each mug, filled them with hot water from machine, added milk, got up, took 2 steps and plonked them on our table!!
