The best restaurants in South East

My order was not delivered. No contact was made from the deliver driver. I have no missed phonecalls from the delivery driver. I am a nurse, unwell at home. This was a stressful situation and has wasted my valuable time and energy. Shocking service

As usual terrificfood and a warm welcome. Our friend who work in the catering world were impressed by the pleasant atmosphere and attentiveness of Charlotte who looked after us splendidly. Even with the boss on half term holiday no drop in the usual high standards.

A Disappointing Japanese Experience 🇯🇵 As someone who has visited Japan numerous times, I found Tamago's offerings to be a significant disappointment in terms of authenticity, flavor, and ingredient quality. The Tonkotsu Ramen, priced at over £15, was particularly underwhelming. The broth, despite claims of being freshly made daily, lacked the depth and richness of properly prepared pork bone broth. It tasted diluted—almost as if milk had been added to lighten it—with a flavor profile closer to instant soup cubes than authentic ramen. The noodles were unfortunately overcooked and served too soft. The pork rice dish was served with proper Japanese rice, but it lacked the fluffy texture that makes Japanese rice so distinctive. While the kids' meal was reasonably priced, it came with low-quality, overly sour pink pickles that detracted from the experience. The only bright spot was the service. The gentleman who single-handedly managed the till, served customers, and maintained a friendly demeanor deserves recognition for his excellent work. For a restaurant charging premium prices, the quality simply doesn't match the cost. The 4.6-star review rating seems inflated and likely comes from diners with limited exposure to authentic Japanese cuisine.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The roast dinner used to be lovely but today the roast potatoes were salty , the Roast dinner price I was shocked to discover now doesn’t include desserts . Would been nice to be told as got a shock on paying that my bill came go more than I expected to pay . Used to be reasonable place but there putting up prices , changed the coffee . Some staff have left . And the menu not been updated in years . They don’t even change the meat that’s served up on a Sunday don’t wish for a chicken curry or lamb roast cos you won’t get it here not even a spaghetti bol or a nice lasagne and you don’t even get a Tomato in your salad or sweet corn . Place needs updating

Great beer, superb tacos, burritos and nachos and nice staff Only criticism was it was a bit cold, coats had to stay on! Worth a visit 👍🏻

Very friendly staff and lovely clean surroundings. Good menu. Very tasty food. Good lunch time specials. Fantastic fish and chips.

Excellent food, atmosphere and environment. A bit out of the central drag but still central.

We were lucky enough to get a table inside at lunchtime on a Sunday. Nice simple menu of sandwiches, baked potatoes, baguettes, scones, cakes etc. All our meals were brilliant and we certainly didn’t leave hungry! Ordered scones and tea plus a few kids meals. All spot on. Nice friendly owner as well.

Booked for a wake and the service was excellent. Great food and the perfect send off for the relative we lost.
