Wonderful evening both times I’ve been! Roy deserves a raise, whatever he’s paid can’t be enough for his knowledge and hospitality!

My partner gifted me with a wine tasting experience for my birthday on Sunday. I expected that there would be various pairings with brief explanations, but nothing could have prepared me for the sheer level of attention, enthusiasm and detail that accompanied each combination of meats, cheeses and wines. I want to express particular gratitude to Roy - our host for the experience. Roy was incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. Friendly and knowledgeable, and fascinating to listen to. We genuinely learnt so much from just a couple of hours. All questions were answered in incredible depth, but above all else we were made to feel that no question was too silly to ask, which for two novices like us was enormously appreciated. We will absolutely be booking another experience in the future, and are looking very forward to returning.

We had a tasting experience for my husbands 60th birthday. We had the wonderful Imy who gave us a tremendous insight into each wine, she is incredibly knowledgeable and we learnt so much from her. We weren’t rushed, having plenty of time to enjoy the wines with the tasty cheese and charcuterie board - all local produce. Thank you Imy it was a lovely evening and we will return again. Recently visited The Wine Cellar as part of a weekend trip away for my partner's birthday - we booked the Sussex wine tasting which was excellent and had a great selection of local wines and was paired with some lovely grazing boards also. I would definitely recommend this package. The experience was wholly made amazing beyond our expectations courtesy of our lovely server Roys. This was our first ever wine tasting experience, so Roys took additional time to really go into detail and his genuine passion for wine really made the experience much more enjoyable. He was friendly, informative and honestly made the whole experience for us! We haven't stopped talking about how lovely and genuine he was. Thanks again Roys you were fantastic!

The owner disliked LGBT people! Stay away! He shouted at his female workers, he seemed very angry and I was dissappointed with the service and when enquiring for a formal complaint he said no need ...

I was given a wine tasting experience for my bday The young lad that was our very experienced and exceptionally knowledgeable host took us on a journey through an array of deliciously stunning wines 🍷 its was like he was telling a story.... It really was an incredible Experience .... Thank you 😊 😍

I came in for afternoon tea with my partner as part of a gift a relative has gotten us. We sat in the newly renovated section which is a small covered garden. This was really pleasant as we wanted to sit outside but not out the front where passerby's could disturb us. We had a glass of prosecco each, with a pot of English tea, and a scone with cream and jam. I would have preferred a choice of teas, but the one we got was quite nice. The scone was nice and warm and the cream and jam were delicious too. Service was quick and the gentleman that served us was very nice and polite.

Great little place, great atmosphere. Roy was fantastic, super knowledgeable and attentive. Would highly recommend checking this place out. We'll be back!

Beautiful hideaway wine bar near Brighton centre Went for a wine & cheese tasting & it was excellent. Our host was knowledgeable without being patronising & the food & wine pairing was perfect. We got to taste some delicious wines & equally delicious local cheese & charcuterie. Would absolutely recommend & will definitely be back

We had a lovely evening tasting some delicious wines in a gorgeous space. Our host Maxim was very knowledgable and hospitable! Lovely platters of cheese and charcuterie, great value for money, really recommend.

The service in this place is awful. There’s a lot of lovely places you can go to for wine in Brighton. Do yourself a service and go somewhere else. The wine we got was also very disappointing.

I got complitely ignored by staff, to the point of it being comedic. Wine was ok, but no one offered me a food menu or even tap water. Atmoshpere was alright, although chairs were a little bit uncomfortable.

Great service for a group wine tasting for a 60th birthday. Very attentive staff and great value.

Went here for my nieces 25th birthday on 19th December. We were the only people in the venue at first so it was quiet but we didn’t mind that. It was a little cold as we were sat in the single glazed window bay so if you go in winter and you feel the cold ask for a table near the back. Wine choices (by far a connoisseur) were good, another couple in the group who knew more said they were basic and typical wines to have. The samples are standard sizes and they stick to the measures, no extra splosh 🤣 Food was nice, just some nibbles to go down with the wine.

Easily my favourite place In Brighton. Fantastic knowledgeable staff and service, a great selection of wine and cheese snacks. Brighton's best hidden gem in my humble opinion.

Four of us attended a wine tasting. Lovely wines and very knowlegable host. Recommend asking question the detail of the replies was very informative. Nothing was rushed followed our pace of chatting and drinking.

This place is super cute and cozy, the atmosphere is relaxing and perfect for a good glass of wine. The service too is very friendly and knowledgeable. Me and my friend took also a nibble to share and it was just perfect. I would definitely come back here and raccomand this place.

Great service and a large selection of wines by the glass. The local cheeses and charcuterie selection was delicious and great accompaniment to our wine.

Great wine tasting experience here. Highly recommend coming here and even on a boiling hot day when seemingly the whole population of the UK was in Brighton, this was nice and quiet. A real oasis.

What a brilliant experience @thewinecellarbrighton! The wine and cheese complemented one another as well as the delicious meats. The expert knowledge and passion of Max added to the whole experience. I would highly recommend it as a brilliant treat out in Brighton! Plus Pevensey Blue is epic.🧀

Came here for a wine tasting - generous servings of both drinks and food, very good value for money. The guy who led the tasting was absolutely great - super competent, passionate and friendly. Would totally recommend!

Tried out the £35 wine tasting for my partners birthday - really impressed - so friendly, knowledgable and great value - def recommended

Great restaurant but booked a table for three using 'bookatable' for Saturday at 5pm and, upon arrival, was told the booking had not been received. The Manager, who definitely needs some customer relations training, told us they had not received the reservation. We pointed out an empty table we could have but was told this was 'reserved' - I thought that we had reserved but that didn't seem to count for anything even though we had a print out of the booking. Left and went else where. Will go back but will not be using 'bookatable'.

Really friendly staff very considerate of accessibility requirements. Delicious cream tea and brilliant location. Highly recommend!
