The food touched our souls. Absolutely delicious. The chef is kind and warm. Felt like home.

If you want to try Bengali (and/or Indian) food in Brighton just come here. Hands down the best Bengali food you will eat away from home. Amazing food, hospitality and warmth of the owner making it a homely atmosphere. We tried a full five course meal. Be it the vegetarian dishes, fish dishes, chicken or Biriyani the tastes are authentic and amazing. Highly recommended.

Exceptional food, really cannot convey how this one of the best places to eat in Brighton. Im eating some leftover Bhaji right now as i write this and its heaven.

Tried to eat there several times but they weren’t open even though it was during their opening hours.

Recently visited this place. I ordered Vegan thali for myself & Lamb biryani (Kacchi Biryani) for my friend. Food was average in taste. In V. Thali, the portion of curries/dal quite enough but rice quantity is way less and they have given 1 small side bread (Poori). Not justified as per the price.

Guys this is not an Indian restaurant. It’s a restaurant featuring Bangladesh cuisine. Very authentic and the people who work that are just sweet. my partner and I recently visited this place and they were hosting a charity buffet night. Absolutely worth the value and the chicken is BANGING!! Highly recommended

Very friendly owners. I've only ever taken away but not disappointed. Love the dhal . You can choose heat of curries. Don't open late though and do not have a licence. Sunday dinners look good value and I know the food tastes good

Delicious food. I ate here at like 8pm on a Tuesday night when I was hungry after yoga. Homemade, authentic and fairly cheap. Try the masala chai tea!

Went to a friend of my partner's birthday do at his favourite eatery in Brighton. The whole place was filled with his friends and the staff laid on a fabulous buffet style meal which was thoughly enjoyed by all.

Gorgeously flavoured, authentic food, served with kindness and a smile. We cleaned our plates and will be coming back asap. Try the king prawn special and thank me later!

Had a tasty and generously-sized vegetarian Thali with so many nice elements, plus a delicious mango lassi. Incredible value in a relaxed friendly setting. It's BYOB too (there's a Co-op across the road) although we didn't this time!

We struggled a bit with the menu as this isn't UK traditional curry place but the food was really good and we had to ask for a container to take some of it home as we couldn't manage it all. Would be interested to try the thali having read all the reviews

Please don't visit this restaurant for food. The worst taste we will ever find in this place. I am not interested to give 1 star. Food quality, preparation all worst you find here. Not sure how it is showing 4.6 star on google. Don't trust star and don't trust food of this restaurant. Parathha was total prepared in refined flour. Daal had no salt , and no tadka and cannot define veg sabzi taste. Still figuring out. Please avoid to visit better to opt subway infront of that restaurant.

⭐️⭐️🌟⭐️⭐️ Proper homecooked Indian/Bangaldeshi meal served by lovely kind people. The food tastes amazing. I dined in and got a takeaway too. Value for money and one of a kind. They don’t rush make the order, they commit themselves 100% to prepare the order. The food was exactly how I ordered, apt hotness 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ with perfect combination of spices and aroma. Kind hearted, caring and respectful staff at TunTun make you feel welcomed and comfortable. (Politeness and professionalism we encounter normally in restaurant business, but KINDHEARTED and respectful people like the ones in TumTun are hardly encountered in this country). I will go there again.

Dining alone for dinner as I just arrived into the city. Wanted to try something new. I prefer vegan selections but I had the Wednesday special - Chicken Biriani. It was priced at L10. Instead of Coca Cola, I ordered the Masala Chai tea (L4) which was delicious. Meal was flavorful and not spicy. You place order at the register and pick up your meal there. It does not seem there is a waitress/waiter staff. Although it was not crowded, expect time invested for a home cooked meal instead of fast food. Definitely worth trying at least once. They also have a Mothers Day special on Sunday, March 19th.

We visited for a family members birthday with a group of around two. There were only two people serving so that made being seen too really slow! There were a fair few items on the menu they didn’t have so a lot of order changing had to happen. When some meals arrived they weren’t as ordered however we daren’t ask to get these changed as we had already waited a very long time! The food was lovely though.

We had fuchka, bhelpuri, kaachi biryani & lamb curry. Really delicious Bangladeshi food & great service - love it.

Incredible and authentic Bangladeshi food (looking at other reviews - it's not indian!) We lived in Bangladesh 5 years and this reminds us of our second home. Hugely recommend the thalis - especially if you do a pre-order for the family sized ones (pictured) - unbelievable! Incredible vegetarian and vegan options. The owners are wonderful and do lots of charity events which are well worth going to. It's also BYOB! We go very regularly!

Went for the breakfast, had no idea what I ordered but was told it would be tasty, and it was really good... Some kind of potato thing with mini fried breads and chai tea. Carried the home cooked vibe with a good blend of spices and consistency. I will be back for more! Great value for money and friendly staff

Always loved eating at this place, but the food has become even better recently! The fish thali is amazing, you get so much food and it’s all so delicious, proper fresh homemade food. Would definitely recommend!

Terrible customer service, had to wait for over an hour to get food after they said it'd tske half an hour maximum!!!!! What a waste of time, zero respect for customers. The prices online don't match the actual price, Portion not worth the money. Don't waste your time. Very unprofessional place I wish I could get my time back

The staff is sweet but the food didn't meet our expectations. The only thing that was a 5/5 was the singara. Had fish thali and the food was very bland. Lack of salt and spice. We had asked them to keep it medium spicy and it barely had any spice.

This place serves the best thali with so many varieties, full of flavours and they were definitely fresh! This Mega thali was more than enough for us four. Would definitely recommend to give this a try. Worth every penny!

Proper home cooking from Bangladesh. The best onion bhaji I have ever eaten and probably the best paratha as well. It was great that lassi was on the menu too, a rare treat. Don't be fooled by the basic surroundings. Come in and try the food.

The staff are so friendly and the food is filling, affordable and diverse. They don't serve alcohol. They are great with allergies.

I regularly get a takeaway from this lovely cafe .The food is always fresh and delicious with 'home cooked' flavours .

The food is worth the wait (and you will have to wait!), had the Shahi Haleem and it was very delicious, the chicken samosas were freshly hot and crispy and the mango lassi was excellent too. Really, my only gripe was that the time from order to serve felt a bit slow so plan ahead if you need food quickly from here.

This was the worst Indian meal I’ve ever had delivered. The chicken curry was more like a watery soup, the meat was so dry you could have used it for kindling, and the prawn biryani was just boring & salty. Ordered through UberEats so maybe that’s the issue judging by other reviews. If the owner reads this then your delivery food was awful. Genuinely the worst I’ve ever had delivered. Is it cooked in your own restaurant kitchen or off-site at some Uber-Kitchen?

Read the previous negative reviews and cannot believe this applies to the restaurant I went to tonight...we had a delicious dinner for 20 pounds for two ...took our own wine and paid into their charity fund ...total Friday night result ! Will be back very soon..my advice is just ask for what you want and they will cook it for you ...

If I could do zero stars, I would! Quite simply the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. Awful, terrible, not authentic. We just got a load of fried food which was completely tasteless and is now going on the bin. The muscle chicken was (see photo) like something I would get in a bad kebab house in the early hours. The veg curry was made with frozen veg that tasted and looked like mush. The thali was not a thali, it looked like the frozen snack selection from Lidl, we even got a spring roll, which isn’t even Indian. Confused as we were recommended it and really so disappointed as our Saturday night has been tarnished. I now have to order something else just to get the taste out of my mouth.

Excellent food, authentic shingara of Bangladesh….best thing tasted after almost 2 years. Fuchka and somucha was fantastic too….Moglai Porota was better than home in terms of filling 😃Thank you Tuntun’s cafe for doing this in the UK……

Always so happy with this place. Authentic and delicious food at a good price (and this is coming from a student). The Thali is amazing and before having it i had it recommended to me by so many people. They have been my main source for a takeaway since i moved to brighton.

Just tried their aloo tikki wrap and it was delicious! Can’t believe that was only £5 with a drink. The owner is a sweetheart too 🌯♥️

Our favourite South Asian food place in Brighton. Always super freshly homemade and delicious. They also do great charity work with a school in Bangladesh. The new fish thali is a winner. It's all very reasonable priced, and the people who run it are super friendly. A warm welcoming atmosphere, and a nicely decorated place, with paintings of the school, and pictures from Bangladesh. Pictures are of takeaway, due to lockdown you can't eat in at the moment, but there is a table outside, which is a nice place to watch the world go by.

Love the masala dossa at this place. They make it mild but delicious. Friendly service. Highly recommended.

Love going here for an intimate lunch with a girlfriend. Can talk and eat fab fresh healthy food vegan or meaty. Friendly staff take a bottle of plonk and put £few in charity box.

Fantastic place! Went yesterday as recommended by a friend, owner was friendly and helpful, the food was truly epic, I had the chicken curry and was the perfect amount. I highly recommend visiting! I'll be certainly returning in the near future!

One of the few places where one can get authentic Bangladeshi taste. I have been there couple of times and tried five different dishes and all of foods had more Bangladeshi taste than anything I tried in UK(till today). Will be going there again.

I like this cafe because it is as close to being authentic apart from it not actually being in Bangladesh but in Brighton, always call ahead for what I want and food is spot on everytime. Worth the 45min road trip to get to, cheap parking over the road. Recent refurb looks much better. Many thanks.

One of closest to home cooked Bengali food. Prepared lovingly by the owner and his wife. Very homely and cosy. Very good value for money. A must visit.

2nd time here and turned up after 7pm tonight as a table of 7 for husband's birthday celebration. Food was scrumptious and they allowed us to bring our own booze for a small donation to their charity. Mighty portions and really good value for money. Awesome snacks/starters too! Everyone is coming back! You make your own atmosphere here as we were the only customers and it's quiet otherwise.

Very different fare from the usual Indian restaurant. Friendly, unpretentious and extremely tasty, as week as being very reasonably priced!

Best curry in Brighton 10/10 This restaurant is a hidden gem.

Dishes on offer are good, portions generous. Flavours not balanced but not too bad. Rustic environment. Peace and quiet. Reasonably priced. My only request is please provide glasses to customer for water. The customer should not have to ask for it. Also not plastic glasses, and no packed paratha. If you make your own, it creates your signature on the dish. While there are many thing you could improve but if you start with these that will really improve customer experience and boost your busy. My review is intended not to harm but to improve your business.

Me and partner went for lunch. I had a chicken curry which was lovely and filling and she had a thali for 1 also lovely and comprised of 7 or 8 dishes, could feed 2. All for £17. Rustic cafe and laid back. Recommended for casual and affordable eating out

Authentic taste, great prices, an amazing place to eat..

Great little place that has hit upon the ingenious scheme of being a one man restaurant. You order at the counter and he rings a bell for you to collect it when he's finished making it. Very tasty food; bring your own bottle; very affordable. Relatively charismatic decor. Can get swamped by noisy students.

Great vegan/vegetarian options. My 6 year old daughter really likes the food here.

Food is so bad, does not even deserve 1 star. Their panipuri is stale, the filling is mashed up chickpeas with onion, chillies & corriander, served with the tamarind sauce. Read bad reviews before going but thought i'd give it a try...totally regret it... food is so bad, try elsewhere.
