Hosted two Christmas parties here, the management and the providers are absolutely excellent. Had a great time and the ribs are so good.

A lovely country pub with large indoor and outdoor seating areas, plenty of parking, friendly staff and a broad menu of freshly cooked food. Been going for a few years now reasonably regularly and every occasion has been consistently great. A proper pub with proper food.

We visited Lyndhurst for a few days and saw great reviews for Anissa’s Thai Kitchen. We had a friendly welcome and were handed a menu which had all the usual Thai dishes and a few I had not seen before. There was a great choice. I enquired about one dish and our server was helpful and knowledgeable. We chose chicken crackling and satay to share. Both very tasty. For main we shared a beef penang, pad thai and jasmine rice. It was some of the best thai food we have experienced. Meat was tender and the aromatic and spicy flavours really complimented each other. The decor was a little tired but service was excellent. I did overhear a customer mention that it has a planned makeover soon. I would thoroughly recommend a visit as we had great food which was reasonably priced.

We went for a celebration meal. Food was amazing. I had the lamb partner had the venison and others had stake. All were very happy with the quality of the food. My partner and I stayed the night in a nice 4 poster bed with excellent breakfast and only £100 total as we booked direct.

Wonderful food , great atmosphere and the staff could not have done more to make it a great evening. The menu is great but not too large . The portions are generous but not over the top.

What an excellent little quaint pub located deep in the depths of bovingdon. Didn't book a table as was a chance drive by spot and just managed to blag the last table by the bar for a lovely pint of carlsberg shandy. I tell you what pal, we didn't eat but the Sunday dinner looked absolutely scrumptious and left my taste buds tingling! Cookie the dog came to say hello and the toilets were absolute crackers.....proper back in the day marble urinals. We left with the smell of a beautiful log burner in the ode lungs.......ah bisto!

Really bad, burnt and dry chicken and fries, not to the usual standard

We stayed here last summer and it was lovely. However, having booked again for us and disabled family, our bookings were abruptly cancelled because they’ve decided to chase bigger money event clients. (Or some such barely legible nonsense) Really unreliable, greedy and unprofessional. Honestly, they don’t deserve the 5* review I left last time. Good luck chasing the big money.

Parking kinda sucks in the area. Makes it a bit inconvenient. The food is good though!
