Really nice food and the staff were lovely

Disappointing rude attitude of the front of house manager, despite a polite request.

Managed to squeeze us in at last minute a group of seven, and the food and service was on another level, definitely going to return.

Love the rustic decor inside. Clean & pleasant. Food was lovely. Had the bread & oils, scotch egg & sausage & chutney sandwich. Moretti & Foster were nice.

We were staying overnight nearby after a 5 hour drive and just happened across this place. Very surprised and happy to see a chateaubriand which was absolutely delicious. It was the day after my birthday so why not... It was also incredible value for money, I'm used to paying way more for a sharing steak board. It was a very quiet and a very early Thursday night dinner so we were the only ones in the restaurant area but the bar area was filling up and had a good atmosphere. We were served by a very attentive and friendly guy who was managing both the bar and the restaurant very capably. My son had a kids meal and said they were the best sausages he'd ever eaten. If we are ever in the area again we will be back!

I really enjoyed the lamb shank and Belgian waffles. The service was friendly and efficient. Al in all a good night out. They serve London Pride and Doombar draft bitters.

Had roast lamb very tender. Large but flattish batter pudding. Waffles and ice cream for desert very tasty.

Lovely menu, lot of choices. Good all beautifully presented, fresh and hot. Yummy desserts. Plenty of parking available and garden next to the canal. Clean and tidy pub with warm welcome and friendly staff.

Found this gem by chance. AMAZING Sunday lunch. Staff fab. Cannot say enough good things about this place. Will definitely be back soon

A nice friendly reception with good service where they accommodated our request to be seated in a quieter area. The down side to this was that after the order we seemed to be overlooked as they dealt with the main dining area. At times we had to go to the bar to order further items, after which a server was sent. The food similarly was a mixed experience. The roasts were declared really nice. The burger however was not. They seemed to be a reformed mush, like a cheap store bought burger and tasted pretty much the same

Very nice Pub good service and fine food

Two courses for myself, wife enjoyed one. Wife’s was sea bass with new potatoes and broccoli, all on cassoulet, which was perfectly cooked and nicely presented. I chose Pie Of The Day, which was chicken and chorizo, with seasonal vegetables and buttery mash with gravy. Sticky toffee pudding for second course, served with plenty of sauce and custard. Service was very good and portion sizes for us were ample. Atmosphere was pleasant and well light. Hostess Manager (Becca?) was very welcoming and friendly. A nice pint of an Adnams’ ale and one of Madri to complete our late lunch. The high ratings seen here are justified in our view. Would return again if we found ourselves nearby. Prices were reasonable.

Seems like a lovely place where neighbours meet up and shout to each other from one side of the pub to the other... My beer was great and from a local brewery, the service was excellent and the light snack just right.

We visited the pub today. The staff members were so friendly and the mixed roast of share was absolutely amazing. It was more than enough for three people and well cooked just for £37. I recommend this place to anyone who cares about food with good quality.

Came here on our holiday last week. Food was fantastic, good beer too and good location. Decent carpark and a very short walk from the towpath. Enjoyed it so much we stopped in again later in the week!

Visited twice in the last week as part of our narrowboat holiday, once on the way up to Stoke Bruerne with family and again on the way back with friends. Two lovely evenings with great food and fantastic service from Michelle and the team. Hope to be back very soon.

Moored up outside the pub and popped in for a beer and nibbles. Really lovely friendly staff and the nibbles were really delicious! Especially recommend the pork crackling and apple sauce as it was to die for. Highly recommended and will definitely be back if we are in the area again

Had a total fantastic meal. Food was on point, staff were absolutely amazing and attentive especially Michelle, who made us all feel extremely welcomed. Drinks and food were all on time and cooked to perfection. Such a family atmosphere to the place with comfortable chairs and tables and cosy decor. Highly recommend The Plough and will definitely be returning for future family gatherings. 10 outta 10.

Very disappointing visit, I ordered the burgers for me and my partner, but what turned up was overcooked so very hard, very salty, the bacon was undercooked.. terrible experience and will not be going back...

Great canal side pub, lovely beer garden right next to the water. We moored up outside and came with our dogs for dinner. Super friendly staff and tasty food. The pie was so tasty and the bean and sweet potato burger was delicious. Had the apple and rhubarb crumble for desert and it was very nice. Thank you!

Sunday roast is amazing and really good value for money

Visited specifically to enjoy lunch in the garden next to the canal, a very relaxing time watching the vessels go by. Imagine my surprise, no food served in that area. Seriously that is the pubs USP. Food was nice too, just a pity I will go to another pub with a garden for lunch next time.

This venue sincerely makes the effort to be a more upscale venue and still be a more grounded welcoming "drinking hole" and provides a way better then average Beer selection (Craft Beer / Real Ale : take your pick of terminology it's not ultra budget prices but worth the price…).

Lovely friendly staff and good food. Be nice if you could sit by the canal for your food.

Lovely food, great hosts; especially the Bar Manager- Andrada, the General Manager- Michelle and youngest waiting staff Daisy. Always making us feel welcome and give us a great experience.

We popped into the Plough for an afternoon drink after a nice walk. After looking at the meue we decided to have a snack. We chose the white bait and buffalo wings, both garnished with a salad. For the money we received a good portion of both and they were very tasty. This was washed down with a pint of and a glass of red wine.

We celebrated My friend's babyshower last night and we all had such an amzing experience. Food and service were impeccable. I highly recommend. Thank you all the staff at the Plough x

Sunday lunch. We had a share of Sunday roast and the food was absolutely delicious the best we had for long time. We met the chef Rocky who was a delight and asset to the pub. Recommended to all We must certainly will return.

In MK with family including vegetarian coeliac and, based on reviews, thought the Plough would be worth a go. So glad we did! Welcoming atmosphere, & nice decor. Wonderful staff with real personality. Good choice on the menu. Rocky handled our dietary requirements brilliantly and was a real laugh too. Cant’t fault the food - delicious, good portions and home-made. Thoroughly recommend and will definitely go again when next in the area.

Following a recommendation we visited with some friends for lunch and were not disappointed. The service from Michelle and Andrada was proffesional and very friendly.

Lovely experience. Really nice food. Onion rings were delicious. Lotus cheesecake was to die for! Very friendly, welcoming staff. Fast kitchen service but didn't feel rushed to eat or leave. We parked in the free parking area down the road and wondered down as the car park was full. Would coke again!

The only thing was I could only have 2 hours,which was a bit tight due to my husband's disability,as he has Parkinson's eating his meal very slowly .But the staff understood after I explained.as out for dinner with family also meal very large ,one would do my husband me together.

It was a late lunch on a weekday and not too busy which was good as we were in a bit of a hurry. The food is always good, although I wondered if they had a new chef as the presentation and aspects of the dishes had changed. Anyway, nice atmosphere and staff. It's the go to place for my mother who is 92 and lives just a short walk up the road.

If I could give more stars for this place, the service especially, we would! We stopped by for lunch over the weekend and were looked after by a lovely lady called Michelle, who was just fantastic! Attentive, friendly and super with our little boy! The food was excellent too so we will absolutely be back again!

Nice dog friendly pub. However, we had a couple of pints of Timothy Taylor Landlord, which were a little disappointing.

Went for Sunday lunch. Had the roast to share, which was very nice. If I could say anything was a negative (for me) the Yorkshire pudding were the size of Yorkshire but not brilliant.

Such an incredible Mother’s Day meal, from the moment of booking, Becca was extremely helpful and accommodating. To entering a very busy environment, all staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. Michelle was our waitress, she was amazing! Our 3 year old was also over joyed at the engagement with her. I opted for the roast beef, the whole mean was delightful. Incredible Sunday lunch. Highly recommend.

Our experience at the Plough Inn was truly delightful from the moment we arrived! The staff greeted us warmly, and one member went above and beyond to engage and entertain our baby, which we greatly appreciated. The food surpassed our expectations with its delicious flavors, and the facilities were impeccably clean. And of course, the refreshing beer added the perfect touch to our meal. We're already looking forward to our next visit to this charming establishment the next time we find ourselves in the area!

A lovely pub in a rural village setting. We chose this pub as we wanted to use the ever reliable Osprey chargers nearby. A nice range of beers, friendly staff and beautifully cooked lunch and return to car to be fully charged for journey home. The pub website does not mention that the chargers are in their carpark. They are missing a trick

Fabulous! Lunch time meal, great food, amazing friendly service and good value for money. Went to the sister pub/restaurant, The Dolphin at Stoke Hammond on Saturday; equally as good! Can’t wait to try the third pub/restaurant in the chain, The Cross Keys at Woolstone!

Becca & the team really put effort into looking after us on our business meeting in the snug area, really good to have a private room to do business in such a great location in Milton Keynes, Michelle was also very good. this is a brilliant pub. very please overall have bought my wife here also has to be the best Sunday roast.

Returned to re sample as we had a poor experience previously, we knew a server from the sister pub at Woolstones The cross keys (amazing food and service) had gone to The plough, so we returned to see if things had changed, we were not disappointed at all, well done Michelle and team glad to see your talents have moved premises with you.

We ate at your pub last week and I have to say that your chef should learn how to make risotto... It was awful. I didn't complain at the time because I didn't want to upset the others in the group.

Can’t fault anything. May be could add more chicken only dishes. That’s the only suggestion. Very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. Definitely visit again.

We had a party of 19 adults and 2 small children to celebrate an 80 th birthday ( using the small room available for such events). Staff were super helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was served quickly and nobody was left waiting . The food was excellent. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be visiting again with family and friends.

Seems to be going downhill a bit. My partner and I like to pop in on a Saturday afternoon for a drink or two but last 3 visits have been ruined by others being really noisy and not respecting those who might just want a peaceful drink. The staff seem oblivious and dont ask noisy ones to turn it down a notch. I could go to a Wetherspoons if I wanted to go to a noisy pub and pay far less!

We were a table of 7 with different needs, well done beef, gravy on the side, no veg etc. Our waitress Michelle got the vibe of our group and was amazing. The Plough is a great place for a Sunday roast and we have returned again and again

Absolutely brilliant! Bex, Lewis and Fay were all very attentive and gave excellent service and the food was fantastic. I would highly recommend the plough for any event or meal.

We had Christmas lunch on 25th December £90 per head, what a disappointment. Our prawn lobster & crab starter only three prawns & one in its shell one small lobster tale & two teaspoons of very strong smelling crab meat. Plate filled out with iceberg lettuce lobster was tough, avocado was brown, the bread stale. Main course turkey, plates arrived fully loaded, varying in quantity of each item I had 11 of the largest Brussels I had ever seen, some had only five, roast potatoes varied from white like boiled potatoes dipped in fat, to reheated brown ones none were crispy for anyone. Parsnips white dipped in fat and hard, carrots strange sweet taste, turkey I had 5 slices one an inch thick! Others only two, gravy was thin like water, my wife had a half dissolved stock cube in hers, pigs in blankets small & pink not browned off and wet bacon fat, and on a positive note the stuffing was good. Christmas pudding individual portions dry in centre, I had cheese & biscuits the biscuits were soft. We had good service from the staff, shame about the quality of the food, on what should have been a special day.

Christmas dinner was a huge disappointment no crispy roast potatoes or vegetables, parsnips undercooked all at £90 a head, waitresses/staff were lovely our best part of the meal was the Xmas Pud. Gave a tip for the waitresses but chef seriously needs retraining!!! Did not want to cause a scene but this has ruined our Xmas day. 😔😔

Fabulous place to visit. Really nice atmosphere and delicious food. We went for Christmas Eve lunch with family and they seated us in a quiet area away from the main bar which our children loved. The food was amazing, especially the cheesecake. Staff were brilliant....
