Went for the Thursday Banquet deal, first time we'd visited the restaurant and we were blown away by the service and food! I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but felt our experience was worth it, can't recommend more!

My boyfriend and I went this evening for a 4 course meal. It was exceptional and the staff were so accommodating and welcoming. A brilliant restaurant, outstanding food! The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. Thank you very much for a wonderful experience.

Visited Sunday lunchtime. Excellent food, best Indian we’ve had in a long time. Lovely friendly staff. We all had the special menu, 4 courses for £12.99, took our own drink. Cannot fault the choice on the menu. Veg samosas very yummy, not greasy. Onion Bhaji lovely and crispy. Can’t wait to return. Oh, and lovely friendly staff

If you want somewhere with amazing food, a friendly atmosphere and attentive staff then this is definitely the place to go! Everytime we have eaten here the food is always absolutely amazing and it's a lovely evening out.

Just had a fantastic takeaway this evening, first time trying this restaurant and will definitely be back. Onion Baji's are the best I think we've had as long as I can remember. As well as some regular dishes we also had the Railway curry which was a first. The lamb in it was so tender and tasty and the sauce was fab. No idea what the secret spices are, never tasted a dish like it. Felt really welcome when we called in to collect and now looking forward to trying other dishes on the menu. Probably a sit down, eat in dining experience next time 😁

Has to be the best tasting food in the Thanet area, we have been coming consistently over the years and can’t fault it - fantastic value for money too. Worth coming along for the madras alone

When visiting Broadstairs we had a takeaway from Secret Spices. The food arrived on time, it was delicious. Would highly recommend.

I had a great meal and service. The food was some of the best Indian food I've had. I loved that the menu had a lot of items that were different to what you usually see at an Indian restaurant. For example the 'staff curry' and venison curry we had! Would definitely recommend.

What a find this restaurant is… Great menu selection, with dishes that you don’t find in your average Indian restaurant, ie. Staff Curry & Railway Curry. Attentive service with a smile, from the owner. Worth noting that the restaurant does not sell alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own. We will be back regularly!

My family and I ordered some takeout for dinner, when our food arrived the employee was nice and enthusiastic. I have nothing bad to say about the food either, it was overall an amazing dinner with a huge variety of flavours!

Been tonight with friends they had a charity night it was heaving the food top class service top class atmosphere top class I will never ever go to another Indian restaurant other than this one. They had a magician tonight mind boggling come to the table and interacted with us. I can't speak highly enough about this place you've never had a awesome Indian until you have been here xx

Had a take away delivered last night and I will say the reviews about this place are correct, fantastic food cooked perfectly and delivered on time and with a smile, highly recommend. The Railway curry was absolutely amazing, and my wife had the Chetcuti and again was cooked to perfection.

Went with the family the service was spot on and very friendly, food was lovely and it was a birthday meal we went for and they played happy birthday and gave a slice of cake. Would highly recommend.

Myself and my daughter popped in for bite on Tuesday 7th!! Was absolutely delicious! Mixed starter was very nice! My daughter had a chicken Bhuna, and I had the chicken Dansak! The Dansak was perfectly hot and spicy, and the buna so beautifully flavoured! The restaurant, isn’t lisenced, but you can bring your own drinks, for a surcharge of £4 per person for all you can drink!.. the staff were lovely and friendly, good value for money!…

Can't give stars for the atmosphere only because it was a delivery service, we were staying at the Walpole Hotel in Cliftonville. We are sort of connoisseurs of Indian Food, this being our favourite cuisine and having tried dozens of Indian restaurants around the south east. This food was amongst the top five we've ever had - absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked, the balance of heat and spices was perfect. It was delivered promptly, still hot, by an impeccably clean and smart young man. We'd certainly choose this restaurant again.

Tonight was disappointing the Daal was more like soup and the Dhringri Palak was unseasoned and boring.

We ordered thinking that the menu looked good, modern Indian. However, we were extremely disappointed with the food when it arrived. Oil was seeping through the containers. The Chicken rogan Josh was appalling, the masala was so sweet and the chicken didn’t taste as though it was cooked properly. The Akhni pulao was not as described it was actually an oily Biryani. The Dessert was “passion fruit brownie and beyond” and it was evidently out of date. The cake was so crumbly and dried out. We had to Chuck it in the bin. I’m absolutely appalled by the standard of food of secret spices and will never order again if I ever visit Margate.

Been wanting to try this place for some time after hearing great t; and finally decided to book after reading about an unmissable offer for £10 pp. Received such a warm welcome and the staff were enthusiastic and welcoming. Some exciting dishes on the menu that were more adventurous than a normal set menu so was very pleased to get the opportunity to try new recipes. The portions were perfect; not tiny and not wasteful either; managed to (almost) clear our plates and every dish was cooked authentically and to perfection. Sadly we were too full to sample the desserts that sounded delicious, but that’s only more reason to go again, which we most certainly will. Such a lovely atmosphere and amazing food; can see why everyone raves about Secret Spices!

We have just eaten the most delicious meal here. The food was beautifully cooked and so tasty. The service was also very very good. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Indian food.

One night in Margate, and where to eat? Trip Advisor suggests Secret Spices is #1, so must be a reliable choice. And it was. After a 20 minute walk in the rain my wife and I were taken to a warm corner and a table set for four (you always need space for an Indian meal). Service was efficient and friendly. The menu offered numerous items rarely seen elsewhere (venison, sea bass, beef, staff curry, railway curry, dangerous curry (!), and so on. We opted for the sea bass (delicious) and beef raunaq (melt-in-mouth tender). Sides of pilau rice, bombay aloo, okra, mushroom bhaji and a plain paratha were cooked and presented to perfection. The lack of an alcohol licence was a surprise but did not disappoint - coke and Appletiser worked well. If we return to Margate, we will be back to sample more from the imaginative menu.

We had another delivery excellent food as always our opinion is that its the best Indian food we have had.

We've been coming to the restaurant for the past few years, but haven't been for around 12 months. We needn't have worried that anything's changed, because as always - it was an excellent evening. Poppadum's and dips were fabulous and every person in our group of 8 had a different main course with each saying theirs was delicious. My sister in law (notoriously hard to please food wise) said that her lamb dish was the best she had ever tasted!! My nephew said his venison curry was the best curry he's ever had. As usual for me - I asked for a standard dish to be doctored to my taste, and they were only too happy to oblige. The result was a gorgeous curry that was just perfect to how I'd described it. Sides - all amazing and rice and naan just so tasty. The best thing overall - The service without a doubt. The guys made our evening so much fun with their warmth and good humour. Nothing was too much for them, and they were so attentive with their service. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!!!

Not bad but not amazing food, nothing particularly outstanding. 'Dangerous' curry was just heat without much flavour, Vindaloo was quite bland and couldn't taste any vinegar, which should be predominant in a proper one, Ambiance lacking, lights too bright, and service a little rushed , having wanted to visit here for a while due to the positive reviews, personally I wouldn't rush back.

Having visited Secret Spices on a few occasions now, I find myself finding an excuse to travel all the way from Dover, to Margate just to indulge in their delicious, great value food! Upon each visit, the restaurant has not been particularly busy - perhaps this is helped by me visiting during the week, rather than on the busier days such as Fridays and Saturdays. The food however has always been absolutely top notch. I've had Indian cuisine from restaurants and takeaways from around the world and I truly believe that the quality and flavour produced at this outlet really does surpass many others that I have tried, certainly, the best I have had here in the UK. The restaurant setting is classy and easy on the eye, the seating a little worn, but very comfortable, the service - very attentive, the food - DELICIOUS. I always look forward to making another visit to Secret Spices, thank you for your great Restaurant!

Not being local I took a quick look on Google at some reviews to find a decent curry and settled on this place...with zero regrets! A very friendy welcome and excellent service from the staff with excellent dish suggestions. It was a delight to see the menu filled with speciality curries rather than just the usual suspects as well as lots of fish options which was refreshing. I tried something totally new and was not disappointed, the meat was tender, the sauce delicious and the heat just right. The garlic naan was divine and just the right size. The chick pea side was the star of the show though. All in all a great experience. A wonderful restaurant, I would highly recommend!

We were denied dining at this place. We were rudely mentioned to order drinks without which the restaurant wont take main food order. Due to dietary allergies I cant order alcohol and non alcohol drinks.But the restaurant owner asked us to leave.

Popped in for a meal over the weekend. We phoned to book a seat last minute and they managed to fit us in straight away. When we got to the restaurant it was pretty empty which was a surprise for a Saturday evening. We were seen to pretty much straight away and drinks bought out shortly after, and had to wait the usual time for the food. Overall a decent experience with decent food but not the best we've had at an Indian restaurant. We would visit again if we are in the area

Sorry to be writing this but the food was incredibly disappointing. Bland, cold, very very mild and frankly not a good curry. I've also been unwell for three days since, and it's hard to pin that on anything else. Corkage charge is displayed on the menu, but I hadn't seen it -when challenged it was because they don't serve alcohol, but that's their cost saving measure, not my problem. The service charge they add on disappoints me too. If I'm paying restaurant prices then I'm getting the service as part of that, so to add on 12% for a table of three in the early sitting when the place was only 30% full is ridiculous. Servers were pleasant and welcoming. Chairs were ripped and in need of repair as was the water feature. Would never dream of returning.

Having dined and enjoyed the meal at Secret spices a while ago, we though we would try this restaurant again, wrong decision! Service and ambiance good , food at most mediocre. Salmon with garlic sauce - the salmon was dry and the sauce was bland and costing £15 was very disappointing! Shall not return!

Had a take away delivered last night. I ordered the Dangerous curry (lamb) with rice , keema naan and 2 popperdoms . My boy had chicken korma and plain naan. We shared the other bits. The flavour was absolutely lovely, wasn’t too hot at all....

We ordered a little bit of everything. Mixed starters, naans, couple of different rices and sides. All of it tasted amazing. The customer service was also very good without being overbearing.

Unbelievable, the poppadums stupendous. Bring your own drinks, I’m battered. The biriyani was overflowing with aromatic flavours and smells. Keema naan different but dank. Service quality. 5 star!!!

It was date night, so a visit to Secret Spice was in order. The staff are warm and friendly, the food is absolutely delicious, not the usual all heat and no flavour curry. Well cooked, well seasoned, really flavour filled food. Not rushed, so time to enjoy our meal and our date. Was all this an expensive night out, well no, not when measured against how much we enjoyed our evening.
