Lovely little pub/bar in Spital. Lots of blokes frequent to watch the footie but they do a good pint and it's a change from the big chain pubs, little and atmospheric.

Good food and pleasant atmosphere at The Red Fox. Not too noisy, very relaxing meal.

The grilled prawn skewers are smoky, juicy, and served with garlic butter.

Beautiful place to sit and it was lovely in there, the staff were friendly but the chicken wasn’t cooked properly and it was served cold.

We hosted two friends for the ‘festive’ dinner on Friday evening. Whilst the hotel was very busy with a large number of groups dining in the Crystal Suite, the Lawns Restaurant was busy enough to give a good atmosphere without too much background noise. Staff on arrival were very attentive and courteous. We had drinks in the bar area before being called through to the restaurant at the designated time. Not able to fault the food in any way, well cooked, presented and was full of flavour. All staff were attentive in a discrete manner.

I hope I am correct in assuming the name of the coffee shop has changed from Gorge Us to Our Coffer shop and I am reviewing correct place. I am a great fan of afternoon tea and I rate the afternoon tea at this cafe as unbeatable in value variety and taste. I chose to visit again for my birthday with friends who don’t live in the local area. I explained the place itself is “quirky” to say the least but I highly rate the food and service as every time I have ever eaten there it has been excellent. We placed the order via Facebook giving all of our choice of sandwich filling in advance. One of the group has specific dietary requirements as she is dairy free and this was noted also. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the afternoon tea was a great success as always but what makes it stand out for me is the most amazing home made cake selection you get with it. My “dairy free” friend was truly amazed at her separate tier of goodies to eat. They had gone above and beyond to cater for her and she appreciated it so much we are booking again for her birthday in May. Another friend with us said she would definitely be booking for her mums birthday. I think that sums up how good the experience was

Friendly staff and food was delicious, I had smoked salmon omelette and my friend had a breakfast, it was reasonably priced and the waitress couldn’t do enough for us especially with having a friend that likes to swop his breakfast items around, thank you we will definitely be back.

Such a lovely all round evening, the staff were so available and professional, the facility is completely authentic and in pristine condition, the stringed orchestra was absolutely impeccable. We were treated by my Daughter and future Son in Law and couldn't have a more perfect evening. The food was 1st class but the main portion was too big ... as if that's a complaint! Stands up as one of the best nights out in Wirral.

Hash brown, scrambled eggs, beans, mushroom for £1.80. And the quality of food was excellent. Pleasant clean eating area. 5 stars. Update 2025 Fish and chips pretty good. Plus vegetarian lasagne. Cost £7.35.

My friend and I were looking for a cosy pub lunch pretty last minute - we called to book 45 mins before and got lucky to get a table right next to the cosy fire place. The menu was a good size and the options were varied with a big focus on hearty pub classics. I went for the roast as it was Sunday and it was a 10/10 - couldn't fault it. Home made yorkshire, delicious fresh veggies and generous, tender beef. We had a coffee course at the end of the meal which was lovely as the fire burned away. Last but not least, every single member of the team was wonderfully welcoming and polite. Please give this local gem a go! Thank you so much for having us, we will definitely be back xx

We always get such a warm welcome! The food & service are exceptional with the owner and staff going above and beyond. We have visited many times and the staff have taken the time to advise on dishes. I highly recommend a visit - you won’t be disappointed!

Went on a quiet Thurs eve spur of the moment, and what a gem, deceiving place as it looks small from outside but food area is really big out back, good decor and friendly environment. The food was varied and was reasonable in price, we had scotch egg and beetroot and avocado tartar to start, a normal burger and the thatch burger as mains and that was enough we were stuffed couldn’t eat it all, the service was friendly and chatty but not over bearing. We will definitely be back again!!
