The Seven Stars in Wirral

Called in after a walk for some lunch on a Saturday. Friendly pub with a gorgeous beer garden. Food was delicious, I had the gammon which was classic pub food, tasty and filling. My wife had a sandwich which she really enjoyed, again a 'hearty' portion which was just what she was after, but not overwhelmingly big. All fresh and reasonably priced, hadn't visited before but we will do again.

Carl and Paula are great hosts. With lovely delicious food and cask ale. Also a roaring fire for cold days.

Chip shop pie n chips is a compliment .raw pastry and chewy meat frozen chips

Seems to only open when it suits. Twice it's been listed as open and when we've arrived it's shut.

Fantastic pub, great Sunday roast, the only downfall was the price, a little expensive.

Nice staff, food tasted ok but well overpriced. I had a fish pie that was 2cm thick in a small dish, 3 prawns a bit of white fish. No salmon as advertised on the menu. Mainly just a thin layer of mash! Could have scraped the whole thing into a tea cup. Perhaps an egg cup full of peas on the side. It tasted ok but for £20 was a complete rip off. This is pub food remember guys..not a fancy restaurant or even a gastro pub. Also the toilets were in need of a thorough clean. Its a shame as the staff on the whole seemed so nice and so helpful and that is the only reason we never complained but wish we had. Perhaps if the chef spent more time in the kitchen, instead of wondering round then the food might improve. Money for old rope springs to mind! We left and had some crisps in the car as we were so hungry! Very disappointed, £50 out of pocket and starving when we left Won't go back

Very good service even though two members of staff had rang in sick on Day we went. Food and drink good quality.

Stopped off for a swift soft drink at the venues beer garden after a long walk. Plenty of options for non alcohol beer/Guinness - lovely old pub in a beautiful historic village.

If you are going to go walking around Thornton Hough this pub is a great place to start as it's in the centre of the village just opposite the church. It's handy to get to as the 487 bus from Liverpool stops just outside. It's got a lounge and dining area and in the Summer it's nice to sit in the beer garden. It has a small car park but there's normally parking spaces over the road. Haven't eaten in a while so can't comment on food, but they do usually have a good range of Real ales and beers.

Always have a fantastic meal when we eat at the Seven Stars, never disappointed. Service is always excellent and the atmosphere is spot on too.

Would of loved to of tried your food but unfortunately after checking both google and facebook to make sure you where open before walking from a nearby hotel. We arrived to find you are in fact closed Tuesdays although both sites showed you as being open.

A local pub with real ale and pub food. Maybe avoid the food. Could do with a deep clean too, it's a bit too rustic for me... and turn the heating up a little early doors.... Difficult though that might be these days

First time me and the wife visited here What a lovely old traditional pub with great members of staff, the roast dinner was the best we’ve had in a long time. Something your nan would knock up on a Sunday for the family And having homemade bread and butter pudding when do you see this on a menu 5 stars from the Jordan’s

Nice atmosphere, cozy little pub. The food completely lets it down. Don't know for certain but some of the meals definitely seemed frozen and microwaved. The quality and taste overall was just basic pub grub with bistro prices. None of us enjoyed our food. Not impressed at all. Can't fault the service or front of house though. Won't be returning again for food.

Picture postcard village location. Locals and visitors, some from USA, when I popped in on a bike ride for a half. Landlord happy to chat. He showed the Americans some antique police handcuffs!

Haven't been here for a while but previous visit have always been enjoyed . Friendly and welcoming staff and the food had always been really nice, from sandwiches to meals.

Walked to this pub two weeks in a row and on both occasions the place looked closed despite website and google saying it should be open. We had been looking forward to a pint and lunch in the beer garden but we were sadly denied on both occasions.

Arrived at 5:50pm on a Sunday to be told they had stopped serving food, even though the website says they serve food and can serve food in the bar until 9pm

Food was mediocre service ok, menu not as advertised on website sorry cannot really recommend it don't think I will be going back

Stopped off on Sunday driving through village hubby had the beef Sunday lunch he said it was delicious 😋 I had the prawn and tuna salad and chips that was lovely and a nice shandy too.

Lovely pub in a great setting. The menu is varied and the quality of the food is very good. Offering both indoor and outdoor dining it's the perfect place to stop if you're exploring the beautiful surroundings.

Tried to book a table four days in advance, never got back to me by the night before so booked elsewhere. Tried ringing twice after I had no reply to booking online, both times just said could not answer try again.

Enjoyed a meal with friends at lunchtime today. Food and service was excellent!

Great place and everyone's food was good, except mine. I ordered the Grilled Chicken but when it came it was served as a burger, which was not mentioned on the menu. Also unfortunately the chicken was like a piece of leather. I wouldn't let this put me off coming again though as it was just a bad Dayton pick chicken I guess.

Great Sunday lunch and friendly helpful staff

Ordered two coffees, a latte and an americano. The cups were less than 200ml. We have been here many times and this is the only time we have been disappointed. Although it can be rather pricey.

We have had a wonderful Sunday Lunch here,bit of a hiccup on the soup,but this was soon rectified and taken off our bill. Excellent Quality food

The Seven Stars used to be our go to place for a good Sunday Roast and other good freshly cooked food but upon our last visit we were very disappointed. My wife had the Sunday Roast, there was just nothing nice about it, just pub grub that you can get anywhere else for half the price. I had the Lamb Shank, again nowhere as nice as it used to be, more like boil in the bag food. I doubt we will go there again. 😞

They advertise food all day every day. We arrived at 6.50 and was told last food was 6.45. They would let us order. Very strict and not all day. Wasn't very nice people behind the bar

Please avoid for food at all costs. Went here over the weekend and after 10 minutes of eating, I was violently sick into their bathrooms. I had chicken and bacon and the owner told me it was cooked to 66 degrees which could honestly kill someone. The temperature chicken and pork needs to be cooked is 75 degrees. Which is way off what he told us. If you didn’t have a background in hospitality you wouldn’t know this information off hand. Just be so careful because if I was a child I would’ve been hospitalised. It’s a total embarrassment and an insult to the food industry. Don’t waste your money here or risk being sick and go to The Red Fox instead.

Had my 25th birthday meal here for over 15 people, was absolutely brilliant, everyone got what they wanted, the food and service was impeccable! Will definitely be coming back after making my day so special 😊 xx

Food very disappointing curry like a microwave ready meal from Iceland

My friend and I had chicken and bacon sandwich, no choice of bread, I seemed to be cheap white. The bacon was pink and not hot ,chicken was cooked but also pale. Edible but not inviting. The pub itself and staff were friendly

Top pub in the lovely village of Thornton Hough

Popped in for a drink and ended up having Sunday Lunch. The welcome was friendly, the food was lovely and even a thanks for coming from the owners as we were leaving. 5 star food hygiene rating ,and a lovely beer garden too. We will be back soon.

Beautifully kept pub in a picturesque village. I have to say the service was excellent. The staff are so attentive and welcoming. Food was fantastic and there is a good beer selection. If you like black pudding you have to try the starter!!!

If you want cosy village pub food, this is the place! Stake pie and chips fit for a king! I was hungry and now I'm stuffed.

A group of friends ate here last week, we arrived without booking and were welcomed. All our various requests were dealt with and our meals were excellent. The establishment, the food, the service and the manager/owner were all first rate. Well recommended!!

Lovely country pub, situated in a postcard perfect little village. Went in with friends for a leisurely lunch... Traditional decor with burning log fire. Food was delicious. Staff went over and above even creating a dessert that was not on the menu. Will definitely recommend and go again when I'm next in the area.

Even though it was a rainy afternoon we had a lovely time in this proper English pub. Crackling fire, warm, good food, good beet and friendly staff.
