Lied to, order was advised delivered when not even left. Cold when arriving 40 minutes late. Curry was nothing like what ordered. Absolutely avoid this restaurant

We recently visited Alam Balti and was realy happy with the service we received. there was 6 of us and we was kindly looked after by the staff we brought our own alcohol which is a good idea and saved us some money we all had popodoms and a chutney tray which was Free with our main meal . would highly recommend the lamb bhuna if anyone is looking for a nice small relaxing restaurant give Alam Balti a try you won’t be disappointed

It really was Lovely food, we couldn’t fault that, the quality of the food was beautiful…we were the only ones in the restaurant & it was nice enough service but tried to over charge us at the end of the meal. When the bill came every food item was overcharged. The bill was £221 (with a service charge that wasn’t discretionary) however when I recalculated myself the bill was £195 with the service charge, which in hindsight now I wished I’d asked them . He tried to say the calculator stuck but it wasn’t because of that, I would advise anyone to check their bill when they eat here. Also no child’s menu so it cost £11.90 for chicken nuggets and chips for children.

After waiting well over the wait time for our takeaway last night they missed one of the main meals off…. I then rang the restaurant and yes they sent the other meal out over half an hour later but the rice which came on the first delivery was to share and the naan bread both of which where freezing once the final meal arrived. And to say that was bland there was barely any chicken in it….. it went straight in the bin bear in mind we were now on 9pm. I have requested a refund but they think it’s ok that we waited until this time for a disgusting meal! Will definitely be giving this place a wide berth and ensure my friends and family do too. There are not many halal outlets in the Wirral. Alam Balti is a slightly old fashioned restaurants. Almost a throwback to the 1980s. It is an establishment which is non busy times strives for personal service. I had a mixed grill which I liked apart from the seekh kebab. That was because it was of the old fashioned type popular in Bengali run restaurants in the 1970s.

Had an excellent meal at Alam Balti. Food very nice and service too as they left us plenty of time between courses. We brought our own drinks and no charge for corkage. Will definitely be back again soon

Popped in late and were the only people in there. Despite this we were greeted warmly and the freshly prepared food was delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Dreadful food, very difficult to make Indian food bland but by they achieved it by the plate full. Plenty more restaurants in the area to try so I would recommend you did..

We ordered a takeaway from here on Xmas eve. Neither my wife nor I eat meat so we ordered a veggie byriani and a veggie masala. The byriani was fine but the masala was an embarrassment. The sauce was great but the “”veggies” comprised 3 chunks of potato and a few green beans. The sauce that came with my wife’s byriani had more veg in it. It was our first experience of this place and it’s likely to be our last!

After a friend has repeatedly recommended the Alam we finally got around to paying a visit last night. Having purchased some wine from the conveniently placed off licence next door we perused the menu outside, chatted with another customer then entered. Met by the lovely Sayed who seated us, brought menus and glasses for our wine. They have quite an extensive menu including a great selection for vegetarians. We opted for the Banquet for 2 at £30, that's for 2 not each. We had poppadoms and a tray of mango chutney, onion and tomatoes plus a really delicious dip which consisted of yoghurt, chilli and lychee, coriander and one more ingredient that I can't remember. This was followed by 2 onion bahjis each and a lamb shèek kebab with salad, again well presented and very tasty. Then came rhe mains, chicken tikka massala and a lamb balti, 2 portions of pilau rice plus a naan bread and allo gobi. Generous portions , full of tender meat, delicious sauce and a light fluffy nan. Needless ro say we couldn't finish everything but our leftovers were boxed up for us and Sayed even gave us 2 pots of the yoghurt dip we had raved about. And all for just £30, what a bargain . We will definitely return. Ps they also offer a takeaway/ deliver service

We have ordered from here many times over a couple of years and usually they are very good. We always order the same thing and my wife has the tandoori murg masala without fail. However tonight we got our order and the wife’s was wrong. Called the restaurant and spoke to someone who was rude and arrogant. I told him the order was wrong and the response was, I should have known what I ordered!!!! I said I did and said the order was wrong, the driver came and delivered the right meal it was not the drivers fault he said it was the chef!!! I’m not going here again had enough

Ordered tonight off justeat - chicken chilli garlic, butter chicken extra hot, garlic rice, peshwari naan, onion naan, onion bhaji, sheik kebab. We’ve had a lot of curry deliveries in the last 14 months of lockdown from most of the restaurants around bebington and I’ve got to say this was by far and away the best we’ve had. Spicy, flavourful, fresh, aromatic and downright tasty enough to make me log on to tripadvisor and post a review. First Class, thank you.

Having ordered from here many a time I was disappointed by tonight's delivery .I had my usual chicken sagg which I must say was full of chicken but very lacking in flavour. My husband did enjoy his chicken pakhia . We also ordered 2 garlic nan but both where very dry and again tasted like plain nan and no flavour at all . Delivery was on time Don't think I will order again sorry

Don't bother. After waiting 3 hours, that's an hour and a half late. They cancel. Disgusting service. Much, much better Indian restaurants nearby. Never, ever use this place.

Ordered a take away and we did not receive what was ordered but charged for the add on's not included. When I called the restaurant they told me to send photos of the meal as the chef said everything was included.This was a meal we ordered as treat, my husband had been furloughed just like thousands of other people and it was expensive and very dissapointing. Will not order again or visit the restaurant after COVID.

Avoid unless you want to pay over the top. Absolute rip off... 4 starters, 4 meals, 1 nanbread, 1 poppadoms, 2 halves lager £91. I brought a menu home and even picking the most expensive ones it did not come to £91

We recently had a spur of the moment visit to Alam Balti, after having not visited (for no particular reason) for quite some time. We had a wonderful time and have visited again since. This is now firmly back up there as a local, regular restaurant for a Friday night. The staff are all so lovely and friendly and the owner remembered us and made us feel very welcome. The food if anything, is now even better and the BYO alcohol policy is still a welcome bonus. Great location for a late dinner after visiting Liverpool too, as just by Bebington Station.

Takeaway for lamb vindaloo 1 chicken passandra 1 chips 1 rice 3 popodoms for a takeaway °£25 absolutely discusting prices good average at best keep clear of this place plenty of cheaper places with better food

I enjoy ever meal I have here. Aldi is close which means the BYO policy works well. Suffice to say I'll be back.

The food was good and had a great evening.Until he came out with the bill and had added an exact amount of £50.00 to the bill. When he spotted that we where checking the bill he walked over and gave us a menu and said mistakes happen.Not £50 mistakes.Just check your bills if you try here.

chicken pakora - dry chicken and very poor batter onion baji - soggy and flavourless king prawn starter - was like an old boot paneer pakora - as dry as mothballs popadoms - standard

The owners of this restaurant are so welcoming and warm, they will cater to your needs and tastes, and the chef will make off the menu options for some extra special food. My sister was traveling though India so Ali had the chef make a dish typically found in the region of India where his family live. Great service and attention to the customer is excellent. A family favourite!

Although the food was nice I was charged 4.00 for delivery when they stated on just eat 1.00 delivery, I drive myself so from bebington to birkenhead is a 10 min drive if that so to be charged 4.00 is a joke. I called the resturant and they were EXTREMLY RUDE, blaming me for not reading the charges, he raised his voice when I challenged him, saying the delivery charge was 1 pound I will NEVER use them again, how dare they overcharge me then be so rude over the phone !!

We use the Alam Balti regularly, mainly for delivery orders, occasionally to sit in, and have never been disappointed.The food is of very good standard and is always delivered before the estimated time. If you can't park outside the restaurant on the main road then there is copious parking a stones throw up the road, so access is not a problem if we ever fancy eating in, and the wait on staff are always very pleasant and on the ball with orders.Highly recommendable, keep up the good work!

I have used this restaurant numerous times and it's always produced the goods on time and it's very tasty food...But...this time round after waiting nearly two hours for the food to arrive once it arrived all food was cold and the poppadoms where missing...curry for me is all about the pappadoms to start with. I phoned the restaurant....no apologies ...quite rude...and an offer of refunding the poppadoms. Sorry Alam baltI I never thought I would give you a negative review ....but you've really let yourselves down. I won't be using again. On another note the delivery driver is always pleasant and happy

We are finding the curries round here - Birkenhead - sub-standard. We did live in in East London for many years so are spoilt. However, the curries were bland and generic. The quality of meet is cheap. Poppadoms were burnt. the Peshwari Naan had one raisin in it! The Sprite was 7UP from France!

highly recommend the Lamb Balti Tikka Buhna :) one of very few places that do it and incredible every time.

If you look at my previous review of the Alam Balti it was full of praise and would have highly recommend anyone to give it ago.

I go to Indian restaurants on a regular basis and sometimes friends suggest a change but we always come back here . The staff are polite friendly and willing to adapt the menu for vegetarians and other requests . They dint sell alcohol but there is a News and Booze a couple of doors up .

delivery price is quite extreme £4 and food was tasteless

Probably the worst Indian we have had ordered.£24.00 worth of food went straight in the bin. Also very rude on the phone. Madras was basically a tomato pasta sauce and paneer dishes were in a mascarpone sauce. Great if you want Italian. Really not happy with this meal, and it grieves me that we have paid good money for something that is way below standard, and to be hung up on by the restaurant.

we ordered this food whilst on the way back to our house from friends and the restaurant said 22:15 via email. at 21:30 I got a call saying he was outside and he was leaving our food at the door. food was cold by the time we got home so went in the bin.

It was my first take away meal ordered from Alam Balti House & Restaurant. I should have collected my meal at 9.30pm. However due to a problem leaving my home I was half an hour late collecting my meal. The guys at Alam are very polite and professional. My meal was absolutely the best Indian dish I have had. I love Indian cuisine, I will most certainly be ordering again from Alam. I will be soon booking a table to experience the Restaurant experience. Fantastic. Simply the Best, better than all the rest! Food was absolutely terrible masala spicy? Chips undercooked and not edible, partner didn't eat his curry absolute waste of money! Never again!!

I missed off a meal and didn’t notice until it got delivered, phoned the restaurant and nothing was too much trouble they were happy enough to deliver within 10 minutes . Food was so tasty and definitely will be ordering again . Many thanks Karen

love this place!! always come to this take away when i order an Indian... but tonight the chips were very under cooked! but other then that, everything else is perfect!!!

Food did not arrive. On contacting the restaurant was told it would be 5. On the third time of contacting the restaurant to find out where the delivery was was told that they had not received the order although I had an order number from Just Eat. Will not be using this restaurant or Just Eat again.

Sorry but the food was not authentic enough for my taste - two meals looked like sloppy soup - the service was good - the bathroom was upstairs - so not suitable for those people who have difficulties climbing stairs. you can take your own drinks and the food is reasonable priced. Not enough for a return visit though.

Delivery was great, mixed kebab was lovely... we ordered two curries Bhuna and rogan josh... they tasted and looked exactly the same, both just had the flavour of tinned tomatoes with no other differences. Especially no spice.

We had not been here for some time and called in on a weekday night. It was fairly busy and we found the staff to be as friendly as we had remembered. The food was excellent and not expensive and there was a nice atomshere. You can also bring your own alcohol which is handy and ensures you don't get ripped off. Definitely will visit again soon.
