Khao Soi Thai Restaurant in Wirral

Ordered a vegan pad Thai for main meal… got a dish with egg in it! I double checked if it was vegan… server replied yes… then I started looking through it and could tell it definitely was egg! He took it away and it got remade but seriously.. do t advertise vegan dishes when you clearly don’t know what vegan means! Husband was happy with his at least!

We were staying in hoylake and decided to try Thai for a change , we weren’t disappointed. Service very prompt but the most important thing was that the food was delicious. Very fresh tasting and nicely presented . Would recommend . Wished we were locals as this would be a regular haunt .

I am not impressed Ordered a take away and turned up Their card machine didn’t work on my first card It didn’t work on my second card . Both cards are valid and work. They admitted it was their machine . So it was cash or no food . There is a cash machine outside which luckily takes credit cards ( at a price ) so I managed to get some cash . Paid up and went home The two chicken satays were the worst I have ever had . Dry , burnt . Overcooked and a thimble of satay sauce . My dad could eat it . So at £6.50 x2 . This is a complete rip off , don’t bother . The good news was the main courses were fine . Massaman curry . So beware of the payment process and the satay . Not a good experience .

Really disappointing takeaway this evening from Khao Soi Thai. We'd really looked forward to this treat, but I can't remember a Thai being quite so bland. Compared to other local Thai's like Lily's Thai or Siam, the dishes we had this evening really lacked flavour. Especially given the punchy price point (Honey Duck @ £13.95!), we really expected something special but the food delivered substantially missed the mark. Delivered on time, and warm, but just a real miss on quality.

The food was so fresh and very tasty. The Thai green curry was my favourite. The service from the staff was amazing, we will definitely be visiting again.

If you want anything special the chef is always happy to try and accommodate your request. Great service. Lovely ambiance. If you are ever in Hoylake and wondering where to choose to go, go here, you won't be disappointed. Khao Soi is a superb dish!

Really friendly service backed up by great food. One of the best Pad Kra Prow I have had. And I have tasted more than a few. Not to mention fantastic value with the house wine not only being a very reasonably priced but easy drinking.

It used to be so good, but nowadays it doesn't even do takeaways, despite have a very well presented website orientated to takeaway service.

Wow what I can I say, amazing food and impeccable service on what was a busy evening in August. We had the crispy pork stir fry and the weeping tiger beef sirloin for mains and both dishes were cooked to perfection. A fantastic local restaurant that won’t leave you disappointed.

My daughter has special needs and only drinks milk .. they had None - BUT instead of just saying no the owner went out and got some especially for her this was lovely of him although charged £2.50 a small glass . The food was faultless we got 2 starters , ribs and spring rolls and we both ordered Pad THai one with chicken one with prawn both lovely and huge portions . Atmosphere was good with light music . Recommend

Khao Soi is a joy. The food is always delicious, beautifully prepared, tastes wonderful and nothing is too much tourble for the super-friendly staff. We were last here in Fenruary and have really missed it during lockdown.

Served grey off beef and were served by really horrid staff who did not help or treat us well. It was very upsetting and they then tried to charge us and got very mean when we told them it was off.

Had an excellent meal. One Panang prawn curry and one Gaeng Kiew Waan with chicken. Served with coconut rice. Fabulous. Good Malbec wine The staff were helpful and friendly Yet again an excellent choice.

My husband and I have been here many times, and I have been meaning to write a review for a while. From the wine list (and choice of glasses) to the starters, curries and noodle dishes, we have always enjoyed everything we have been served. Service is professional, swift and friendly. We want this to stay in Hoylake and thrive!

Food was delicious. Really good. But the evening was spoilt by having to sit in a cold restaurant near a door which couldn’t be shut properly. The restaurant has lots of take away customers which adds to the problem as the door was constantly being opened and closed. Would recommend making sure you are given a table at the back of the restaurant away from the cold draughts or waiting until the summer before going.

What a gem. Food was spectacular and service was wonderful. Went there for a family birthday and was not disappointed. Tom Yum soup was delicious and we didn’t have to pour our own drinks it was like being on holiday. I will definitely be visiting again soon.

Despite arriving quite late for our booking, staff were courteous and service prompt. The restaurant was busy but our orders came quickly and were freshly cooked and delicious. We will definitely go again.

A simple and restful decor, staff with smiles...the genuine smiles of welcoming hosts, and perfect food at reasonable prices. Will definitely be back next time on the Wirral!

Been here a few times and it is always consistently nice Thai restaurant. We went again last night and I really had forgotten how good the food was! We had a mixed starter which was absolutely delicious, hot and came with a selection of dipping sauces. We both had curries as a main and they were so tasty. The prawns were stunning and plentiful. The price was really reasonable for what we got and the service we got from all the staff was beautiful, polite, attentive but not intrusive. Can't wait to go back. Special thanks to Pat who waited on us with a huge smile on her throughout, an absolute star - thank you!

Nice decor, with good atmosphere. The Thai was average, have had better. The plates came out warm but the dishes with food on were pipping hot, nearly burnt fingers which makes me think the food was microwaved !

The food? Excellent. Service? Excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the spicy Thai sausage followed by stir fried prawns with noodles and vegetables, but what really made the night memorable were my fellow diners.

Visited on. Thursday evening with some friends staff were friendly enough but did get the order wrong not a major issue. My issue with this place is that it is a Thai resturant and the food served is really modified for European tastes! I ordered Tom Yum soup one of the worst I have had. It was hot water with a touch of chilli and bit of chicken! If one goes to Thai resturant one expects a Thai food which is hot and spicy!!!! Disappointed for the price paid

Everything we ordered was 10/10 not a fault with the whole night. The bbq crispy pork is crazy good.

Came to this restaurant as reviews were all good but very disappointed chicken wings were like kfc to start then Penang curry for my main was curdled I asked waitress is that ok she replied yes !!!not a good Thai curry penang should be creamy not curdled totally put me off won’t be returning so dissapointed

We couldn't wait to try this restaurant again after reading a fab review in La Vida Liverpool. We were not disappointed.

Went with two meat eaters and two vegetarians. Good choice of food for both. Daughter and I shared the vegetarian starters combo. Staff were really friendly and recommended which noodles would go well with dish my son chose.

Had a meal here twice since December and both times it was sensational! Attention to detail is second to none, food is delicious and the staff are absolutely wonderful! Can't wait to go back again soon!

Visited here for first time and would recommend, had a lamb curry which was particularly tasty, hubby had chicken noodle dish with chilli and garlic. Really cosy atmosphere with excellent service, will be returning.

Five of us went here over Christmas and had a fantastic meal. Best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand! Service was friendly and quick too!

Clearly a busy and popular place to eat in Hoylake. The food and service was very good and the prices were not too high. Staff were friendly and served us with a smile! Everything was perfectly cooked and fresh. I would certainly recommend this restaurant but it is advisable to book especially at the weekend.

We have visited many times, the food and the service are exceptional. It’s looking very festive for Christmas and well worth a visit. See you again soon.

Probably the least "Thai-like" Thai food we have ever eaten. Staff were very friendly though. Except the waiter kept walking away before everyone had ordered so we had to keep calling him back to finish our orders.

Food was ok but nothing special. I will go back to give it another try, but I wouldn’t order alcohol. £21 for a bottle of Pinot Grigio is far too expensive! I’d probably get food to take away next time.

Popped in for early dinner on a Sunday. Nice clean and tidy place. Cutlery and glasses were spotless. We had a chicken pad thia with duck spring roll and prawn crackers. All really tasty and value for money. Would definitely visit again.

great food, great service and great prices, we go to Khao Soi often, this time we were invited by a friend (who paid the bill ) on our recommendation. She was delighted and we enjoyed our meal as we always do. Great staff here, the signature dish Khao Soi is really authentic.

Used to go to the Pepper Sauce (located in the same unit) before it closed. Was very pleased to find another Thai restaurant had opened in its place. It has been tastefully refurbished. We went for the set menu and also added the garlic and ginger ribs as the starter and we were not disappointed. The staff were happy to substitute the green curry for a red curry when asked. The starters arrived pretty promptly and were delicious and hot, followed by a suitable wait came the soup, then the mains - what an absolute joy to taste authentically prepared Thai food so close to home! Dessert of ice cream followed. The only thing I could fault (and I am not going to deduct points for this) is that they didn't do diet/slimline tonic. We will be back! Another point to note is that they do a takeaway service. If you collect yourself they will deduct 10% - worth noting if you want a decent takeaway.

Came here with the kids. We were sat where we always sat when it was the Pepper Sauce. The water feature has been removed. We hope the owners will install some sort of water feature to improve the restaurant and the feng shui so that their business will do well. The food was typical of continental Thai and lacking the wow factor. The menu was on an A4 paper. We would come back to see whether there would be some improvement once it has been running for a while.

Called in for an early meal around 5.45pm on a Friday evening. We had not reserved a table but were found a free table quickly.

We popped in to try the new Thai in Hoylake - we loved the old one and was very sad when it closed, so when Khao Soi opened up in the same venue we were keen to give it a try.

Like many, we've missed Pepper Sauce. Went to Khao Soi tonight for a birthday celebration and was knocked out by the food (The Khao Soi curry is the best Thai dish I've had) and the friendly service. Highly recommended

This used to be The Pepper Sauce restaurant and I thought that would take some beating but this is a fabulous Thai restaurant, the food and service is amazing.

The food here is absolutely delicious - very authentic, in fact, the best Thai food I have tasted in a long time. My boyfriend and I visited for the second time on Sunday when they do an 'all you can eat' buffet. It is not served buffet style (the food is brought to you instead) and is great value for money. The food was as good as ever but we were overwhelmed by the quantity and although the restaurant provides a take-away service we were disappointed to learn that we weren't allowed to take a doggie bag home. It is such a dreadful shame that such lovely food is thrown away rather than being enjoyed at home. This wouldn't put us going off again but I find their policy on not allowing people to take home their remaining food very unpalatable (excuse the pun!)

We had a set menu and all the food was absolutely lovely! Great starters and mains. Will definitely go back! Just think It is a shame that they close at 9.00 pm as a little early.

Love good Thai food, and loved it here. New Thai Restaurant in Hoylake in the same place Pepper Sauce was. Staff were welcoming as soon as we arrived. Good choice of starters, soups and mains. We had a starter share to begin with of spring rolls, chicken satay, prawn toast and fish cakes, all lovely. Main we had pad thai and red thai curry. All meals get a choice of chicken, beef or prawn. All meals are reasonable priced here. Glad we tried here, we will definitely be back. Maybe even try buffet Sunday

I liked it - the flavours in the Thai green curry and coconut rice were delicious. Wasn't so sure about the Thai sausage though. The sauces are a little thin, but the waitress explained that is how it is done in that particular region of Thailand. Service was friendly and nothing wrong with the atmosphere.

...went with friends in April. Asked for recommendations from the waitress (family from Blackpool) to be told she didn't know the menu. Ordered sticky rice, which came in a plastic bag and had either been microwaved or boiled, had to squeeze it from the bag myself...have always been fortunate before to receive in a wrapped banana leaf - must be because there's no banana trees in Hoylake. Main courses were bland and uninspiring. A real pity as Hoylake desperately needs great restaurants, especially after losing Malluca last year. I don't think we'll go again, I could make better at home and sadly using that barometer, I probably will...

Head waitress very good at greating but then after sitting down for a good 15 minuets had to ask for drinks and menu.Starter for 2 to share was ok but I ordered stir fry chicken vegetables where raw not cooked at all.Husband ordered Thai chicken with herbs when it came it was grey couldn’t eat it.Very disappointing.

Thai food is my favourite and this is now my favourite Thai restaurant. And I'm not easy to please. Khoi Soi (also the name of their signature dish) is new and replaces (and about time) Pepper Sauce. The food is authentic, Northern Thai and 'street' food and is quite simply delicious and I have tried many of the dishes already. Lovely people, working hard to please and it must be working because it's always busy. Great atmosphere and lovely decor too, I might add.
