The best restaurants in Shevington with Lower Ground Wigan North West

The Bonfire Gathering on 4th November was another great event at Stirrup Cup organised by Lisa and her family & friends. Staring at 5pm, with the bonfire being lit at 6.30pm. Well organised with two bars and food provided by Viet Rice Box, which was absolutely delicious. A great atmosphere with a slow start mainly due to the rain. By 6pm the numbers had significantly grown, and continued growing even after the bonfire was lit. Seeing so many local residents turning out to support Stirrup Cup was lovely to see. Our community needs more events like this so people can meet and get to know each other.

Tried the cheese burger & kebab. Both items were outstanding and the service was brilliant. Highly recommend this takeaway. I suggest the donner starter - a chefs special !!!!

Fab. Love the vegan food (although I didn't get hash browns with my breakfast yesterday - not sure I have eaten them anyway!). Already booked in for the amazingly priced Xmas lunch. Please don't go or I'll never get a table! 😳😅

Very nice restaurant with a good selection of food

The fish was very dry and the cost very expensive.

Very disappointed in Sunday lunch today ,the food came cold, no flavour in anything, no vegetarian choice in with the Sunday roast and it was served on cold bowls not plates.

Limited food due to small kitchen, pizzas, nachos, etc.

Sweet poison. The food tasted great but me and my partner both got severe food poisoning from it. 3 days latter and we are still ill. (two different dishes)

Now called Dragon City. Tried this takeaway for the first time while working locally, speedy service, still piping hot when I got back, good special curry & salt n pepper ribs 👍👍

After 25yrs of no complaints watsoever, the quality of food has gone downhill lately. Cantonese beef is nothing like it used to be, wrong colour, yellow instead of brown and with an overpowering curry flavour. Not even a hint of a Cantonese dish. Unfortunately, we have had issues with the standard of food consistently of late We will be rather reluctant to use New Wing Lee in future.

Unpleasant experience and cold. Activities going on in main cafe with children, very noisy. Went into other place, no where comfy to sit. I’m disabled and like to get out of my chair to sit and eat and the place was freezing and uncomfortable. Tables dirty and not wiped down. It’s difficult enough having to get down the path to the place without feeling like they don’t want you there. It’s not disability friendly. Then came the bill…two coffees, main meals and bread… £32 …. It wasn’t worth the money at all. We won’t be back. We asked about heating but said it’s broke….but the place to eat was very cold.
