Unpleasant experience and cold. Activities going on in main cafe with children, very noisy. Went into other place, no where comfy to sit. I’m disabled and like to get out of my chair to sit and eat and the place was freezing and uncomfortable. Tables dirty and not wiped down. It’s difficult enough having to get down the path to the place without feeling like they don’t want you there. It’s not disability friendly. Then came the bill…two coffees, main meals and bread… £32 …. It wasn’t worth the money at all. We won’t be back. We asked about heating but said it’s broke….but the place to eat was very cold.

What an absoluteand utter shambles. I certainly won't be coming back. Ordered lunch for 3 only to be told while waiting for it to arrive that one of the meals ordered has all gone (even though we are talking 12.00 noon). They wouldn't make a breakfast to compensate for their error and I didn't want any of the other pies offered so I am now sat here watching the other two I'm with eating their lunch and have had mine refunded. Absolute disgrace Golden Days - if I could give you 0 stars I would !!!

Friendly staff and reasonably quick service. However cutlery not very clean, also tables need wiping too. Floor area under tables needs to be kept clean, lots of crumbs etc. We had hot chocolate which was very good and soup which was excellent. One slice of bread with the soup!!! 2 slices would have been much better as the bowl of soup was a generous size.

This cafe would be great as it has crafts and painting on sometimes. Nice attraction. Coffee is good but the let down is overcharging for cakes. £5.50 is well above average for a slice of cake or cheesecake! Other cafes in the area don't charge this and you are out pricing people. Such a shame.

Whenever we visit Wild Mint Cafe we are always delighted. The food is prepared and served beautifully and efficiently, not to mention it’s delicious and fresh. We LOVE the baguette of the day - it never disappoints. The cake selection is to die for and the coffee hits the spot. The staff are friendly and accommodating- nothing is ever too much trouble and they do all they can to assist with any requests we might have. From allergies to accessibility we are always welcomed and dealt with professionally. A massive shout out to Keri who has assisted us on a number of occasions with booking requests and special meals. It’s such a comfort when a member of our family has dementia. Your care and kindness is appreciated and we can’t thank you enough. Super setting, lovely atmosphere, delicious eats and first class service. I totally recommend it!

It starts with a long wait in a self service queue that would work better if they managed to separate it into 2 queues one for people who want a hot meal and one for those who just want coffee and cakes for whom the queue is just far too long. The cake selection itself is very poor. They also need to put some effort into cleaning the tables of detritus instead of leaving it piled up for lengthy periods. This all reflects poor management and organisation of resources.

Looking forward to a pleasant lunch catching up with an old friend, I was disappointed to say the least with the burnt offering presented to me. Top slice of the toastie was clearly overdone but you don't want to ruin a rare lunch together by complaining, sending food back and then eating separately do you? It was only as I reluctantly tucked in that I realised the bottom slice, well hidden, was inedible. This should never have been served in the first place as blatantly obvious not fit for purpose. Price £5.30. I made my displeasure known to waiter when he was clearing away the offending slice but no apology, no offer of refund. Shan't be going again.

Came here with my mum and dad on recommendation from someone. We did, expected a 'dobbies' type thing but we're REALLY disappointed! Myself being vegan looked at menu = NOTHING for me, now normally I pick soup in this 'situation' but soup was tomato which I'm not a fan of = me NOT EATING! - not all vegans/veggies LIKE cheese!!THANKFULLY they HAD/HAVE 'fruit tea' so at least I was able to warm up that way!Staff we're slow and had a ''don't care/when's closing" sort of manner about them. Which didn't improve matters. Only 'plus' I/we liked is that it houses Mountain Warehouse, Paver and The Works = SOMETHING to do/reasons to stay!

All round a good little Cafe in the Garden Centre. Just a few things to mention; 1. When we ordered a couple of toasties and a bowl of chips, we got the toasties first but had to wait for a little for the chips (we ate half of our sandwiches before they came) 2. Gemma's pulled pork/cheese toastie, the cheese was still cold and not very melted and finally 3. The poster has "Bring back your receipt to get the same coffee for 99p" - Gemma got me a cake and this, but, then when she came back to the table I noticed they charged full price (£2.10). I did go and sort this out, get the change back, but, when I did one of the girls joked on with the other lady and said "Are you charging people again instead of refills" so it is obviously a recurring problem.

The hot food wasn't labelled, why not identify what each dish is! anyway, as we were sick of sandwiches this summer, we opted for some stew type dish, lamb they said but it tasted like beef to us, chips, peas and carrots. This meal for two and two cold drinks, was 0ver £20!! Good grief and the portion size was like a child's school dinner and about the same quality! It didn't taste awful or anything, just utterly basic, basic frozen chips, tiny amount of peas and carrots and this casseroled something or other that was mainly swede!

I visited there last weekend with my partner and 6 year old grandson. He wanted a tuna sandwich from the children's menu. It was very disappointing. A sandwich made up of just one small slice of bread with a minute amount of tuna. A drink and bag of crisps was included but to me, a sandwich is two slices of bread. It's not a lot to ask really, bread is far from expensive. At £4.95, I think it is poor value for money.

I went in to the garden centre were Masserella's is located on Sunday the 03 April 16 and whilst there, decided to get lunch in the café. After queuing for 25 minutes I finally placed my order for 2 homemade pies, chips and veg. This was served whilst I waited at the checkout, the first thing that I noticed was that there was a measly amount of peas and carrots on the plate, I was told that this was all that they had left, but no offer of any reduction was made. When we sat down I can only describe the rest of the experience as shocking. The so called pie was a consistency that you would prepare for a baby, slop, the chips were terrible, just warm and mushy soft, like they had been stood for ages and the bit of veg that we got had had the life cooked out of it. All in all, quite possibly the worst meal I have had since stopping at a greasy spoon on the A1 40 years ago. Before writing this review, I did give the management at the establishment the opportunity to respond to my comments, however they are as bad as the food and service, to date I have had no response from them.

By and by garden centre cafe's and restaurants are usually very expensive places to eat but Massarella's is different. The prices were quite OK and the food tasty in pleasant surroundings. On different weekdays there are extra special menu's (Pasta days: 2 meals for £10) and Wednesday is a pie day and Friday's Fish and Chips, Bread and Butter and Tea / Coffee for £7.99. So all in all it was a pleasurable experience and being attached to the Golden Days Garden Centre and several other shopping outlets make it a very worthwhile trip. Tip ...... get to Massarella's just before the lunch time rush which will save you some time

Booked a table for the breakfast sharing board for two people for this morning. Have to say it was amazing and fantastic value, however today the service let us down. We weren't asked if we wanted drinks, so I asked and was told tea/coffee wasn't included, which was fair enough, so we ordered 2 coffees, the food came and after checking online I saw it included orange juice, so had to ask for that. Great choice of food and such a lovely pub. Have been many times for afternoon tea and always received a nice welcome. I have knocked a star off today for service. We finished our food but the staff serving were sat eating breakfast, so we waited a while and no one came, so had to disturb the staff to ask them if they could box the food we hadn't managed to eat up, not a problem. Staff are lovely, however we shouldn't have to feel we are disturbing them when we need to leave.
