First time going Car park has got the ladies and gents in portacabins on it work going on inside but that happens so not worried Food ordered Lasagne sent back burned to a crisp Fish and chips no size no taste peas cold Gammon and eggs gammon good but eggs dry and full of oil from frying Yuk perhaps just not my taste mushroom and tomato burned So we got refund on the lasagne as we sent it back staff apologetic but we won't go back

We came as a group of 5 around 6.40pm and managed to order food just in time. We had a mix of items including Gammon, steak and ale pie and chicken burgers. Everyone loved the food, it was really delicious. Really good prices too for the portion sizes and it didn't taste like your usual frozen stuff that a lot of pubs do these days. Really good stuff. We didn't realise it was quiz night so stayed for the quiz and had a good laugh doing that. Its really nicely decorated inside and they are currently undergoing refurb of some other parts but it didn't impact our visit at all. The staff were very helpful and polite. Will definitely be back!

Only have 1 star as no option to give zero. Was told as soon as we entered that children weren’t welcome after 7pm. Fine, it’s 6.10pm so we had plenty of time. The children went on the pool table, they were ushered straight off and told they weren’t welcome. Very frustrated for them to accept our money and treat the children so poorly. Not a nice atmosphere seemed very intense. For a business that’s recently reopened and revamped it’s extremely disappointing. Will stick to Mesnes road. Don’t waste your time coming here

Went in to watch Challenge Cup final. Best place we could have chosen bar none. Place was packed, just like it used to be years ago. Half a dozen screens showing the match and good sound system. Good service at the bar, enough staff. Beer not as expensive as some bars nearby (which I won’t mention). Really nice inside following revamp. Recommended. One thing, I think they need to paint the outside of the pub to go with the great interior.

Parked at the Cherry Gardens car park and was meeting family inside for drinks & music. Got a parking fine in the post. Why offer parking?

This place was recommended to me off a friend, it is now dog friendly which is perfect after a nice walk through haigh hall . Beautifully decorated, helpful friendly staff . Excellent food . Definitely got new regulars .

The new owners have brought this stunning pub back to life it's nicely refurbished and the food is amazing we had Sunday dinner today it was delicious

I went to watch a band there. First time since refurbishment and I must say it is not artist friendly at all. Why put a snooker table in the area the artist play in? Plus why place a full studded wall in the centre instead of leaving it as it was so others patrons who are now forced to sit in the bar area and can not see the artist nor hear them properly.

Visited on Saturday to meet up with mates watching the Rugby final. I was at the bar for over 20 mins and gave up trying to get served. Two staff serving and one glass collecting. I accept it was busy but staff were just serving out of order, people coming to the bar and getting served within minutes (maybe regulars). Friends also went home at half time as couldn’t get served. I’ve been to the pub on much busier occasions in the past and it was never this bad. Hope the bar does well with new owners as great location and seems a nice bar. Plenty of TV’s, live sports, good sized car park and good pool table. Would just avoid on major events if you want a drink as they don’t have enough staff on to accommodate.

Called in here last Sunday for something to eat (Oct) when I asked what time are you serving food he said some time in November. 😀😀

Lovely pub the new owners have done a lot of work to it and are planning to do more. Staff are brilliant. Decent pint and you can get a pie too

Been nicely cleaned up recently after being taken over by new management. Food starting in November & a big refurbishment planned for January. Good priced beer, free pool on Tuesdays & sport on all the tvs!

Recently reopened. Much improved after Dee clean. Beer wine and atmosphere great. Food coming in November. Can't wait.

Called in after a long walk, apart from the man who served us there was only one other person with a dog sat at the bar. Magners dark fruits cider was good, the pub itself is definitely a Doer Upper 😊

This pub is located in a great area. Plenty of other pubs within walking distance full of people. Why is this pub empty on a lovely summers day. 8 pound for two shandy’s might be the reason. This pub needs a lot of money throwing at it. From the outside it looks scruffy and from peeping in, not very inviting.

Warm welcome, good pint of Landlord, lots of locals in, I'll go back again.

Needs a lot of improvements. Shame that it has been neglected for so long. Hopefully the new landlords will get the funding to refurb it soon and make it a place people will flock back to. This used to be the best on the lane many moons ago. It defo has potential. Let's hope its not too little too late and it becomes a landmark once again instead of an eyesore.

Really run down but I understand it is being refurbished. However that is no excuse for the undrinkable real ale!

Large barnlike pub. Looks OK but when i visited the beer was off.

Reasonable food at reasonable prices. The quality does depend which day you go. Think they have different staff in. Friday's seems to be the better day.

Too soon to tell but better than some in the area

Pub is decent enough,nice feel to it on Christmas eve and whilst we didnt use it, the area for the pool table looked decent. They struggled behind the bar, just the one person on for large stints on Christmas eve which is typically a busy night. Always difficult to rate a smallish pub on bar service as people may have let them down, and i don't go in often enough to tell if that is the norm. Will deffinitely be back again. We took young kids in too and there was no issues.

Like many boozers went down hill years ago and has never really recovered. Always a decent pint at a decent price with friendly staff but always empty whenever I go in. Hopefully it isn't people choosing to avoid me.

Stoped off for a drink while walking our dog on a nice day and sat outside, I had a bitter shandy and hubby had a pint of larger. I went inside to ask about food, the pub had the most awful smell and looked old and dirty very much in need of a refurb. It used to be busy all the time. No wonder it's not now

Completely ignorant bar staff. First visit and will not be going back. Completely ignored when trying to get served. Gave up and walked out.

I hadn't been here for a while. Glad I did, comfatable place to go for a drink. Clean and tidy, felt spacious and the sport on TV (not loud) which was good. Parking available.

POOR service from barmaids who preferred to serve men. Complained to bar staff and made the decision to spend my money elsewhere. Would not recommend for women trying to have a good night out.

Visited the pub during a walk through Haigh hall, we always walk to the bottom to the plantation gates and back again. We nipped in for a shandy with the two year old in the buggy before we set back up to the Haigh hall. The Bar lady is really helpful and friendly she even give my son an ice lolly because she was getting one for her daughter. The menu looks amazing loads of choice and reasonably priced. It has the classic pub look with wood features, old brass lights, pool table etc. Lots of space for larger groups for dinning or just drinks, the management have given the place a fresh new menu and loads of atmosphere, felt really relaxed here. Toilets are very clean and spacious, it has a car park and outdoor seating with water available for dogs. Great little visit if your after nice quiet relaxing lunch however food is available all day. Thanks Cherry Gardens we will be back soon!

go to this pub a lot with friends and family and can always say its a grate place for a drink or some food or just to chill and watch the sport would recommend this place to anyone as the staff are so friendly and the manager is a top bloke and knows how to run a pub and always serves a top beer.

Nipped into he cherry gardens for a quick bite before I visited my sister in hospital .The bar was busy but no one sitting down, I had to ask if they were serving food because none of the table looked set up for food and I struggled to find a menu. The young man serving food was the only saving grace because the overall look of the venue and the food was poor to say the least.My daughters and I had steak pie ,chips and gravy ..The pie had been nuked that much my knife couldn't slice through most of it and the gravy was like brown water even the chips tasted strange.My husband had a burger and the bun was solid we left hungry and disappointed but didn't have time to complain due to the intial wait.I wouldn't visiting again.

we visited the pub on a summers day and sat outside, although seats outside are on the main road. we waited a long time at the bar to be served although the pub was not busy.

Great beer and company staff always helpful

This pub is a lovely friendly welcoming place to be, the best times to come are between 12 and 8pm Monday -weds as Joanne is very friendly and accommodating to her customers.... Can't fault the cherry gardens 🍺 🍔

I called in the Cherry Gardens today with some customers, for a quick bite to eat and can confirm it'll be my last ever visit for sure! The place was dull, smelly and dismal, workmen were replacing parts of the floor and staff were not overly attentive. To top it all off my customer had bugs in her salad, which was simply laughed off by the waitress.

We Went visiting family for a few drinks on a Friday, not been in the pub for years and it's a bonny pub and has so much potential but it's one of the worst establishments I've visited in a long time. We got there about 6.30pm and it was already busy as the rugby was on. The layout is really strange TVs are in the worst places possible I decided to try the food as had not eaten I ordered a mix grill and within 5 mins it was out and served. Cost around £8 and more than 3/4s was left . Waitress didn't even ask was everything ok just took the plate, horrid it was. Beer choice rubbish. Food on par / worst than weather spoons. Just not good. Not sure if it's a chain pub and don't like leaving bad reviews on independent establishments but I genuinely felt ripped off

62 years ago I lived in the house that is now the church. Even in those days my husband and Father met each night for a drink and the pub was heaving. Glad it is the same, who knows my family might buy a house nearby and I will visit you.

Really nice pub nice service but the good was poor at best. They gave us home made battered onion rings with an other cooked fish. If you can batter onion ring you can batter your fish. Left without finishing our food. It's a shame.

When I first arrived at the Cherry Gardens, I felt a warm vibe as I walked through the doors. The ambience in the pub is fantastic, and has obviously been under new management over the last couple of years as the interior has been modernised but still continues to portray the pub as it's former glory. The food in the pub was delicious, and it felt as if I was in a 5 star restaurant but with a homely vibe. The staff were pleasant, and I would definitely recommend people to visit the pub! As you can probably imagine, I will definitely be visiting again soon :)

I have visited the Cherry Gardens for a meal on a number of occasions and enjoyed the experience, however , on our recent visit the service we received was not upto ual standard . After placing a food order we awaited for a cup of tea and coffee to be served to us, as on previous occasions , watching the Wimbledon final my partner realised the drinks had been placed on the end of the bar , I picked them up but had to take them back because they were cold , when I asked for them to be replaced the young lady said it was our fault because she had told us they were there ( no she didn`t ) not the service I expect from from this usually pleasant hostelry

if u want something cheap and cheerful this is the place to go. the only thing that put me off and its not a complaint it is my personal choice is I don't like big screen television but plenty of people do. I feel u cant have a proper chat when football/rugby is on so I would avoid them nights in future
