Had lunch today for first time. Can't wait to go back. Had one of the sharing dishes with a friend. Great price & the food was lovely, best I've had for a long time. We'll worth the money, and nice atmosphere 10/10

Always 5star food! Live music on Sunday, sports on the screen and lady mable bar out at the back.. perfect every visit!

Was looking forward to the 80s dance night last night but it was disappointing Mill at the pier was much better 8 is dance night

Walk the dog thru haigh plantations to the cherries, have full English, refil coffees, walk back what's not to like.

This was the first time i have visited in a long long time. Went based on a few friends who have visited recently since its refurb. The interior is ok but the freshly cooked breakfast certainly hit the spot. Nicely cooked , large portion size with everything in you would expect from a full English including toast. If you have a coffee you also have free refills which is great. The price of just over £7 is great and staff very pleasant. I very nice way to start a Sunday morning

A great turn around for this place. All freshly renovated and feels very welcoming. Service was good and reasonably priced also the food menu looked good which will mean a return visit I'm sure

Been nicely cleaned up recently after being taken over by new management. Food starting in November & a big refurbishment planned for January. Good priced beer, free pool on Tuesdays & sport on all the tvs!

A Nicely done out pub with a good selection of beers and spirits and friendly, attentive staff. It's more of a sports bar with numerous TV's dotted around although the sound isn't too loud so the atmosphere is pretty good. It's well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Numerous people vaping in the pub and clearly seen and ignored by the pub staff. I mentioned it to one of staff as we were leaving and she just shrugged her shoulders

Love what they've done with the place. The only issue is - please sort the WiFi out.

First time going Car park has got the ladies and gents in portacabins on it work going on inside but that happens so not worried Food ordered Lasagne sent back burned to a crisp Fish and chips no size no taste peas cold Gammon and eggs gammon good but eggs dry and full of oil from frying Yuk perhaps just not my taste mushroom and tomato burned So we got refund on the lasagne as we sent it back staff apologetic but we won't go back

We came as a group of 5 around 6.40pm and managed to order food just in time. We had a mix of items including Gammon, steak and ale pie and chicken burgers. Everyone loved the food, it was really delicious. Really good prices too for the portion sizes and it didn't taste like your usual frozen stuff that a lot of pubs do these days. Really good stuff. We didn't realise it was quiz night so stayed for the quiz and had a good laugh doing that. Its really nicely decorated inside and they are currently undergoing refurb of some other parts but it didn't impact our visit at all. The staff were very helpful and polite. Will definitely be back!

Only have 1 star as no option to give zero. Was told as soon as we entered that children weren’t welcome after 7pm. Fine, it’s 6.10pm so we had plenty of time. The children went on the pool table, they were ushered straight off and told they weren’t welcome. Very frustrated for them to accept our money and treat the children so poorly. Not a nice atmosphere seemed very intense. For a business that’s recently reopened and revamped it’s extremely disappointing. Will stick to Mesnes road. Don’t waste your time coming here

Went in to watch Challenge Cup final. Best place we could have chosen bar none. Place was packed, just like it used to be years ago. Half a dozen screens showing the match and good sound system. Good service at the bar, enough staff. Beer not as expensive as some bars nearby (which I won’t mention). Really nice inside following revamp. Recommended. One thing, I think they need to paint the outside of the pub to go with the great interior.

Parked at the Cherry Gardens car park and was meeting family inside for drinks & music. Got a parking fine in the post. Why offer parking?

This place was recommended to me off a friend, it is now dog friendly which is perfect after a nice walk through haigh hall . Beautifully decorated, helpful friendly staff . Excellent food . Definitely got new regulars .

A great night out good atmosphere and a great singer on top class

I went to watch a band there. First time since refurbishment and I must say it is not artist friendly at all. Why put a snooker table in the area the artist play in? Plus why place a full studded wall in the centre instead of leaving it as it was so others patrons who are now forced to sit in the bar area and can not see the artist nor hear them properly.

The new owners have brought this stunning pub back to life it's nicely refurbished and the food is amazing we had Sunday dinner today it was delicious

Finally doing good entertainment on Saturdays

Visited on Saturday to meet up with mates watching the Rugby final. I was at the bar for over 20 mins and gave up trying to get served. Two staff serving and one glass collecting. I accept it was busy but staff were just serving out of order, people coming to the bar and getting served within minutes (maybe regulars). Friends also went home at half time as couldn’t get served. I’ve been to the pub on much busier occasions in the past and it was never this bad. Hope the bar does well with new owners as great location and seems a nice bar. Plenty of TV’s, live sports, good sized car park and good pool table. Would just avoid on major events if you want a drink as they don’t have enough staff on to accommodate.

Called in here last Sunday for something to eat (Oct) when I asked what time are you serving food he said some time in November. 😀😀

Recently reopened. Much improved after Dee clean. Beer wine and atmosphere great. Food coming in November. Can't wait.

Called in after a long walk, apart from the man who served us there was only one other person with a dog sat at the bar. Magners dark fruits cider was good, the pub itself is definitely a Doer Upper 😊

This pub is located in a great area. Plenty of other pubs within walking distance full of people. Why is this pub empty on a lovely summers day. 8 pound for two shandy’s might be the reason. This pub needs a lot of money throwing at it. From the outside it looks scruffy and from peeping in, not very inviting.

Warm welcome, good pint of Landlord, lots of locals in, I'll go back again.

Needs a lot of improvements. Shame that it has been neglected for so long. Hopefully the new landlords will get the funding to refurb it soon and make it a place people will flock back to. This used to be the best on the lane many moons ago. It defo has potential. Let's hope its not too little too late and it becomes a landmark once again instead of an eyesore.

Really run down but I understand it is being refurbished. However that is no excuse for the undrinkable real ale!

Large barnlike pub. Looks OK but when i visited the beer was off.

Reasonable food at reasonable prices. The quality does depend which day you go. Think they have different staff in. Friday's seems to be the better day.

Too soon to tell but better than some in the area

Pub is decent enough,nice feel to it on Christmas eve and whilst we didnt use it, the area for the pool table looked decent. They struggled behind the bar, just the one person on for large stints on Christmas eve which is typically a busy night. Always difficult to rate a smallish pub on bar service as people may have let them down, and i don't go in often enough to tell if that is the norm. Will deffinitely be back again. We took young kids in too and there was no issues.

Like many boozers went down hill years ago and has never really recovered. Always a decent pint at a decent price with friendly staff but always empty whenever I go in. Hopefully it isn't people choosing to avoid me.

Great place to sit out in the sun on the front after a dog walk. Staff only to happy to put water out for the dogs to.

Stoped off for a drink while walking our dog on a nice day and sat outside, I had a bitter shandy and hubby had a pint of larger. I went inside to ask about food, the pub had the most awful smell and looked old and dirty very much in need of a refurb. It used to be busy all the time. No wonder it's not now

Completely ignorant bar staff. First visit and will not be going back. Completely ignored when trying to get served. Gave up and walked out.

I hadn't been here for a while. Glad I did, comfatable place to go for a drink. Clean and tidy, felt spacious and the sport on TV (not loud) which was good. Parking available.

POOR service from barmaids who preferred to serve men. Complained to bar staff and made the decision to spend my money elsewhere. Would not recommend for women trying to have a good night out.
