Been going here for 12?years plus had Sunday roast veg was very hard I ordered a eton mess there was no fruit and minimun meringue just ice cream minimum cream and raspberry sauce very disappointing

Lovely looking pub. Bland food.

My husband and I called into day at 3pm . When we arrived it was quite not many customers in . We ordered the lunch special 3 courses for £12.29. We didn't have alcohol as we were driving . The first course was the bbq chichen wings we got 5 pieces each they were OK The second course arrived I ordered the mac&cheese my husband ordered the haddock fish cakes. The fish cakes came with chips ,peas and tarter sauce . He was disappointed with them as there was no taste to these the chips were supposed to be seasoned and they weren't. There was just no taste to them at all unless you put loads of tarter sauce on them . As for the Mac and cheese the same again the only thing I could taste was the onion bits they put on top of it . It also came with garlic bread . The sticky toffee pudding was just OK bbut the custard was from a packet which left a powder taste in your mouth. The pub it's self was clean the bar area was also clean and tidy . The toilets were also clean. I did notice a few chips around the table next to us on the floor it wasn't busy so there was no excuse for this . . The staff were friendly and polite. I rated it 3 stars as the food did let it down we paid £25 00 for the 2 of us . Some would say that wasn't bad if only we had enjoyed the food . We won't be returning.

Lovely place to have a beer in the garden with pals on a warm day. Haven’t eaten here in years so unfortunately can’t rate the food.

Stunning setting outside area clean well kept and so many tables it was busy but food and service was excellent we will recommend to everyone locals like should be supported we will be visiting again thank you for a lovley afternoon

Sunny day just want to sit in the sun with friends and have a few drinks. Unfortunately you can't do that at the Bulls Head anymore due to the beer garden now being in the shade and the old beer garden being used as a kids football pitch! Had to go to Astley Point instead ...

The Bull is a great local pub and one I'm certain we'll be returning to regularly. However.. the place really really needs to step up on the outside facilities now we've got some decent weather. Please clean up the litter or put out proper bins x 4 so there's no excuses for it in the first place. And please clean up the tables from bird droppings, really poor the places opens and nobody has been out to check. Lastly.. for God's sake get rid of the tatty tables, really let's the pub down. I'm 100% behind supporting my local but you need to fix these issues.

Staff need more training, complained about my third pint of Carling as it was flat. The young lad that served me took it back to the Carling pump I thought he was going to replace it with another fresh pint. He hit it with another glass on top of mine two or three times & give it me back. When I said you don't do that he totally ignored me & walked away. Been going in this pub for many years never seen anything like it. Absolutely disgusted.

We had dinner in this lovely pub. The food was great. The staff were so polite and helpful. We were served at the bar by a a very polite young man called Tyler, and our food was served by a very helpful young lady Charlie. Very highly recommended place to eat and drink.

1st time here and will be coming back. Although the weekday menu isnt vast, it is decent enough and great value for a starter and main. Also the staff were very polite and helpful. Nice work 👍

We only called in for a quick drink and a bowl of soup to warm us up. Sadly the young boy behind the bar doesn't understand the word quick. We were kept waiting for over twenty minutes for 2 bowls of soup. Sadly when it finally arrived it was luke warm and to be honest very watery. My partner commented the soup from Aldi is better! The pub is lovely inside, but the staff we seen need a rocket up their backside.

Great value food and good quality on the meal deal. Sadly my main was cold. Long delay between starter and main. More a fault with the kitchen than overall experience. Starter and pudding were piping hot. Friendly staff.

Gone down hill since our last visit last year. Decor and atmosphere nice, relaxed and fairly quiet. However, food has room for improvement. I ordered the fish and chips and received a small portion of barely warm, obviously frozen chips, a spoon of very watery, cold peas and a luke warm fish. The comment from the hubby regarding his gammon was " its ok". Don't think we will be returning.

The Bulls Head has a lovely atmosphere & is reasonably priced. The food is really good & the waiter who served our table was very friendly & efficient.

Lovely afternoon - very busy and the staff were working hard to clear tables and tidy as they had visited by a local steam museum. Max, as always, was welcoming, entertaining and hardworking.

I needed somewhere that would accept my dog. This outlet was very willing to do so. Doggie treats and water bowls were available if required. The staff were very accommodating and the drink was excellent.

Staff are amazing. Food was really good and didn't have to wait too long even with it being busy. Bar was busy but also wasn't a long wait for drinks. Really good service, would highly recommend

Food was great served hot and very tasty. Also we take the dog and this is very important to us, having the dog friendly area with delicious food and excellent service is what made our visit so enjoyable.

It use to serve a good pint but the lager goes flat very quickly now.

Came here today food was amazing, I got double bacon and cheese burger and my partner got chicken curry, service was amazing, Alicia was amazing and tended to our needs and max was lovely. 10/10 definitely will be back

What a beautiful pub! I’ve been in before but the new look is something else! A great atmosphere with great food (I had the ultimate burger which was amazing!). We had a chat to the manager too, who was great. A great pub!

Missing items no duphenuois potatoes no chocolate brownie

We were really looking forward to visiting after the recent re-fit. Shouldn’t have bothered. Sunday roast was poor, meat was tough, (could’ve done with a saw for the chicken). Vegetables had obviously been kept warm for a long period of time. Roast potatoes were grey. Ordered desserts only to be told that a couple of the options weren’t available.

Food was shockingly bad. Peppercorn sause still with frozen lumps in. Need I say more!!

Not a flexible menu for my son that wanted 'crispy chicken'. He has autism and unfortunately quite specific. They weren't able to put breadcrumbs on the chicken or offer an alternative in the child's menu unless I paid for an option in the adult's section as barman said everything is pre packaged and portion controlled. Before refurbishment, this was always allowed.

Went in on the 12th for lunch. Really nice decor, atmosphere was very chilled and food was lovely. Will be back to try the set menus as they look a bargain!

Went for tea 3 adults and a toddler , mixed grills were really nice toddler loved his mac and cheese and chocolate brownie , excellent service from Tracy

Speed of bar service is very slow when there are more than a couple of people waiting. Food service was good though.

We went to visit the bull check out the new look and grab a steak (Thursday steak night),and wow what a difference. The place looks amazing at 6ish the lights go low and candles get lit perfect touch .our steaks were cooked perfectly and we didnt wait long at the bar or for food even though they were very busy . we noticed new team they were doing a great job and very friendly we cant wait to come again well done it really does look beautiful.

Popped into the New Look Bull's Head & WOW so impressive.Was Greeted by the Manager & her amazing Team & shown to a nice cozy Table by the warm open fire & indulged in the Mixed Grill cooked to perfection washed down by a few pints of Peroni. We will be back.Very impressed.

Came here for a bite to eat with family seeing the pub has reopened. I had steak, others ordered sausage and mash and chicken breast. The food was great, steak cooked as I had asked for and there was a good range of ales and soft drinks.

Went on the opening day and they have transformed the place. The same great service and well cooked food, despite it being so busy. We took my 88 year old mum and all the team interacted with her and made feel special.

My wife and I used to go in the Bulls Head but stopped going because there always appeared to be out of one beer or another and the food was very average. It recently closed for a refurb and re-opened last Friday. We called in last night, Thursday 14th March, to see the new look. On entering there was a queue almost to the door, reminiscent of a small shop or cafeteria, then, once at the bar; Surprise, surprise, two of the three cask ales weren't available and there was only ONE bottle of Pinot Grigio available. A bar staff member did tell me that 'they would have Pinot in tomorrow'!! This after less than a week from the big re-opening!! Also they ran out of clean wine glasses, so wine was being served in brandy glasses. However whilst there as a queue to the bar one member of staff was busying himself taking menus to tables, while another staff member was delivering lighted candles to the tables but didn't bother clearing away empty plates, glasses and cutlery from some of those tables. Whoever manages and trains the staff in the Bull need the utmost in training themselves and whoever is in charge of stocking the place needs is hopeless. The place is an utter shambles!!!!!

Popped in after a busy day at work for a quick drink . Ordered on the app drinks came quickly. Ordered some nachos that are Gluten Free which then tempted us to buy another drink . Lovely atmosphere love the new look definitely will be back .

Visited Monday lunch time food was absolutely fantastic and the staff was amazing our first visit here and definitely will not be the last I had the ultimate burger was delicious I honestly could not move after eating it I was so stuffed was nice sat next to the fire so relaxing thank you for making our visit so nice see you soon

I had a really nice time here last night (11/3/2024). I used to come here quite a lot when I lived in Astley but I had not been for a long time. I was in Astley last night so I thought I’d pop in for old times sake. I was so glad I did! The Bull’s Head has just has just been refurbished and looks great. It looked nice before really but they have really made an effort with the place. New furniture, decor etc. it looks really chic and cosy with candlelight in the evenings. I had a really friendly waitress and opted for lamb koftas for a starter and fish and chips for the main course. Both really good and inexpensive. I also tried the landlord ale which was nice. The Bull’s Head is easy to get to and has a large car park and there’s a bus stop nearby. It does get busy at tea time though so be mindful of that. There are lunchtime meals and children’s meals too. I definitely recommend the Bull’s Head for a nice meal out. Thanks for reading.

Nice new refurb & great new staff is a breath of fresh air. Our only gripe is… turn the fires on! Barton arms is cosy & warm. Bulls Head is freezing!!

Really nice refurbishment and a good atmosphere. However, as before, disappointing to see that, as on previous visits, no fires were lit or working. Overall though, good to see the Bull back to its former self and now one of the better pubs in the area again.

Terrible service order keep getting put back 40 mins after last expected time sorry not good enough

Just had a refurb and looks amazing. the staff are amazing, best pub in Astley by a mile. The selection of drinks is second to none. food amazing and quick service.

Fabulous food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this pub for a meal. Great service too and well priced menu. I had the sea bass followed by apple and blackberry crumble, both delicious. I will return.

Food was under cooked and lukewarm when we complained the waiter said" well it was hot when it was prepared " absolutely dreadful food and incredibly rude service. Would never ever go again and at a total cost £76 . Ridiculously poor

Another amazing visit to the bull .we had a 40 percent off and whats better than that on a freezing cold January when your skint .the fire was lit and the heating was on we had a warm welcome as usual. The mixed grill was cooked perfectly and the recommended curry was delicious. We seen the signs about your up and coming refurbishment and we cant wait to see your new look

Took advantage of a 40% discount coupon, but wished we had gone somewhere else or cooked at home. It took 50 minutes to bring to our table a cold burger and also cold posh fish and chips. Beef ribs were warm with a horrible quarter plate of green cabbage, a chicken burger was nice, another meal was ok. On this occasion there is much room for improvement

After the fiasco of missing items last time we ordered, we decided to give it one last chance- everyone can have a bad day, eh? Well- never again. Two out of three portions of chips missing, so husband had to go collect them as otherwise we wouldn’t have enough food. All orders had the wrong veg, no sauces included with the fish dishes. Husband’s food ended up stone cold (though non of them were exactly piping hot when they arrived). Manager was lovely (and mortified!), but never again.

They seem to have a problem keeping the place warm which could explain why my food was not hot.

The steak was overcooked, and missing the sauce I paid extra for. The scampi missing the sauce. The onion rings were undercooked and there were 4 in the bag. Usually get 6-8. All the food is cold despite being 5 minutes away. Staff completely unbothered when we phoned.

Ordered two mixed grills with upgraded steaks, food came perfectly cooked and very quick! Tasted amazing, would definitely recommend!

Food service a little slow but the establishment was very busy. More staff would help but those who were there worked very hard.

Lovely food the only thing I didn’t like was the room we was sat in had 6 dogs in on different tables ? Didn’t know it was the dog room never looked when booking so would def look next time, don’t mind dogs but not in same room when eating and one dog was being fed by its owner with its paws up on the table , sorry not for me, and quite a few staff stroking n petting them again not hygienic when serving out food hope they washed their hands frequently!

We attended the first drag brunch and it was great the staff are wondeful the entertainment was amazing, i wolud definitely recommend for anyone looking for something fun and different

Ordered the mix grill and paid £4 extra for the 8oz steak, when my meal arrived it came with a 4oz steak and very few chips I told the waitress that I ordered a 8oz steak, she said she would go and check my order when she returned she said the chef had read the order wrong and he was going to cook me another 4oz steak and bring me. More chips, the stake and chips arrived which were far hotter than the first lot, I ate what I could as the chicken was very dry and the rest of the food was cool I asked the waitress who cleared the plates who was in charge and said I wasn't happy nobody came over which I was not impressed with. Went for a lunchtime drink and food. Service was good enough The food unfortunately was cold. It just seems like an average pub when it could be so much better.

Just been in the bulls head mid-afternoon on a Wednesday, this is the second time had to wait a long time after ordering for food even though not many people having food. This time it was way too long so had to go & cancel the order, only 4 other people dining. Very disappointing

Not the best. Ordered rib of beef but it was dreadful. It had to be sent back. Ordered the fish as a replacement and it was much better. Not impressed by Ember Inns. It's either the food stock or the staff. I'd move with the food stock as I've been all over and seem to find myself unhappy with the food. This should be looked at since the change of menu. It's awful!

I can't describe how awful this food actually was. The Turkey was so dry i could barely get a fork through it. I gave it to the cat. Do not buy this disgusting food. You'll be very disappointed!

Food was poor service was poor lady who served up acted like it was all a bit much when we told her the desert she brought was wrong after waiting 40 mins for desert to be served because apparently the other table with more people was more important

Wow been coming here a while and seen the new Sunday roasts so gave it a try the rib of beef was amazing the portions very generous and the service was friendly and afficant. The Xmas decorations were lovleh and the pub was warm and cosy with the fire roaring .

Absolutely disgusting! Food cold tasteless!! All meals returned and had bill refunded to card!! Staff unfazed by it!!! Shocking!!
