Ordered with chips. It came with mash. 1 1 Our Signature Steak Pie* with With Chips for £14.29 Pastry on steak & ale pie was the hardest I've ever eaten. Just about enough steak in the pie. Not a lot of food for price charged. Fod tasted ok.

Great local pub, good food & friendly staff

Tracey and her team do a brilliant job at making every visit to the Bulls Head an absolute pleasure, so much so it has become our 'go to' place now every Friday night when we go out to eat. We have tried quite a few of the options on the menu now and I can honestly say that we have thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them. Thanks guys, and keep up the good work!

Went in on a Friday night. Pub and restaurant was busy and good atmosphere. We had a nice table near the fire, food was good and it was 50% off because we had the Ember inn app voucher. Great value. Good customer service by staff. Would recommend anyone to go here and they love dogs too.

I love the new Chicken Tikka Masala curry, the quality of all the food has certainly improved. I have just one request, I also loved the now ex-Tomato & Red Pepper soup, not everyone likes thick (winter) soups which is what has replaced it :( , please bring it back :) and have 2 soup selections.

This pub including everything about it is amazing. Afternoon calling so maybe quiet, the food was fantastic, I'm looking forward to bringing my sister and family, hope the same chef is on and staff. Very clean and portion sizes were good. Thank you for a nice meal whereby no microwave was in sight!

Came on Monday for a bite to eat. Food was lovely, all was hot and decent portion sizes. Lady and gent working couldn't have been friendlier and quick to answer questions about the loyalty card and the app.

Stopped by for a pre-New Year’s drink and bite to eat. Alicia and Tracy were cheerful and attentive, ensuring my friends and I were well taken care of. The food offered great value, and the drinks were reasonably priced. I would definitely return!

We had a lovely visit yesterday. Very busy but Alice & Alicia were working hard behind the bar and Tracy was rushed off her feet running the food. All very polite and helpful under the pressure. Well done and Merry Christmas

I think they need more staff. I was told the food would take an hour; it took 1 hour and 25 minutes. I could forgive that if the food was correct, but my order was completely wrong. I didn't have another hour and a half to wait, so I just accepted it as it was. It looked like there was only a single person taking the food out; I'm not sure if they were just understaffed today. Overall, the pub and its atmosphere were very nice, I don't think I'll be going back though.

18/12/2024....Bar service is abysmal...again!!.. the staff do not man the bar, they socialise at the kitchen entrance.... Meal was great, cleanliness of external tables a little lax, I say this only because food & beverage spillages during warm sunny days attract wasps and flies... a little more attention to wiping down and clearing up would have made a perfect experience

Overall service, food quality, value for money and ambience was excellent.

The Wainwrights beer was superb. They know how to look after real ale. Enjoy !

The service from the guy behind the bar was excellent. He offered my husband a taste of the new craft ale so he could decide if he wanted a pint of it. Very nice beer. It was easy to order the food and it came quite soon and was very tasty. Reasonable prices, cosy atmosphere, tidy bar and eating area.

Arrived at the pub around 12:00pm for a couple of drinks and received a very warm welcome from the bar man (Cameron). Always a great service from Cameron and food is spot on, although I didn't eat today.

11th November 2024, My birthday fell on a Monday, the pub had a nice amount of people in, the fires were lit, the staff very friendly and the chicken tikka masala was delicious and very filling.

Outstanding food by jodie the chef, one of my favourite places to go for food! the staff are so friendly and very helpful! Only bad thing I can say is that I now dream about the burgers and always crave it on day to day basis

Have visited The Bulls head a few times, before and after their refurbishment. Always a warm friendly welcome and a relaxing atmosphere. Prompt food service after ordering. Good selection of food on the menu and a wide variety of drinks both alcoholic,non alcoholic and tea/coffee.

They don't care much for disabled people. Even refused an autistic boy entry at christmas.

Such a shame because the food itself was actually lovely. Service was so slow. Bar staff were rude. I ordered kids meal that comes with a desert and was told I needed to pay again to get the desert because I should have ordered with his main. This was never communicated to me. Waited 40 minute for ice cream sundaes. Bit of a joke really.

Good was cold, dry and stale. Roast potatoes where inedible. Small portions and thin watery gravy. Not good at all. Won't order again. Delivery was quick and the gammon was ok

Lovely welcoming pub. Standard Ember inn pub food, good deals for school holidays and quiz night on Wednesdays means it's packed to the rafters so book a table early not to be disappointed

Was a little busy due to specials night but ok

This used to be an amazing pub. We went there tonight for food to celebrate my sons 18th Birthday. Spent over £200. Firstly, it takes forever for them to bring you your food and when it does arrive it's luke warm. Maybe if I'd ordered delivery we would have got it sooner as they seemed to prioritise those orders. The steak was all fat and gristle, the chips under cooked and the peas had more wrinkles than my granny. Then, to top it off, the portion sizes! I had nine (yes I counted) chips on my plate, a steak that had less meat than a butchers pencil and a couple of spoons of wrinkly, dry peas. Every person at our table had a portion size that wouldn't fill a toddler. THEN the salt! Every single salt pot was full of wet salt! Staff brought us another salt pot and yes, that was also wet salt. The menus were covered in old food so clearly not cleaned regularly. It's such a shame because this place used to be so lovely and the food used to be much better. They now seem to be charging premium prices for minimal quality food and portions. One positive is that the staff, although rushed, we're very pleasant. Seems there's not enough staff to keep up, though, which isn't fair on them or their customers.

Been going here for 12?years plus had Sunday roast veg was very hard I ordered a eton mess there was no fruit and minimun meringue just ice cream minimum cream and raspberry sauce very disappointing

My husband and I called into day at 3pm . When we arrived it was quite not many customers in . We ordered the lunch special 3 courses for £12.29. We didn't have alcohol as we were driving . The first course was the bbq chichen wings we got 5 pieces each they were OK The second course arrived I ordered the mac&cheese my husband ordered the haddock fish cakes. The fish cakes came with chips ,peas and tarter sauce . He was disappointed with them as there was no taste to these the chips were supposed to be seasoned and they weren't. There was just no taste to them at all unless you put loads of tarter sauce on them . As for the Mac and cheese the same again the only thing I could taste was the onion bits they put on top of it . It also came with garlic bread . The sticky toffee pudding was just OK bbut the custard was from a packet which left a powder taste in your mouth. The pub it's self was clean the bar area was also clean and tidy . The toilets were also clean. I did notice a few chips around the table next to us on the floor it wasn't busy so there was no excuse for this . . The staff were friendly and polite. I rated it 3 stars as the food did let it down we paid £25 00 for the 2 of us . Some would say that wasn't bad if only we had enjoyed the food . We won't be returning.

drink wasn't delivered again. The restaurant has a terrible system that allows for drinks to consistently be missed by drivers. But I did leave a message for the driver to ensure the drink was in the order, which he totally ignored. Terrible service

Stunning setting outside area clean well kept and so many tables it was busy but food and service was excellent we will recommend to everyone locals like should be supported we will be visiting again thank you for a lovley afternoon

Sunny day just want to sit in the sun with friends and have a few drinks. Unfortunately you can't do that at the Bulls Head anymore due to the beer garden now being in the shade and the old beer garden being used as a kids football pitch! Had to go to Astley Point instead ...

The Bull is a great local pub and one I'm certain we'll be returning to regularly. However.. the place really really needs to step up on the outside facilities now we've got some decent weather. Please clean up the litter or put out proper bins x 4 so there's no excuses for it in the first place. And please clean up the tables from bird droppings, really poor the places opens and nobody has been out to check. Lastly.. for God's sake get rid of the tatty tables, really let's the pub down. I'm 100% behind supporting my local but you need to fix these issues.

Staff need more training, complained about my third pint of Carling as it was flat. The young lad that served me took it back to the Carling pump I thought he was going to replace it with another fresh pint. He hit it with another glass on top of mine two or three times & give it me back. When I said you don't do that he totally ignored me & walked away. Been going in this pub for many years never seen anything like it. Absolutely disgusted.

We had dinner in this lovely pub. The food was great. The staff were so polite and helpful. We were served at the bar by a a very polite young man called Tyler, and our food was served by a very helpful young lady Charlie. Very highly recommended place to eat and drink.

1st time here and will be coming back. Although the weekday menu isnt vast, it is decent enough and great value for a starter and main. Also the staff were very polite and helpful. Nice work 👍

We only called in for a quick drink and a bowl of soup to warm us up. Sadly the young boy behind the bar doesn't understand the word quick. We were kept waiting for over twenty minutes for 2 bowls of soup. Sadly when it finally arrived it was luke warm and to be honest very watery. My partner commented the soup from Aldi is better! The pub is lovely inside, but the staff we seen need a rocket up their backside.

Great value food and good quality on the meal deal. Sadly my main was cold. Long delay between starter and main. More a fault with the kitchen than overall experience. Starter and pudding were piping hot. Friendly staff.

Gone down hill since our last visit last year. Decor and atmosphere nice, relaxed and fairly quiet. However, food has room for improvement. I ordered the fish and chips and received a small portion of barely warm, obviously frozen chips, a spoon of very watery, cold peas and a luke warm fish. The comment from the hubby regarding his gammon was " its ok". Don't think we will be returning.

The Bulls Head has a lovely atmosphere & is reasonably priced. The food is really good & the waiter who served our table was very friendly & efficient.

Lovely afternoon - very busy and the staff were working hard to clear tables and tidy as they had visited by a local steam museum. Max, as always, was welcoming, entertaining and hardworking.

I needed somewhere that would accept my dog. This outlet was very willing to do so. Doggie treats and water bowls were available if required. The staff were very accommodating and the drink was excellent.

It use to serve a good pint but the lager goes flat very quickly now.

Came here today food was amazing, I got double bacon and cheese burger and my partner got chicken curry, service was amazing, Alicia was amazing and tended to our needs and max was lovely. 10/10 definitely will be back

What a beautiful pub! I’ve been in before but the new look is something else! A great atmosphere with great food (I had the ultimate burger which was amazing!). We had a chat to the manager too, who was great. A great pub!
