The best restaurants in Stockport North West

Livery friendly service, I had a drink request which was not quite on the menu which they kindly accommodated! Greek meze was delicious and great value for money, loads of choice and just the right portion sizes.

Awful attitude from the manager and dark haired lady completely ignored us which left us waiting between courses until I got up and asked. Food isn’t great and not really any choice on drinks.

Fantastic little pub, great landlord, sadly found this little gem too late as it has now closed due to Stockports Green regeneration scheme.....bring back the Gill.

Food is tasteless and greasy first and last time I will get curry from them ,when I phoned to complain they were rude and arsey bought meal for 2 so expensive for crap don’t waste your money

Food ok but why doesn’t the pizza taste anything like it used to at Pizza Hut? When you’d eat in, the smell and taste of the pizza was so good. The cheese was always so stringy and gooey. The food from here just tasted absolutely nothing like that and was a bit stale/tasteless. why is that??

Had a really poor experience when visited on 16 November. Had extensive safety and safeguarding concerns and immediately relayed these to the management in writing who said they would look into it. They offered me two free passes and I said I wouldn’t return until I know safety problems have been investigated and remedied. I sent several follow up emails before posting this negative review, they haven’t even bothered to reply. My concerns were: 1. No supervision in the indoor play area. It was a wet day. It was so (dangerously) overcrowded and older kids running everywhere in the toddler and baby areas. Did not see a single staff member anywhere in the play barn. Compare this to head over heels where staff regularly patrol and supervise 2. There are no locks or child protection gates on any of the the main exit doors straight out of the play barn and onto a car park. Shocking. When I was there I had to stop a couple of small toddlers (including my own!) from walking out- it’s just a normal door handle and the door was even left open when I was there. Dangerously unsafe 3. There are three steep stairs upto the main toilets near the play barn- the doors open outwards towards you as you approach. My toddlers fell backwards down the steps. 4. The door directly leading to the car park has no child lock- sign high up are asking parents to keep door closed but kids can easily open the normal door handle and run into the car park as cars reverse - could injure or kill a child I attempted to resolve matters directly with the company but they don’t seem to care as haven’t replied. Said three weeks ago they would discuss in a staff meeting but said nothing since despite my polite follow up emails. Therefore I have now reported them to ROSPA and the local council to investigate safety concerns So disappointed. Probably more disappointed that they think offering me two free passes was a resolution - why would I bring my children back here given my safety concerns ?

Closed (Wednesday at 12.20 PM) when it says it should be open from 11.30 AM - wasted trip!

Cash only which is a bit of a gripe but the landlord made an effort to know me, and to make myself comfortable. Pretty rare in pubs these days. Also I could vape indoors

Notion is now Blackbird Cafe! It was absolutely awesome 😎 Amazing food and excellent service! Staff were very kind and sweet! Lovely to chat to and they seem to like where they work. The Ox Cheek Nuggets were sublime! The sauce on the sticky chipolatas was so super tasty, that we had to use our chips to sop it all up. We shared a few starters ( Ox Cheek Nuggets, Sticky Chipolatas, Rosti Chips and Triple Cooked Chips) and had a main plate , the Wild Boat and Beef hotdog. It was all fabulous, even the ketchup .... It seemed a bit richer than usual but it could be that I've just not eaten ketchup in so long I've forgotten what it's like 😅😅. My favourite was the Ox Cheek Nuggets and Hubby's fave was the hotdog. The Ox Cheeks were really tender, flavourful and lightly breaded. They almost fell apart as we took them out of the container. The hotdog was really juicy and had a firm bite. The meat was spiced well and not overwhelmed by the mustard drizzled on top. Thank you for a fabulous meal!

Ordered a latte, I was watching the extraction time of the single shot, it was running far too long & then the staff member pressed it again. This wasn't barista quality. I couldn't even taste the coffee.

We have been getting our Chinese from Happy House every week for about 15 years and I must say we have eventually stopped. About a year ago we noticed that things had changed, I don't know whether there was a change in ownership as people have changed but the food is not as good as it was - the salt and pepper ribs are now dry and tasteless, the sweet and sour sauce is watery and the special fried rice is greasy. It upsets me to write this review but I do believe that unless you say something nothing will change and we have been unable to find a Chinese like Happy House anywhere else and really want to come back and £40 a week is a lot to loose to some businesses.

So I've eaten at many pizza restaurants and made many reviews and this is what I think off Alfredos... First off I give a total of 1/5 stars... Food was poor at best, is it possible to make 5 pizzas where they are beaten by a plain garlic bread? So my wife ordered Salami pizza? I bring this up as this was probably the worst Salami I have ever tasted, all you got was the taste of salt and nothing else, margarita pizza was basic but again tasted bland, and lastly Stockport hot pizza that wasn't hot at all even though I paid extra for extra hot, a polo mint would have been hotter.... So once we all finished with the food I asked all 5 people what star rated they would give? The best was 3 out of 10? Then we ordered cappuccinos? Waited 20min for to only get them lukewarm, so we sent them back, he said they was hot when they made them? That would have probably been the 20min before they brought them to us, anyway we sent them back and another 15min later did we then get hot cappuccinos, service was 2nd rate, you should never be waiting 10-15min to catch hold off a waiter, wouldn't mind the place wasn't busy.. Cost of 5 adult pizzas, 3 beers 1 orange juice, 3 cappuccino came to £110 + £10 service charge=£111.10 probably the worst £111 ive spent in probably 5years
