went to taylors satuday tea time,the fish chips and mushy peas were the best we have ever tasted,fresh beautifully cooked,the staff polite and helpful,the dining area spotless clean.cant wait to return,you would not get better anywhere,cooked to perfection.and tasted delicious. thankyou.

We have been coming here and eating in for years. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food is always delicious. Jamie leads a wonderful team, great work all!

I come in most Fridays on my way home from work, I have to say fantastic service from the friendly staff and finished by excellent food, good job all:-)

Had a great meal here, friendly staff. Home made, deep filled pies were great and the fish was superb. Shop was busy but service was still good.

Really disappointing visit tonight. Waited 30 mins in the shop to be served. Well under staffed in my opinion. No apology for the wait either. As a result of this we won’t be coming back. I could have travelled to the better chippy in romiley, came home and eaten it and then watched I’m a celeb before I’d have been served in there.

I called to the chippy today at 2:10pm. The doors were still open and people were sitting in the shopping eating. They saw me walk in and waiting till I was stood at the counter to advise me that were now closed. I had googled their opening hours which clearly stated they were open till 7pm. Pointless trip out as they clearly need to update their opening hours. Aside from that their food is excellent.

On Good Friday I ordered a lightly battered cod on account of health issues. I got a fish with standard/normal batter. I appreciate that you were very busy around 17.30 but I would still expect to receive what I ordered. I have the receipt in my possession and nowhere is it noted lightly battered, although salt and vinegar is noted.. When the young lady who served me shouted whose is the fish and chips! I asked if it was the lightly battered one, she said ‘yes’. This was not right. How would she have known if the order chitty wasn’t noted cod lightly battered. I was aware she never shouted out for a lb cod on taking the order. Mikey never gets it wrong.

Cracking fish and chips, great range of other menu options too. We had a couple of homemade pies in addition to the fish, between a family of 4, all of it was delicious. Staff were friendly and the restaurant area was very clean. Good value too, will definitely return

I visited the restaurant tonight with my friend we had heard some good reviews and were told you get your moneys worth. Ordered 1 large fish and chips and peas 2 bread and butter. 1 small fish I would share some chips) pot of tea and a can of Vimto the cost £18.25 What I got was a small fish a large fish which was not much bigger that the small one and a bucket of chips and peas, put the chips on the plate and there were not many at all, all the bits were in the portion not many full chips , absolutely disgusting for the amount of money we paid. A lady came in and ordered a chip butty and sausage and chips, the portions they got were ok the chip butty had double the amount of chips that my friend had the child had a lot more as well. I certainly won’t get ripped off again the amount of money we paid we could at least have had enough food, I didn’t have any chip because there wasn’t enough to share . LARGE FISH AND CHIPS YOUR JOKING

Service needs a lot of work to get orders done quickly and efficiently, At the moment you are waiting ages just for chips,, All staff seem to youngish with no idea, Used to visit regularly but not no more, Gone down hill, baskets on tables rusty old food splatters on the radiators. When you eat in and order fish dishes they are served with no tartar sauce, never known this anywhere before….. Come on guys get to grip with everything….

Visited for the first time. Very impressed. Nice clean place. Haddock turned out to be two(!) smallish fish on each place. It was lovely, white and cooked to perfection. It would be hard to get better. Chips, a generous portion and very good indeed. I had a portion of baked beans, and it was of a very generous size. Tea served in mugs, again a good drink. I noticed that the choice of fish was cod, haddock or hake. The value for money was absolutely first-class, and I recommend this restaurant without any hesitation at all.

I had haddock and wife had cod, both very good. Chips could have been better but filed the gap. I think the shop needs a degree of supervision with somebody who knows what they are doing, staff appeared to be lost with no idea of what to do. So bad that they were taking fish from inside diners plates and selling them to walk in customers. With a degree of planning and good management waiting time could be reduced. One further small but important point is don’t bag chips up until the rest of the order is ready

The best cod and chips we have had in a long time. Highly recommended. The fish is freshly fried and the service is very friendly.

Quality seems to have gone downhill. food container full of oil and fish batter soggy and sticking to chips. Chips not much better. Oil obviously not hot enough when frying. I have had much better from them in the past.

I was in Woodley, so I decided to go and pick up fish and chips. They only had cod. So I ordered three cod and chips. Delicious cod fillets very flavourful with a light batter, delicious golden brown chips. A excellent Irish curry sauce. I was served promptly and politely. They hare a extensive menu and normally a range of fish. A amazing chippy highly recommended.

We are regulars at this excellent fish and chip shop. This was the first time we had ordered online. It was, very easy to order online and customise your order, and was well designed and easy to use. Our fish and chips was delivered within the delivery time. I had haddock which was delicious with a, good crispy batter. I had lovely golden brown chips. My wife enjoyed her cod and chips. My son loved his steak and kidney pudding, chips and gravy. Recyclable packaging. A amazing chippy.

I don’t put a review until I have been several times - means testing I suppose. I can honestly say that this chippy overall is superb. The food has always been delicious and never had any nuances of disappointment. The staff illuminate the chippy with their individual characters; always welcoming, polite and passionate. The chippy has a great community vibe. Well done.

We had not been here for a few months. I went into the shop my order was taken and paid for. Then I was asked to wait at the outside side window for our order. It did not take long for at to arrive and it smelt delicious. My son and I had haddock and chips. A light and not heavy batter with delicious haddock and great golden brown chips. My wife enjoyed her cod and chips. Hake was also available. Usual brilliant service. They do a range of homemade pies. Have a loyalty card and do home deliveries. Highly recommended.

This is one of my favourite chip shops, I have been here several times over the past couple of years and the chips are always cooked the way I like them. I had a fish one time recently sitting in and it was so so nice. This place is delicious.

New curry sauce is something special. Staff are constantly amazing and food is great. I have witnesses first hand the abuse the staff get in the current climate for asking people to remain distant. They have a one way system and it’s very safe. Really sad that people are so vocal and negative in such challenging times. Keep doing what you do - it’s an amazing chippy.

Ordered sausage and chips I have to say the sausage was disgusting! It's the cheapest meat you can buy. The chips are not the best they must just buy the cheapest produce they can get, They should be ashamed of them self's.

Visited at lunchtime and ordered 2 x Haddock & Chips. Both fish were extremely soggy, the fish was also grey. Not convinced it was haddock. We do appreciate that we are not in Whitby but the batter was so soggy it was not pleasant at all. Service was great, maybe that's what the awards are for.. Shame!!

This time my son and I decided to eat in as part of the half price eat in deal. I ordered our meals from the counter there was a choice of two fish. My son and I both choose the hake, cod was also available. We did not have long to wait at our 2oiden table. The waiter gave us our food. Lovely golden brown chips, a delicious piece of hake in a light batter. Another highlight was the Irish curry sauce which was nice and spicy. My son had a similar meal to me having gravy with his meal, and enjoying his cup of tea. A excellent meal as always. You can pay by contactless payments. Easily the best in the area.

Ordered fish and chips on the new home delivery service a couple of times during lockdown for my parents who were shielded.Really easy to order on line, food arrived really hot and on time both times. Driver very friendly and carried out social distancing.Fish and chips are excellent.Thankyou for starting a delivery service it really cheered my mum and dad up xx

We had not been for a little while due to the current situation. I went into the shop which was well marshalled.I ordered 3 lots of fish and chips,. from in front of a plastic screen. All served in the usual efficient and prompt time.We all had cod. A delicious piece of fish, in a crisp batter. Lovely golden brown chips.Taylors is easily the best fish and chip shop in Stockport. So great on so many levels. Please note they are again taking sit down customers in the restaurant.

I've always been impressed with the quality of the food from my local chippy. During lockdown they set up a delivery service and me being lazy couldn't wait to try. Simple and easy online ordering. This is the first time I have ever had a food delivery early. The food was delicious AND piping hot. 100% recommended and will 100% use again.Brilliant!!

Fantastic service, everything arrived on time which I wasn't expecting in lockdown. I did message a few days before and mentioned it was my Mum's Birthday and was very surprised to find gorgeous cupcakes and a card for Mum, it brought a tear to her eye. This shop started their online delivery service this week very disappointing asks you to order in advance to get your meals we ordered the day before and still didn't get our meals or any explanation why also money has been debited from my bank account I will not be using this chip shop again nor would recommend it to anyone else

I went on Friday tea time this time. There was a queue at least 20 deep waiting to place their orders. It did not take that long to be served with a big team of staff working efficiently, in a friendly a prompt manor. Mikey took my order, and was very prompt and polite and friendly. I had a lovely piece of haddock in a light and crispy batter. Lovely golden brown chips. Great curry sauce. My wife enjoyed her cod and chips, and my son enjoyed his mini fish and chips. As my number of reviews reflect. I am a regular visitor to this fish and chip shop.On this occasion I got take out. It did not take me long to be served at the counter. The fish was cooked fresh to order. i had delicious haddock, my wife had cod and my son mini cod. They also cook hake as well. My haddock was a large portion and very fresh tasting with a lovely batter which was not to heavy. Lovely golden brown chunky chips. A good curry sauce and free tartare sauce which was homemade and delicious as well. My wife and son enjoyed their fish and chips as well and my son enjoyed his gravy.They serve homemade pies, apart from the steak and kidney puddings which are brought in. They do a range of other chip shop favourites.it is worth noting that they have a loyalty card. wnich after a number of stamps you get a free meal.You have the option of takeaway or eating in the restaurant.Great service from a brilliant chippy. I love this fish and chip shop and am a regular visitor. This time we ordered our food to eat in. I went to the counter to order our food, our order taken by a polite and efficient member of staff.

Waited at the counter nearly 5 mins, 4 members of staff 1was frying 1 was butter bread 1 was counting money 1 was talking! No one came forward to ask what I wanted. I walked out will never go there again.

This used to be a lovely place to get traditional fish and chips. However I left feeling very disappointed. The chips were undercooked. The portion was tiny for the price you pay. The fish was nice but again a very small portion. I used to love coming here. I dont go as ofter now as I live out of the area. I made a special journey to them as i wanted a traditional fish and chip dinner.

We went to our regular fish and chip shop 5 minutes before closing time. We ordered 2 portions of regular cod and 1 mini cod. All delicious with a light crispy batter, and very tasty fresh cod fillets. Golden brown tasty chips. Great mushy peas and curry sauce. They do a range of homemade pies, and often do a range of fish. We went to the counter to order our meal, with the cashier being very patient whilst we decided on what to order.

We went to this place to get a mid-week takeout. As usual I ordered the fish to be cooked to order at the counter. This time they only had cod, and no hake or haddock. It did not take to long for our order of 2x cod and chips, and 1 mini cod and chips to be cooked. The service was friendly and efficient.

Llamé aquí recientemente y tuve que esperar 10 minutos para las papas fritas y salsa a pesar de que el lugar estaba vacío con solo 1 persona en la sección de comida para llevar frente a mí. Durante la larga espera, fui testigo de cómo llegaba el marido de los propietarios desde algún lugar fuera y sin lavarse las manos, fui a la fritura que había detrás de la placa de cocción, etc. Levantó las salchichas y las colocó en el calentador antes de que les dijeran que las necesitaban para una comida. Orden en el restaurante. Luego sacó 2 salchichas del calentador con sus propias manos y las colocó en 2 platos antes de colocar las fichas en el recipiente para el personal. Las patatas fritas eran asquerosas, tiré más de la mitad de ellas. Sabían como si hubieran sido cocinados en un aceite extremadamente bien usado que debería haberse cambiado hace mucho tiempo. Este chippy dice ser "el único chippy galardonado en Stockport" Simplemente NO ES cierto, hay varios chippies con premios dentro de Stockport, todos los más meritorios que este lugar. Conclusión: caro, larga espera para lo básico y una higiene desagradable

Hoy (06/07/2018) los peces son excelentes como de costumbre, pero las patatas fritas! ! ! Posiblemente lo peor para muchos al año. Estaban secos y casi imposibles de digerir. Tuve que dejarlos que no es como yo. Sin duda las patatas serán culpadas, pero si no están a la altura, ¿para qué venderlas?

This time we decided to eat in. I ordered the fresh fish to be cooked at the counter. I had a lovely large piece of Hake in a light batter full of flavour, with lovely golden brown chips, a great tasty curry sauce, a decent tasty portion of mushy peas, my wife had a large portion of Cod with golden brown chips, my son had mini fish and chips all cooked to perfection I had a lovely Cream soda drink to wash my food down, my wife had son had tea in pots. Lovely wooden tables with all the condiments.

Freshly cooked and lovely staff and service. Obviously popular as lots of people coming in. Sadly fish and chips was bland and flavourless. Couple of chips hard and they had just been freshly cooked. Peas were pale and wet. Curry sauce was average.

I had a fantastic home made pie today for my lunch, meat and potato. The pies are made by the owner and are just what Home made pies should taste like. Absolute joy.

One of the best fish and chip places in Cheshire and the north west. Always freshly cooked food, great that you can order different fish the hake is huge but unfortunately usually sold out. This is an extremely popular takeaway and restaurant so be prepared to queue at busy times.

I love this fish and chip shop for numerous reasons. Today we got a takeaway. I ordered 2 Haddock and chips fish cooked to order also had Cod and Hake, fish cooked well in a nice crispy batter, had a lovely generous portion of chips golden brown, a pleasant curry sauce, my wife had Mushy peas well cooked and tasty, my son had steak and kidney pudding,chips and gravy all cooked well.

This is one of the best run chip shops around, staff are well trained. Fish is very good, and the service is excellent.

Our first visit and this won't be our last. We arrived for an evening meal and chose portions of hake and cod with chips and mushy peas accompanied by a large mug of freshly brewed tea. Payment is made at the time of ordering and after taking a seat at the very clean wooden tables the tea arrived. The mains followed within a few minutes, fish on the warm plates and "buckets" containing the chips and peas. The batter was light and tasty. There was plenty of food and we were glad that we didn't order a plate of bread to accompany the meal. Tartare sauce was available in small individual containers. I liked the display of competence, hygiene and training certificates which gave a reliable indication of the quality of the food and friendly employees. When we return a portion of chips to share will be enough for us. Loved the meal and friendly service.

Went on a tuesday evening. Unusually fairly quiet. Had cod and chips, no choice of fish today. Lovely crisp golden brown chips, a lovely portion of cod with a crisp batter, had a curry sauce, lovely rich flavour. My wife had the same as me with mushy peas. Mini cod and chips for my son, all cooked to perfection. Worth getting the loyalty card. This time we got a free portion of cod, for our takeaway meal.

Muy buen pescado y patatas fritas, pero a veces no tienen mi favorito - Abadejo - de lejos el mejor pescado para cocinar y tener con patatas fritas.

Yo vengo a este "fish and chips" a menudo como yo vivo cerca y es rápido. Las patatas fritas son el mejor y el pescado es bien maltratada, así que es todavía el agradable sabor del pescado no solo masa. El curry salsa es muy ligera y va muy bien con el pescado y patatas fritas. Recientemente me pusieron en un CV aquí y oído nada de vuelta, por desgracia. We come here from work on a pretty regular basis. It is consistently good, and the staff are great. Standard English fish & chip menu, with a nice addition being hake (delicious!), seabass and gluten-free options on certain days.

Taylor's have been constantly good for a number of years so if you want quality and good quantity you can't beat this place.

Been to taylors fish and chip shop today and was amazed considering we were the first people in this lunch time how dirty it was ie a lot of food on the floor our table was dirty and gravy splashed up the radiator next to our table it obviously had not been cleaned from last night considering they are lots of awards on the wall I think they need to get a good cleaner in there . Food was good but put off by the grim

I'll give this place another chance but wonder what's happening as quality isn't what it was. It was a midweek 6pm visit, so no excuses, Taylors.Additionally, my friend was served what I can say was the smallest portion of fish (cod) I have ever witnessed. We actually laughed about it.I think a bit of pulling up of socks is required.

A brilliant meal yet again, had lovely Haddock and Chips with Curry sauce, they do a range of fish including on this occasion Haddock, Hake or Cod, which my wife had. Lovely crisp batter on my fish, crispy chunky chips a generous portion of. Lovely curry sauce, great Mushy Peas. My son had Steak and Kidney Pudding, chips and gravy all lovely. Easily the best chippie in Stockport, and indeed Greater Manchester, A award winning chippy and rightly so. Great service cannot commend this place enough.

There are few places to enjoy fish and chips seated at a table in South Manchester. This is one of the best. The quality of the fish and chips is very good. Service is given by a cheerful team who have the time to talk and engage with their customers. The fish was exceptional: plump, moist and perfectly cooked, coated in a light batter that was full of flavour. Taylors are worthy of their many awards and we shall continue to make visits for our fish and chip 'fix'.

I bought two fish and one portion of chips to take out. In my fish I encountered three inch long fish bones one of which stuck in my throat and nearly chocked me. I rang the chip shop and told them but they didn't seem to think leaving bones in fish was a problem at all. It was to me and my very scratched throat!! I didn't eat any more of what was lukewarm food and chucked it all in the bin....and certainly will never be going back to this chip shop!

We have been patrons of this once excellent chippie for years but after today's experience it will be a long while before we return. A wall in the eat in part of this chippie is lined (3 whole rows of them) with accolades and awards but sadly, if an inspector had visited today, there would have been no more awards. We visited at 2pm on a virtually empty Monday lunchtime, 3 staff on and out of 12 tables, only one was clean enough to eat on. The others were either full of the remains of earlier diners meals or unclean and unusable with stray cold chips, crumbs and ring marks. We ordered standard fish, chips and peas. The fish was up to standard, hot, crispy batter and tasty. The accompanying chips, however, were, at best, lukewarm and dried up. For the duration of our meals the tables around us remained uncleared despite staff returning empty handed from serving us and passing the debris on the vacated tables. Whilst waiting for our order to be taken at the counter, we witnessed one member of staff knock several carry out pea containers onto the floor, bend down, pick them up and replace them for using with the next order !!! (Oh dear !!!). Before we left (35 minutes after arriving), a member of staff cleared the dirty tables but didn't bother wiping the tables down. We mentioned our experiences to an apparently disinterested manager who had just arrived. Oh dear, Taylor's, your halo has certainly slipped and we won't be recommending you any more.

We have visited here several times over many many year's and thought it was the best in the area. However the last time was not that good, the whole meal was over cooked and not to the expected standard.

Heard so much about this place, took an elderly friend for lunch. Very clean, lovely staff, did a smaller portion for my elderly friend who can't eat a large portion so she had a pensioners special. Can honestly say , best fish and chips in the whole of Stockport!! Fish done to perfection, not greasy at all, chips were perfect!! My elderly friend enjoyed it that much we now go regularly once a week, the staff are great with her and are so pleasant , both the lads and young ladies, keep it up xx

We came here on a Saturday lunchtime and ate in. I had scampi and potato scallops and my boyfriend had steak and kidney pudding with chips. The food was really good value and arrived at our table quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. A definite bonus for me is that the sauces were on the table and were in proper bottles and jars so we could help ourselves to as much as we wanted with no additional charge. The food was well presented and delicious. We would definitely come here again.

A brilliant fish and chip shop, eat in or takeaway, friendly pleasant staff, who remember you. Have a good selection of fish, this time had the Haddock, lovely fresh fish in a crisp batter, nice big chunky chips, lovely mushy peas and curry sauce., This Chippy has won lots of awards with good reason. Easily the best Fish and chip shop in Stockport.

I hate fish and chips normally ( I know I'm a freak) but the fish and chips here and wonderful. They are so light and you can get the ingredients are fresh and of great quality. The staff are excellent. The place is really clean and has a wonderful vibe to it. Thumbs up!

Part of a group of chip shops, very good service,at times a couple of staff seem almost manic in there desire to give good service, never have to wait a long time for service.

Best Fish and Chips for miles. Particularly after a summer holiday abroad can't wait to get back and saviour Fish Chips and curry sauce from Taylor's. Everything is top quality.

Visited here many times the service, food and price are fantastic Staff are very helpful and the restaurant is very clean and comfortable Can't fault it!

Taylor's fish is always fresh and the batter is light and crispy. Can't comment on the chips because i don't order them. I like the fish and peas and a big mug of tea. The cafe is spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly and the service is excellent.
