The Fingerpost Hotel in Stockport

Came on mothers Day. It was fantastic, good with fantastic staff I have been before, and I will be back again soon. If you want hot food with good-sized potions, then this is the place to go.

Came shortly after Christmas with our dog hoping to get some food&bevs. Lovely staff, dog friendly and the food was great. They went the extra mile when they were out of the vegetarian option and provided a delicious meal for myself

Some items aren't available on the menu Monday to Saturday. Lamb's Liver & mash which is apparently a roast dinner is one example. It's best to check with the bar staff first what's on the menu.

It would be helpful if the people serving behind the bar could pay attention to the customers and not be busy cooing over a baby. I would like to say the food was good. However, as the female behind the bar thought that lambs liver was a roast, and therefore we couldn’t have that on a Saturday, we decided not to eat. We had no confidence in their ability to get it right. My Diet Pepsi was in fact full fat so it was a good call. She did offer us a barm instead ☹️ Honestly what’s the point in having a bar menu if the people serving don’t know what’s what. On a festive note, 2 blokes are selling Christmas trees outside the pub.

Avoid this pub They use one of those car parking companies that charge £100 but no lighting in the car park, no signs in the pub and staff don’t warn you at the bar.

Great place...people are very warm and friendly even to a non local like me ..good selection of Robinson beers ...the Madri larger on tap is excellent.....dogs are allowed in there also..... very polarised....either very quiet or very busy.... good mix of people....Couldn't fault my visits......

We visited on a Sunday night about 8pm was a nice warm evening got there just a few locals about unfortunately the place is a Robinson house so the beers unicorn and some bland stuff called smooth or cream are just the worst beers you could ever taste, if you like beer especially real Ales give Robinson brewery a miss

Great Sunday Dinner at a very reasonable price

Booked in for Sunday lunch, the food was cooked to perfection, absolutely outstanding, and excellent value for money. The staff are welcoming, friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere is great with a community feel which is lacking in so many pubs today. In summary, it's a "proper" down to earth pub run by "proper" people with a "proper" clientelle.

Local pub , friendly and good service. We meet as a family have drinks and salt and pepper chips which are yummy and good size portions.

Proper old boozer full of Victorian character. Quite quiet on a Wednesday evening, but they clearly have both darts and pool teams, so a great community vibe

Even when this pub was your typical boozer the food was still ranked really high so after the refurb it's still absolutely spot on. Another local on my doorstep so winner winner for me 😁

The Sunday lunches are unbelievable!!. How they make a profit is a mystery to me. A three, ( 3), meat meal with ALL the trimmings for what they charged me is ridiculous. Cannot fault their food ethics in any way at all. Long may they reign.

Asked for 2 cask ales, none of which were available. Got a pint of Guinness that had a yellow head.

Just wish to say the meal we had today was possibly the best fish and chips we have had in a long time, we were there on a very sad occasion, but will call again in the near future xxx

Proper pub that pulls off a mean roast dinner.

Fancied a roast dinner and didnt have anything in. What a delight it was to have a lamb and chicken Sunday roast delivered to your house by these guys. Really tasty, great portion size and fantastic value for money. Friendly service too..highly recommended.. Get involved 👍

What a gem. Sunday lunch was so nice and you got to sit in little sitting rooms so organised but you weren't forgotten staff kept popping in to check you were ok. Will definitely go back.

I attended a private function. We were well looked after, food great and hot drinks always available. Bar staff welcoming and happy to assist.

Good pub supplying Local brewery ales,ie Robinsons brewery, also provide home cooked meals at reasonable price.

Great pub...good choice of drink

I have never been to the finger post before and was looking for a venue for my little boys christening. I couldn't have found a better place for my party. Not only is the pub beautiful but the staff are warm and friendly and the food was amazing! We had looked at local golf clubs and hotels but the finger post was not only the best for price but space and quality too. I will certainly be making this my local pub if only to try the wonderful looking Sunday roasts that were passing by!!! All in all it was a magical day made even better by the fantastic barmaid who couldn't do enough to help and the best venue choice I could have made!

The scampi was lovely and the leg of lamb was falling off the bone and both were presented nicely. Good value and very enjoyable

While staying locally , three of us popped in for a drink and a meal . We were welcomed by pleasant and courteous staff and ordered our drinks . The food followed soon afterwards . The meal was tasty and very enjoyable . We enjoyed or visit and would recommend this restaurant, we have been there since for a drink and the service was excellent on our second visit .

Nice friendly pub but needs a bit updating.

The downstairs function room is a bit dark and bleak. To go to the toilet you have to squeeze through a very dingy pool room. The toilets were clean and updated. The neni looked impressive and everyone seemed friendky

mwWe visited this place in a very long time and was not disappointed. My partner had steak pudding which was excellent and I had cheese onion pie which excellent would go again soon

Nice clean comfortable pub with a good variety of cask, keg and bottle beers , I'm also told by some of the regulars that the food menu is very good with with the food being very tasty.

Came here with my mum and dad for a drink and had salt and pepper chips as a snack they were gourgeus . The pub seemed to be more of a mans pub but was still nice. Service was really good nice and friendly. Would definitely go back .

With this being my local I can't stress this enough, it's a very friendly pub. It's open plan, however, still feels secluded with the different rooms. It's well worth checking out and it'll probably become your local too!

Excellent Staff with plenty of Food and with great taste

Travelled from out of town to attend a friends birthday party, held in the function room. The pub did the catering and the food was lovely. There was a great selection, something for everyone. It was fresh and tasty, a mixture of hot and cold buffet food. My only small niggle was going to get drinks at the bar, people sat at the bar, shoulder to shoulder all night, making it hard work to get served. Overall a nice place and we al had a great time.
