Telve Cafe & Bistro in Stockport

Went for brunch while car was having a repair and like another reviewer has said we really wish we hadn't. My veggie breakfast had a cold vegetable finger instead of a sausage, a tiny scrambled egg, a small hash brown and some mushrooms with a raw tomato. I had to pay extra for the slice of toast so altogether it was over £10 for the worst veggie breakfast I've ever had. I was suspicious when I saw a bottle of Asda value brown sauce on the table. My wife had a falafell wrap which was dry and tastless, overcooked with chips which were ok. Cannot understand how this place gets good reviews and stays open. Will never go back.

Welcoming place. Staff lovely. Food excellent. Breakfast top quality ingredients. Bacon wow. Omelette wow. Accessible toilet. All on one level.

I was waiting for my car to have a repair at a local garage so popped into Telve for breakfast. Wish I hadn’t…. Although my cup of tea was absolutely lovely (and let’s be honest, it’s not hard to get tea wrong), the toastie I ordered (that cost £7) was absolutely rank. It had plastic cheese in it - you know the stuff, cheap and cheerful squares of orange cheese? I was hungry but still left half of it and nobody asked or was even remotely interested in whether I enjoyed it. So for a tenner I got a nice cup of tea and half a toastie. I also popped to the toilet which was really smelly because a giant poop had been left in there and not flushed. I left after that, completely put off. Won’t be visiting again.

Lovely food and great, friendly service.

Staff were wonderful, food was lovely, no veggie sausages or veggie bacon available on our visit, no problem as was substituted with a tasty hashbrown. Coffee lovely. Milkshakes also really nice, would come back just for milkshakes. Nice location can look into the street and people watch, decor nice and very tidy and clean. Would visit again :)

Due to a morning car breakdown I had an hour to spend in Hazel Grove. I found this place by accident but will be happy to come back. I've just enjoyed friendly service and a lovely Turkish Breakfast served with friendliness. It's clean, friendly, there's a lively atmosphere and it's been steadily busy. Lovely cup of tea and non greasy sucuk sausage, poached egg, tomato, cucumber, tomato, feta and olives served with toast and jam for a tenner. There was a nice amount to eat well but not feel stuffed and the other breakfasts coming out looked carefully prepared and enticing; v impressed. Nice people here..

We came here for breakfast last Saturday. The place wasn't busy, and the young waitress was very hospitable. I ordered a Turkish breakfast, and my wife ordered an English breakfast. The quality was reasonably high, and the portion sizes were just right. It was possibly just a pound or two higher than what it could've been. I would return, though. A payday treat kind of place and one that needs support.

Twelve is always so welcoming and the staff are so wonderful. Took my 7 month old baby and they were all wonderful with him as always. Highly recommend for great service and brilliant tasting food and drinks which are great value too!

Had a delicious mezze for lunch, food was very high standard and the staff really friendly. I'll definitely return soon.

Great atmosphere, good space to catch up with friends or even have a meeting because they've spaced the seating. Food tastes good, and service is top tier

Lovely little neighbourhood cafe, with friendly owner. I just had a couple of coffees and did some work on their WiFi while I waited for my car in the nearby garage, but will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our food. Fresh and good quality. Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy with decent decor.

Go to this place quite often, staff are always polite and friendly, food is really nice. It's a nice quiet place with good atmosphere.

Sooooo expensive medium cappuccino ( take out cup) cheese, Toastie £10,50!!!!!! £6,95 for cheese toastie !!!! Ridiculous

Prices are extortionate £5 for a milkshake and £3.50 for a small apple juice on top of that we were charged for a 2nd apple juice which we did nt even. order never going back .stay clear unless you ve got money to burn

My mum asked for butter she got some utterly butterly cheap spread which doesn’t really matter as the scone was In edible. The staff new what they were doing the whole atmosphere was just wrong. My mum paid full as they got very defensive and she felt bad she paid £25 for it. Disgusting.

Very expensive for a cafe way more expensive than other cafes in the area. Not worth it for what you get.

Had a really lovely meal here. The food was good and there are lots of options on the menu. The staff were all wonderful too.

Been twice now. Nice relaxed place and can take the dog in. Has a good vibe in there too Smooth fm playing sat by the fireplace guitars n violins hung on the wall. Its my kind of place latte is gorgeous too

Called in twice now for my take away lunch. I really enjoyed it. Presentation and quality was as expected. Highly recommended

I had a Turkish breakfast, very nice, different but that's what I wanted, light, tasty and just enough.

Always good food at reasonable prices

The first time I came here I was walking past and my dog insisted on dragging me in, it was later in the day and fairly empty so could see things were winding down. Even tho the kitchen was closing Yuri insisted on making me something to eat. They made a huge fuss of my dog and were incredibly welcoming. Every time I have been since the experience gets better and better. It’s full of regulars which I think says a lot. The staff are on first name terms with them. Even though I don’t go as often as I’d like to Yuri always remembers me and my dog and makes an effort to chat and bring treats over.

Friendly staff but very overpriced. Charged £3.50 for a Fanta and £2.50 for a kitkat which is ridiculously high compared to other cafes in the area! The coffee is ok

We went for a family brunch on a Saturday, the service was excellent and the food was excellent to.We had a mixture of different foods from a full English to poached eggs with smoked salmon to eggs and chicken nothing was to much trouble, I asked what the Turkish sausage was like and they cooked one so I could try it, it was very nice. When it was time to go the staff made a big fuss of us and we said we would definitely be coming back.

Great place to meet and eat with friends and family. Lovely tasty food, served by friendly welcoming staff. Cleanliness, Quality and price are very well balanced. Third time here and all still very good, so did this review. Will definetly be back. PS they do have/sell vouchers..Nice gift. Parking not at site, however plenty in the area. Or maybe use Torkington Park..10 minutes stroll from Telve.

Awesome food and staff are really friendly!

Telve's should be very proud of themselves. It is brilliant. Freshly cooked to order. It caters for all age groups ie. Children's library as well as catering for adults. Nothing is too much trouble. Worth more than 5*.

Very good food served by a very helpful young man

Went for lunch, but was very shocked at how expensive it is. We ended up having to share a toastie as everything else was so dear. The menu sounds nice, but the prices are ridiculous. Staff and venue were both nice, but I'm sorry at those prices there's no way I'd return. If we had seen the food prices before we ordered our coffees then we would have gone elsewhere. It's a shame but for me it's way to expensive for a cafe on the A6.

Popped in for first time today for takeout coffee and a sandwich. Great service and food/coffee were just delicious! I will be back!

A really welcoming, comfortable place with fantastic well presented food. I popped in at lunch time and was really well looked after despite a table of about twenty already keeping them busy. Great service, great coffee and really impressive food.

Whenever I visit friends and family in the Stockport area I go to this lovely cafe. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble . The food choice is excellent including vegan options and the portion sizes are generous and reasonably priced . Can’t fault it. Highly recommended. Can get very busy so book ahead if you want to ensure you get a table

Great quality : breakfast for price, (you can tell in the thickness of the bacon, its beautiful.) Customer service is out of this world. (Ginette deserves a payrise for the enthusiasm she puts into her work.) Very pleasant place to eat. Lits of intresting things. Including the book corner. All in all , A Extremely enjouyful experience.

Lovely café. The food was reasonably priced, extensive menu and we had prams (5 prams!) and they accommodated us and made us very welcome. They even offered to keep my food warm when my baby needed feeding. Definitely will return, thank you ❤

The environment was clean and welcoming. The waitress who served me was polite and friendly. I ordered a large Breakfast which came well presented on a rectangular plate. There was no trace of oil or grease and the food was fresh. My only real criticism is that you only got 1 slice of toast with the breakfast and Coffee was not included in the price.

The food was excellent and the service was just as good. My daughter had an English breakfast which looked very clean and she said it was really tasty, I had mezze which was also really tasty and very presentable. We only live in cheadle Hulme so will definitely be going again. I would definitely recommend this establishment.

Normally pretty decent, but latest order was missing sausages from a full English breakfast... I rang the restaurant, he was sure he put the sausages in.... I would not ring if I had sausages. I can assure you there wasn't any at all. I was promised a voucher for my next order but I still haven't received it.. I still gave 5 star on Uber... Thanks for nothing.

Called in for my first 'eat in' meal since restrictions had been lifted. Covid measures were in place and observed well by staff and customers. Food was excellent, a large breakfast, and served by a very friendly lovely waitress. Enough tea in the pot for 2 and half cups, breakfast nearly beat me it was that big. Good quality ingredients. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Great place for coffee during these outdoor only times. Have eaten here in normal times and food and service is good. Glad to see them re open.

Had a couple of breakfasts here. Place is pleasant enough. But the service is slow - despit it always being a lot less than full. The food is only average and the place seems to be run as a hobby rather than a serious businesss.

Me and my partner visited the cafe last Saturday when we arrived there was only one other table of 4 people who hadn’t ordered either. After all our orders were taken we waited 15 minutes for a coffee and tea then a further 45 minutes for two eggs Benedict. I am not one to complain but it was the worst breakfast I’ve ever had I’m still unsure how you can get such a simple breakfast so wrong. We will not be visiting again and I would stay away.

Nice friendly cafe. Good choice of food. Usually prepare the food quickly. Not the cheapest place to eat but good quality. I enjoy the omelettes whicj are nice or eggs benedict.

Went here today with family and really pleased i did. The food was amazing, the service exeptional and friendly. Nothing was to much trouble. We all had a different meal and each meal was lovely. Very generous portion sizes and presentation was better than ive seen in well known restraunts. I would definately reccomend eating here you wont be dissapointed .

We've had lovely turkish paninies and jacket potatoes with the children. They were all delicious! The welcome and the service was very good. Little book corner helped to entertain my toddler. Will be back.

Nice people and nice food. However got charged nearly double than what was quoted on menu and website for jacket potato.

Upon arrival I was excited to try what the menu had on offer. There’s nothing like a cafe on a Sunday morning after a long night. Sadly my experience wasn’t a positive one. The food took so long to come out. There was another table where a child started crying because it took so long. They left. To be honest that child just merely reflected how I felt. When the food did come out the disappointment didn’t stop there. I ordered the Penne meatballs, the pasta to meatball ratio wasn’t good. Four meatballs to so much pasta made the meal feel like I was just eating a bunch of pasta. It was also a little cold and just not that tasty. My brother in law (who looked just as upset as that crying child) ordered a peri peri chicken but was served a Cajun chicken instead. At this point he was just happy there was food in front of him. My mother in law ordered a lasagne which wasn’t what she got. So she had to wait even further till she got her meal. The staff were very apologetic after the mistake and the chef came out and apologised again. The other staff were also very friendly and pleasant. I would be willing to try this place again and give them the benefit of the doubt. But maybe call in three days in advance so my food will arrive on time. P.s The fries were dam tasty.

Not that great. The breakfast was ok. Edible but nothing special. A different tea was brought out to what we ordered. There was no non dairy milk options for coffee. Wouldn’t go back.

Had a nice lunch here with my daughter on “brexit” day, which coincided with her birthday. Because of the time, there was more than adequate choice of seating. Staff were extremely friendly, plenty of choice on the menu for drinks and lunch, service came with a nice smile and chat. Our orders came, one vegetarian and one carnivorous! Well presented and tasted good. No problem eating or even just coffee and a biscuit here again.
