Great range of local real ales, fine lagers and ciders.. Great for live music, supporting up and coming local bands, good for private functions.

Ace pub, great staff and live music!!

Lovely place with different things happening. They have live bands and guitar circle etc. I haven't been too often, but I can imagine it's a place where every night of the week offers something different so that it caters for everyone. The guy behind the bar (I don't know if he was the manager or owner or bar staff) was very nice and friendly and welcoming. It lost a star from me because I found it quite expensive. We had been in two other pubs first that were a fair bit cheaper than here. However, the prices weren't that OTT, it was just a bit more than suited my pocket at the time, and if there had been a band on that night, I probably wouldn't have even noticed the prices. I would recommend this place if you are a music lover. It's about time Stockport had a bar like this 😊

Absolutely brilliant venue for live and loud entertainment! Owners are so welcoming, small intimate venue, gives great sound, good location for people passing by and popping in, love coming here 😍

Given all the great reviews for this bar I feel I need to justify why I'm rating 1 star. This bar has a complete disregard for safe volume levels and attending this venue will permanently damage your hearing. I attended on the 28th June and the volume was absolutely unbearable. If you value your hearing do not visit.

Great monthly blues jams here. Friendly staff, will do instant coffee at the bar which is handy for drivers (like me). Nice little bar, good vibes.

Awesome live music venue, willing to break the mold and try something new, you never quite know what you'll get, but you'll enjoy it anyway and the staff are so nice! 👍😁

Great wee local live music venue

Went to the Jam Soup night on a Wednesday. Great night jamming with some talented, young musicians. Dan does a great job encouraging people to get up and play without pressure. Free flowing, bit psychedelic, funky, bluesy, really multi genre stuff. Thoroughly enjoyed it, I'll definitely be at the next one on Jan 10th.

Totally superb night watching The Stranglers tribute band.Great atmosphere, good beer, terrific night. 10/10 . Going again definitely.

Small place, not much ventilation very warm when the place is full, very small restroom, staff are friendly enough.

Superb hidden gem of stockport if you're into live bands. The musicians that play here are some of the best of the best and i've also had the privilege of performing there a handful of times. Brilliant owners that are down to earth and have a proper passion for the arts and creative scene.

What a lovely little find, a little lived in lounge esque proper live music pub. For the locals but very inviting and we felt right at home. Good music choices - The Smiths, the Cure all being sung along to. Looks to be a blues festival venue in September - would defo come back for that.

Great little pub serving a wide selection of craft beers, real ales and other beverages. Also has a cracking live music scene too. I’ve been a number of times and never disappointed.

If you don't like loud music then you must avoid the Spinning Top, if you do like loud music the you must frequent the Spinning Top on a regular basis. The Spinning Top is an excellent venue for live music.

When to watch a band bax rafter enjoyed it very much will go again the wine was good as well 👍

Brilliant friendly live music venue.

Our first visit was during the Stockport Blues Festival, had a great day there, not a huge place but a good atmosphere for live music. Let down by the flimsy plastic cutlery you get with your pie & chips, for all of us it shattered into the meal when you used it and I cut my thumb. The other reason I've only given it 3 stars is the draught beer was foul. Stockport is unique in having its own independent brewery 'ROBINSONS' why weren't you promoting that ! I know tastes differ but 'Robbies' is a well established and popular ale. I hope you consider it. The festival was well organized and we shall certainly return next year and before that if we can get a decent pint, Chesters or canned Boddingtons would do. People have complained about difficulty in parking. A couple of side-streets along 'Station road & Railway Road you'll find the main precinct with a huge car park which is a short walk to the club.

Lovely, small, old fashioned blues club. Always worth a visit if you are in the area. Small range of draught beers, but virtually, every spirit known to man!

I've been in here several times and always has a great night because I love live music. They started an open mic night on a Thursday which I went to and it was great! The beers are good and the guys that run it are ace. It's a real highlight of Stockport and everyone I've spoken to in there have always been well down to earth.

Fab old school venue with a real rock n roll vibe and good ale. The acts are top notch too

One of tge two Stockport Live music venues. Good cask ale, happy pleasent free entry and a pot on the table to pay for the bands (memories of the old Bakers Vaults). A little shabby and need some investment and marketing

The beer was poor, the lead singer in the band said they had travelled from London. Those were the last words that were audible, once she started singing it was a deafening inaudible cacophony and ppl started to leave, I soon followed.

Great little music venue in Stockport. Had an awesome night there. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes live music.

Makes his prices up as the nite goes on which is highly illegal , taking advantage of people when they have been drinking, won't be going in again , and it's a dump

Lovely bar, lovely staff with some tasty drinks available and fantastic rock music playing! The rectangular shape (wider than it is deep) and small pillars mean wherever you sit you have a great view of the stage if a live band is on. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, I travelled for two hours to get here and I am very glad I did! I will be back, as should you.

Great local venue for bands. Amazing cider selection. Landlord from Dorset. Very ‘Stockport’, thank heaven there are still places like this...most shut down all over now by Big Brother. Had a lovely relaxing evening there. BTW a great Porter available instead of the ubiquitous Guinness ...

The Spinning Top is easily the best place in Stockport for music. The landlord really knows his stuff and between the staff and regulars, there's always a good atmosphere.

Lived in Stockport for a while and had no idea this place existed l. But so glad I found it. The band they had on were amazing.

What a mess !!! No money been spent on this place for many years. Not been before , knew it was there as lived in this area. Noticed walking inside tiles all broken. It was like a big roomNo decent decor. Live music on. People outside smoking. Busy place. However didn't get my interest. Not the standards I am used to. Parking was difficult. It is a busy road. Definitely will not be going again.

As the title says, never had a good pint yet in here. Not worth it really.It does hold good live bands but drinking off taste beer while doing so is not on..J

Great intimate gig venue, owner and bar lady are both really friendly. Quality bands from near and far! Only thing I'd add is more variety of quality wines, I'm not a fan of beer!

Mainly a live music venue the proprietor Mike Swan is a true 'legend'. Intimate space great atmosphere and good choice of drinks at reasonable prices. If you like live music of all genres...give it a whirl.

This is a hidden gem, regular live music, the bar sells an excellent range of cask beers ( ever changing) and a good selection of other drinks, the owners and staff are really friendly! The drinks are reasonably priced and although a small compact venue nothing to lose in trying it out and I am sure you will not be disappointed if you enjoy live bands in a pub atmosphere!

Went here with friends. Very enjoyable.

We were a party of four, three of us disabled in differing degrees, wanting to go to this (new for us) venue to see one of our favourite Blues performers. Our illustrious leader, John, contacted the pub in advance to ask if suitable arrangements could be made for us. Michael could not have been more helpful! We got a reserved table with a fab view of the performance, and within easy reach of both ladies' and gents' loos. Couldn't have been better! Excellent Ale from Poynton Brewerry We will be back!

Visited to catch musically proficient blues/rock band The Removal Men. Free entry and some decent beer. Ok, the venue is not luxurious but we had a friendly welcome, great view and the locals were friendly. Well worth catching this cult band (myself and others had followed them under their various guises for over 40 years). Visit and enjoy a much welcome independent music venue.

Some great music, there was a band called EQUINOX playing some great original heavy rock, and there needs more venues like this

Always go there when a bands playing, it's about the only place where they showcase new talent as well so good on Michael the manager for that!

Intimate live music venue. Good selection of ale and helpful staff. Music is excellent, have listened to some great bands and solo singers there.
