The Friendship in Stockport

came for the karaoke night and rude member of staff kicked us straight out after we didn’t want to order another drink. stormed us out and said “what do you think this a hostel” then slammed the door.

Rude staff, sat at the bar and was asked if I wanted a another drink, I politely declined and was told to “get out then” by a member of staff, after he escorted us out he shouted it “wasn’t a hostel” and slammed the door in our faces, never coming back

Thankfully the Friendship was friendlier than Platform one. A traditional Robinson's pub. Three drinkers rooms and a Pool / Dart room. Also a rear beer garden. Three real ales. Had the best bittet, Unicorn. Very good. Big kid friendly beer garden and car park.

30/7/24 ,not been in here for a while. Tuesday evening and very quiet prices have increased but still very pleasant.

We came here after being told from a friend that there was a bouncy castle and bits for the children going on as it was easter Sunday. After asking we learnt that we were actually wrong and there wasn't anything happening besides a lot of football. The barman then went above and beyond for our 3 children and they each got a toy egg to open. The toy egg had a raffle ticket for an easter egg inside. The locals also make the atmosphere of this pub very welcoming. A park at the rear with a big car park and plenty of seating. We will definitely return here as the kindness we were shown today is a service that absolutely stands above expectation.

Best beer in Romiley. Robinsons isn’t everyone’s favourite brewery but the choice, condition and flavours on offer here were fantastic. Shame that so many people spent so much time suckling on vapes.

Fantastic lovely local pub! Great beer clearly well kept. Lovely welcoming atmosphere. Two snug style rooms, one through room with karaoke and pool/darts room. Nicely kept back area with planting and lighting courtyard style. Marquee seating area and lovely bowling Green style area for the children to play with additional play area and equipment. Amazing landlord and landlady who have always been accommodating. The friendship is an asset to romiley it’s family friendly in the day and a fantastic vibe in the evenings/weekend. Highly recommend!

Such a friendly pub! All the locals made me feel so welcome and they are so funny to be around! There’s a great lawn out the back for kids to play on and all the staff are really good looking-fantastic!

Robinson’s have such an innate ability to take the soul out of every pub that they own, and then wonder why they’re closing down — seems like they do it on purpose Conversely, the landlord seemed very frank in a good way — just Robinson’s in general aren’t great

Do yourself a favour and don’t bother. The worst pub in the area by a country mile. Toilets filthy and landlord/ barman emerged from stall to behind the bar without washing hands. Incredible. Needless to say , no more drinks purchased and left. Clientele a mix of kids and bnp types. Not nice

Love this place, I tend to go for a quiet afternoon drink whilst out with one of our dogs who are always welcome. Good selection of beers and friendly conversation. Well recommended

WARNING! Dont bother.. Landlord is basically drowning his own business with a very disappointing attitude to new customers. Swearing at customers and calling them a c***. Will not be going here ever again.

Love this pub but have had a couple of experiences now where the landlord has shown a lack of tolerance and has been extremely rude. Started to look upon this pub as our new local but that has now changed unfortunately.

Friendly and good selection. Great spaces with small tables and room for groups.

Nice landlord rude staff full of blokes no atmosphere. Odd atmosphere in the frenny tonight host was Okay but young lad Behind bar blatenty rude..

A lively local pub with a carpark and outside kids area. Believe there's a crown bowling green, but it was dark when I visited! Reasonably good range of beers. Red wine choice limited but OK. Would return for a comfortable drink. Would imagine that summer at the back would be very pleasant.

Received abuse from disgruntled bar staff clearly upset by my sexual choice. Was removed physically from the premises and told in no uncertain terms your sort are not welcome here. Don’t go there!

Where do i begin!! Lovley welcome first of all by lovley friendly staff!! We asked for a table outside because of the lovley weather and we were escorted to a beautiful seating area with parasols and ashtrays(for you smokers out there). We had a look at the menu and there was a nice range of food, tapas and deserts and most importantly cocktails!! I could of honestly sat there all day!! Prices are more than reasonable for the service and value of food and drinks! Portion sizes are perfect and the staff can't do enough for you!! We will definitely be back soon!! Thanks guys!!

Came with my family when they reopened in April and it was brilliant. We sat outside near the bowling green and there was a friendly and lively atmosphere. The staff were also very friendly - offering blankets to us so we weren't too cold!

First time in this pub and it was during the outdoor only phase of covid-19 reopening. Very welcoming, with good explanation of the protocols as you walked through the door. No need to book, when they reach capacity the front door is locked and they will let you in when there's room available outside. Once you're sat down, serving staff will come and take your order and you can pay contactless at your table. Great service, good beer and a nice atmosphere.

I had not been in this pub for a long while due to covid. Only the beer garden was open. It was well organised with lots of tables and seating areas outside. A person took our order and brought it to our table. Great pints of Robinsons ups. The only Robinsons pub in the area. Good friendly staff. Recommended.

A nice pint of Robinsons smooth and good friendly bar staff. A bit pricey, but not as pricey as some nearby. Good bowling green at the back.

I like this pub as it is now the only pub locally which sells Robinson's beer. It is a good traditional pub, selling Robinsons unicorn beer on draught a good clean pint, which I enjoyed. A range of keg beers, and bar snacks. Also they have a traditional pool table,a nd you can play crown green bowls outside.A very friendly and hospitable landlord. A range of great old pictures of Stockport. Well worth popping into.

One of the only Robinson's pubs in the area. The landlord is very friendly and welcoming. Had a pint of Unicorn which was well kept and a good clean pint. Also had a pint of a dark beer which was a keg beer, but still tasted very nice, a decent bottle of Old Toms.A lovely traditional robbies pub, with different rooms. A warm welcome. Well worth visiting.

This is now the only Robinson's pub in the Romiley area. A old fashioned pub, with various rooms. I had a pint of the Robinson's best bitter, a decent beer, which tasted as if it had been well kept, with a clean and good taste. They only now do the one bitter, with none of the seasonal beers and or mild. I also had a bottle of Old Tom's which was brilliant. Had some great pork scratching's.Pleasant and friendly service from the landlord. A good local pub.

Just popped in for a quick drink before meating friends for a meal, nice atmosphere and the lager lovley and fizzy and cold. Nice friendly staff as well.

Went in here for a drink of Robinsons beer with my Dad. Had a pint of unicorn which was well kept and to a good standard, a good comfortable pub, busy. Friendly bar staff, dissapointing they only have one draught Robinsons beer, and no Old Toms, Cannot understand why they do not get old toms in as it keeps in bottles for a long time. Pleasant pub, good pork scratchings.

This boozer has a great location with a bowling green at the back of the pub. The place was quite crowded when we went in with rowdy youths which spilled out into the beer garden too. It did make us feel quite uncomfortable so we drank up quickly and left. Would probably not go back in due to the type of clientele this place attracts.

After visiting a couple of pubs in Romiley on a sunny Saturday afternoon I found this pub the most welcoming and I received a great reception from the landlord and landlady. It is a great friendly local pub, one who I was made to feel very welcome and treated like a guest. I loved the real fires all lit, the warmth and homely feeling of the pub.

tried this as couldnt get in Jakes.....refit is nice, good to see the back room opened up and much less gloomy, nice atmosphere but really feel if the bar was moved this pub would have so much more to offer. Also we went with a group of kids because we had thought there was a basketball hoop at the back...however its barely at small child height which was a great shame as it would have kept our children quiet for ages!!!!

It's just your average boozer, quick service and fairly cheap. Not much good though during the football season, it's always hammered.

Went here on Sunday with the family beautiful little pub with play area outside 4 different rooms one being a pool room other has board and card games all have a TV offering sky sports, also has a bowling green. Clean and welcoming. Was very busy with both city and united playing, great atmosphere. I had a Sunday lunch was only 2 left owner recommended booking in advance as limited covers as they've recently took over and building food reputation up but was delicious, my partner had the beef madras and children had lasagne and fish and chips lovely pub grub and cake deserts were moist and delightful. Great value for money and will be going back highly recommend.

This is a very friendly place. Great staff that make you feel welcome. Hand pulled cask ales with a guest beer each week. Homemade food which is great value for money and very tasty. There is real open fires which makes you feel at home. There's a games room if you want to play pool or darts and a great outside area which is as cosy as the inside. There's a play area for the kids with a slide, swings and climbing area. The back of the building is a crown green bowling area which is great to watch on a sunny afternoon. It's a laid back place where you will feel very welcome and at home.

Great friendly place with some of the best cask ales in the area. A real open fire adds to the warmeth of this quaint pub. The garden at the rear is prefect for a cold drink on a warm day. There is a bowling green at the rear of the building along with a decent size car park.

Great, cosy little pub with fantastic food which is very reasonably priced and a friendly atmosphere. The daily menu is different from your average pub fare and the Sunday roast is excellent; very generous portions and usually a choice of lamb, beef or chicken. I can't recommend the Friendship enough. it's a lovely place to go for lunch or an evening meal or even just to stop in for a drink to get out of the rain. The new management seem to have given the pub a whole new lease of life and all the staff are very friendly.
