Food was amazing and the lovely girl Ellis who served us was amazing

Everything about the March Hare was great. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly. It is a wonderful place to relax and have a meal and a drink. The atmosphere is lovely and it is a lovely clean place. Definitely recommend it.

Terrible from start to finish. Waitress friendly only good thing. Drinks came, mine was wrong. No issue but I told the waitress and she apologised and said she’d go and swap it. 20 minutes later, my drink still hadn’t come back and I couldn’t see the waitress anywhere so had to go up to the bar myself to tell them and get it - not great and it didn’t seem like they were even in the process of sorting it. My husband ordered a starter - soup, which took 40 minutes to come. 45 minutes after the soup had been served (1 hour 30 minutes since arriving), our mains still hadn’t come, so we’ve now been here for an hour and a half and all we’ve had is a bowl of soup. Then a member of staff comes over and says they’ve got mixed up in the kitchen and cooked duck instead of lamb so our food is going to be longer. Not what we wanted to hear after already waiting so long - it’s now 8:45pm and we arrived at 7pm. They got us a drink but that didn’t really solve the issue. Also nobody had been over to us at all before this asking if we needed more drinks or apologising for how long we’d been waiting. Our mains arrived at 8:50pm. Almost TWO HOURS after we arrived. Really, really poor. Not only is it an obscene amount of time to wait, but we didn’t want to be eating a big meal that late. My husband’s lamb was dry and looked like it had just been thrown together and my steak was fatty and missing the roast tomatoes, which I had to get the waitresses attention to ask for. If you’re going to make us wait 2 hours, at least make sure it’s right when it comes out. If we weren’t absolutely starving, we’d have complained about the food, not that anyone came over to ask if we were ok anyway. We would normally get a pudding when out but we just wanted to get out of there. Nobody came over to check how our food was or take our plates, so we had to go up to the bar ourselves to sort the bill out. As I said the waitress was friendly but not very present (looked like she was the only person serving all the tables so not her fault), but it really didn’t make up for the general service and how long we had to wait for a bowl of soup and 2 mains. Also the 2 tables next to us left about 8pm and their dirty plates were just left there for the remainder of time we were there (over 1 hour). Not the nicest thing to look at. This was 1 week ago, I filled in their online survey that they send out asking for feedback. I filled this in and ticked the box that said I wanted to be contacted regarding this experience, but have heard nothing from them so will see if they see this review instead. Another example of the terrible customer service.

Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff were great. Caitlin went the extra mile with everything. Definitely recommend this place. Thanks Caitlin and team 😎👍🏻

Always nice food and a super option for Sunday lunch.

Birthday Lunch for the Boss, Pub was quiet maybe because of the Snow , nice warm welcome & warm inside nice food and a good pint of Neck oil , purely for medicinal purposes to try stave off my cold

Myself and my husband went for dinner for my birthday. We usually love the march hare food and staff but we were really disappointed. The staff seemed stressed although it wasn't busy. My husband wanted a burger to be told there was none due to "ordering issues" but it felt like the staff weren't being honest. My husband then asked for fish and chips and were told they had none of this either. We ordered wine and they brought the wrong one. The starter of scallops and prawns (usually absolutely gorgeous) was clearly microwaved, chewy and tasteless. I had a steak and my husband had the gammon both were again tasteless. We won't be going again I'm afraid

Visited with friends for a pre Christmas meal. Had the festive set menu which was very nice, although they couldn't provide pizza from the kids menu, or mayonnaise which was strange for a Sunday afternoon. It would have been appreciated to have been informed about no pizza at the time of seating before the kids had made their choice. Otherwise a pleasant visit.

Great as usual ..happy friendly atmosphere …good food ..had the chicken schnitzel which was very tasty …one minor fault ..the bacon needs to be crispier

Lovely last minute meal for a large group. First time here and it won’t be the last!!!

Excellent food and really friendly and helpful waitresses.

Previous visits to MH have always been pleasant with good food. Although not busy the bar server also was serving at table, hence bit of a wait until order was taken. A very sticky and wobbly table was an irritation. A wedge was provided however it was wobbly in two planes so we just put up with it . Fish and chips unremarkable, mushy peas really consisted of green water with minimal peas in it . My duck and hoisin pizza was quite simply the worst ‘pizza’ I have ever tasted.Thin dry base , lacking in any moistness /tomato sauce , more like a piece of hard pastry. Complaining would have been pointless as the kitchen clearly thought what was served was suitable . My visit was a treat by my partner and was a huge disappointment….only positive were the drinks which were nice. Notably the quality check was met with my comment “just okay “ was accepted without comment . £ 70 …not good value . We will not return .

Not been back to the March Hare for a long time BUT glad we went back this time. Very nice meal reasonable priced and nicely presented. Will definitely go back again and can definitely recommend. Sorry we haven't been back sooner.

Arrived for a quiet lunch and drink. All was ok, staff good, place clean. Fairly priced though drinks were expensive. Staff were quite attentive.

Food was good and enjoyable. Service was not. Taking orders was slow, and clearing plates should not take 45 minutes. We left after main course, as it was just so slow.

Great dinner and great service will be back.

Lovely friendly staff sam was are server today lovely pleasant lad nothing was to much trouble for him always smiling and asking if we needed anything food was amazing thanks to the cheff didn't need any seasoning as was seasoned to perfection been coming here a few times now and loved it everytime well recommended 😀

Had a lovely Sunday roast at the March Hare. We aren't local to the area so wasnt sure what to expect but we were very pleased with our visit. The portion sizes are great and the kids menu had lots of choice. Our server was Sam and he was very attentive and friendly to our son. Thanks for a great visit

Lovely country inn in Cheadle Hulme. Popped in for lunch after dropping family off at the airport. Food was delicious and reasonably priced, as it has always been. Service outstanding courtesy of Sam doing a sterling job both behind the bar and serving tables. Highly recommended gem off the beaten track. Very cosy environment for a nice autumnal treat. Beer in fine condition too. Will revisit very soon.

Lovely food and cosy atmosphere

Service from Caitlin was excellent, we was out for a birthday and she did a special desert for us which made our day.

Our 3rd Vintage in the last 2 months and the best of the lot. Comfortable pub, excellent food and professional staff. We were served by Caitlin - very polite and friendly. Both my wife’s lasagne and my aubergine gratin were better than any previous Vintage lunches, which were also good by the way. Came here after some retail therapy at John Lewis - very handy. Looking forward to our next visit.

Had the pate as a starter, rather bland and the bread was stale. Fish cakes for the main corse, overcooked, served with under cooked new potatoes and broccoli. Service was slow and the dirty plates were not cleared from the table. My friends food was also poor. The pub is nicely decorated but the food is not worth the money.

WOW. We came in yesterday (Monday 7th) for a nice meal and we were blown away. We had the Garlic Prawns and Chorizo and the Calamari to start. Full of flavour looked gorgeous and definitely worth trying. We then had two Pan Roasted Lambs. Beautifully and perfectly cooked lamb potatoes were golden, crispy and creamy and the pie and veg were hot and flavourful. The chefs have done you proud. Thank You.

Took an hour and 15 mins to get our Sunday dinner, children had finished their meal before adults got their roast dinner, all veg was rock hard and couldn’t cut with dirty knife, meat was ok, had the 3 meat turkey, sirloin and belly pork, no crackling, roast potatoes were par boiled and then slightly roasted, still hard in the centre, one saving grace was Yorkshire pudding which were good, wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t return, not the most expensive at just shy of £20 a head however I’ve had cheaper and it’s been much nicer, avoid

Lovely lunch yesterday It was a very wet day so hardly any others there hence I haven't rated atmosphere but food and service were excellent. I had the seabass and it was gorgeous. Always my first choice from a menu Thanks Alex for your high standard of service

Second try at the march hare as my friend said the Sunday lunch is really nice ,, so I gave it another go , well what can I say , either I keep going when the chef has had a bad day !or it’s just rubbish , i ordered beef , I got bits of stringy beef full of fat , also cooked within there life parsnips, all burnt , and the roast potatoes were greasy and not crispy at all , the veg wasn’t much better , the Yorkshire pudding looked ok ,but I didn’t eat it as I was totally put off the whole meal , I told one of the staff and they got it replaced, but by this time I was just pissed off with the whole thing. , I won’t be giving it another go ,,,

Nick was a top server. Very full and happy. Great place to eat and the Sunday roast is always top

Jess went above and beyond whist me and my friend were in enjoying a relaxed Sunday afternoon. The bar snacks were so tasty and when my friend spilt his pint, Jess was immediately on hand for clean up (no broken glass) I’d of made him clean up but that’s me. Will come again without a doubt. Great atmosphere and music is very calming.

Oval table for six. Service ok but not outstanding. Similarly for the food. Prices about as expected, about £225 for starters, mains and drinks (only two drinking alcohol). We were there on a Sunday afternoon and it was very busy. Tables close together where we were and people kept squeezing past on both sides. Not great, but otherwise fairly good atmosphere.

Lovely food, we had sea bass and baoffee choux bun. Friendly, helpful staff and nice decor.

Popped into the pub recently and was served by a lovely young man called Joe. The service was excellent and Joe was really friendly and helpful. He showed us the food menu but as we were just passing we did not have time for food but noted the menu for when we call in again.

We had a lovely time with friends at The March Hare. Very friendly staff, excellent food and lovely atmospher. Joe the bar man was very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to our next visit.

Sat outside at the front in the garden, not wheelchair friendly but managed to get my mum to a table. We had bar bites which were lovely. Friendly staff n a nice chilled atmosphere.

The food here is absolutley phenomenal. I am still eating as i write this review because i couldnt hold off. We ordered the mushrooms stasrter and the sticky chicken starter along with halloumi fries and i can not complain what so ever. We have ordered the curry and the steak sandwhich for the mains and theyre both cooked to perfection. The two barmen who are here are both friendly and very well presented. We will be coming back again beautiful atmosphere staff and food. 10/10 on everything

Found this lovely place online! Didn’t even know it existed. Lovely atmosphere and we had Lily as our server. Lily was brilliant. Made sure everything was fine with the food whilst dealing with her other tables. One thing I would say about the roast dinners is maybe cook the carrots and broccoli a little more they were just a bit on the hard side (I like mine a little softer) but overall, amazing pub, lovely food, lovely atmosphere. Will definitely come back and bring some family members too.

I came to The March Hare on the 26th July with my husband. We chose a table and then I went to the bar for drinks, I was greeted by one of your bartenders who introduced himself as Joe. He was very polite and went through the drinks you served and suggested a few drinks that I might like. After choosing what I wanted and getting my husbands drink he said he would bring them over to the table so I could sit down. Amazing service whilst we were there and would definitely come back again.

Delicious dinner and good service! We had a bottle of red wine that was really nice, and the oven roasted mushrooms to start which were fabulous. For dinner, my husband had a pepperoni pizza and I had the pie of the day which were both filling, good quality ingredients, and tasty! A few people at our table had the lasagne too and said it was really good. Would definitely go back as we loved the cozy ambiance too!

I live in America and the last couple times I’ve visited my family we’ve come here for dinner. The drinks and food have been delicious each time! Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend! :)

We keep passing the March Hare and today we thought we would call in for Sunday Dinner. Pub is a hidden gem, it's well signposted but the pub itself is at the bottom of a road. We like the old beams, open fires and the different lelvels. The food was good and our server Lily was great. Her and the team made us feel welcome.

Absolutely disappointed with the food and service, it was our anniversary and booked a table and the mains took over 50mins and arrived cold after we asked how long it would be!! This is the second time we have been we went back in February and the service and food was poor but we thought give it another go! Never again! Had to come home and order just eat! Which turned up quicker and hotter and cost less!!!

Really lovely pub, great choice of nice food ar a very reasonable price especially ially using the "special midweek menu" we got the garlic prawns, garlic mushrooms, and fish and chips to share. All delicious and staff very attentive and polite.

Here, Fish App Chips is the best restaurant in Stockport Manchester. I had a great time eating Madri beer and fish app chips with my friend.

Had a really nice time at the March hare for lunch. Caitlin and Jess were superb! We had the fish and chips, beautifully cooked, credit to the chefs!
