Fantastic food, amazing Sunday roast. Great staff and a fabulous Landlady. I am booked in for the Christmas meal with two groups already. We do this every year and it is always lovely 😻 Well done Collette and your team ❤️

Nice pub and the staff are very nice but disappointed as I’ve come here 3 times now for the Kareoke and always put a request in but it seems the regulars end up getting to sing all night and I never get to have a go even tho I request a song at the start of the night and when I ask the lady says it won’t be long and never puts me and my friends songs on :(

Not been in for a while but we stopped off on Saturday night for a quick drink,the bar staff were amazing so friendly,it had a really good atmosphere about it, definitely be calling again. Called in for lunch today 14/8/24 and it was gorgeous 100% recommend here, I'll definitely be calling for food again ❤️xx

We booked this to hold a funeral wake and the team were fantastic they made a difficult day the best it could be.

Last minute visit for Sunday lunch. Did call in advance which was needed as it was very popular. Loved that the only choice was Sunday lunch as this meant service was spot on and quality excellent. As for portion sizes, wow! Huge! We ordered medium size and to be honest, I’d order small next time or even share the medium for 2! Smashing traditional, no fuss pub. Highly recommend and supporting local felt good

I have enjoyed Strawberry Gardens with friends for a couple of years and have always been happy with the service and food.

Lovely lunch with friends. Great value . Booked for Sunday lunch! The car park is free for customers you don’t need to pay as it states, you just put your registration in at the bar /machine.

The Strawberry Gardens is a cosy pub located in the centre of Stockport. The carpark is free, but you must register your car registration at the bar. Failure to do this could result in a £100 fine. The pub offers a wide drinks range, including hot drinks. The alcoholic beverages are of usual price, but the soft drinks are rather expensive, especially as they do not even come in pint glasses. There is a quiz on Wednesday evenings. Entry is free, and you also get a free chip butty. As quizzes go, this one is fun and entertaining. There is also a karaoke night on Fridays. The staff are friendly and professional. The pub also serves food. I haven't tried any of their meals myself, but I've not heard any complaints from those who have eaten here. In all a nice pub to visit.

Lovely roast. Thickly sliced meat, amazing value for money compared to anything similar. What makes it for me is that the staff (chefs) bring it out to you at your table with a real sense of ownership and pride which is very reassuring as a customer. They seem proud to put a ‘face to the plate’. Go regularly now for good reason. You’d have to spend twice / three times as much to improve on it to be honest.

Cracking Pub. Love it and so does my Mum 😂 foods fantastic.

We had the scampi which was soggy the chips were frozen or recooked the homemade steak and ale pie was very good.

We have had meals and drinks at this pub/ restaurant on a few occasions and never had a bad meal. However this time there were a couple of dogs in the eating area, one of which was quite big and every now and again would let out a very loud bark. We are ok with pets in pubs, but not in the eating areas please, it is quite off putting.

Had 2 course Christmas lunch today which was delicious and plenty of it . Traditional lunch and home made trifle was just gorgeous. My friends all had different pudding and all said the same, gorgeous. Thanks so much to the friendly staff for a lovely afternoon.

Had a family Christmas get together and a Christmas dinner. Very friendly staff and atmosphere ...food amazing and good value...they do smaller portions which is great for children and people with small appetites. The decor was amazing..overall a great experience and would recommend 👌

Great pub and staff are very friendly. We've had food here once before and it was great. We have tried many more times since but never been successful. One time there was a function on, next time they didn't do food on a Monday, next time they were only taking cash, next time they stopped serving food at 4.45 and it was 5, next time they were serving food but the chef wasn't taking anymore orders and tried again today and they're not doing food!

1st time visiting this pub. Got a large Sunday dinner it was beautiful the portion sizes were massive, had 3 different types of meat with my dinner and couldn't fault any of it. Will definitely be returning

Cheese and onion pie was just mash with few bits of onion, dry and had short crust as a topping. Service was great but food a let down.

Had my hen part here, atmosphere was amazing due to my friend being the entertainer, now for the cons, ordered £200 worth of buffet food which consisted of 2 plates of sandwiches, bowl of chips, 2 thin crust pizzas, medium plate of chicken nuggets and small plate of chicken wings, when I went to speak to the manager about it she had left, even bar staff commented on it, I rang to speak to manager the following day to be told she had done me a favour as it should have been £250 🤬🤬🤬🤬 NEVER ORDER A BUFFET FROM HERE !!!!

Went today for my birthday. Looking forward to Sunday roast. Unfortunately no vegetarian option at all so had go else where. These days every where as a veg option. Do you cater for food allergy ? Shame it spoilt my day today. Went home had a take out which catered for every food preference.

We regularly go in for the quiz the staff are friendly and the bar is well stocked, and a good atmosphere 👍

We've started coming here on a Friday night for a few drinks,it's always so welcoming,the landlady is always so friendly,they have fantastic entertainment,I can highly recommend calling in.

Small but good range keg beer (no "real ale") with a larger array of lagers. Simple, but well prepared food at a very competitive price however, food is only served until 6:45pm and so is more suited for lunch. The pub has a huge, secluded beer garden with a large number of tables and a play area for children, ideal for summer evenings. The pub shows live football on multiple screens, has live music at weekends and quiz and poker nights during the week.

Early Christmas lunch at this venue and wasn't disappointed. Fabulous food and they cater for smaller portions too. Staff also welcoming. The festive atmosphere was also great with best upside down tree I've seen. Hoping to go again soon.

Brilliant night there for Defunct,they were perfect host and the chip buttys were great.

Called in here today for food. I had the dipping combo platter as I like variety. Service and food was good. There were a few other diners there, who were obviously regular diners as the member of staff: 1. reminded them to put their car registration in the machine to avoid a fine (didn't tell me) 2. checked with them that their food was ok (didn't ask me) 3. When she cleared my plate my glass was almost empty but she didn't ask if I wanted another drink or dessert. I was going to have another pint and possibly a dessert but I felt like I was a complete outsider apart from the 2 ladies sat at the next table who were friendly.

We Don't normally leave 2 reviews for the same place as its often difficult to get consistency in good quality food. We have now been coming to Strawberry Gardens for 2 months , Originally recommend to us by our lovely new neighbours in Hazel Grove, and we have been bringing our family and friends ever since , all which agree this is a Sunday Lunch above all other Pub Sunday lunches . The Landlady is so lovely and really cares about what people think about her home cooked food. In the Hospitality world of " Quantity over Quality" , this lunch is an exception to the rule. The meat beef, chicken or pork is top quality & always really tender, a variety of well cooked veg , Roast and Mash potatoes A Beautiful homemade Yorkshire Pudding (not yr frozen rubbish) and a delicious gravy to finish it off, all served on a HOT plate, makes this the best pub Sunday lunch we have had. Bar staff always helpful warm and welcoming. I challenge any pub to beat this lunch on quality taste and price. Thank you guys 😋😋😋😋

A friendly, cosy and beautiful, old worldy pub, with good facilities and disabled access. The locals and staff really gave all an inviting welcome. The singer Keira Ashiraf for Saturday 24/09/22, really was the best I've heard at any social gathering! I would highly recommend her!!! Not only talented but an amazing host for the evening inviting all to join in for a brilliant Saturday night. The atmosphere was infectiously enjoyable!!! I recommend the pub and singer to all.

Popped in whilst travelling past. Amazing food, friendly service and lovely pub. The beef wrap was INCREDIBLE. Beef so full of flavour and literally melt in the mouth. Gravy was epic and chips so good too. Kids loved the nuggets and fries and other family members had the roasts. Apparently the best roasts they have had in 15yrs. Proper home cooked food, roasts AND mash and veg that tasted like proper veg! Again epic gravy! Family live over half an hour away but will defo travel again for another visit. 5 stars and more! Thank you so much!!!

16 of us went for lunch on 26th July . Our party consisted of elderly some with mobility issues. We all had a lovely meal the atmosphere was great and staff friendly. Can't wait to go again.

1st visit today for Sunday lunch. Friendly staff, had the beef and chicken dinners (3 large and a medium) great value/portion size and absolutely delicious, could not fault any element of this roast, best gravy we ever had in any pub. Will definitely be back . Thanks to Chef and staff.

Attended a wedding there, they dressed it beautifully and the Roast beef dinner was perfect!

We were there for the socialmusicradio.uk weekender. It's a great friendly pub with a nice big garden . The Sunday lunches were to die for . Amazing value for money. Collette still owes all a round. Maybe next year :).

The pub is much bigger on the inside than it looks from the exterior. Friendly bar staff. The beer garden is lovely in a leafy setting. Great for children and dogs. We had niether though so opted to eat inside. As it was very busy outside. We ordered some food. A starter platter which was very hot but was nice. Followed by hot dog and fries for my husband and chilli with half rice half chips for me. All the food was very hot because the plates were really hot, but the chilli i had was obviously heated up in the microwave to a ridiculous temperature then put on a red hot plate. God knows what the temperature was 20 minutes after my husband had finished his. I was still trying to eat it. Had blisters on the roof of my mouth. The chilli itself wasnt that nice not keen of the added sweetcorn. So when you can't afford energy prices i recomend you order food here so you can spend a good half an hour warming yourself from the heat of the meals.

It's a shame about the parking charges.

This was our first visit to the Strawberry Gardens and as we have been looking for dog friendly pubs we thought we’d give it a try. Our pooch has severe separation anxiety and it has certainly curtailed our social life. However, this pub is just great and we were made most welcome. George our dog lay under the table out of the way, until the waiter spilt some chilli on the floor when he made a first class job of licking it all up. The menu was very varied and the food was lovely, very tasty with a choice of small or standard portions which is great when you are older and don’t have the appetite you once had. Clean plates all round and the best cup of coffee in Stockport to finish off the meal. It is certainly somewhere that will become a regular haunt, the staff were lovely and friendly and George was more than welcome. This establishment also has a lovely ambiance and a large car park. Just remember to register your car registration on entering the pub so you won’t be charged parking fee.

Fantastic pub. Don't let the car park put you off just remember to enter your reg plate on entry.

I recently visited her after a good recommendation, but if I’m totally honest I was absolutely appalled by the staff and how rude they was!! I politely complained about my food as unfortunately there was hair in it!!!!! This was not delt with in a professional manner! Resulted in me leaving and wasting my money!! I would avoid here as there just Ill Mannered and need to sort there hygiene out..

I never write bad reviews but I feel the need to on this occasion.. I went into this pub with my family and the tables were sticky and dirty and the toilets were absolutely disgusting. I spoke to a guy behind the bar to let them know and they got the manager and I have never spoken to a women so rude in my life! I would not let my dog eat from there knowing what the cleanliness is like.. as for the rude staff I’m shocked you are allowed to work there!

In relationship to the fines given by parking eye on the 17th and 18th April 2022 they have all been cancelled and letters of confirmation are being sent out..This was nothing to do with the pub but an error by parking eye which has been amended

Friendly Pub that serves good home made food. Good selection of drinks for all the family. Plenty of room inside and out, with the beer garden being a great sun trap in the late afternoon and evening. They are hoping as the pub gets busier to introduce a Cask Ale, which would be a great addition.

Ordered 2 pints for me and my 13 year old son . Barstaff drop kicked my son and threw me over fruit machine. Son has a severe knee problem and wobbled home crying. Safe to returning

Colette & her team at "The Straw" are always welcoming & helpful. From a friendly pint & a meal, up to group bookings & events, such as bike shows. Has a large car park & beer garden, a small park for kids to play on & a bouncy castle, if memory serves me well.
