Out for a spontaneous midweek Italian with my partner. We were greeted warmly and ordered some pre meal drinks. I noticed the table wasn't particularly clean and the furniture is generally tired. There were spiders webs and dust on the walls. So my impressions were not well furnished or clean. The ambience wasn't what I was expecting from the frontage of the restaurant as this is more of a café mostly noted as the drinks were plonked down on the cloth-less table and we were bluntly advised the kitchen was closing soon so if we could 'hurry with our order'. I'm sorry but if the kitchen is closing you could argue why we have sat down in the first place, you instantly feel rushed and unwelcome and we should've left. It was 8pm may I add and I thought this was a restaurant? Therefore the ambience is nonexistent nor very relaxing and as is so typical of restaurants in this area it is very much a 'get in' and 'get out' place. I didn't expect a fine dining experience but if you are paying to eat out you shouldn't feel rushed like the restaurant are doing you the favor for allowing you to eat there. When the waitress (Who was pleasant) took our order the front of house man came again to the table and said the 'kitchens closing soon' at which point I felt like saying well why did you sit us down and what more can I possibly do to speed up this process? I am placing my order and I've been in here for little over 10 minutes. On most days at this point I would've literally just paid for the drinks and left. The food was pretty average but not desperate, the Muscles were bland with too much sauce and the pasta dishes were 'claggy' and had been over flavored with oregano herbs to some tune to which I could've done better in my own kitchen. I really went in to Avanti hoping a long established restaurant of the Moor would come up with the goods but sadly it's not for me and I wouldn't return.

There was 6 at our table All had starters / mains / desert / drinks 2 different steaks ordered 2 different seafood dishes ordered 1 past dish 1 vegetarian All courses were excellent. In fact I would say my fillet steak was one of the best I’ve ever had. Everyone was very happy with there food . We will be back.

Dripping in grease from the starter to the main, service was also shocking. Lots of better, more reasonably priced restaurants in the local area. We will never be returning.

Fourteen friends had a perfect start to a cinema visit when we visited Avanti. Chico the manager had suggested we pre order our menu choices as he knew we would be short of time, as we needed to leave the restaurant at 6.30pm, and this would speed things up. On our arrival he was very welcoming and brought jugs of water and took our drinks order. The waitress was very friendly and experienced and brought the drinks together with some garlic bread, followed soon after by the food orders. All were very impressed by the presentation and amazing, very tasty food. Chico made the smooth start to our evening a huge success.....so if you are thinking of incorporating a meal either before or after visiting The Savoy cinema, or any other time, I and thirteen others would definitely recommend Avanti.

Came to Avantis for my aunts leaving party and had a great time with delicious food. There were maybe 12 or so of us and we pretty much dominated the restaurant, along with another group which was quite fun. To begin with they brought out this kinda sour dough cheesy garlic bread, which was fantastic, they even offered to pepper out pizzas with a giant pepperer. Next, was my Sea-bass main! Much more than I thought I was gonna get, cooked almost perfectly (I would have liked the skin even more crispier), it had crispy skin and was wonderfully cooked. The dill and lemon cream (I think it was called) HEAVEN… I tried my aunts friends mushroom risotto, which was also very nice, my aunts vegetarian dish also looked very appetising. Overall, nice wine, great food and great service. Would come again.

Best night for a long time. This cosy, atmospheric restaurant is a jewel in the crown. There was a large group of us. The Red Hatters of stockport, ladies of a certain age, who collectively go out there and sample the finest of the finest in terms of eateries. It’s our raisin d’être. And this for me personally was very fine. Rare ribeye steak was spot on. Presented beautifully too. Vegetables al dente and so tasty. Peppercorn sauce flavoursome and plentiful. Everybody so friendly and accommodating. Including the kitchen staff. I’ll be back for sure. The staff were all so lovely. One server, Niamh, couldn’t do enough for us. A powerful engaging front line of this wonderful restaurant. The manager (I think it was) was great fun. The funniest moment was when I demanded the already partly full tip box so I could pass it round our table. When I think back I realise how ridiculous that looked!!! You know pinching their tips!!? I realise they knew I wasn’t going to run away with it. But that is how relaxed the night was. I’m still mellow. Mmmmm. It was that good. Thank you Avanti. (And beautiful Niamh. Visited yesterday for my friend’s birthday. The food was exceptional, the staff couldn’t have been more attentive and the vibe was wonderful. I will definitely be back- I had the rib-eye- best steak I've had in years and cooked to perfection. And the garlic tomato bread! Yummmmm! 5 stars from me! Independently run and charming. Can’t recommend highly enough! 👏👏 Thank you for a great night

Ordered a take out, ordered a salmon pasta and came with prawns instead of salmon so when I rang I was offered my next order on the house. Came to my next order and was wrong again, when I rang to ask what fish I had just eaten the manager said “don’t ring this number again”. Awful service

A nice birthday family meal spoiled by the conduct and attitude of the boss, who was rude and inappropriate. Having been gifted an unsolicited Sambucca shot with a dessert as a birthday surprise we were even more surprised to see that the shot had been added to the bill - which we assumed was a mistake. We were told that Sambucca is expensive and had to ask, twice, for the charge to be refunded. Eventually the money was handed back and we were rudely told to ‘keep the change’. He clearly thought it was ok to supply and charge for goods we hadn’t ordered - it’s a first for us and an all time restaurant low - beware, and be sure to check your bill!

Went last evening, 6 people at 8pm. The restaurant wasn’t busy with only 4 or 5 tables in use. 2 of the party had arrived a couple of minutes before and ordered drinks however the rest of us had to ask to order drinks 5 minutes after the menus arrived. After starters the table was cleared promptly, however we weren’t asked if we would like more drinks, so had to chase. The mains arrived in fair time and were good; nothing special but good. After the table was cleared the waiting staff seemed to disappear. By this time, around 9:45 there was only one other table occupied, however no one came to ask if we would like dessert or coffee and it was virtually 10pm before we were able to find someone to pay the bill, even though a couple of us had been standing whilst the one waitress popped in and out of the kitchen. In the end my husband had to go to the bar to ask to pay!!! Really very disappointing. We won’t be going back anymore based on this visit.

Early dinner to celebrate my daughter’s birthday Interesting specials 3 of us had the mussels from the specials that were nice but could have been warmer My wife had the chicken stuffed with goats cheese she said was the nicest meal she has had at Avanti which is high praise from her! I had the Penne Arrabiatta which was good but a little strange to have sliced pepperoni in it All in all a good meal with good service Remains one of our favourite Moor restaurants

My friend and I went to Avanti for tea tonight. I ordered fillet steak with potatoes and veg and peppercorn sauce. It was the best meal I've had in ages (and I stayed at a 5 star hotel last week!) Yum yum compliments to the chef. The owner is really nice too. If you're looking for a good Italian, look no further than Avanti.

We had been told about Avanti from some friends and thought we would try it out. So happy we did. The food is so good, you can tell there is passion in the kitchen. We had the ribs in a southern italian sauce which was insanely good. The meat fell off the bone and the sauce was the nicest rib sauce I have ever tasted. We also had the garlic bread which was perfectly cooked. Everything was packaged well and still hot when we got it home. Highly recommend. We will be dining in once we feel it is safe to do so, however I have heard they are taking every safety measure advised, we just prefer not to eat out for now.

Great at last to be able to go to a restaurant. Avanti was laid out well and staff had masks. Felt safe and the food was it’s usual high standard They will reinstate the Specials shortly which will be another step back to normality Go there it’s safe, we’ll run and the food is lovely

Excellent takeaway on the re launch. Starters- Goats Cheese Crostini and Garlic Bread with Cheese Main Course- Pollo Milanese and Penne Bolognese Dishes all of quality standard.

We have had the goats cheese, meat balls, salmon linguine and chicken in lemon sauce. Unfortunately we had to eat it at home rather than in our favourite restaurant due to lockdown. The food was hot, delicious and matched the quality of the food in the restaurant. Hopefully we will be able to eat in the restaurant soon but for now we will definitely be using the take away service. Many thanks to the staff.

Service very slow apart from bottles of wine which came fast... I guess they want to to buy more wine.No customer service from the owner, very curt and not friendly at all.Plates not cleared from table for at least 20 mins after we had finished and I had to ask for him to clear them.When I asked how long the mains would be after waiting 55 mins for starters he rudely said he had only just clear starter plates, but they had been ready to clear 20 mins earlier, very rude man.8 of us had fillets steaks. Very good size but all we cooked wrong... all over cooked. I asked for medium/pink and it came well done no pink. I asked for English mustard and they gave it to me a sauce and charged for a sauce. God knows why they Would have thought I wanted English mustard as a sauce to go with the steak. A friend ordered a mushroom sauce To go with his steak,it was just a peppercorn sauce with mushrooms chopped up in it or that’s what it tasted like. The steaks were spoilt it was a shame all overcooked.Very disappointing experience it could’ve been made up if the if the waiting staff and boss acted like they enjoyed the jobs And were a lot more customer focused.I’ll be going back to Piccolinos as the customer service is excellent and the steaks are good all the food is good.

I visit here about 3 times a year, and the food and service is always brilliant. My most recent visit was with my parents to celebrate my Mum's Birthday. It was fairly pointless handing me a menu, as I know exactly what I will be ordering....Same as always! 'Carnivora' pizza, topped with spicy meatballs, pepperoni, smoked ham and red onions. The quality of the ham is really noticable, and as always the pizza is perfectly cooked, with a nice thin base. I can't recomment any of the deserts or starters as the main course is always enough to fill me up so I never order anything else. Service is always really friendly, the staff seem to genuinely enjoy working there. Looking forward to my next visit already.

As a regular visitor to this restaurant, always a pleasure. Each time we go, I love to be surprised with the specials menu, absolute delight with masterchef overtones.The staff are alwys attentive and the owner, Chico always there to welcome and also to bid a fond farewell. Make sure you book in advance to secure a table.

We have just eatern at Avanti for the second time. On both occasions the food was good. However, it would appear that regardless of whether or not the restaurant is busy, you have to be very relaxed about when you receive your food and drink and when tables are cleared. Attentiveness is not the restaurant's strond suit as far as I can see.

Really nice Italian, classic, not modern, cream in the carbonara type, but all cooked fresh and tasty. Lovely staff very helpful. Would recommend x

We visited as a family group of 9. The staff were great as four of us were delayed for nearly an hour due to bad traffic. They did not rush us and let us sit while we waited. The food was great with large portion sizes. We had a variety of pizza and pasta dishes and everyone was impressed. Highly recommend

Really impressed with this delightful place. The food was amazing - absolutely loved the bell pepper risotto. Beautifully presented, compliments to the chef for this delicious lacto-vegetarian dish. The highlight of the night was the oretty waitress who has the most incredible customer service skills and was atrentuve, informative and fun. Thank you, Nicole! Really great night. Very good visit to this local Italian in Heaton Moor on a Friday evening. The restaurant wasn't as busy as a previous visit but the service and food were excellent.

A friend and I called on the off chance of getting a table after visiting the Savoy Cinema. Never been before and had no idea what to expect. I had the Spaghetti Bolognaise and my friend had the Risotto and we shared a side of cheesy garlic bread. The food was lovely! Also just a mention that the waitress who served us was extremely friendly too! I will definitely recommend to family and friends

Mike and I visited Avanti for dinner tonight and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was really tasty, fresh and well prepared. The service was excellent and the atmosphere very relaxing. We will definitely be returning.

Booked table for 9 for teenage daughter’s birthday at this lovely family owned restaurant. They all remarked on how great the food was and had a brilliant evening. It was very popular with most tables occupied from early on, but plenty of attentive, friendly staff. Very reasonably priced, vibrant atmosphere, a perfect evening.

Booked a table for Saturday evening not been for a while. Once again the staff welcomed us and gave us a choice of tables quickly brought us menus and left us to decide ordered wine and requested the cork as we don’t very often drink a full bottle no problem. Ordered our food and very quickly our starter of garlic bread with cheese arrived piping hot with lots of hot runny cheese delicious. Then are mains hot nicely presented and very tasty , full now no room for sweet. The staff were friendly efficient and helpful, clearing tables serveing food and drinks with a smile.Theres a full menu and a few specials , good wine list. Tables are close together not a lot of room for pushchairs they do have highchairs. No car park as such but lots of on road parking .

Simply the best most consistently good restaurant ever - 6 years we have been coming here and never once had anything to complain about. Great menu with weekly changing specials and alway always superb

Visited here on Good Friday, table of 4 and really enjoyed it - Was a first time visit and I'd definitely go back. I had the fish cakes followed by Pollo alla Milanese, which was delicious. The cheesecake was also amazing, highly recommended.

My party of 4 all had either full blown food poisoning or upset stomaches after eating here. The atmosphere is terrible. The old Italian guy who I assume owns the place is miserable and rude.

You get a better choice at Wetherspoons and a better pizza at Pizza Express. So disappointed with the choices on the menu and was surprised at the prices considering it looks like a cheap Cafe. Only fancied the 8oz Fillet Steak but not at £28! We would have left but we'd just got our bottle of wine. We were 50 minutes before we got our starter, which was Garlic Bread with Cheese and I ordered Calzone which was rock hard with Bolognese sauce and it was way, way too salty and I only manged about 30% of it before I could eat no more. My partner ordered a pasta dish which likewise was so smothered it salt it was inedible. After complaining it was far too salty the pasta dish was taken off the bill. The blonde haired waitress was really understanding and she informed the manager. taking the dish into the back with him but the manager hovered about the restaurant for the rest of our evening making sure to avoid us.

A very straight forward place where me and my partner like to visit on a regular basis. The staff are always friendly and attentive, it's always worth trying whichever special they have on as I am yet to be disappointed.

Went for Sunday tea for first time in ages. We were early so not busy. Starters were good with her indoors having chicken skewers off the specials and me the meatballs. For main we both had pasta, her linguine and me penne arrabiata

Whilst away for the weekend we fancied a good Italian meal and came across this little gem and wasn't disappointed.

Very friendly staff. Nice spacious restaurant. Delicious food. Lots of choice. Every table was full which is very reassuring when looking for somewhere to eat.

We arrived on time, greeted very nicely, ordered drinks, then waited 20 minutes before our order was taken for starters. The starters arrived 20 minutes later, my husband's starter was lovely, garlic mushrooms, I ordered Bruschetta, when it arrived, it looked like 3 halves of very thin bread, I am not sure if it was toasted or just very stale, with a few chopped tomatoes on top. It tasted like stale bread with unripened tomatoes, not very nice at all, so I obviously sent it back. The mains was very nice, but we had been in the place almost an hour before we started eating the mains. Then when the bill arrived, I was shocked to see they had not deducted the Bruschetta, when I queried the bill, the waitress said "Oh, did you not want to pay for the starter". I was so angry, I had to keep my mouth shut. No I will not be going there again, it was even worse than the first time I went.

First visit for me.......but this is my daughters regular restaurant.Staff and service excellent........I ordered Lasagne....it was the best i have ever tasted!!!!!The house wine was very good..........all in all a wonderful evening....will be back!!!!!!!!!

Comimos aquí tan a menudo como podamos y la comida y el servicio es siempre 100%. El personal va más allá con el servicio y la comida es la mejor de la zona con una feliz milla. Aunque el propietario chicco el siempre venir para charlar sobre si él es y su acogedor y relajado. Se llena de gente los fines de semana, así que reserva es recomendable. No puedo recomendar este lugar, cada cosa es cocinado a la perfección siempre.

Hemos estado yendo a Avanti durante años (probablemente al menos cada 4 semanas), ya que es nuestro restaurante más cercano y disfrutar de la comida italiana. Acepto que no pasamos una gran cantidad de dinero. Sin embargo, el personal no son tan buenas. La mejor camarera es el pelo oscuro ligeramente mayores señora que al menos parece reconocer que ella nos ha visto antes. No hay 'hola' cuando llegue y nadie parece notarlo cuando te marchas. Es todo muy superficial, todos con su comida, los chicos y la inclinación es decir 'no' para ver si hay alguna reacción! Cuando una gran mesa de huéspedes llegan parece que tienen un trato preferencial.

Tuvimos una comida muy agradable, era la segunda vez que hemos estado es un poco pequeño pero la comida es buena, las costillas de arranque son geniales, mi amiga dijo que la mejor que ha tenido costillas, teníamos chuletón que fue perfecto, el servicio y el personal era muy bueno, volvería.

Fecha de noche con la esposa, personal encantador y la comida era buena. El lugar en sí podría hacer una renovación. Es limpio, pero las necesidades en los tiempos modernos arrastrando. No mucho de un ambiente que fue una lástima.

Always liked Avanti, comfortably the best Italian in the Heaton's and the pizz and the pasta rarely go wrong. It's often been let down by relatively indifferent service but we went back again for another birthday and the main young woman serving us could not have been better - sorry, I don't know your name but you're the taller one, brown hair, it was my son's birthday and he wanted to share his birthday cake - you were fantastic from start to finish and made it easy. The food, we had the pollo Milanese (impossible to eat alone and comfortably 3,000 caloaries but great), a Greek salad, lamb and pizza - all done well, without fuss and served with a smile. A great early evening.

We booked to have an early evening meal at this restaurant having never visited before.We were very impressed with the service and the fact that you have a view of the kitchen to observe the preparation of the meals!The staff were attentive and friendly.I can recommend the ribs for starter which were delicious!!! and I would highly recommend the Lingiune al Gamberetti.... the best prawns and calamari I've tasted in a long time!,,Would definitely return!!!Cheryl(Denton)

Tom and Jan were recommended Avanti as a restaurant to visit, so off we went. The staff were attentive and polite. Drinks were ordered a very boring lime and soda for me, As driver for the night. Their barbecue ribs fabulous, lasagna tasty and the cheesecake a real must

We booked here for Valentine's. The food was absolutely gorgeous; unfortunately the service let the place down. We found the waitress who served us very rude and abrupt. Did not say anything when taking the plates away.Asked if we would like black pepper and parmesan which we did. We waited 5 minutes for this as she decided to serve somebody else their food first. Told me that they did not have any of the dessert left i wanted and despite me saying i didn't want anything else insisted on me looking at the dessert menu again by shoving it in my face. The waitress who served us definitely did not make us feel welcome, shame we won't return because of this as the food was spot on.

Visited as a three-generation party of seven to celebrate 77th birthday. Service was friendly and efficient. Food spanned the generation gap - pizza to steak via pasta; all delicious, substantial portions.A superb bonus to a 100 mile round trip (Wirral to Stockport) to visit family.

Just visited for a birthday meal there were 17 of us and the service and food were fantastic. Everybody enjoyed their meals from ribs and pate for starters to the steak or pasta for mains all good food

This is a decent enough place. We took pizzas, the mushroom risotto and the spaghetti with meatballs. The pasta and the risotto were definitely better than the pizzas, which had a softish base. The service was OK, with a new and slightly nervous waitress, but the manager constantly checked to make sure all was OK. Overall a good experience at £71 for the 4 of us including 2 glasses of wine and 2 beers.

Came for an early dinner to celebrate my daughters 17th birthday. It was just after the Christmas and new year period and a Tues Eve but was still pleasantly busy. Food was good - tasty but very rich. We loved the garlic breads and ribs as starters and the pasta mains completed the meal. We couldn't even squeeze in a dessert. Good value too. Great to have a safe bet on the doorstep for local eating out.

Italian food is excellent and does English food which is equally as good, good atmosphere and staff very friendly

When we had a meal here and I found the atmosphere to be good and the house red wine was very good, perhaps there is some kind of connection here? The down side was the meat balls I ordered, I found bits of gristle and a piece of bone! They must use low quality mince and this made me think about the quality of other ingrediants being used. They must up their game if they wish to compete with other good resteraunts now in the Heatons.

Lovely food, great atmosphere and attentive staff. Kid friendly even with our rabble. Prawn linguini was amazing.

Went midweek with a group of friends. Really good, attentive and friendly service and lovely well priced nice Italian food. We had homemade garlic bread with tomato to start and spaghetti polpette - great.I'd say it's more cafe style than posh restaurant but great place for casual dining.

Sat night should be buzzing - 75% empty no atmosphere at all - staff nice but didn't ask if we were happy with everything at any time during the meal Chef & management don't seem to care from what we saw - gents toilets dirty and handle broken so the loo was full not nice - we all know if the toilets are poor then whats happening behind the scene's ??? My slow cooked lamb must have been microwaved (the steam from the meat made it so obvious and the skin stuck to the meat and it was still cooking on my plate) - it was just edible but I didn't make a fussThis is only the 2nd here for us and the last time was just as poor so won't be returning - looks like the general feeling is mutual looking from the empty tables... needs an uplift from the cooking and real care for the customers I'm afraid

Meals were ok - checked the bill a couple of days later and was charged 6.95 for a 11 month old baby small portion of pasta with tomato sauce. We ate early whilst the restaurant was quiet.

We have been customers of Avanti since the opening and have never had a bad experience, the staff and ambience are good, but we visited early evening this week with our family of five. We ordered meatballs and spaghetti for the children and frankly they were inedible, we complained and the staff agreed there was a problem. I had ordered chicken linguine and it contained four pieces of reconstituted chicken which you buy from the supermarket, all our dishes were not authentic Italian,each dish had the same tasteless tomato sauce, Chico you have taken your eye off the ball.

This is our favourite restaurant and the food is always excellent. We go as a couple and on family visits and the service is always first class. They always cater for my dietary needs and mussels, chicken and fish are my favourite. Food is always freshly prepared and hot. Always recommend to people I know.

A group of six went for my daughters birthday.Lovely meal, lovely staff, great ambiance.Would definitely recommend, all food freshly cooked and delicious Very reasonably priced.

We chose this restaurant as we had once tried to get in and found it was full; it had looked OK and was really very near where our friend lives, so we had asked her to book a table.At 6:00 on a Saturday evening it wasn't full but it became increasingly busy. As others have pointed out, there were a lot of families.We decided not to have a starter but had a garlic bread with tomato to share. It was ok but did not stay warm for very long, so I did my best to eat it quickly!We then chose Lasagne, mushroom risotto and I went for the penne arrabiatica. I was offered it with vegetables in the vegetarian version of the dish they serve, but, as it is my favourite Italain meal in its original version of penne with a tasty tomato sauce, I declined the vegetables. We all enjoyed our main courses but had room for a dessert. Ice cream, cheesecake and tiramisu were chosen, with the last one - mine - was very good. I know it was good as I ate it, but the other desserts also went down well.It is in a great location near where our friend currently lives, we enjoyed the food and the service and we would be pleased to return.

Do you remember traditional Italian family run restaurants,before Bella Pasta, Gusto et al took over the high street? Well don't despair here is one such place. Friendly and a couple of families even on a thursday night and some excellent food make for a charming evening. Starters of crayfish and avocado, garlic mushrooms in a super sauce although the avo was a tad crunchy for my taste. Great mains of Pasta Genovese in a creamy pesto sauce really subtle and filling and my partners chicken was just right, not over cooked and dry as so easily it can be. A small but good value wine list makes for a really good evening for all.

An early evening, Saturday visit with friends and also accompanied with a toddler. This was our first visit. Great service with friendly and attentive staff.Everyone was complimentary of the quality of their meals. Try the seafood linguine! Definitely looking for another opportunity to visit.

Food was superb authentic Italian , the best prawn linguine I've ever tasted , service excellent and good value, lovely atmosphere too

I love this place. Great food, fab service. I had a chicken dish that was cooked to perfection. The prosecco is lovely. I would also highly recommend sharing a dish of ribs with some garlic bread. Cannot be beat!

Always have a good meal here, my starter wasn't quite as hot as normal as food here is usually very hot which I love

I had wanted to frequent this eatery since moving to Heaton Moor a few months ago. Finally, I had the opportunity on the Saturday before Xmas,The bruschettine starter was very tasty and the staff obligingly put extra portions on at no extra cost, My tortellini fantasia was one of the best Italian meals I've had for a long time. Finely cooked and rich in flavour, as well as being of perfect portion,Dessert in the form of dark chocolate cheesecake also went down a treat,The prices were reasonable and the staff friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend Avanti to others

I went to Avanti las night for the first time and all the staff is very friendly and smiley. From our table I could see the chefs cooking and they seem very professional and passionated with their job so I really appreciated the fact that all the meal in that restaurant is prepare in the moment. The presentation of the dishes was so nice and colorful, the portions were reasonable but the most important part: The flavor!!! All the dishes that we had were very very tasty! We asked for few starters and mains, but believe me next time maybke just main and dessert because of the size f the portions. The wine is very nice and not expensive, 3.20 for the small one for a restaurante like this for me is a fiar and aldo cheap price because the white ne was soooo nice just as nice as I like :) I truly recomend to go to Avanti, definitely we are going to go back!!!

My girlfriend and I visited for the first time last week. Having tried a few Italian restaurants we'd nearly given up hope but this place is fantastic! From the starters to the desserts we were left wanting for nothing. The service was quick, helpful and friendly, the food (and wine) was delicious and the restaurant was full with a really good feel to the place. We're already planning our next visit!

Will keep this simple.Food was amazing,authentic and plentiful.Staff were brilliant and attentive.Will be going again very soon.Recommend to anyone.

Really nice Italian food, well presented, good portions.. Very Tasty. My fillet steak with the pepper sauce was cooked spot on.. wife loved the seafood risotto.. we will come again.. It is a pity it is not as busy as Valentinos, god knows why people keep going back there.. Maybe they are fans of the 1980s

We have lived in Heaton Moor for two years now and it's a constant struggle NOT to go to Avanti! It's very relaxed and the staff are friendly and the service has always been good, we have never been kept waiting long for food. I have never had a bad meal in there. We always order some sort of salad or garlic bread and then move onto Pasta. I am yet to try the pizza but I can thoroughly recommend: Penne Arrabiata, Totelini Fantasia, Pasta Genovese with chicken and the Pollo Milanese. The pasta portions are very generous too so we have only sampled dessert on a fw occasions. They are big too but very delicious. I have taken family here as well when they come to stay and it is always lovely. I have never been with a party bigger than 4 but there always seem to be larger parties in there so it seems to be a place for every occasion. I would recommend booking a table though to avoid disappointment as it can get busy.

Nice place with welcoming staff, suitable for visits as a couple, friends or with family. Food was enjoyable at a good price. Would recommend as an Italian for locals.

Still licking lips the day after - ribs are to die for! Shame my salmon was overcooked.All dishes looked lovely, freshly cooked and piping hot. Decent portions so no space for dessert!Great waiting staff.Will be back for dessert next time
