Alfredo's Social in Stockport

So I've eaten at many pizza restaurants and made many reviews and this is what I think off Alfredos... First off I give a total of 1/5 stars... Food was poor at best, is it possible to make 5 pizzas where they are beaten by a plain garlic bread? So my wife ordered Salami pizza? I bring this up as this was probably the worst Salami I have ever tasted, all you got was the taste of salt and nothing else, margarita pizza was basic but again tasted bland, and lastly Stockport hot pizza that wasn't hot at all even though I paid extra for extra hot, a polo mint would have been hotter.... So once we all finished with the food I asked all 5 people what star rated they would give? The best was 3 out of 10? Then we ordered cappuccinos? Waited 20min for to only get them lukewarm, so we sent them back, he said they was hot when they made them? That would have probably been the 20min before they brought them to us, anyway we sent them back and another 15min later did we then get hot cappuccinos, service was 2nd rate, you should never be waiting 10-15min to catch hold off a waiter, wouldn't mind the place wasn't busy.. Cost of 5 adult pizzas, 3 beers 1 orange juice, 3 cappuccino came to £110 + £10 service charge=£111.10 probably the worst £111 ive spent in probably 5years

Our second visit for lunch yesterday (Saturday). Both ordered the house lasagne with garlic bread to share alongside. When served warned the lasagne was hot, it wasn't it was stone cold in the middle, how hard is it to have a food thermometer? Replace about 15 mins later however food was average and under seasoned, just wanted to finish and get out. Garlic bread removed from bill by way of apology. Female waiter was excellent friendly and apologetic, however male one was surly and no customer service. We were sat in an area under stairs and when looking up there were more cobwebs than a haunted house. Really does need attention to detail.

Such a lovely place full of character, The food was excellent and the service was both friendly helpful and great., definitely recommended

Excellent pizzas. We had the hot one, the copper coppa and the tonno. The base was authentic and the toppings were all delicious. The service was efficient and friendly and the atmosphere was vibrant. The music is quite loud, which might be a problem for some people.

Visited earlier in the year and was very mixed, gave it another chance this past weekend and the pizzas were amazing - definitely a level up

Lovely venue and great to see the old Winter’s site back in use. The previous tenants did an excellent renovation job and it’s really nice to see that Alfredo’s has kept everything to a high standard. The venue is clean. The food was nice enough and no complaints from us, but nothing more than “nice enough”. The service was slow. The table next to us was served their food for four diners before our food for two diners was served, and they arrived around 20 minutes after us. We sat downstairs and whilst upstairs was busy, downstairs was not. The server working with us dealt exceptionally well with some very rude customers who barged in like they owned the place and started literally crowding the server and talking all at once about how they were going to go upstairs “to see our friends” and just trampled up. The server handled rude people very well and with way more class than the people who had just come in. The music was too loud for our preference and you had to raise your voice too much to be comfortable to be heard by the other people at your table. As did everyone else, so it was generally a pretty shouty environment. I particularly enjoyed experiencing a staff member shouting to another staff member in the main area upstairs as I walked past. Nice to see the site in use and we’ll visit again and hope next time it’s a little more quiet. Maybe it’s us and we’re not the target customer - some people will no doubt enjoy the louder environment, so it’s all personal preference.

Pizza isn’t usually my thing, but our granddaughter wanted one. Wow , really surprised by the choice and quality. I don’t know why I didn’t expect it. The atmosphere, staff, quality of food and price were really good. Definitely on my radar again. Cheers folks, really enjoyed it

Came with my mum and order some starter plates. Mum found a long strand of hair in the garlic bread which I quietly mentioned to a waiter. The plate was cleared quickly and no one returned to the table with a solution. We left disgusted without eating much of the food we ordered and the main yet to come out. The manager “James” thought it was unreasonable to feel disgusted and us not wanting to eat any of the remaining started. Keeping in mind our main had not arrived yet. Aside from trying to be polite and not alert any of the other guests eating, it was supposedly rude of me to say “I feel F’ing disgusted and do not want to eat here”. After “James” was insisted on clearing the bills I was asked to eat the remaining food and pay for it. Unfortunately I do not have a picture to post of the plate and hair as the waiter cleared it extremely quickly when we shown him. Paid the bill and left, will 100% be the last time. Checked the receipt, and “James” lied about his name. It’s Owen as it’s on the POS receipt. Disgusted to say the least. Terrible customer service and wouldn’t recommend here.

Went for last minute meal with partner and I cannot recommend this place enough. Arrmen was fabulous, clearly knew all the dishes and I highly recommend you take his advice, he knows his stuff. My pizza with white sauce base, pear and ndjua was insanely good, gutted they were out of tiramisu but we will be back to try that!

Our second time there. The first time wasn’t great but we gave them the benefit of the doubt as they’d only just opened. Last night, all the same problems were there. We arrived and just stood there. No-one acknowledged us or even made eye contact. After 5 minutes we went to the bar and someone eventually showed us to our table. We then waited ages for someone to take our drink order. Then the drinks just didn’t arrive. I asked and they finally came. We poured our wine into water glasses. About 15 minutes later, wine glasses arrived. This place only does pizzas, so they should get that right. When ordering, our friends asked if they could have half tuna, half plain - they are made fresh to order, so that shouldn’t be difficult, surely? When asked, the waiter just said ‘no’. No apologies, no explanation, nothing. Our pizza was just ok. Nothing special. The nicest thing about the meal was the potatoes. The couple next to us said they’d waited ages and thought the staff rude. Another group said they had to go up to the bar to order as no-one was coming to their table. Used glasses were piled up at the bar and the whole operation looked just chaotic. The serving staff clearly looked miserable and the service was just plain rude. You were made to feel like an inconvenience. There are so many nicer places to eat in Stockport now, we will be giving this place a very wide berth in the future.

Food is 10/10. Best pizza we’ve had in a long time. Wonderful service and wine selection too. We sat outside in the sun watching the underbank world go by and felt like we were on holiday. We can’t wait to come back with friends and family!!

Hmmm. Rude bar service. Dubious cocktails. Lack of atmosphere.unsure on cocktail composition (or garnishes) or prices, very poor drinks at higher prices.

Lovely historic building (the clock in the first floor is a highlight) very friendly staff and great ambience for family, couples or friends (loved the musical selections throughout the meal!). Had a few different pizzas that ranged from alright to good (really liked the fish and chips pizza). It’s a lovely small independent restaurant and there is room to grow so go show some support if you can.

We have been meaning to come hete for a while now, finally we have and we haven't been disappointed! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and very nice service, good choice of beer, not complicated at all. Good variety on the menu, we have had pizza, I went for the Ham and Mushroom and my husband had Stockport's hot. Really nice, fantastic portions and we haven't had to wait long for the food to come out at all, which was one of the things other reviews mentioned although we haven't experienced that today. Sat outside in the sunshine, watching people come and go in Little Underbank, unexpectedly quiet even though it's busy. What I find lovely is the historical value this building holds, and the precious clock mechanism is amazing, you can go upstairs and see the mechanics of the clock which chimes every 15 minutes. I love it! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back. See you soon!

Friendly service and nothing too much trouble. Lovely building design and interior. Exterior nice for chilling. But, I'm afraid, they are the main plus features I can provide. Pizza was very barren of chosen topping (I liked the idea of a 'Fish and Chips' pizza. The fish was some Anchovies, the chips were small and more like the frozen 'bites' you can buy from the supermarket. The actual pizza base was very nice, just need to work on the topping substance in my humble.

We always have a lovely time at Alfredo’s, the food is amazing and the staff are absolutely lovely. Would particularly like to thank Arrmen for the amazing service, and for always making our meals here so lovely!
