Happy House in Stockport

We have been getting our Chinese from Happy House every week for about 15 years and I must say we have eventually stopped. About a year ago we noticed that things had changed, I don't know whether there was a change in ownership as people have changed but the food is not as good as it was - the salt and pepper ribs are now dry and tasteless, the sweet and sour sauce is watery and the special fried rice is greasy. It upsets me to write this review but I do believe that unless you say something nothing will change and we have been unable to find a Chinese like Happy House anywhere else and really want to come back and £40 a week is a lot to loose to some businesses.

The noodles weren't cooked long enough and gave me food poisoning

Special Koon Po is very good and all dishes are reasonably priced (half the price of one takeawy in Cheadle Hulme)

My 15 year old son had Prawn toast and Salt and pepper chicken from here last night. He had not had anything to eat all day due to training. He was extremely sick over night and felt horrible today. Took until 3:20am then he was sick until 5am. Don’t bother. Don’t pay for poisoning

this is the best food i ever tried in my life

Ordered chicken fried rice and salt and pepper chicken tonight,food was great like usual and staff are very kindly,everything is good.

Salt and Pepper dishes are amazing.

Food usually lovely however we ordered the duck and it was extremely dry,hardly any meat and definitely not fresh . very dissatisfied

Food was pretty good over all customer service started out well however............. my partner ordered beef with chilli and spring onions. On opening the order it was clear there was no beef to be seen. Just a tub with onions and sauce (a vegetarians dream). On contacting the take away they insisted she didn't order beef. The answer being 'we didn't charge you for that'. That doesn't resolve the issue. Customer service went from 5* to 1* over 1 phone call. Sorry happy house, you didn't make my partner so happy on this occasion.

Gorgeous freshly cooked meals. We prefer to come here, instead of our local ones, it's the Best.

Waited an absolute age for food and was mediocre. They strangely insist on tying the door wide open even though it was blowing a gale outside.

The chicken is made from outer space elastic bands....it doesn't taste like any chicken i've ever had...shame because the rest of the meal was ok...curry spring rolls were the best...

Not very great, fried prawn in sweet sauce, prawn fried rice, prawn in szechuan sauce and egg fried rice were a let down.

Not bad but not great. Used to be tons better and haven't been in ages and it's just not the same. Quality of the chicken was awful but the beef was alright.

They need to wake up and realise that when people order chips, they probably don't want re-heated leftover dog ends from lunchtime. Last time ever.

Nice fresh Chinese food fresly made.

Went here for the first time and can say It is unlikely I will use it again! I ordered bbq ribs, and egg fried rice, the ribs were dry almost burnt, with no sauce at all and very fatty, the egg fried rice was cold and dry and almost tasteless. My wife ordered chicken cashew nuts and egg fried rice , the chicken dish was dry, and the cashews bad & burnt! The rice was cold.

Used Happy House as my local Chinese takeaway for about 6 years now. Food is always freshly cooked in the open kitchen. Does get very busy on Saturday evenings and its not unusual to be told a 30 minute wait for picking up. Well worth the money.

As a regular visitor, this takeaway provides good quality food.
