What a chippy. Theo and the lovely lady that helps serve have just absolutely nailed it. I have been coming here for several years and have never been let down. Unfortunately I think it is a rarity now a days to find an actual decent fish and chips, you can either do it or you can’t. Theo knows how to do a decent fish and chips. We’ve been plenty and ordered most things off the menu but the big shout out goes to the fish. It’s always cooked to order, super fresh, cooked to perfection and massive - this makes it for me. Chips/sausage/pies/gravy etc all brill too, but the fish is my favourite. We unfortunately do not live locally now but whenever we return to the area to see family we always make the effort to come to The Dorchester because it really is so much better than other local fish and chips - especially those near us! The prices are fair for what you get, I’m sure there may be cheaper chippys in the area, we haven’t checked, only because I don’t mind to pay for the quality you receive. You get huge portions as well, no messing about. Another thing to mention is how clean the premises is. You can really tell Theo and his team take care and effort in the workplace and their business. Thank you Theo for doing what you do, the great food and service! See you next time.

Will cook, can't cook, needs a chef, everything over cooked, no way is the guy chucking stuff over heat a trained chef or even just a chef is a stretch, tables uniformly set out, nice to see cleaning stuff in the corner next to industrial steel table, ruins the woody look its failing to achieve, sorry but to anyone that knows food it is pretty awful, staff nice enough though.

Great value and lovely food. Mains are all less than £10 including rice. Starters cost up to £6, but most are less. Drinks include a large bottle of Singha or Tiger for £4.50. We had starters and main for 5 and it cost just over £80. Excellent value and very friendly staff.

Asked for extra hot coffee. Said they can’t do that! What? Never been told that in any other cafe. It wasn’t even hot 😡 bacon was overcooked all in all not a good experience. Won’t be going back.

Ordered a takeaway- haven't been to Zulaika for a few years so thought I'd give a go as it's local to me. I thought I'd try the garlic chicken as I tried this at an Indian restaurant in Failsworth on xmas eve and had a craving ever since, i not to be dramatic but what a disappointment, the chicken was dry and had a weird smell it was nothing like i expected, I know all places probably do things slightly different but I was starving and looking forward to it. I ordered a garlic nan to go with it and this did not taste fresh. Only managed a couple bits of chicken and did not enjoy the texture or smell. Ended up eating the rice with a bit of curry sauce due to my hunger. Would not order from here again based on this unfortunately.
