Good size and thickness of fish. Chips were nicely cooked and still soft. Not the cheapest but definitely one of the best in the area. Definitely worth the extra cost for size and quality. Usually cut the fish in half and get two meals out of it with a round of bread and mushy peas.

Lovely spot for lunch and a slice of delicious cake. A warm, friendly welcome and comforting food served in generous portions. Great value too.

Had an excellent carvery lunch, a brilliant selection of meats and vegetables and had a glorious chocolate and cherry tart/torte. The staff are friendly and very attentive.

First things first, we went for lunch over Christmas on a particularly dank foggy day. The pub was cold inside and after getting drinks pretty quickly and ordering food it took just over an hour for the food to arrive. The pub was reasonably busy but there appeared to be only lady dealing with numerous tables. I had a large fish and chips and my patner had cheese and onion pie and her friend had a different pie (can't remember which now). My fish and chips was OK, the mushy peas weren't great but at least the food was hot. My partner's pie had a rock hard crust on one side but was edible and her friend's pie was just OK. We all 3 had desserts and I had an apple crumble that was pretty much all powdery crumble with very little apple, I left most of it, the other two thought their desserts were really good on the other hand. We went here as it's about to become Peruga at the Three Bears. We've been to Peruga at the golf club a few times and always had excellent food so we'll be back here in 2025 to see how much it changes? I hope they decide to put the heating on for a start!
