Excellent Sunday lunch - well done new management team Peruga. I hope your new venue does well. Generally the staff were attentive and professional except the one member whose attitude was not, no smile, calling me ‘darling’ on taking our orders and casually dressed. It gives a ‘ couldn’t care less’ vibe and an overfamiliar attitude irritates some diners so perhaps a word from management at their next staff meeting?

We went for a Sunday roast, it was 30 minutes before we ordered anything and then another 45 minutes to tell us that the food we had ordered was no longer available. Never had a poorer experience, we ended up having to leave with no food due to the complete lack of service. Avoid at all costs.

Visited on the strength of the reputation of Peruga ( which we knew from their former restaurant business). We were not disappointed. Pleasant surroundings and friendly service and food of super quality. We all went for the tapas menu for a lunch and were all impressed by the quality and freshness of the ingredients and the presentation. Calimari, courgette fritters, fried Brie and house salad all delicious. Recommended

Friendly staff. Very nice , clean pub. Ordered Large beer battered cod and a salad. What was supposed to be cod was just mostly batter and hardly any cod at all. Also ordered 2 desserts £6 each but definitely not worth £6 for a small bowl of Apple Crumble. Cost £50 inc drinks.

Our table was booked for 6 pm , the restaurant was empty but for two tables, service was slow to say the least. We had six in the party four ordered fish and chips . We waited ages then a waiter told us that they had run out of chips and only had thin fries. Then 15 to twenty minutes later she came back and said that they had no more fish. When the food eventually arrived it was ok but certainly not worth the price we paid.

Had the Sunday roast today. We had the beef and the lamb and both were superb. The vegetables were perfect, roast potatoes spot on and the Yorkshire puddings were so tasty, I usually don’t eat Yorkshire puddings but these were exceptional! Also ordered a side dish of cauliflower cheese which was quite big and also cooked perfectly. The staff as mentioned in previous comments were all lovely and helpful, so pleased we have good food back at the Teddies.

After being advised that the Three Bears don't offer a Carvery anymore after they had their refurbishment but they do serve a roast dinner, we decided to try it and we were not disappointed! With homemade yorkshires, great selection of veg, rosemary & garlic roast potatoes, honey glazed parsnips & carrots, good selection of meats & vegetarian options with various extras including cauliflour cheese! Their gravy was one of the best I've tasted and I can promise, bisto wasn't at all recognised (not that there is anything wrong with it). The roast was that tasty and reasonably priced, we've decided to make it a monthly visit, inviting others to try. Highly recommend!

Travesty. I’ve been to squats that have better food than this. I tried the bangers and mash and I felt like I’d rather be banged into mash. My girlfriend had the curry of the day and if that’s the curry of the day, I’d hate to see what the curry of the night is. Service was ok and good with little kids but had to pre order, via a phone call on the day only notifying me (I was working) a few hours before. Then some of the things on the menu weren’t available on arrival. Atrocious, mind bendingly despicable food and a terrible idea to go here. 45 minutes wait even after a pre order. Please avoid with all the fibres of your being, it’s really not worth it I promise

We have just left the establishment bitterly disappointed. We booked a table for 4.30pm and were quickly shown to our table. We asked if we could be seated by the window as the place was half empty and the team member said that was fine. We ordered the roast dinners and then the problems started. About 10 mins after ordering were advised they didn't have enough cauliflower cheese as they have a booking for 10 people coming in shortly and they don't have enough for us all. We were quite perplexed at this point as it just made us feel like we aren't valued as customers because we were a small group, but we weren't too fussed so said that would be okay. Then 5 minutes later another lady came over and asked us to move tables because they have a large booking. At this point we had enough and decided to leave. The ladies that asked us to move were extremely apologetic but unfortunately we were too frustrated at this point. Manager was very defensive and made up excuses. Such a shame as we were looking forward to trying the place after the refurbishment. Never again.

The Three Bears Almond Pub - this was amazing! The Carvery was delicious, the best around. Always 3/4 meats available , all the trimmings and gravy / sauces. The chef carving the meats was always generous and you could have more than one meat. The desserts were to die for, a varied selection, different to what you are offered elsewhere. The meals off the main menu looked very appetising to. *Covid*Post Covid - we have heard rumours the pub has been taken over by Robinsons? We arrived to an empty pub - friendly staff, attentive. Plenty of options on the menu, however Carvery only served on Sundays now. I was very disappointed with the Carvery, the roast potatoes had no taste, the vegetables on offer were carrot/swede mash, cauliflower cheese and cabbage (none of which the staff had told us). Choice of three meats turkey, beef or gammon - which you got two slithers off. Yorkshire pudding - tasty, but crispy and not alot of gravy. Disappointed that there was no stuffing on the dish. For me, the Carvery was the main selling point of the three bears. Not sure I would now return with the changes. One guest had the Thai Green Curry and it was just filled with massive chunks of pepper & the frozen chips were dry and looked terrible on the plate. Did not have the same feel / vibe about the place.

Extended family visit, it’s local, but somewhere I’ve never been into before. We’d booked to make sure that they could accommodate the family party, and we were able to, spread over a couple of tables.Due to the current Covid conditions, the Carvery option, meant that the staff dished up what vegetables were required, this worked just fine, kept me from piling my plate high with roasties...The selection of veg, was sufficient for all tastes, I was more than happy with my allotted portion of roast meats. It wasn’t the cheapest I’ve had, but probably not the dearest either.. give it a go..

This 'pub' has been my local for 18 years. Enjoy visiting here with family and friends, or as a couple. Good selection of beers, whilst very occasionally we go for the carvery (beats The Fiveways hands down). The 'pub' is getting smaller and smaller as the focus on tables for eating is the premium. Friday to Sunday be prepared for a cramped stand at the bar or any available space, as 'reserved' tables are empty (the staff advise for up to 2 hours). The Ladybrook has it right - the sign on the table let's you know the time when it's reserved from (perhaps leave 10 mins beforehand to allow for cleaning?!). The carvery and menu is tasty (and plate sizes are filling). But..........is it a pub or a restaurant? An opportunity to improve availability for locals.

Have been to this pub many times before and have always had a good time however was a little disappointed today. Went with my mum and sat in the conservatory which was lovely. Drinks ordered straight away and arrived quickly to which we then ordered our food: mum had a beef burger and a Cajun chicken burger for myself, both ordering a sides of coleslaw. Food arrived quickly however the coleslaw portions were really small especially how we were paying extra for them, and when mum questioned the size portion the waiter agreed that they were the typical size - which we were both shocked by. Food tasted great however the salad was more leaves and onion then cucumber and tomato which was disappointing. We were too full for desert so opted for coffees. When they arrived I asked for sugar and mum asked for the bill, however 10 mins later we were still waiting. Manager came around and we again asked for these two items - manager seem really lovely :) On our bill we had still been changed for the extra coleslaw and no attempt was made to rectify the problem mum had raised which was a disappointment and the waiter seemed to think this ok. Bit disappointing visit considering the great experiences previously.

Visit the Hesketh the sister pub reasonably frequently and find it OK so decided to try the Three Bears for Sunday lunch, nice conservatory, reasonable range of Robinson's beers, pleasant staff. The scampi and chips was just standard pub fare which strangely came with mushy peas rather than garden. But the margherita pizza was a bit of a disaster - laden with greasy cheese and little else, a soggy greasy bottom and an overpowering fatty smell. We visited The Three Bears as a party of nine tonight and were all very impressed by the level of service and the food. Having visited another of the Almond pubs before (The Hesketh) with disastrous results, tonight could not have been more different. Our server, Molly, was attentive and efficient and Jake on the carvery had a smile and a nice word for every single customer. Eight of our group had the carvery and the food was tasty and plentiful. The other member of our party had the fish and chips (which apparently isn’t available at The Hesketh on a Sunday) and enjoyed his meal too. Overall, we had a lovely evening and we will definitely visit again.

As a family we had a good night at the three bears quiz unfortunately the member of staff (Maisy) really needs some customer service training as she was rude, talking to her colleagues while serving and unable to pour a pint of beer. Why is it pubs do not train staff anymore. I will try another visit and hope I get served by someone who cares.

It’s ok has Sunday calvary goes but what do you expect for £15 a head inc drinks. I had to ask three times for my bill which annoyed me and the reason no tip was given.

I went to this pub a few years ago and it was disappointing to say the least, however have come back with my husband and grandchildren and it has all been done up .IT IS LOVELY! the décor is beautiful and the food really is gorgeous. We sat in the conservatory area that was lovely as it was a sunny day. The only thing I would say that is a slight downside, is the service. There isn't enough staff on and the ones that are, you can sense are stressed and it effects service. We waited 20 minutes for a drink at the bar. Apart from that we were very pleased and will be returning. Great little local pub!

Came for a celebration but those who ordered from the menu were kept waiting for an hour before the food came and one guest’s meal was forgotten. When the food came I had the vegetarian pizza which was thick and stodgy and was supposed to have rocket on top but did not. At least the staff were friendly.

Came here for the carvery, never ever again, beef wafer thin and stringy as well as tasteless, everything we had including all the veg and gravy was so bland, my bottle of still water had more flavour, clearly the cook doesn't use seasoning, there wasn't even any salt and pepper to be had, staff didn't even ask how the meal was at the end, all in all a genuinely dreadfully bland tasteless meal and we won't be returning, cannot recommend whatsoever.

My scampi was under-cooked, the scampi was pale yellow and soggy, certainly not golden brown and crisp, the mushy peas were cold. I left most of my meal. It was only 12.15, not busy. I think the chef should be re-trained.

We visited as family of 6, ages ranging from 9 to 72. Service was quick and staff were very friendly. Quality of food good and this is one of the better Carvery's in the area. Great for Sunday lunch.

It’s just a standard carvery, bit of meat, Yorkshire pud and veg selection. If you don’t have a carvery, then the options are very limited and not much to write home about. My friend had the Fish and Chips and it was average to say the least. The conservatory area is boiling and not comfortable at all.

With a group of friends we called in to join the weekly Monday quiz night. Free to enter, but £2.50 gets you a carvery. I’m not usually one for carveries, but have to say that this was good and great value. The quiz content wasn’t the standard we are used to, but we have friends that are regulars at The Three Bears, so it can’t be bad. Will come back

Not sure what happened with my scampi and chips but I have felt pretty rough today as that was all I had eaten since yesterday. Think the scampi might of been abit under cooked possibly as not felt like this for a long time.

Visited the 3 bears for lunch with a friend this week. Ordered from the main menu. when the food arrived it wasn’t very hot and the breaded scampi was over cooked. The service however was very good and the staff all very pleasant and helpful. I will stick to the carvery when I re visit as it’s usually very good.

A good food pub well managed and popular. Just not enough seating if you only want a drink and when its too cold to sit outside.

I love this pub group, part of the almond group which has the Hesketh plus more under its command. First time I went was a Sunday and sat in restaurant area felt uneasy as we felt under the weather so didn't order a lot only my son had a main meal and could tell we were taking a table from some else who would probably spend more money than we did. In fact over heard the waitress saying we shouldn't have been allowed to sit there because of such a small order. I do understand that but didn't like to be made to feel an inconvenience. The next time I went was in my own as had some time to kill. Was a Monday lunch and was bang on last orders when I ordered but they still accepted my order. It took a while but the burger I ordered had to be sent back as was very undercooked however I do know some place serve burgers medium rare so asked the policy before returning it. Upon being told it should be cooked through the manager took it to be changed. When a new one came it was nice and hot, not a "dirty" burger style but a English pub style. Despite these issues I give 3 stars as is a nice pub, good for a cosy drink with a partner. Don't think I'll eat there again as would rather go to the Hesketh and as they're due to open a new one in Davenport and is closer to where I live might give that a go. Hope it has a play area as good as the hesketh tho as my son loves it there.

Went for a lunch with 4 other ladies. I had the choice of 1 meal advertised as Goan curry with rice, pitta bread and tomato relish. The relish didnt arrive, the sweet potato in the curry was raw, the actual curry was very bland and tasteless except for a very strong chilli burning. Needless to say I just ate the pitta bread which was an odd thing to serve with a curry- would have thought naan bread but then again naan is much more expensive than pitta which was just a plain white shop bought one. There are no desserts and was offered a black coffee so no dairy alternative milk either.

Booked here for a large family group for the carvery, food was of a good quality, all seemed pretty fresh, choice of 3 meats and the beef was medium too which is nice to see as so often over done and dry in carvery places. Service was friendly and the place had a good atmosphere.

I went in this establishment and asked for a gluten free beer. I was told there was none. Having just come back from London I was extremely disappointed not to be able to have a drink after my journey. I’m assuming their food won’t be GF either.
