This pub had a warm, friendly vibe and wood burning fire on. Upholstery throughout with wooden panelling on the walls.

Went to family birthday. Very friendly place. Will be returning

Popped in for quick tea, steak n ale pie was excellent, staff were absolutely lovely, highly recommend.

Had a lovely lunch. Cheese and onion pie and chips. Defo home made and extremely tasty. Staff very friendly and efficient. Good place to visit

Went here for a funeral wake so wasn't the best of circumstances , but the service was great, staff friendly, food gorgeous and the beer perfectly prepared. I don't live in the area but would like a local like this.

Came here from a recommendation from friends. Complete let down, food is all cooked from frozen, a lot of it came cold after waiting for an hour. The cauliflower cheese was anemic and the Yorkshire Puddings were burnt. On a positive note, the staff were friendly

Is one of our favourites pubs around Stockport. The food, service, environment and place are really nice. We have spent some nights doing the pub quiz and is always a theme, like Spanish night, curry night... and the Quiz and food is about the theme that make the quiz night diferent and special. The staff really make you feel welcome.

The staff and the pub is really good. However after two weeks of visiting the pub I received a parking fine, which there was no signage of. Which I was annoyed about as I have been in the pub a few times before with my brother in law who suffers with parkinsons and mental health we go after he has been to his physiotherapy session as it relaxes him and he enjoys it. I have tried to sort this out with the landlady who has not been very helpful As she told me when i called her about the matter that there was a changeover happening regarding the parking and she would enquire with the Company responsible for the ticket. I have emailed her also and never heard back from her. I am at the moment appealing this but they have written back rejecting it. I haven't been back into the pub since and I shall not return as this is disgraceful. Kelvin

Attended a very special ladies funeral 2day the wake was held at this lovely pub never been before the buffet was excellent lovely & fresh & presentation perfect staff welcoming & very friendly service 1st class it may have been our 1st visit it definitely won't be our last thank you for making a very sad occasion a very pleasant one

Never been before but I’m glad I decided to go, recently came for a few drinks and was greeted by the lovely Hannah, she was so warm and welcoming and made me feel really comfortable. After a lovely chat she let me know about the afternoon tea, so I will definitely be back with friends soon.

Just enjoyed a great afternoon in the Dog and Partridge. Sunday lunch was excellent with the chef coming to the table for a natter about sourcing produce and if we had any particular dietary requirements. Beer was on form with a reasonable selection of wines. If you're in the area or just passing by then why not pop in and enjoy the pub? The beer garden is excellent with plenty of tables to enjoy our occasional sunny days and staff are friendly. We'll definitely be going back.

Had a fantastic afternoon tea at the Dog the cakes were amazing even better than they were before . Definitely going back for another one. Love the sandwiches and the cream scone as well. Staff great as always 10/10 from me.

This is a great pub for a summer night! A 2 minute walk from my house and the beer garden is great for both the adults and the kids! There is swings, a climbing frame and a slide shaped like a tree. Would recommend the lime and soda. Overall a brilliant pub and we will be back soon!

Saturday 30th March 2024 Today, we came into this really old-fashioned Robinsons pub This pub was a polite place with good bar staff today This place is a easy going friendly pub that had 1 hand pumped ale on today, which was Robinson unicorn golden ale/it was superb/ There is a basic beer garden at the back of the pub, which is good for sun lovers when the weather is nice

First time here, with our family. 2 toddlers play area is brilliant food and service amazing. looking forward to going back.

Only had a couple of pints with my Mum but the place looked great.

This is an amazing local establishment that has top quality homemade food and specialises in after funeral celebrations. 10 out of 10 from me. Keep up the good work karen and the staff. X

Been in a few times but never for food. Thought we’d give it a try as we’ve seen lots of positive reviews. And it does live up to the reviews. Very nice, classic pub grub, done very well and really good portions. And at a good price. Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice hearty meal and a nice pint in a nice atmosphere.

A Monday meet up with an ex work colleague. Great choices on the menu and the food was delicious especially the chunky chips ! Lovely friendly and welcoming staff, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, plus a good sized car park and no problem finding a space. Highly recommended, I will definitely be returning and many thanks everyone for a enjoyable lunch.

Spacious but cosy. Traditional without having an overly local feel. We felt relaxed and welcome, and the food was good quality. Would go there again for a chill and chat. Nice pub.

Christmas set menu , we had starters which were ok and then a Christmas dinner as the main, unfortunately it was frozen food that had been cooked in the oven,£21 for 2 courses I'd have expected the roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings to be home made. Drinks are expensive, over £5 for a pint of bierre moretti, no shots available which on a night that's clearly full of people of Christmas do's was disappointing. Entertainment was good ..a guy called Steve leach. Toilets and the pub as a whole were clean with plenty of seats.

We held our engagement party here on Saturday and had the most amazing day! We picked this venue as we had a few small children coming and wanted to make sure they'd be entertained. We were very lucky with the weather and the playground was brilliant for the kids and their parents. We had a buffet for 40 people and it was fab - there was something for everyone including vegetarians and gluten free. A lot of our guests were coming from city centre so they were delighted at the drinks being so reasonably priced! There was a band on at 8pm and we enjoyed chatting out the back while listening to them in the background (there is a review below mentioning this, which is quite harsh so I'd ignore that - it was 25 degrees so we were enjoying the last of the Summer heat, catching up with friends we've not seen in months!) Karen, the landlady, was great from day one, brilliant communication throughout and so friendly! Would 100% recommend this pub to anyone looking to host an event for friends and family :)

A Saturday night, about 20 people in.. Half watching a jazz band playing to their entourage, the rest were all out in back garden avoiding the jazz band . No atmosphere at all for a Saturday night which you would have thought would be a busy night.But. like the crown and the Duke along the A6 , the beer prices at the Dog are also much higher than elsewhere.... ironically, i visited all three of these pubs that evening and they were all lacking in atmosphere for a Saturday and don't encourage me to make them my go to places for weekend entertainment ....

Dreadful. We ordered 2 pates. One arrived after waiting for 40 minutes. Was then told that only one was available so swiftly ordered the prawn cocktail as a replacement. I think it was shrimps they were so small and not thoroughly defrosted, plonked on to Rocket, no tomato or cucumber. The Scampi was hard and over cooked. The gammon tough with an undercooked egg leaking on top of it. The chips were hard and smelled of over used oil. No colour or garnish on anything. It took an hour to get a sausage for the dog. The waitress, although pleasant, hadn't a clue. An experience not to be repeated. They weren't even busy. Dreadful

We recently held a funeral wake here and were impressed with the friendly service and lovely atmosphere. Landlady Karen was wonderful to deal with and very efficient and accommodating . The buffet went down well with everyone and there was plenty of it. A great place to hold a post funeral reception

Was the best place to go to after my son’s christening. The pub in itself is so gorgeous! Karen and Sez decorated it just how I wanted it it was such a good day! Made us all feel so welcomed. I couldn’t of been happier with how it all went! The food was gorgeous! Drinks were flowing and it was just a good day! Thankyou so much!! Definitely recommend and will most definitely be coming back! 😁❤️

Saw a good band, Dr Uke. Good to see live music. Robbies pub with Dizzy Blonde and Unicorn available. Friendly pub with a nice atmosphere. Be careful if you're parking though. For some reason you have to register your car reg to avoid a fine. Not the pubs fault but a bit sneaky of Robinson's to try and make money from unsuspecting drivers.

Went to see a band,Dr Uke,who were great,so we stayed longer than planned. Lovely pub,friendly barstaff and well kept beer,can't ask for more than that.

Held a wake at the Dog & Partridge recently. Just wanted to say thank you so much to Sarah who was really lovely. She looked after us and she couldn’t do enough for us. Food was also great. I’ll definitely be visiting again under happier circumstances.

Really recommend this pub! Free parking, dog friendly and lots of places to sit. We had a meal after a walk and the staff were amazing (didn’t mind our muddy boots too!) The pie is a must have and the beer selection is great

I recently held my Late Uncle's funeral reception here, and we couldn't have chosen a better venue or been in better hands. Karen and her team were outstanding in their service, hospitality and warm welcome. Karen provided me with a wide selection of dishes to select from for the buffet, both hot and cold dishes,, and all the food was presented beautifully, nicely garnished, and plenty of plates, cutlery, napkins etc were provided. We had exclusive use of a cosy room at the back of the pub, and a log burning stove had been lit, a cheery and welcome sight on a chilly day. Karen had even put little posies of fresh flowers on each table...such a lovely gesture . The price per head for the buffet was very reasonable indeed, and there was plenty of food to go round. I can thoroughly recommend the Dog & Partridge, it's a very well run, friendly pub, and their event catering is superb .

Held my husbands 50th at the D&P. Karen was amazing and the whole thing was so easy to organise. A really good night and the food was fantastic- everyone commented on the food. I didn’t want a buffet, so Karen did sausage/bacon butties and chips. Thank you. Will definitely be using the D&P for functions again. The D&P is out local pub and it’s a great family pub with the park at the back and great entertainment at weekends.

We hosted our best friends baby shower here a few weeks ago and our experience was amazing! The staff here are really friendly and the manager was very helpful. We was able to use two rooms for a small fee which were beautifully decorated! Everyone had a great time. Will definitely book for more events in the future. Thankyou so much!

Firstly, I can't get in the door. A member of staff watched us struggle, muttered something about a ramp, but didn't seem inclined to go and find one. There are no disabled toilets: when I asked staff, they just shrugged. If I'm drinking, I'm going to need to wee, so this is a problem. We used to be fairly regular visitors here prior to my wheelchair use and under a previous landlord, but we've had to find ourselves another local. In the summer, I have sat outside to avoid the door problem. The garden is large, as is the car park. However, there is no access (for me) into the pub from here unless I wheel round the entire building to the front, which is still a problematic entrance. However the staff member who came out to us was lovely, but had I been on my own, I would have had to ring them up to tell them I was there. Some members of my group ordered vegan food. The menu did have some vegan food on it, but I wasn't tempted by any - to be honest I was in too much pain after the door issues to eat and I ended up going home rather than enjoying myself. The beer was fine (Robinsons), the coffee was fine, the parking is great and there seems to be a good atmosphere, but it's really not worth the accessibility problems for me.

How exceptional our experience was for lunch. I had a spectacular Turkey Dinner and John had a Peri Chicken Burger that was extremely filling and scrumptious!!! Not been in this place for a long time so we went for lunch so let's begin place was very cold that we had to leave our coats on so did this other couple which is a shame. Food was very nice and service from bar staff was excellent may not go again due to place begin cold
