Well, going off of the worst reviews for this place, and also the fact that this closed an hour earlier to when it said it would when I tried to visit the other day (meaning I couldn’t)…. I actually really enjoyed my breakfast today! One of the best veggie breakfasts that I’ve had with great portions for £7.50! I actually way preferred it here to Sivori's in Edgeley Also I was served much quicker than I have been in any other cafe recently so hats off to them 🎩

Great little cafe, lovely food, lovely people, good quality coffee. Has become our regular.

waited 1 hour for 2 buttys rang the place to see where the food was she answered said hello we asked where the food was and then she just ended the phone on us food arrived soaking wet cold and doesn't even taste nice would not recommend this place at all never ordering again 😡

There were a few problems with our order and one which generated a complaint such as it showing up as delivered for over half an hour before it was (this was on the Just Eat platform) and this led to a lot of frustration and a refund request via JE (which I have immediately emailed them and asked them to totally disregard my refund request and explained that my husband and I had been convinced that our order had gone to a similar address near here which has happened before. It also led to a review which I have asked Just Eat to remove and not publish as it was no longer accurate as it was along the same lines as the reason for the refund request). I'm doing this review in case Just Eat don't listen and this is a genuine review of The Scotch Egg - a review I would have written if the mishap with the delivery falsely saying "delivered" hadn't occured. Firstly, I'd like to say the lady I was speaking to, as the order finally arrived, was so lovely and patient and understanding and we both laughed at the fact the order arrived as I was talking to her - she gets 5 stars! The food was actually lovely, plentiful and still hot, which can be quite hard to do with cooked breakfasts as they tend to cool quickly and if I'm honest, there was so much, neither my husband nor I could eat it all. I'm not going to comment on delivery as there was obviously a glitch and that could have been Just Eat. It did end up taking around an hour and a half - 2 hours from ordering but that would not have been a problem if the tracking hadn't falsely said that it had been delivered half and hour before it was. All in all - we DO recommend this place, the staff are lovely and the food is good

Disgusting!!! I wish I could upload a photo the egg looks like a scrambled egg. An the toast was literally put in and out of a toaster, the sausages was hardly cooked and cheep tasting, my partner got bacon and sausage his was the same and his bacon was vile!!! We wouldn’t even feed the meat to our dogs.

Just been in here for a large bacon barm. Got to my wagon to eat it massive barm 2 slices of bacon. Disappointed big time and it wasn't cheap 😪 🤢

We recently started work nearby and didn't want Macdonald's, so tried this place ....wow...large menu, stuck for choice. This place has bad reviews on just eat...but for the sit in service a big thumbs up... Try for yourself...we will be back. People are quick to moan so wanted to put how pleased we both were with the service and the yummy food....presentation was good too...not just slapped on the plate...😀😀

At the moment due to current restrictions they are only doing takeaway meals. On previous occasions I have had one of their delicious cooked breakfasts. In my opinion the best in Stockport. They also do a range of meals, sandwiches, and jacket potatoes, along with hot and cold drinks. I ordered chicken kawurma a Iranian dish from this Iranian run cafe. Chicken pieces, onions and peppers in a, delicious tomato sauce, served with salad and chips. It would be nice if they could do some more Iranian dishes. A lovely cafe with friendly service and very good value.

Don’t order from this place unless you wanna be late for work

I love this cafe. They have a wide and extensive menu. With traditional breakfast items, salads, sandwiches, some middle Eastern food and drink. I managed to resist one of their amazing breakfasts which is probably the best in Stockport. I had a lovely latte which a good coffee taste. My son loved his sausage sandwich and cup of tea. Very friendly and pleasant, lovely cafe. I cannot recommend this cafe enough.

Car was in for a service so headed down to McDonald’s and passed this cafe and thought sod it I’ll have a breakfast It was the nicest full breakfast I’ve had in a long time latte was great too Highly recommend this little cafe pity I don’t live in Stockport or I would be in here daily

Went in for a sandwich ended up sitting down for a full English and coffee. Absolute great place. Friendly little lad on the till with a work ethic which is good to see and the food was great. Cant find fault with this place

Seem to take a long time to produce the food. I was waiting ages even though I was tge only one in for a sandwich. Maybe 15 mins ir more. Seem to have new owners in.

I had been meaning to go into this cafe for a long time. I went to the counter and ordered my mega breakfast which included a free hot drink. The machine coffee was lovely and of a high standard.The breakfast was amazing. 2 lovely pork sausages, 2 thick collar rashers of bacon full of flavour, a lovely slice of black pudding, 2 fried eggs with lovely runny yolks. A nice whole tinned tomato, a decent portion of fried mushrooms, very tasty baked beans and a generous portion a hash brown and 2 slices of white buttered toast. i could not fault this breakfast easily the best breakfast I have had in Stockport and the best breakfast I have had in a long time.They have a extensive menu. Also lovely post box and red telephone box salt and pepper cellars. Polite and efficient service. A amazing cafe.

Need to change their opening times on Google. Went down for something to eat, only to find they shut at 3pm not 4pm. Not impressed.

What a fabulous place the staff were brilliant food great

Called in here on a Saturday very rainy lunchtime. Very quiet. Bacon Barmcake Butty excellent. Bacon all back bacon - none of that streaky fatty stuff. Brown sauce to top it off. Yum Yum.

Sausages horrible been cooked few days before . Don't eat here . My mates poached egg on toast burnt .

Visiting Stockport and the scotch egg was recommended to grab a coffee. I thought never mind just a coffee I'll have breakfast too as lunch would be unlikely. Very clean and staff very friendly. Excellent food, all breakfast items were hot, not like other places I've visited I can tell you. It was quiet when I called so service was fast. I can understand why there may be other reviews about having to wait in a queue but to me that's also a sign of quality, if people are prepared to wait. Thanks ladies for doing what you do, keep up the good work.

Independent cafes and restaurants needs to stay in business like this one.

Popped into the shop for a coffee, the member of staff on was very friendly and welcoming. Coffee was very nice also.

Bought a BLT Roll from here, the tomatoes where covered in mould and hair, waste of money... straight into the bin!' Avoid.

There was a big queue when I arrived and the tables were full. One lady was making the food and another taking the orders and payments. The food was being taken to the tables as it was ready to make sure it was served hot but not necessarily as a complete order. When customers said there was more to come the lady serving was very abrupt. One customer requested their money back because she was so abrupt although the staff member thought it was because she didn't want to wait. The food was delicious. Just a pity the staff member was too stressed to provide a pleasant experience otherwise I too would score it a 5.

Dropped in here as we work just up the road, we were very pleasantly surprised with their wide selection of freshly prepared food. We opted for a freshly mage frittata with a selection of their side salads; all of which were absolutely delicious. The cost was very reasonable for what we had, and it is highly likely we will be going most lunch times from now on! A must for anyone working along that road, you won't regret it.

Absolutely brilliant place, five of us ordered five vastly different menu options, and all were excellent! It's rare that a cafe can have so many options and still meet standards, but this place has done it!

I went in expecting the usual run of the mill greasy spoon. I was proved wrong very quickly. A good choice of food and drink. I opted for porridge tea cakes and freshly squeezed orange (total cost around 5 pounds). Everything was excellent and much nicer than most cafes. Theres a selection of home made scotch eggs, nice looking healthy salads and other good things. Of course the full english breakfast is still an option. Staff friendly and open early. What more could you want from a cafe?

Arrived very early for an appointment, so decided to eat an early lunch. What a find - ordered sweet chilli chicken frittata with seals. Fantastic! Great food and service with a smile. If I'm ever back this way I will definitely call again

We were searching for a cafe this morning me and two stroppy teenage girls moaning and groaning as we drove around searching... Spotted the scotch egg and found a parking space. Warm welcome as we entered and where then served an awesome full English delight Thank you so much :))
