Excellent authentic Italian food in the restaurant in the Andrew Arms, Compstall. The food service is separate from the pub with a comfortable dining room. The food cooked by chef Vichenzo and served by his wife is Italian through and through. Lovely atmosphere, beautiful food at good price, which we will visit again and again. My pet hate is dogs in the dining room and there were none. I don't know if we were just lucky. Our favourite Italian.

Not often I give a bad review but my short experience at Libby's was less than ideal. Popped in on a Sunday around 10.30 for a takeaway coffee and cake to find their usually well stocked cake counter fairly empty. No worries really as they still had what I wanted. However I then was left standing by the counter waiting to be served while various members of staff stood by the serving hatch. Cafe was about half full. Walked out in the end.

We came here for the pub quiz on Thursday with some friends which was an awesome night, full of laughter and fun. The food looked amazing so we decided to come back for a Sunday roast which did not disappoint! We had a starter, main and dessert which were all delicious! Service was quick, friendly and accommodating. The seating areas are warm and comfortable with nice music which makes for a lovely overall atmosphere. I cannot recommend this place enough, we will definitely be making this a regular visit!

We have just moved into Marple Bridge and this was our first visit to our local cafe. The food was good, the staff weren't. I would like to make it clear that it was not a busy time and good service costs nothing. First, a young man came to us after we'd been waiting at the door for some time and said he'd clear a table. Only he didn't come back. A while later, another guy came and said he needed to clear a table. Eventually, we were seated. When the food arrived quite a while later, there was no cutlery for me. I gestured to the young waiter who, without an ounce of apology, gestures back that he was now serving someone else and would be with me as and when. I encouraged my son not to wait and to eat his food while it was hot. I think it would be hard to find such blaise waiting staff. This is a shame as the food itself was good.

We stumbled upon South Seven after Libby's, next door but one, was shut. This was at 4.30pm and Libby's wasn't opening until 5pm (Tier 3 times). South Seven was recommended by a staff member in The Midland, opposite, as we only wanted a coffee. Well the coffee was great; as South Seven's machine wasn't working, they went through the back and got it from Libby's anyway! What's nice about Marple is the sense of mutual proprietor community - the staff member from The Midland making the recommendation and Libby's helping out South Seven.
